I’m surprised nobody is talking about her comment right after the hand: “I thought you had Ace-high…” and then she realizes that wouldn’t justify her call. It just looked like she was trying to rationalize her call in the moment because she wasn’t thinking about WHY she called, only THAT she called (because maybe someone told her to) and then suddenly she had to come up with a reason for doing so (and her first reason was a bad one). Hi I dont know anything about poker and see this is a newer comment so Im hoping somebody could answer some questions I have.
About stuff she says _before_ the hand is over. Why is it suspicious she said she didnt have a 3 but later said she thought she did? Or in the same vein why is it weird she said she had a bad hand when she really did.
In the first case isnt it normal to lie in poker?
In the second case Doug says normally you project the opposite of what you really have, so if you have a bad hand you pretend you have a good one and vice versa. Isn’t it just like classic reverse psychology then to say you have a bad hand when you really do have a bad one? I’ll be honest I always thought this was a big part of poker, you can never really tell when your opponent is being honest or bluffing.
Finally my last question, I see on the board it says she has a 47% chance of winning the pot, if she was cheating wouldn’t she know she has a bigger chance of losing rather than winning? Or is the implication that she actually knows what card is going to be dealt? I thought if youre cheating you know what cards your opponents have but not what cards are coming out of the deck. If its the former situation (she knows whats going to be dealt) that all makes sense to me. If it’s the latter case, why would she go all in on a hand where the math says she has a 47% chance. Wouldn’t a cheater want to completely avoid a situation like that, Even if she had a 51% chance if you’re going all in there’s a good chance you still lose everything right? How does that work in this situation?

The only plausible explanation that she’ll never say - “I’m still fairly new to the game. I think I’m pretty good but clearly sometimes I still get confused and make really shortsighted decisions. I felt strongly he was bluffing, and I was blinded by that because I wasn’t even taking into account that I didn’t beat 95% of his bluffs too. I started to realize that once the cards were flipped, and how truly lucky I was. I then started to get embarrassed at that point and got defensive trying to save face. Then once confronted about it off the table, that’s when it really set in just how bad that play truly was. I LOVE being on camera and started worrying that they wouldn’t want to have someone back who does such dumb things. Also, I started to realize that if this blew up and continued to get immortalized, my current and future backers likely won’t give me another cent unless I’m willing to do other things when I’m settling up. So my immediate reaction was if I just give Garrett his money back and sweep this under the rug, maybe we then just go back and pretend like nothing happened.”

I don't know much about cheating in poker. However, what I do know is that in 5th grade we had these cards at the corner of our desks, and when we did something good our teacher would come and write her initials. 30 initials and you got a prize. I cheated the hell out of it. I would always earn a few, forge most the rest, then earn the last couple. One time this kid who I didn't get along with called me out for some of the initials looking suspicious. I panicked, and said "well I earned them, but if you want to make a big deal out of it I'll just erase them" so I quickly scrambled to erase the last couple. Teacher still came over and rightly realized me erasing them is a pretty good sign of guilt. Anyway, this is all to say when cheaters get caught, often the strategy is to placate and give stuff up that they earned from cheating. I see literally no other reason she gives back that money to Garret. I don't buy the "he cornered and threatened me" story for one second. She got caught, called out, and went into damage control placation mode, just like 5th grade me. Only difference is I wasn't cheating to defraud people

Give me a break. - the most simple explanation is generally the correct one. She made a blunder, hence she wanted to run it twice to hopefully get lucky. I don't care about anything else, or what she said. Look at what she did. She had it ran twice. The game is on a 3 hour delay. Once again, she does not fit the profile of a cheater. She is rich, educated, and works in the field of oncology. She does not need to cheat. Cheaters do not give money back. Ask the professionals; cheaters run and hide with the money. Why? It doesn't take into consideration mistakes, weirdness, or just terrible play. I've watched hours of people debating how she played the fripping hand and people aren't just getting that she could have just played a hand that doesn't make sense if you can't acknowledge that people have a right to play a hand that doesn't make sense.
What I don't like is how she was attacked. Could she have cheated? Of course. Did she cheat? There's no evidence other than a weird hand. But after all of that, a whoooole bunch of people are harassing her with no evidence. She was attacked on the table enough that she thought she had to give the hand back because people couldn't accept that she did a weird play.
And that's it. She could have cheated, but without evidence, you must default to her just playing a weirdassed hand.

