I’m a diesel mechanic since 1986. I love watching you go through a machine and get it running. A satisfaction non mechanics can’t relate to. I hope you can continue this work for a lifetime. You’re already seasoned. Imagine your confidence in 5 to ten years. Thank goodness these machines stay fairly simple. Great channel. Your camera work and editing are fine. Don’t change a thing.😀
Yeh it’s cool to watch, it’s a blast to do too that’s why I gave up my 1” plus size wrenches lol too old for the heavy stuff so I tinker with toys now. Merry Christmas
I’m not a mechanic and I’ve seen almost every single one of his videos and I very much enjoy watching him figure out all these cool vehicles and their quirks.
@@Puffdaddy-j1y you should get a project bike and have fun with it. Besides learning a lot, the feeling of restoring one and it running great is so satisfying. Kick it once and it fires up and you stand back and say, yep I did that. Grab an old junker and tear it apart and see what makes it tick. You can read stacks of books but it’s all in the doing. Great hobby because you get to ride the finished product. Merry Christmas
@@deborahchesser7375 I totally agree. Merry Christmas to you too!
he does good for the most some things makes me question though
Finally a Honda again! Enjoy these videos and learn a lot
This man just got the best deal ever on a holy grail quad in 2024. Well done Joe!
Absolutely insane find. Deal of the year easily lol. Deal is so good, idk if I can believe Joe 😂
There are so many quads better than this unless you don't go outside the early 90s.
I bought one way nicer than this in 2022 for $1800.
A really cool machine. I wonder if he’s going to keep it.
I had a red 1988. When you had it at the land wide open around the bend it brought back some good memories.
Heck yeah! Keep it up man. Great to see how much your channel has grown. Just sipping coffee and reliving my dirt bike years! Had a neighbor that would let me drive the 4 stroke version of this quad….too much for a 12 year old kid.
That sounds real nice, that's the sound of dirt bikes in the 80's and 90's
I can smell the Klotz right now just from hearing it.😂😂
Nope, doesn't have a bog. It has break up instead and it was very clear to hear. Break up can be caused by 5 different key issues. Joe, I think you should listen to it running again from when you were out at your property and investigate the issue because that quad could run a heck of alot better if you can figure out which issue is causing the break up. It's definitely a nice quad, even better if you can clear that up.
I couldn't believe he thought it's running good. It had alot more potential. And something I don't understand is. He gets alot of bikes running. He can repair things. But on start up he's obsessed with revving revving revving. If it runs just let it warm up. He doesn't have the patience. And I know he's been in the comments and seen plenty of us mention this. I've been rebuilding 2 strokes since the 1990s my family were ama Moto x racers I learned from them. And I know if I don't like something don't watch it. Got me there. But wow
Could you elaborate I’m having this issue
@@MarkAlan-no7mb And I can't believe how funny the both of you actually are 😂😅😂😅😂
I'd say she's running great! Looks like you had some nostalgic moments there. 😂😂. They truly don't build them like that anymore. What a great quad. A good friend of mine patented many parts for the 250r quads, built race engines and raced them for years out of Wooster, Ohio.
I miss my 1987 250R Fourtrax should have never sold it, brings back the good old days !!!
I'll say Joe that quad overall looks as if it was taken care of. The case and frame all looked better than you usually buy great find joe!!
Nice machine, it amazes me how you took that entire carburetor apart and knew where to put it all back together, even how many revolutions to replace the screw!! Jesus, I’d love to learn how to do that. I can get it apart no problem, just back together is my issue.
That Shoebill is one spooky looking bird!!
Joe can probably reassemble it blind folded.😅
@ he’s a big baby.
@@Bmg009 the Shoebill? Gentle giants? I love watching videos of them!!
Strip a carb down then rebuild it take pics before hand it’s the only way to learn good look bro am trying to learn as much as poss joes the man.
I got a glimpse of this quad in your last video. I was like what's that? Can't wait to watch this later.
