I really loved to know about this buddy! I have a lot of pieces and I'm trying to keep them clear and heandly with care but the weather in Salvador " Brazil" is very hard. Unfortunately some hottoys are very expensives and don't resist with the time. Best regards from Brazil! Milton Carlos .
thank god i'm never tempted to collect iron man but the problem doesnt end there my favorite ht figure which is anne hathaway's selina kyle is peeling off i also want to pick scarlet witch, but then again, the leather suit is a deal breaker
The Selina Kyle has some major flaking issues, mines are all flaked as well, same with Scarlet Witch. You just need to get leather oil and maintain them once every 3-6months.
Found this thing called 3D LVP conditioner, basically for your car interior for materials like leather, vinyl, and plastic and rubber, what's your opinion in using it as an all in one for hot toy materials preservation?
Is there a way to clean color that’s rubbed off onto the figure itself? I bought a used Midnight version Albert Wesker and unfortunately the pleather accessories weren’t well maintained. There are black spots from where the suit and coat on his skin. I’m worried that I might strip his skin color if I use something that’s not water and elbow grease. Nothing seems to work though.
Hi! Thanks for the video, very useful. The led on my Captain Marvel's wrist simply broke. Not the peg itself, but the little bulb inside it. Do you know if it can be replaced? Her forearms are not removable.
Hey there, I have a question for you. I got a captain Rex hot toy about a month ago and its still in its original packaging, it’s double boxed and has protectant card board paper in the box with it. I’m in Atlanta GA, and it’s been 95-100% humidity outside over the past few days and I’m starting to get worried about the humidity levels in my home. Do you think damage to the figure is worth worrying about or should I consider getting a dehumidifier?
I would definitely get one chief I love down in South Texas and it can get pretty crazy with humidity here. I bought a dehumidifier off Amazon a few months back for around 30$
@@ish8966 I’ve seen humidifiers costing up in the hundreds so it’s good to know that you got a cheaper one that does a good job. I’ll try and do the same.
@@ddg0907 Oh nah you'll be fine it just depends on how big your room is. My room isn't too big so a smaller one works fine, but if you do have a large room I would recommend getting one around the 60-80$ price range. The expensive ones are usually for covering an entire house which I highly doubt you will need.
Honestly i love and collect Hot Toys but they are so fragile that some times i regret i don't collect Mafex or SH Figuarts you can do some crazy pose on those and they are still very nice figures.
those mostly just out of uv light, keep humidity low and careful with dynamic poses. I think the Ironspider game version has similar suit material to the IW Ironspider, seen that one fade in colour.
Good video. Though I wouldn’t leave a non cloth material figure in a dynamic pose for more than a week! I put JL Flash in a running pose for one week. When I went to change the pose, the material around the knees was stretched and now a little baggy. Also, the Superman figures 😩 the material WILL stretch EVERYWHERE. My figure was in the hover pose with the feet slightly pointing down and the knees slightly bent. After a few months, that position stretched the suit and now they are all baggy 😭. Also, the horrible flight stand holder WILL damage all figures by the force of the holder. Pleather material is 💩 too! Always flaking off. 😡
i live up in canada its not exactly overly humid or crazy hot even during summer would you say id need to use 303 or pleather protection, would i even need to or necessarily apply often to my hot toys figures that has rubber or pleather components?
Hi mate, I would probably still get them and apply to pleather once 6 months and rubber once a year. That way the figures will always be in pristine condition.
Hi, thanks for the tips :) ! About the room UV light, if I have a zebra blinds curtain, but only certain amount of lights going in the room. (not direct sunlight) is that okay for my HT figures ?
Nice video. However, there are some incorrect parts I would like to point out. Spiderman figures using rubber-like materials for the costume (with the exception of probably just the home made suit), they WILL get damaged if you bend any the joints enough, leaving creases which will NOT disappear. Another thing to be careful about that wasn't mentioned with the Spidey figures is that the so called "crotch-grabbers" will leave a dent-like mark on the suit if you use it long enough, regardless of the figures' pose. BTW, the Ironman MK 3 shown in your picture is the original 1.0 version and is NOT the diecast version nor does it have any diecast parts.
Yeah definitely need to be careful with Spiderman suits. However I used to put my Ironspider in a dynamic pose for half a year, now put him back in a museum pose like 2 months ago and the creases are not there anymore on the knees and elbows. Yeah I just found the Mk3 photo on the internet, the diecast version has issues with pink panties and hands. Good mention on the crouch grabbers.
What do you recommend for my 1/4 scale Vader should I use the leather care products or uv protection I’m a little confused as to what would be the best way to go about it
@@onemanshobby890 yeah I think the gloves are rubber but the boots and his sleeves , torso have a lot of leather looking stuff I’ve had him in my room which is pretty dark but thinking of it I should start maintaining it better since I spent so much on it lol
Yep!! 😡 I’m from England and the humidity can get to 70% 🥺 and yes, my pleather figures are affected by it. Mainly Dark Knight Catwoman, Bane’s coat and Thor’s legs. 😭💷💷💷 And my loved Batman DX02, the rubber cracked on the bent elbows.
I protected all my leather on my Terminator figures with a special leather sealer. Takes time to do it because you have to take off all the leather close and belt off the figure to paint them but it will never flake away. You can fix the one that starting to flake off too. I just got a sideshow Indiana jones premium statue use and the leather jacket has started to flake off so i will do that to restore the jacket. I will have it on my IG wen its done if you like to see that. My Terminator already there. @Nofearcustoms.

Weatherstripping is essential. Wish I’d done this on my Detolf cases sooner.
That's okay mate, it's never too late to start using them.

Love the look of hot toys but can't afford one
Could you please upload how to fix a pleather jacket that is damaged.

Yes definitely, Hot Toys are more for display than posing with. Those 1/12 scales are made to play with
I'm not sure what the Video Game Spider-Man series figures suits are made of. How would you suggest taking care of them?
