- This was obviously done via game mods. I would release the pack but i don't know if it would work on other people's consoles, but if you wanna test it, lemme know. I'd love to release this on GameBanana or some other modding site. EDIT: Scratch that. Pack download in pinned comment.
The title screen is the Halloween one because Nintendo decided to overwrite the Final Fest screen with the Splatoween one since they re-ran it in 2020

Hi, I have a question about the tutorial. I don't know a lot about modding stuff, but it says to drop the file in your atmosphere, as if I was supposed to go to google and download it on my switch? Can you explain? Sorry if this is confusing lol
@@krissandwich69 yeah sorry about that. The guide is for people who have already modded their Switch. If you did mod it there would be a folder named "atmosphere" on the SD card. I would make a tutorial on how to do that but Nintendo would probably break into my house and steal my dog if I did that. However if you wanna mod it I can link some resources that will help you.
Alternatively, if your PC is good enough you can just use Ryujinx to emulate Splatoon 2 and use the mod with it

Man I started playing in early 2019, with my friends from third grade. I started during waffles vs pancakes and I didn’t know what was going on so I asked them “Why is it night time” and they fought over trying to get me on waffles or pancakes. Once I knew what was going on, we played every splatfest together until final fest. Where half of us picked chaos and my best friend and I picked order. We were so mad when order lost. We would always go in private matches with those colors and beat up my other friends and say team order should’ve won. Now a lot of us don’t talk anymore but it was one of my fondest memories.

This might be controversial, but I think splatoon 2 music is sooo much better. It just hits in all the right places for me.
Oh I completely agree Splatoon 3 music isn't bad or anything but I very heavily prefer Splatoon 2 music
For me I don’t know because I’m my opinion some of splat three’s songs are a bop (both of the front roe songs) but some are a bit lack luster I feel like for me I never got into some of the more pop sounds of two but rip entry in 2 is cool main thing I noticed is splat three pulls more from the punk side and two the more pop side
The music playing in the matches is the splatoon 1 splatfest song lmao. So technically it’s a splatoon 1 songs

is it weird to feel nostalgic for something I never got the chance to play? The song and area fill me with nostalgia even though I didn't get to play Splatoon 2 when it was out.

I never got splatoon 1 and I also got splatoon 2 whenever the splatfests were over (I think I got it in late 2021 or early 2022). I don’t have the 1st or 3rd game, but I would love to get them and have a Wii U again so I can try out the first one

I wish Pearl and Marina got more of a spotlight. This is the best Splat Fest theme by far. And the girls felt like an afterthought compared to Callie and Marie
Same here tbh. Pretty much the only time they seemed to have any sort of spotlight was when they gave Pearl a Killer Wail on the last Shifty Station.
I feel like they got a huge spotlight. They got there own shifty station and it was completely themed after them. You even got to use pearls killer wail.
Octo expansion (which funnily enough I first picked up during the og final fest) puts alot of focus on them. Unless I'm misunderstanding smth
@@Shy_Man111 yeah Octo Expansion has them as a major characters. Squid Sisters weren't even around for that. And it makes sense that they weren't in Splatoon 3 yet. They were never agents like Squids Sisters. And Pearl and Marina are also going to have major focus in the Side Order.

I wish Nintendo would add a game mode to Splatoon where you could play turf war and ranked modes by yourself against A.I. and could be accessible to people without the Online membership.
Obviously you wouldn't level up or rank up.
I wish they would add that too. But knowing Nintendo they would rather make it online only so that everyone has to buy Online. Kinda sad that modders have to add in something that should honestly be in the game already.