Just started watching this video.. this is in beautiful shape.. even if u end up doing a full rebuild, still got a killer deal..watching to see how it goes
This guy has no problem getting an engine running.
Great looking little quad, now let's tear it apart! Again, thorough diagnostics leads to quick repair. Thanks for the learning/teaching moments
Great buy on the 250r! Winter jetting is different than summer jetting so don’t be surprised if the bog comes back in the summer air!
That sounds like a big jet too, it howls on top in 😂. I think you're right about the bog coming back in the summer.
He needs to do a proper plug reading and I’d definitely upgrade the air filter system.
Exacly opposite.@@Gq85-ui8ho
Tell you right now that ol boy just simply does not know how to ride a tuned 2-stroke. 250R's got that high compression and will foul plugs and seem boggy if you're not rightly riding high rpm's and in the bands constantly. The "R" in 250R is for a reason. 😂😂
You got the best deal I've ever seen on such a highly sought machine. Another great one brother. Been with your channel from the early days and it is awesome that you are getting the views you deserve man. Love the channel, and I think you have there the best deal you'll ever find lol.💯 Good shit.🤙
Can ya'll just smell the Klotz just from listening to it run? I sure can. Smell like nostalgia. 😂 #LetItRide🤙
That's what I was thinking! Only bog I thought I heard was when it was first taking off in the low RPM range!
I agree with ya GOTTA ride it like yer MAD at it! 😛
Insane Insane crazy crazy 😂does your family have mental problems to much crazy and Insane coming out of your mouth
Like he stole it!!!🤣🤣🤣, which he did steal it!!!💪🍺🤠🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂🤣😂
There is no way I would sell that bike, looks wonderful and sounds even better, thats a keeper Joe. Be interested to see what color the oil was after that trip on the land
I agree
@@Christian-ew4egbest thing he could do is get rid of the filter. Get a foam uni or twin air.
Great looking Quad Joe. It sounds really good and fast, 2 great deals in one week can't be bad. All the best from the uk 🇬🇧
I've watched several of your videos at this point. I'm not even sure how I ran across your channel in the first place, but I love motorcycles and ATV's. I work on my own cars when I can and watching your channel has inspired me to learn to work on my own bikes as well. Keep on bringing great content bro. I like watching you work your machines, then take them out for the test ride. Great job!!
These bikes look so much better with the stock fenders instead of shaving all of them!! Honestly reminds me of my white and red banshee other than front end and headlight. Still sounds like its hesitating down low on video but that could just be the video causing that if not it just needs different jet. Beautiful 4wheeler for sure would love to have one to go with my banshee's
Joe, a foam filter will hinder performance as they don't flow enough air. I have run pleated gauze (K&N) filters in my 86' Tecate 3's, 85' & 86' atc 250R's and the 4mill stroker Banshee I currently own. If properly maintained, they do filter fine particles. Before Outerwear's came along I just used pantyhose as a pre-filter. I use foam filters for offroad applications. That's a keeper, for sure. Trans oil gets black because of the wet clutch. Don't sell it !! Mrs. 2 vintage had a permagrin riding the free quad you got her !! Hi from Orygun
I have used panty hose on my k&n filters too 😂 they worked great
a twin air foam filter does a good job vs stock foam filters who are real thick often
i do use k&n on my 4 stroke quads. honda trx300ex, now my raptor 350. in the airbox without outerwear (will put on my raptor)
my banshee runs a twin air fooam filter but i glued with silicone the airfilter cage to the box cause i didnt trust it staying in place... now it wont move atleast :), thinking about putting a k&n with the mount hardware on but also kinda scared for my engine with k&n on the banshee...
I may have seen you at horsefalls since your from Orygun. Ride safe my friends...
