- This is the ONLY video I will ever make with just tool sounds. 🤣 I don't normally include these sounds in my videos as it's not generally the type of video I want to create, and I have sensory issues and have to wear ear muffs often while working...BUT.. I do know that a lot of you DO enjoy them, and you've been asking for them!
I hope you enjoy this little ten minute video of some super satisfying finish and paint removal clips from several pieces I've worked on since starting my RUclips journey. All of these clips have full length videos- I will add them below. As always, thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Clips are from the following videos:
• DRAMATIC WHITEWASH & B...
• STRIPPING PAINT & fixi...
• WHITE WAX vs WHITE WAS...
• EXTREME RESTORATION- M...
• RESTORING a MID CENTUR...
• Restoring a Walnut Mid...
• ODIE'S OIL || CHERRY D...
• “UN-painting”- SCRAPIN...
• RESTORING a mid centur...

NOTE: This video isn’t going to appeal to everyone. I, myself, don’t care for tool sounds and often wear ear muffs when working, and it’s why I choose to leave them out of my main videos. BUT.. many people do enjoy them so this is my one and only work sounds video just for those folks. :-)
UPDATE: I clearly should have just left the acronym ASMR out of the video because omg, some of the comments! Hahaha THIS IS WHAT RESTORING FURNITURE SOUNDS LIKE. There’s no way to sugar coat it. Sometimes it’s grating on the ear drums, and yep, stripper goo can be disgusting. That’s literally what this job is. I never expected so many people watching a furniture restoration video to be repulsed enough by actual furniture restoration to announce their departure from this channel. Clearly, this job or hobby isn’t for you. Lol You’d have to listen to it daily for hours on end, like I do.
I’ve removed some of the nasty comments because I think these folks were definitely lost. 😂
I'm with you. You don't ever have to make one of these again, for me. I don't get ASMR, wear hearing aids for hearing loss, and more noises bother me than please me. My new fridge is getting on my last nerve when it cycles. But thank you, you're a trooper.🤗👍
I love seeing the grunge removed by the way, but don't even need music.😁
I have to admit, it's not my favorite, but I love the sound of a broom sweeping cement in my garden.
I like both. The tool sounds are soothing for me. I also enjoy when you talk so win win 🙂
@@beckymiller6703 Bunnies chewing and munching hay- my ULTIMATE. ❤️
I'm not going anywhere, Angie! I thought it was awesome to compile this stripping/scraping video! You do a lot of hard work to get your pieces to look amazing and it only makes sense to show the steps to getting there. Thank you and kudos to your never-ending hard work!
I don't know what's better; the sound of the scraping tool taking off the finish or the sight of all that old (latex?) paint coming off in sheets. Cool video!
I LOVE the satisfaction of removing layers upon layers of paint 🥰
I wholeheartedly approve of this video. I have misophonia and weirdly enough, this soothed me lol
Believe it or not you're one of only two furniture transformers that I can watch because the others have too much yak! I find your voice soothing and your accent a delight (as a non American 🤣). I watched all of this because...nice but I like listening to your thinking and planning too. Your work is FAB! 😍
This video brings me back when i solely used paint stripper . I love the look of real wood.each and every piece has a story through dents ,stains , burns. bringing life back to discarded furniture takes alot of time and patience . your work is amazing.
The white and green monster was quite satisfying
This was a strangely beautiful exercise in watching you perform your finely tuned skills. There are just soooo many furniture hacks out there using terrible procedures, poor form and overly rough treatment on the pieces they are trying to save. Not to mention being flat-out sloppy and rushed. You clearly have a gift and a deep love for rescuing furniture…I love that about your videos!
The sound of your tools makes it real! Beautiful work as usual. Never disappoint.
Well this is satisfying, frustrating(for you at times, I'm sure) and soothing all at the same time. Thank you for sharing this. This gives a small glimpse into the reality of how much work goes into what you do. You're the very best Angie!!! I watch and look forward to each and every one of your videos with such excitement! I've learned so much from you. Can't thank you enough!