WOW! I'm a technician, and when you show her supposedly "tapping her foot" and her belt was moving, I very quickly realized that even if her foot was tapping, the movement of the belt and the device attached to her belt in the back were moving "independent" of the rest of the body reacting to the movements. Meaning, the "origin" of that movement was centered around that device. Not from her leg coming up into her midsection.
I played it back about 30 times because I wanted to be damn sure I saw what I saw and there is a great distinction. Anyone who wants to press this issue forward legally, I'd HIGHLY SUGGEST letting an expert see this one particular side angle and giving you their opinion. But to me, there's enough distinction in independent movement to justify/warrant an investigation.
HOWEVER upon another examination, there could be an alternative explanation. Sometimes these players, because of long hours of sitting, will use a back massager that is electronic. This very well could be an electronic back massager. However, that too could be an excuse and it looked to come on "independent" of her selecting a switch. So it could still be the signaler and a well placed excuse that it was just a back massager.

Occam's Razor is she didn't cheat. I was initially on that side. So... damn I hate to say this but... past few days just casually checking hands, I can actually see a way there's a cheat in play. Basically, I just mean there's a pattern. Which could mean absolutely nothing at all, but it is a pattern. I have a long list of notes with specific times but I'll truncate it here:
Her time chip is the signal. That's literally all there is to it lol. Whenever she gets into a dangerous hand, the time chip is her signal out, she receives an answer, and is literally never wrong. She is not wrong a single time using a time chip. She makes something like $220k+ off the time chip plays and avoids a ton in losses.
That in and of itself isn't a smoking gun, but we're trying to think like a cheater here, and this is where a 2nd pattern emerges: the curious part is there's typically only about 5-10s after using the time chip when she makes a decision. And on two occasions she pops a time chip before she's even asked for time, and then she still takes only 5-10s to make a decision, making the time chip pointless. The only time she uses a time chip realistically is "The Hand", but in that one I kinda feel her demeanor actually changes quite quickly after that chip goes in.
I dunno. Just putting an iron in the fire, or stoking it, or pissing on it, whatever. Also, for the chairspiracists out there, her chair wiggles almost every time after using a chip lol. I don't think it's her chair btw, but an EMS causing spasms is feasible. I do think on one vid her chair wobbles very quickly yet her legs aren't even moving. I dunno what to make of that. Also, Rip DOES NOT know what the hands are. After the first Jack-high fold, she's actually caught on camera mouthing "Jack high" across the table to Rip. So he's an interested party and if there's cheating he's almost certainly involved because he staked her, but he's not the tech side of it. He could absolutely be the one who signals her the times to play the actual signal as she does look at him constantly, but again only a pattern (and not an uncommon one for players who know each other playing at the same table).
Edit: btw, if you'd like to see what got me chasing Time Chips, it's this one on the 2nd day. Puts time chip in. Chair wiggles. Calls. Swish.
    ruclips.net/video/LuWAV3Cf7g4/видео.html
And this one just for funsies. She looks like she physically vibrates lol, alternatively it could be the camera wobbling? The outright grimace could just be ol' regular poker, or is it? Is it the Zapruder film of the chairspiracy?

So now all you have to do is look at how many time chips that ALL players have used and figure out what their correct play percentage is.
For example: if a player (cheater) has used 100 time chips and they chose the correct play to call or fold, then I imagine that percent would be quite high, like 90%. It's probably closer to 95%
A legit player would be lucky to be 75% after 100 time chip plays, so look for 90-95% - and 100% obviously would be a no brainer for cheating.
That's how you find the cheaters. Easy.

Here let me summarize his arguments:
    1. You simply assume away the fact that she *definitely* has access to information about the cards from some external source...Uh what? "Some way or another she's getting information."
    2. "There's a vibrator in her chair." I just tapped my foot and it shook the back of my chair noticeably without shaking my torso/upper legs. Not to mention the fact that vibrators *make* noise. This kind of thing would be easy to pull-off with an actual mini-vibrator in a very specific place (you know where) and it would definitely not shake the entire chair...
    3. "She doesn't play how I/the pros *think* she ought to play." Holy shit - welcome to human psychology and poor decision making in a game with incomplete information. This argument is pure conjecture.
    4. "She uses double-reverse psychology, which is rare" Okay, cool? She's free to do that? It doesn't matter how "rare" it is?
    5. Misreading her hand: wow - imagine misreading your hand or even misspeaking in a stressful/high stakes situation. "It's IMPOSSIBLE to misread your hand!" Lol, what? Do I even need to respond to this?
As if the lack of evidence wasn't enough, Occam's razor says she's not cheating. There are more assumptions you have to make in order for her to be cheating than for her to be just be playing dumb/randomly.
Why are poker analysts always to reluctant to admit that there's still sooo much luck involved in the game?