Totally false
Absolutely wrong. All you people that pull airboxes off to run those stupid pod filters shouldn't be allowed to own tools. First of all they dont filter better and even if they did they are meant for street use never off road. Just because a lot of people do it doesnt mean its correct. I can personally guarantee you dont know more that honda about air filtration and air flow. Also nobody seems to be mentioning the fact these call for 80w and he used 10w40. Literally 8 times thinner than it calls for. That bottom end doesn't have much longer to go
Amazing video, because of you I will dedicate my life to being a motorcycle mechanic!
Can't wait to start my journey!!!!
Wow Joe, that has got to be the cleanest quad I have seen you work on, and I am only 2:53 minutes into the video! lol man that thing is a Rocket! love it.
Great condition for a 1989 model, it looks amazing for such an old model.❤️
Those torch tip cleaning tools work great for cleaning carbs. Glad to see you got one.
I like to use a piece of welding wire to clean my carbs and jets. Works great.
@ I’ve done that as well but found the tip cleaners to clean just a bit better with the sandpaper like rods. Plus having all the different sizes in o e tool is really convenient.
torch tip pen drills are mint
Much better than guitar strings
Be careful with tip cleaners, it doesn't take too much to enlarge the hole. My kids 125 honda 3 wheeler had a thumpy idle after using tip cleaners. Now I use stainless steel wire.
Love watching you get all the bikes atvs etc going. You are very very talented! ❤
Now this is something I can approve of. This is a gem right here can be worth up to 9k all day. Your machine is worth 7k looks pretty clean
Why the 2k difference?
With it up and running I bet he can get $7500 within an hour of posting it for sale on marketplace
Gonna be hard getting anything or 7k. I know people that collect these. They want them as minty fresh as possible. There is some issues and such on his where he won’t see that much. Scratch’s and if everything is not oem that also hurts value
It appears that you need a complete airbox setup for this thing. The only things I could find are aluminum airboxes that list for $199 on Ebay.
they are expensive!
@@2vintage airbox is pretty important. Worth the money to get it back to stock. Honda spent millions on research and development to get the proper flow for that motor. And someone just tossed the box and put junk pod. Those pod are junk even with a sock.
@@andrewroberts8993 I don't know about millions...but you're right, there was thought and development to get it right, a person shouldn't just toss it like it doesn't matter.
I’m only 1 minute into the video and I can already tell you it’s a good deal. There is no amount of work the bike could need that would make $2500 a bad deal.
I saw this in your driveway when Jade rode that phoenix back up to the garage. Looks sharp.
Best machines ever made! My old man ordered a new one in 86 & had it by June of that yr. I had an 85 ATC 250R for 15yrs. I restored it back to new after riding it for yrs. I just sold it last yr. I bought a new banshee in 09 & had a LT250 Quadracer by the time I was 11, I must of been 90lbs soaking wet….😂Best machine are those 250R’s & you can’t kill em if you maintain them! Nice buy, don’t part with it, they’re getting harder to find….✌🏻💯🏁
He never keeps a bike. Just a buy and sell flipping flipping flipper.
@ Nah he keeps quite a few for awhile! But if he does sell it then he does…🤷🏻♂️ Definitely be smarter to sit on a bike like this because they keep going up in value, especially for the nicer ones!
@@murk1352But it’s at the very peak and tail end. Same with BMX bikes like GT performers etc going for $3k+ It’s us grown men at peak of our careers buying our childhood toys back is all it is and we’re getting OLD. Next gen won’t pay what we’re paying for these things.
@ No way, that’s like VW beetles baby boomers are really at their end & they’re still going up! Just cause it doesn’t seem like it, the millennials are into four wheelers & some are smart enough to know that the 250R is the best, they’ll keep going up! It’s gonna take another 16yrs before I’m 65 & these bikes won’t be cheaper or at the price they are now, especially with the economy. A mint one of these will be 25k by then! Nothing ever peaks unless it’s crap….🤷🏻♂️
Try white zip ties when checking oil. 😊
Good idea, never thought of that.