Thanks for the video! I LOVE those sounds! Especially the scraping! I know, it’s weird! But it means that work is getting done! I must say I do love your sense of humor! 🤣
Fun video to watch AND listen. If you wanted to do another one down the road, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings.
Well, that was a satisfying and soothing way to start the day😃
Well done! Consider a video featuring application of stains and oils. I particularly like to see the richness of the wood grain appear when Odies (sp?) oil is applied. The audio might be music.
That’s actually the next little bonus video coming! ❤️❤️
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery
Yayyyy!
I don't necessarily enjoy the sound of tools either but it's you so I HAD to watch. I will say it's much more relaxing when you're not the one holding the putty knife LOL. And at 9:10 oh man that wood was gorgeous I kept rewinding back to that point it was so pretty thanks for the video
I listened all of 6 min. Sometimes like chalk on board. ❤️ U Ashley!
for every scrap dry/wet....is a resurfacing of the past that was once hidden....and a piece with stories and history thats allowed to breath and shine once again , i find this soothing and exciting to see whats underneath.. thank you angie...
That was alot of work
Oh yes!!! Exactly what I needed to lift my spirits! Thanks for making this compilation!!!
What a lot of work! Wow! Its going to be gorgeous when you are finished! Can't wait for the final reveal of this piece!
It's a compilation
Lol, it is a great video, seeing and hearing your video, makes this Grandpa happy, I’m interacting with life again, I m house bound, love and ( greetings) from France 🇫🇷🙏🫶🫶🙌🙌🙌❤️🌷🌹 thank you ,
I love it! Scraping and stripping are my favorites! Thank you so much for this.
That made my brain feel so much better, thank you
I didn't watch this video for the sound, but rather to watch the stripping, scraping and sanding. I love to watch the gunk be removed and the fresh canvas be revealed.
Three things:
1. I love how you work and watching you work (not in a creepy way! Lol). You take care and have a methodical approach and your results are beautiful because of that.
2. The woodgrain that emerged as you scraped around the 9 minute mark was absolutely gorgeous.
3. I think someone else mentioned it too, but I love hearing you talk about the process. You don't hide your mistakes, but learn from them before you fix them. You articulate things in a way that is clear for those of us who want to learn. You have many gifts: your talents, your humble attitude when a piece ends up being spectacular (honestly, if I could do half of what you can, I'd be showing everyone and bragging my face off!), you are an excellent teacher, and just an all round good egg. And you have a lovely speaking voice. You just sound like a genuine, kind, lovely person. Thank you for sharing your journey with us 😊
What an incredible comment! That made my day, thank you! Thank YOU for joining me on my journey and for leaving this comment. ❤️❤️❤️
My goodness, I have never seen anyone with such patience and dedication to the painstaking process of bringing these pieces back to life. You are simply a marvel. 👏👏👏
Ok, seriously, that was fun! 😊
Well this was surprisingly relaxing….
Ewie, gooey, scrapie, smoothie fun! It must be so satisfying to see all that beauty under the gunk.
I don't like the sounds of scraping and stripping, and especially not the sound or feel of hand-sanding either. To me that's 'fingernails on a chalkboard' screech, and I'd just rather ... not. I'm glad you made and posted this video, though, so people can see what's involved and that it's so much more than. A LOT of work, not all of it easy or pretty, goes into furniture salvage. I admire what you do and your results never disappoint. Thank you.
I agree 100% lol
Not a fan of the sounds, so I usually have my ear muffs on. Lol
Sooooo satisfying Angie💖
This ASMR thing cracks me up. It's like the furniture version of pimple popping! (I love your work)
Bahahaha oh gosh.. 😂😂
I love pimple popping videos LOL
Just what I needed to go to sleep :)
You are so awesome. Thank you for doing this for us 😍💖❤👌🤌
Not for me, but I do love seeing the old colors revealed. I steamed wallpaper/paint layers off my 1948 walls and and I was intrigued by the colors and prints that were fashionable in their time. The green colors you took off reminded me of what I imagine the war years looked like.
