Thanks for watching! What are some of your tips for collectors?
About the pre orders... If you like me and don't like to wait 2 3 or 4 yrs for something to come out and gets delayed... I would just buy parts of the figure once it's out...such as a complete body costume with no head or buy the head only and rest of the body later...if you compare buying for instance a diecast mark 7 without the head and no extra parts it could range about 300 where you could get the head about 100 150 or so.... you probably pay 400 which is the regular price it came when 1st release whereas if you buy complete it would be 8 to 1200 now...it also depends how popular the character... Buy a Marty McFly' head could range 20 to 150 on the head and the body with clothes could be about 100 or so... So the figure may cost 250 in total compare to aftermarket prices of 400 600 dollars so you still be getting the normal price the original came out. Again it's depends on how popular the character is... A mark 7 would cost 8 to 1200 whereas a James bond could cost 80 to 200 maybe depending on the quality of the figure.
Another good one is 303 Aerospace Protectant this does all rubber as well, many collectors use this too...Cheers
Thanks for the info!
@@thejediknightswatch You are very welcome and thank you as well...We do need to know how to address these potential issues of care as we have indeed invested our hard earned cash!! Cheers Mate
Great video! Looking forward to more.x
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the tips, very helpfull!
No problem! Glad we could help!
I recently acquired a used Infinity War Thor, but the knee and ankle joints are a bit loose. Is there a way to repair this? I cannot see a way to remove the clothing on this figure to expose the joints. All the other tips in your video were very helpful . . . especially how to get rid of smoke smell.
I have endgame Thor. Let me take a look and get back to you!
Very informative and nice vid. I've seen ppl using/talking more about 303 Protectant. Have you ever tried it?
Haven’t tried that yet but will def look into it!
Hi your video is very Imformative about Hot Toys figures, since I got my Star Lord GOTG Vol. 2 I get worried that the pleather will deteriorate overtime, I don't know how to take of the suit before and I got it as used so the suit is kinda old. Sames as my Wanda from AOU. Love then both but they're not that durable 😢 so I'm thinking to get a Die Cast Iron Man next time...what is the downside of the die-cast? New subscriber here... Cheers! 🎊
Only downside to diecast is that they are heavy lol. If you use detolf cabinets you don’t want to put too much weight on each shelf. Also the joints may become loose over time with the weight, but I did a video on how to fix that!
@@thejediknightswatch ok thanks bro.. And more power! 😎 🇵🇭
I use the same faux leather material conditioner. Never had an issue. Actually ones i bought used like the Crow or DX13 pleather looks darker and is softer after conditioner use than when i bought them. Great video. I remember trying to find this stuff out when i first started and it was difficult
Thanks for watching and sharing! The conditioner def helps this far. I didn’t realize how fe Crow figures were still in great shape until after I sold mine. I do miss that figure.
Does museum wax damage the feet or pull any paint off the figure? Been wanting to use it for my superman
I used it briefly and never had an issue. I went back to stands when I got moducases.
Hey cool tips man 👍🏻 btw where did you get that stand the one that bvs batman was on it?
Thanks! It is actually the stand from the DX12 Batman. I turned it around and used it for the BVS Batman.
The Jedi Knights Watch oh okay cool thanks it fits really well
Great video. I noticed with the Predators series the figures are very prone to wear. The harness for Tracker's hound is very bad to the point where it almost disintegrates. Its put me off buying it. I wanted to buy all three game reserve predators but Berserker and Falconer seem to have problems also. I just hope my Heavy Weaponry Wolf doesnt have any problems.
I actually had ordered the berserker on eBay and he came with his pleather all peeling and a strap broken. Returned it right away. Stinks cause I really like those figures.
I recently purchased the Arkham Knight Batman figure second hand on eBay and noticed that his long ears are slightly bent. I was wondering if you would recommend hot water or a blow dryer to get these back into shape. This is my first Hot Toy and I don’t want to mess it up. Thanks!
That’s iffy. I’ve always been reluctant to use those methods because I’m afraid of messing it up as well
Awesome video man! What did you use to black out the back of the glass and the the shelves?
Much appreciated! I used black felt fabric and adhesive to the back of the detolf. Check out our IKEA detolf display video for how I set them up! Thanks for watching!
The Jedi Knights Watch im going to check that out man thank you!!!
Great video man! Been collecting since 2014.
Thank you!
Any vids of tips on the background and floor? I tried curtains from the outside but it doesn't absorb the light from within the detolf. I would love to get it to look like yours.
We did a video not too long ago called “New IKEA Detolf Display Cases” where I briefly talk about it. It’s basically just black fabric from a hobby store that was cut to size and hung up using double sided gorilla tape. It doesn’t lay the flattest on the shelf and I’ve since taken those out, but some people use construction paper for that. Hope this helps!