He usually does use zipties but it already had the oil checked screw so why not use that.
@@tedkowal1 not white ones tho!
@@Scriph yeah. That’s true
@@tedkowal1 he was saying use a white instead of the black one he used in this very video, and most video, white would just make it easier to see
Nice to see that you got a great deal on this one with only a few minor issues. Yes you lossed your bargaining power on the second machine but on the other hand you got two from one source and that too is time and money saved.
That's an awesome result Joe, it looks clean and looked after for a change 😅 goes like a rocket
Brother, that sounds sick in a great way.
Looks like you had way more fun than normal during the test ride!!!!
Awesome machine!
Never hurts to find (an almost impossible to find deal), and discover the only thing wrong is a plugged jet! We all know it doesn't normally work out that way for ya.
Keep the great content coming, my friend.
Cheers

It's nice to see you getting excited about a cool bike. I've been watching for awhile. I enjoy your videos. I just watched the one with your wife. She's cool too. This bike does just look like a beast! Great video
I love watching your channel man brings me back to my days of riding keep up the good work.
Is it really necessary to rev it so many times, i dont get it, you are a tool
Back and forth ,ride in a circle same thing every time, so lame
Jetting is good cause you had nothing to do with it
Only thing wrong with it is the RIDER
At least the title isn't "No Professional Mechanic at Any Dealership in the World Could fix This Quad" this time.
... hopefully those were new craftsman tool boxes you had under your bench, you deserve them...
I started working on my toys when I was 10, I used my dad’s tip cleaner (he was a welder) to poke when I was cleaning carbs.
Had an '86. That's a keeper, especially if you have a place to ride. '88 and '89 are rare and were considered the best race quad. From appearance, the seller had well over 3K invested before surrendering.
** Corn gas is usually the culprit of most small engines.
If case oil is low , and no leaks check oil seal inside the engine. Crankshaft seal
I would love to see you work on the King of Quads, the Suzuki LT500 Quadzilla! I had one years ago, and that monster was amazing, even stock. After upgrades and minimal engine work, it was scary fast! Those machines have caused many riders serious injuries or death if they didn't respect the raw power and torque coming from something that probably shouldn't have been made, but many of us are glad they were!
🤔I Love Suzuki products, normally easy to figure out and work on. From Minnesota so I see lots of Polaris and Toros
Well, he had a Suzuki 4 wheeler with a 750 on it lol!
2 early morning videos this week I've seen thanks, snowing in the upper mi currently 😊
I'd raise the clip on the needle one spot , and change the main to 170
Definitely sounded fat
2-3 shift sounded bogged to me. Maybe too fat until you’re wide open in 5-6? Nice quad overall!
Around the 40:00 mark out in the field, don't listen to half these clowns telling you to drop the jet. Already sounds like it is breaking up pretty bad, coming out of the donuts, and shifting thru. See how the bike sounds better and cleans up as you clear the pipe when first in the field. BLUE AND WHITE SMOKE. Keep eye on rad fluid, with that white smoke. But back to what I was getting at, you where clearing the plug, bike had good blue smoke, sounded better and better the more and longer you cleared it. You should not worry about holding it pinned and letting the R's come up and plane out, if so then the motor needs proper work. Anyways back to the topic, I feel you are lean, get new plugs, learn to do a proper plug check with cutting the threads off, remove the motor from the bike and turn upside down, make sure a bunch of old fuel and moisture is not sitting in the crank and being picked up when running. A few tips homie, used to race the hillclimb series through AMA, was ranked 3rd in the United States and held the #2 New England Plate for couple year. WFO wide fukn open Grip it and rip it Brraaapppp ring ping ping ping #2stroke4life rd350 611cc, one my race bikes is a banshee running Honda 330cc pistons, rods, cr250 reeds and exhaust ports. 100+ hp of holy fuk 😅
I got to wonder if the sellers ever watch these and say "are you telling me the problem was only that?"