Never thought I’d enjoy scraping sounds, but man - I do! Seems my brain works in mysterious ways. The gloppy paint though… ugh!
Great video as always Angie - thanks. 😊
Love the little pop up and disappear with ear muffs on 🔵☺️🔵
Never thought I was an ASMR type of person but this was awesome
A very satisfying compilation.
Magnifique pour faire une pause 😌
Hate the sound but love watching the paint come off.
I kept alternating from "Ahhh, this is strangely satisfying" to "Oh, man, my arms are killing me just WATCHING all that scraping." Either way, that was pretty cool. Thanks!
Agree! I said, "Wow, that girl has some powerful muscles!"
now do a video of all Mr. DeWalt being used!! P. L. E. A. S. E.
I like your voice. Some tool sounds are nice but....knowing how you approach the projects and the products you use is important.
It is strangely mesmerizing and satisfying… 🙂
This must be one of those ASMR videos, I don't quite get them but I did enjoy seeing all the nice wood you uncovered. Painted pieces are nice and I guess there are times when painting is the only thing you can do but my favorites are when you showcase the natural wood beauty.
Ahhh that's better! 🙂 ♥
Seeing the paint being stripped is soooo satisfying
Finally watched the full video and most of the scraping was actually pleasant. The only ones that get to me are the squeaky-screechy ones. But for the most part it was satisfying to see the wood emerge from under the layers of yucky paint and old finish. Love the transformations you do.
Hey Angie,I enjoyed this- kiddos for attention to proper prep work on your pieces. I benefited from your scrapper sharpening tutorial slipped into your recent video. Brought back memories of my Dear Dad who I learned a lot from & caught his passion for saving trash. Furniture refinishing was his therapy hobby. Now it’s mine. I have a special request: paint brush care & cleaning - just whatever you do so you can get the most life out of your brushes.
Of course i want to see and hear everything while you are working on a piece .💙
So satisfying seeing wood set free!😂
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
So satisfying!!!!
The stripping is SO satisfying!!!
Nice start of the day. And where is sanding ?? 🤣🤣🤣
These are some of my favorite sounds!! Love it, thanks!
Thank you for a satisfying ASMR session! Hadn't thought of scraping furniture but it surely hit the spot. Totally enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching!
This was fun! But only because it’s you! My husband was laughing at the faces I was making. Some of the “strip” was extremely goopy! I loved watching all that white paint come off. Also, watching the reveal on these pieces was lovely.🌸
Hahahaha, aww Deborah, you’re awesome. :-)
What an interesting concept. I listened while watching the fireplace burn on my television.:) Hope you have a great day! Lol
Angie, great job ….well my thoughts have gone from, wow how relaxing, how satisfying, how real to omg gross, mucus lol….very much love watching your skills 👏👏👏
Haha yeah, it can get pretty nasty looking at times lol
Ha. Just do you. Your videos provide sooo much information and value. It's why they are my go to resource.
Ooooh scraper sounds
😂 love video and yes super satisfying
Wow! How great is the paint scraping and the scraping in general 🙌
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 68 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼
I wish we could get that quality paint remover in the US. It is so satisfying to see whole sheet of old paint come off.
Love it! Would love a longer compilation
That. Was. Aweso.e!
What a treat. TY
I'm really enjoying this. I especially like the sound of the scrapers on the varnish. But my daughter wouldn't. She's like you. She can't even stand the sound of a knife scraping out the last of the margarine from the plastic tub. Thanks Angie, for doing this video.
Thank was such a relaxing way to start my day! ☕️ ☀️
This was such a fun video!!!
Loved it!
The soft, satisfying sounds combined with the sometimes icky, gloppy, goopy visuals was comedy gold. I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would.
The goop is my favourite lol
My granddaughter is really into ASMR, thank you
Ugh the scrapper had my skin crawling 🤣. Had to ff on that one ... The rest... Luuuuved!
Thanks for this treat👂
Loved this!!! Sat with my coffee, might watch again with a glass of wine! Cheers 🥂 💕
Loved it.