It makes way more sense that she started with, "I'm a boss, call you Jack high!!!!!" because she genuinely doesn't understand why that's not a thing. This is evidenced by all her explanations, which make no sense whatsoever.
Then Rip, or someone told her, "Hey you can't say you thought you were good there" because that person does know enough to realize this. So then she switches to I thought I had a pair of 3's.
BUTTTTT, even after that she's flip flopping her story in conversations with Joey and Deeb, why? Because the truth is, as shown, she KNEW she had Jack high. So she's slipping when she says that, but realizes oops, and quickly jumps back onto the narrative of "I thought I had J3".
This kills me because I love poker, and no matter the outcome of this, I feel this hurts the game.

Not everyone thinks the same way about poker. Some people play more intuitively, some people don’t know the math, some don’t have extensive experience, some have not play a million hours of poker online and learned all the strategies. You can’t know what someone else is thinking. Someone less knowledgeable and less experienced can still have balls enough to bluff their way through anything. And even a broken clock is right twice a day. I’ve always wondered if I got on to one of these tables, you’d probably think I was cheating or something due to my lack of poker knowledge and skill! 😊

Pretty sure the vibrating is her tapping her foot. My wife does it constantly. Any "vibrating" cheat indicator that shook her whole body and/or chair would be overkill I would think. But I still think she was getting info from somewhere. That hand made NO SENSE to any human on the planet. Using the time chip while "tanking" on whether to call an all-in with Jack high tells me she was waiting for someone or something to tell her what to do. Just my humble opinion.

    • @101perspective
      @101perspective 3 месяца назад +1

Yeah, I never even seen any actual evidence she was cheating. So, I doubt anything came of this. All they really have is her making a hero call with a weak hand. Something the other person was doing also. She just happened to be the one that won. Btw, I've also seen Polk make tons of hero calls also. Yet, we don't think he is cheating.
Personally, I think she just made a soul read on him. Which isn't that surprising since they were business partners at the time and she probably knew him very well and played against him all the time. It's also probably why she offered to give the money back. I know I would if it meant possibly saving a friendship... and especially if it meant saving a profitable business relationship. At least in the heat of the moment that would be my knee jerk reaction to do. I know an actual cheat certainly wouldn't offer to give that money back unless they knew they had been caught red handed... which obviously she hadn't been, considering we are still sitting here debating it.

I know this is fairly old, but I just saw this. If you look at the moment at 12:10 Doug is saying that she leans forward so that you can't see if her middle is shaking/vibrating. However if you watch her head closely between 12:10 and 12:15 you can see that her head is shaking at the same speed/frequency that Doug showed earlier when her middle was showing.

Riddle me this. How do we know that Garrett did not know Robbie's hand and think that she could not call based on knowing her cards? If so the Prick thinks he got double crossed. Maybe that is why he saw a ghost. It is possible in my opinion. I realize a bluff shove with outs has become sort of standard but that does not make it unimpeachible. Also, Robbie could have wasted a time chip on a previous hand just to slow the bully down. If Garrett was your suspect you could find all sorts of strange plays by him. Also lying about your hand or strategy on the poker table is standard. People claiming that incorrect statements made by her on or around the poker table is strong evidence are just laughable. If you started with a bias that Garrett was a likely cheater who has won consistently on the show you could come up with all sorts of suspicious play. A comprehensive investigation should also look at Garrett's play over time. You could come up with suspicion against almost anyone who has ever made a move. Is this whole thing scripted after the chess situation to cause a stir?

I am glad someone else caught this. His move in was a very risky play against someone who called flop, raised turn. If you give her a Ten (weakest legitimate hand raise) and she found a call. His move in would cost 40k since his equity against a 10 is 35%. if she has a 9, it falls to 30%. If she has t9 its almost nothing. So he wants a fold to win 40K pot at that point. So he is risking 140 to win 40k pot which might cost him more than 40k against someone saying they have a hand through a turn raise. What does he think it means if a recreational player calls a flop and mini raises turn. I have played holdem for 35 years in casinos. I think thats more a sign of having a big hand hoping for a move in than a j4 bluff.
I havent done the specific math but in rough math terms, he has to be sure she folds more than 50% of the time to break even UNLESS he knows that she is holding j4. The play of the hand provides greater evidence that he is cheating than her.

Garret went to talk to the floor managers & accused her of cheating. She offered to Garret to give him the money back if it's going to make him happy & play. Garret said yes give me the money back, forced her to give him the chips back, & left the table like a sore loser. She didn't give him the money back because she cheated, she gave it to him because she didn't give a f about the money. The money was nothing to her. She's just a typical woman who runs off emotions & genuinely is a caring sweet heart female. & Also cares more about having Garret, Andy, & Phil Ivey staying at the table because it'll market her more & give her more publicity. Garret lost all the respect in the world to me after this hand. Daniel Negeranu, Phil Ivey, even HELLMUTH would never do such a thing like this