🤦♂You mean for a couple hours and $100 I could have asked for double the price 🤬🤬
Got an 88’ 250R & that baby will never leave the family. Awesome video & even better find!!
Nice find joe, as always amazing job reviving a classic 2 stroke bud
Deer hunters loving you today. Atv horsepower war in the 1980’s was awesome . Honda went from 110,185 and 250r in one year.
love the smell and sound of 2 strokes
Sounds like the old girl mostly needed some heat in the pipe and some wide open pulls to clean her out. It could just be that specific pipe, but it does sound like she's still having a tiny bit of trouble getting up on the top end of the pipe. 180 is a big main. I think your #50 needle is probably ok. I would try a 175 or 178 main jet. That should get her a little more crisp and stand her up on the pipe a little quicker. Bottom end still sounds a tiny rich. Maybe drop your needle one notch down in the slide to tighten that one up.
This vid was awesome. I had an 1989 250R back in 1993-2000. It had a Dyno-Port pipe, Boysen carbon Reed valve, Answer silence and Ohlins remote reservoir shocks. One of the biggest regrets I have is selling it. Don't sell this one! Keep her for life!
i simply cant believe he got that for 2500, WOW-you the man !
Get rid of the open air filter and find stock airbox
Nah. Just throw the sleeve on the filter. Those R's like too breathe. Stock airbox is simply too restrictive for the amount of air needed when the machine has been tuned. Like Joe and I already have said, just throw the sleeve on there.
I agree
Uhhh yeah screw that, stock air box’s are very restrictive. More air means more power. No air box bro that’s the way to go.
Open air filter is fine as long as you keep them serviced.
Man that bike for 2500 is incredible. what an amazing feeling it must’ve been driving home with that knowing what you were getting into. Since I was 14 years old, I would scour newspapers and local listings for lawn mowers, mini bikes, dirt bikes. Anything I could restore and bring back to life.
I just turned 40 and I’m still doing it to this day. It’s my absolute favorite thing to do if I could come up with $20,000 I would do that full-time.
Now I spend my mornings with my coffee, searching Facebook marketplace, hoping to find the holy Grail like you have here. Thanks for sharing!! we know these deals are out there. We just gotta keep looking and looking and eventually they start finding you.
If I won $25,000 on the lottery, I would do this full-time for the rest of my life
I was checking the prices and saw them for sale for $6k - $8.5k. So, Joe is spot on with the price. Great buy.

This is quite a nice-looking machine for being 35 years old. I love seeing these machines being brought back to life and taken for a rip around your usual testing grounds 👍.
This one looks like it was a great deal and an easy fix for you. It sounds great and it looks like it goes like it should 👍❤️
Good find! Those are cool machines! The "carb cleaning kit" comment made me laugh 🤣 You can use that to clean your gas welding/brazing tips too lol!
Hey Joe, wish you had some merch i could snag to help support/promote the channel. Nice hoodie would be great. Love the content brother! Hope ya have a great holiday!
Don’t give him any ideas.. I love that there are no commercial interruptions..
Your vids never disappoint. I have watched them all and I have learned a lot. Your good at what you do bub
Per moto tassinari(Vforce reeds) the reed petals allow better flow vs stock and work better with smaller than usual main jets(depending on the issue) sounds like it breaks up just a bit revving out.. Otherwise what steal Joe!! Happy for ya dude! Long live 2-smokes!! 🤙
I was thinking it was a tad rich as well. Wish I could find this steal for $2500.
@ you ain’t lying brother!! Talk about a unicorn 🤯
A little tip to jetting it, get cranking wide open in 3rd or 4th right in the middle of the Power Band slam on the back brake and hit the kill switch at the same time stopping the motor dead right in the meat of the Power Band. That's why I've been jetting my race bikes, customers race bikes and just bikes in general for 25 years and hasn't failed me yet (a factory Pro Circuit mechanic taught me that when i was 15). You seem to know what you're doing but that's the best way to check for correct jetting. No "plug chops" where people cut a spark plug in half......that's just ridiculous.