Yes it's very satisfying at this speed. Not so much at normal speed😜
Yeah I don’t mind it sped up at all!
That was so satisfying lol… but damn u make that look so easy. When I do strip and scrape paint off pieces…. It doesn’t and isn’t that easy AT ALL!!!! Lol but in the last video I just watched of yours…. You explained how keeping ur scrapers sharpened helps so much.
A sharp scraper makes ALL the difference!
Absolutely love it.
I got really into a cobbling youtube page during lockdowns because they released an asmr video. Thanks for sharing more details of your craft
You're very welcome! 😊
OMG I loooove this! So satisfying 😍😍😍
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I love the sludge bucket🤣
I love all your videos!
I "liked" the vid because your work is always awesome. Had to turn off the sound. I don't get ASMR, and quite frankly the sounds of scraping don't work for me, but watching you strip the old finished to reveal the treasure underneath is just super. Keep up the awesome work!
Hahaha I LOVED the video!!
The sounds didn’t bother or interest me but I loved watching the scraping process 👍
You’re never gonna pls everybody- and as you said, this IS what restoration is about!
Agreed! Thanks so much for watching!
Don't you just love those pieces that have 5 layers or more of paint over the original stain and shellac??
They are sooooo satisfying. And honestly it like a history lesson of the piece! I love uncovering layers. :-)
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery i have an antique sugar commode to do. I can tell this is going to be fun. Lol
They painted it purple and black over it. No idea what's underneath. Looks like a halloween piece. Scary
very relaxing video, haha. thanks!! nice channel!
Very funny ha ha, strangely satisfying..........
Very cool. 😊
What a music !!!! ♥️
ha ha love it!
I'll have to say that I turned the sound off because I'm not into ASMR but definitely enjoyed watching the process.
Haha yeah this one is special for those folks who do like it. I’m not personally an asmr fan, I’m weird about certain sounds, lol.
I think it's different if you're doing the work because there are other factors of satisfaction that go with it. I'm weird though because I like silence. I don't need or honestly like background noise.
I really needed this. You have no idea. Thank you. Get rid of that garbage in your life/on your drawer. Good riddance! Also more, please.
I love that take on it!
Thank you for putting this together, I'm sure it was a lot of work. It is appreciated! 👍💅🎇🎆😺
You are so welcome!
Totally unique. I enjoyed this video and gave many thumbs up to other comments that I agreed with.
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
peelies!!!!!!!! lol love it
Haha yes!!!
Your pinned comment makes me realize why I am an ardent fan of your channel - love your personality!! I guess it's a good thing you didn't suggest people "get snacks" before settling in to watch 😁🤣
Hahahahaha, I DO love snaaaacks but yeah… not for this one hahaha!
Wow…..do you have any idea how many pieces you have done? It is some what relaxing….only because your doing all the work!!
Easily multiple hundreds!
I enjoyed it. Would you consider doing a video (and maybe you have one already) on when to strip, when to scrape and when to sand?
I have videos up where I do all three methods - usually the title will give you an idea of which I'm using in that video. I usually will only sand a finish away if it's basically non existent or if I'm on solid wood. I'll scrape usually over veneer with SOME finish, or a lighter/damaged finish, and I'll use a chemical stripper for removing thick finishes or multiple layers of paint. I'm not a fan of using a heat gun to remove finishes, although many people do like it. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
So funny that you would make a video of just stripping finishes. But even more funny that I would the whole thing.
Haha! Was literally for those folks who are always asking for one. It’s a one off, and it’s certainly gotten mixed reviews but was happy to do it for the folks who like all the scraping and paint stripping sounds :-)
I cannot possibly explain my reaction to this to make any sense, but it just made me laugh! Throughout the whole thing! Maybe it was an internal reaction to, "WHO does a 10 minute video of this?" I don't know, but it was the strangest version of wonderful I've experienced, maybe ever! You are an absolute delight! To the core, delightful!
Hahahahha!