I'm probably not gonna download the mod but I started playing Splatoon last year. So I missed a lot of splatfests but it's awesome seeing a video of it! I commend you for the mod, it'll give people an opportunity to experience in my personal opinion from what I've seen the best Splatoon 2 splatfest.
That's exactly why I made this! I wanted people to either be able to experience it for the first time or just to be able to relive it

I was elated when I learned one could return Inkopolis plaza to its Splatfest variant upon scanning a Squid Sisters Amiibo in Splatoon 1; then, I was similarly let down upon scanning my Off the Hook Amiibo only to learn the same could not be done in Splatoon 2. This provides a nice work-around.
whoever makes the first time travel machine hand it to me cuz I'm heading back to when I was playing this game for the first time and I wanna play it not like a 5 year old who got the controller that was unplugged

The vibes of Splatfest in S2 were so much better than the vibes of S3’s. Idk.. maybe it’s nostalgia talking. S2 was my first Splatoon game and I cherish it. Splatfests we’re always the highlight of the month for me. S3 just.. doesn’t feel the same at all. It doesn’t have to be a direct copy of S2, but the vibes definitely aren’t there for me.

MC princess diaries was always my fav map even after chaos vs order!! Me and my friends would play it in private matches and always fight over pearl lol
I'm just saying, if team order won we could've had an insanely cool looking cyberpunk themed splatoon 3, but instead people want tenta missiles to stay in because of the lore.
Splatoon 3 splatfests are great and all but I really miss Splatoon 2’s. Inkopolis square having all the bright flashing lights and the idols doing the news on stage

I never moded a game before but this makes me want to the only splatoon 2 splatfest i ever did was reruns of past ones and seeing this i want to be part of it but im afraid i may get baned for doing so
you can always do it on an emulator, and also there are protections you can use to prevent bans (DNS.mitm to block Nintendo servers and Exosphere to blank out your switch's serial number while running mods)

I was using the scene changer on the Reinkify mod menu, the players were actually bots. I have Nintendo servers blocked when using mods because otherwise i would get console banned
Don’t know what will Splatoon 3’s final fest brought us, maybe that would create a even better Calamari Inkantation remix in that activity and everything is back

Running into an issue specifically with the v12 version. The game crashes after a few seconds after getting past the zr+zl menu.

I know right?! I'm really glad they at least let people play them in private battles. Though i do wish they added a toggle to put the plaza in/out of splatfest mode, or at least make it possible with an Amiibo like they did with Splatoon 1

Here's the thing: the logo isn't lost. There's a mod that replaces the normal title screen with the final fest one. I tried figuring out what the Splatfest title screen was called so I could rename the mod file and have it replace the Splatfest screen but I couldn't figure it out. If anyone can figure out what the Splatfest title screen is called in the game files, I'll be able to restore it.

I noticed something was kinda off, if you look closely the glittery ink doesn't shine nearly as bright as it did back during the actual final fest or even in private battles. Is there any fix for that ?
I noticed that too. It does look pretty much normal on some maps but on others it doesn't look right... Unfortunately the ink setting is in Reinkify so I probably couldn't fix it unless I dig around in it's source code. I'll try tinkering with some settings though and see if that fixes anything
@@PikaDoggYeah it’s weird, it’s been that way ever since it was implemented in Reinkify. I don’t know if it’s something the creator messed up or if the game doesn’t load it properly. The ink basically has the proper materials but doesn’t emit any glow.
How do you get CPU players in there? This whole time we could've been turf warring OFFLINE?
There's an option in the mod menu I used called "Force Bots" that enables bots in those offline turf/ranked matches I was using. But yeah if modders can do it Nintendo easily could, they just won't for some reason.

Yep! You'd have to host the games on a private server like LANPlay though, I haven't tested it but I'm pretty sure using this on normal Nintendo Online would probably console ban you

i find splatoon 2 better looking graphics wise, can't really tell why... the ink looks too bright sometimes in s3, splatoon 2 is less tiring for the eyes
plus now the new graphics make the game lag which never happened in s2
I am running into a problem when I install the Final Fest Forever mod. When I start Splatoon 2, it shows the sky as night, the Final Fest logo on screen, and the ZR+ZL press sound is also the splatfest sound. However, thats all the mod changed the game. The hub area is still normal, and sunlight is still getting in the hub. Color pulse also starts right when I start the game, and not after pressing ZR+ZL buttons. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to downgrade Splatoon 2 to version 5.4.0?
Oh yeah. That's residual files from when I was trying to as closely as possible recreate the fest without the actual files because I thought they were lost.
I need to know a couple of things:
1. What are you playing on? (Switch, Ryujinx or Yuzu?)
2. What version of Splatoon are you using? I only tested this on 5.5.0 and 5.5.1
3. Are you on Airplane mode? That seems to mess with the BCAT files for some reason.