I agree, works best with a new plug. You can also do this to set needle position.
Your going to have to build onto the side of your garage just to store all your four wheelers and stuff you fix lol . Thanks for another great video.
Hoping to see a palace on his land, Oshkosh World of Wheels, a mini version of Jay Lenos garage
OK then… One of your best deals and finds and videos in a long long time. So the big question is, WHEN IS THE NEXT VIDEO DROP??? 😂😂😂 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Running in 30 min I think that may have been one of your quicker start ups nice find Joe .
Your editing is perfect. Best hour on the tube. Couple more laps and you’ll have the whole field tilled for spring. Keep up the great work!
What a machine. Great job man 🏴🏴
This was my second quad in life. Grew up in so cal going to glamis on all major and minor holidays. Absolutely the best quad ever. My brother rode a banshee. I sure miss my old 250r.
Banshee and a 250R - life was good then. I miss my banshee and my brother misses his 250R also 😂
@Scorpionluva that's awesome. Those were definitely the good ol days.
Joe, The front tires are put on the wrong sides, LF needs to go on RF and Right front needs to go to LF. Chevrons are pointed backwards. God Bless
Not necessarily. My OEM 400ex tires pointed the same way. And had rotation arrows. It looks backwards but is right. I dunno why they did that.
Nope. Pause 1:12 look that arrows on 4 and 10 o clock.
They pointed the correct way now.... smh
I prefer backwards on soft soil and sand. It seems to keep the sand under the tire instead of rutting it out so bad.
@Jimdandymetals 100% correct I run my fronts the same way. They grip harder and don't slide as bad. 👍
Yea brother that was a great find and a great video keep them coming. Your videos are a big help in problem solving and self diagnosing keep up the good work i do appreciate them.
That 250r was a steal
Also good job correctly identifying the Air screw, LOL Im sure you know this, but to anyone that doesnt. A four stroke carb has a fuel screw before the slide, and a 2 stroke carb has an Air screw behind the slide. Dont forget to throw an inline filter in your fuel line! Try out some Dumonde Tech racing oil for your quads man, you will not be disapointed. Dumonde Tech LWHS trans oil. Dumonde Tech L111 2 stroke oil. The jetting is really rich. go back to stock pilot size and a 170 main.
Snowmobile times coming bud! Lets see some dirty triples get brought back to life!?!
You get what he gets not what you want.
Dude I love your videos I always watch as soon as I see em keep it up bro

I love working on clean machines that have been relatively well looked after. That is a good deal. I'm guessing we'll see what the other machine was that you had to pay full asking price for. Gotta love a good Honda.
I own a Motorsports shop just east of Kansas city. Pretty smart on cleanign youtr carb, good job. Here is a good way to clean you pilot jet and its simple and effective. Take a small butane torch, NOT map gas or anything heavy duty. Heat the pilot jet till it just barely starts to glow and stop. do not get it too hot, it will melt. Ask me how i know. LOL It will turn any junk in there to ash. Wait for it to cool and blow it out with compressed air. 100% clean every time. Good looking quad man! Got a DEAL on it.
Sweet deal for that machine for sure especially where I live.
Although it looks like straight gas coming out when you were draining it. I may be wrong but it doesn't look like it has any 2stroke mixed in with it🤷🏻♂️
It's you it was mixed.
Nice find ! Joe you get the best deals in Powersports equipment I’ve ever seen
It’s a ripper! Just a little quicker than the last one. Two strokes really have the power in cold temperatures.
That thang is running minty!!!! Good job and that’s a keeper for the stable my dude! It may not be all original but it’s deff a good keeper an not beat to shit like a lot of em are these day
Bro, im green with envy that you got that thing for $2500! Love your videos, man. Keep it up!