Great information thanks
Your welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great channel I’ve been collecting a few years learning the ropes, lot of investments but great hobby plus I’m looking to learn how to do a channel my concept is a bit different i own a personal training studio inside an art gallery 3000 square feet so I’m into combining both should be fun
How to maintenance the hort toys suicide squad batman suit and cape? Mine SS batman rubber suit have a little bit flaking, I'm not sure what material is that
I have recently seen issues where that style of suit is starting to breakdown, but I am also not sure exactly what type of material that is. If I find anything out I will let you know!
That's for leather...but what about fake leather (pleather) I had something like what you had and use it and it just came off. Another option just buy some extras jackets if you can find better quality 1/6 jackets...it's kinda weird I have Terminator from both movies,. The police shootout Terminator were in storage for years took them out and both jackets completely destroyed flaked all over....my t2 version also in storage and completely fine...very weird.
Faux Leather is artificial leather aka Pleather, so this product is made for it. I have also looked for replacement parts, but some are very expensive and could have the same problems down the road. So far this product has worked well for my figures. No signs of deterioration.
Awesome video, very informative. A lot of tips give shared I have done. Hopefully everyone does them!
Thank you for watching! Appreciate it!
Very good video I really liked it
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
My Infinity War’s Thor pleather pants continue crack few portions… even I applied 303 on it… 😢 even when I just unboxing in day 1, has a little crack…
Would putting silica gel into display case address the humid issue?
Actually even my room has humidifier and air con…
Sorry to hear that! I’ve never heard of silica gel, but climate is everything. Also handling pleather with gloves can extend the life of pleather.
Are your Terminator’s Pleather jacket is cracked and damaged? Or it just part of original design?😅
@@kokweit other than the battle damaged areas of bullet holes and rips my jackets are still in great shape. I don’t use 303 anymore, I just focus on climate and handling with care. So far so good
Unfortunately. My side is tough, cause of Singapore is an island with humid… sigh…😢
@@kokweit 😔
I use a woman’s eye make-up soft brush for applying the pleather treatment and another for brushing the dust away. It’s the eye make-up brush that women use for the eyelids. It’s very soft and small. I also use a facial make-up larger brush for the dust on the figures.
Great idea! Love the user name btw
Just another tip to keep in mind... THE BOXES TAKE UP LARGE SPACE IN YOUR HOME. Our 3rd bedroom is filled with only Hot Toys Boxes. The boxes take up waaaay more room than the figures do. So if you are going to start collecting...make sure you have plenty of room for the large boxes the figures come in with. Lol. 😁
Great tip most people don’t think about!
That damn Black Adam box is huge asf lol
Question, have you ever dealt with Entertainment Earth and if so how are they?
Sorry but we haven’t used Entertainment Earth. Mainly Sideshow and EBay. We would use Toys Wonderland but their shipping is a killer.
Do you use that cleaner on your vader figure? like his suit part?
Yes I have been. Has been working well.
@@thejediknightswatch how often do you recommend cleaning your figures?
@@hightimecollectibles I’ve been doing every 3-4 months
@@thejediknightswatch what kind of wipes do you recommend to go with the cleaner?
MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloths, 2 PACK www.amazon.com/dp/B0043XZEEC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_bO0SFbHJX1G6Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My Superman is Chris Reeve Superman so I'm good on poses...the problem with that figure it's a snag magnet too much touching and threads come out. Same with 66 Batman
Ah that’s def a bummer too. These figures are so delicate
I am Japanese. How do you care for Hot Toys rubber figures?
Best thing you can do is keep them out of direct sunlight, in a humidity controlled room.
@@thejediknightswatch thank you!!
I had this issue with Hot Toys John Wick. The belt is made of a bad quality leather. After two months, it cracked. It is totally useless. I contacted Hot Toys, to get a replacement. I was willing to pay for that. Their customer services sucked. Considering the high cost, they could use a better material. A normal leather jacket or sneaker don't peel as Hot Toys accessories. And I live in Brazil, which is the most corrupt country in the world. Here, a regular Hot Toys (250 dollars) costs 600 dollars. That is why I am leaving the hobby. ThreeZero gets to produce really elaborated figures for 150 dollars. Hope they get more licenses in the funture. But, in the current state of affairs, 1/6 action figures became a luxury market.
Sorry to hear that. I def agree that hot toys is a luxury market. I also am very impressed with threezero’s quality. I’ll have to keep an eye on my wick figure now. Thanks for the info!
Does the dark knight rises Batman hot toys need cleaning?
Nothing more than a dusting from time to time.