@@Yusiina I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the mod. There have been a couple of other people who have the same issue. My current theory is that you need to put the BCAT files in the BCAT. To do that, you need to:
1. Right click Splatoon 2 on your main Ryujinx menu and click "Open BCAT save directory", which should open an explorer window to a folder named "0"
2. Open and/or extract the mod pack and go to 01003BC0000A0000/romfs/DebugUnderPilot/bcat . There should be a few folders, each containing .byaml files. Those are the BCAT files. Go into each folder and copy the files, then paste all of the .byaml files (as well as the.szs, .BPRM, and .BFRES files in the fesdata folder, as those are map and texture files for the Splatfest.) into the 0 folder from earlier. Make sure not to copy the folders and only copy the individual files. I remember this working for me when testing the mod on Ryujinx so hopefully it works.
3. Once you get them all in there, try running the game again. If it works for you too please let me know because if it does I'm going to make a version of this pack that makes setup easy on Ryujinx, because I know that setup is very tedious to do with the normal pack.

Y'know I never noticed but I think you're right! They do act alot like Octolings, maybe the mod developer just recycled the code for the Octo AI and used it for their AI. It would be a lot easier than making one from scratch

Very possible, I'd just have to edit start/end date again and replace FrostyFest's title screen

I'm using Reinkfy to play Turf War offline, and the Splatfest files are custom, i just took the original file and changed the end date from 2019 to 2099 so it "never" ends. I do plan to release the mod and make a tutorial soon though
EDIT: I might actually upload it to GameBanana w/ a link to the tutorial and make the tutorial itself unlisted since Nintendo has been copyright striking people who make public tutorials

No. You need the bcat (Nintendo content delivery system) files, then you need to edit the end date to whatever you want. This unfortunately isn't possible on an unmodded switch.

@@Luke_Fox5 This isn't possible on an OLED. You would need a moddable Switch from about 2017 to July 2018 for this to be possible. The reason you need an older Switch is because Nintendo accidentally left a vulnerability in the console hardware that was patched out later on. You could technically mod an OLED you'd just need to have someone install a mod chip which is a long and costly process.

You need a Nintendo Switch with modded with CFW to run game mods. I think you can also mod the game on an emulator like Yuzu or Ryujinx but I'm not sure how well mods work on those

@@kedinamite579 Custom Firmware, the most common one for Switch is called Atmosphere. It basically allows you to do stuff that the Switch normally cant or isn't allowed to do. To run it you need to have a Switch thats vulnerable to an RCM exploit. Some switches have been patched and can't run the exploit, others haven't been patched. you can check if yours has been patched or not at ismyswitchpatched.com/ if its not patched then i can send you a guide if you want

I'd have to get the files for other Splatfests, but definitely! Someone put the files for every Splatoon 1, 2, and 3 Splatfest on GitHub so all I'd have to do is get the files for the fest, edit the start/end date in Switch Toolbox then save the changes

If your Switch is already modded then yes you can install it. As long as your phone has an SD card slot it shouldn't be an issue.

How did you do it?
I found an archive of the Final Fest files somewhere on GitHub, I then changed the end and results year from 2019 to 2099 using a tool that can edit Switch game files, then I put it into my Switch's Splatoon 2 mod folder and it worked
Oh I also converted some .wav music files to .bfstrm files for the Splatfest music because I don't think the right music would've played otherwise