Don’t forget he had to pay full price for something else.. that we haven’t seen yet
In my opinion listening through a video it sounds like the pilot jet could go down a few points! Maybe turn out the air fuel screw. It was bogging at low speeds until the main jet cleared it up. That's a awesome bike though!!!!
Just love the sound of a 2 stroke ! Nice quad !
I was 15 in 1987 and had this brand new. Such a beast to ride, especially at a young age. I'd love to get my hands on another but they're stupid expensive!

I just found you 2 or so weeks ago and I've back watched some of your vid, of course, man I got to say your really sharp with these bikes really all of it and you haven't lost yet that I've seen, hope you never do. I know there are plenty of dishonest people out there, but when they lie stright to your face, what are they thinking surely your going to break it down find the problem, I suppose they never plan to do any kind of business with you again.... I've seen you make so killer buys, stay after it, love watching you win!!
Damn that's a straight ripper, What a fun machine!
He was ripping that bike for sure .
I have 2 1987 TRX's and they are the best 2stroke made! You scored!!!👍
First like 👍🏻, all the way from New Zealand 🙂🇳🇿
I'm so thankful for people that can't be bothered to clean a carb. They've given me so many good deals over the years 😂
Do you find that to be the main issue with the non runners is just a simple carb clean?
@bleu_chzst924 I always assume the worst and try to pay accordingly. I bought a bike last year that was supposedly running the year prior. It ended up needing the cylinder bored to the 5th overbore. The valves were also badly pitted. However I've had many that just needed carb cleans. I bought one last week that likely just needed gas and a battery, but I cleaned the carb anyway.
It's always a gamble buying non running vehicles.
Ok, Jade's turn to ride it now!
That won't happen.
My dream bike. Beautiful and fast as my x wife. Lol I have had 2 250R 3 wheelers have always wanted a four wheeler. My good buddy let me play with his one weekend and I will never forget it or have been on a more fun bike. Nice find. Definitely a keeper.
Maybe it’s just me but I can hear that thing is running a little bit down on RPM. I think you need to jet it down just a little bit. It’s just not quite up on peak power. It should sound a little bit different. It sounds odd.
It sounds like it’s just a little bit rich. It should be a little bit lean.
Never, ever, ever lean. Rich has never destroyed an engine, but lean has destroyed many.
@@POWER-LINKS i think you're mis understanding me its a fine line of lambda the ever so slight lean and engine runs better peak power
that engine is just over the fat side
@@steeltree-fabricatingandcu3796 The safe side, unless you race.
I think it's running lean. Reeds, exhaust and that high flow filter is letting in way more air. I doubt the previous owner touched the carb. Plus the exhaust is aftermarketet. I'd go up a main jet to start. Possibly go up on piolet jet also. Plus it looks like it's 35-40 degrees.
@@bobjohnson2920 i didnt factor in colder weather ...but he stated its got a 186 main thats huge ...i have a fl350 odyssey its running a 176 it has exhaust water cooled head better reeds it freakin screams ...most fun a man could have at 12000 rpm ...all i was saying it sounds off just a little ....sometimes a little means allot
Dam nice find! That thing absolutely rips! I remember wanting a banshee in 89 not fully understanding how much power they made. Now you got me searching mkt place for 250R’s
These bikes are sick great motors !
8:30 "not seeing any water in the gas...." Im not seeing any evidence of oil in there either....is that 2 stroke engine not meant to run premix fuel?
31:45 you see the big silver tank it holds oil
@@brockgoodnight3201 at 33:25 looks like a bright and shiny radiator air duct?
Edit....Also 35:30 "I just mixed some up at 40:1.....(checks fuel tank level) looks like we'll need to mix up some more".
Id be deleting that asap....lol premix for the win@@brockgoodnight3201
That thing f'n' RIPS! Joe, you scoredd on that quad, hang onto it if possible. Thanks for a cool video!
