I really would enjoy moray towers in splatoon 3. the maps are so flat compared to the previous games so I’d appreciate some vertical maps. I’d like to see all the maps from 1 and 2 appear again. They’re so much more fun than the infamous Tetris block shape. There’s actual variety.
it’s really weird to see how different the localizations of the first game were. the european version has ‘to me!’ and ‘nice!’ as signal buttons but the american version has ‘cmon!’ and ‘booyah!’, which eventually evolved into ‘this way!’ and ‘booyah!’ in all english versions. there’s other things too like changes to the battle finish screen and some dialogue, so its all really interesting
cool! I got a Wii U with Splatoon 1 back in January 2021, I'm level 35, nearly level 36, grinding for level 50!! I'd wish the server's would stay for longer tho!!!
Listen, I’m out here tryna race to LV 50, started from like lv 35 in september, and I’m still in a desperate frantic race to do it since I’m away from home and my wii u most of the week. Now, hate to say it as I might, there is an absolute 0% chance one can make it from 1 before the shutdown. But what I can say that I can advise ya yo do, from the experience of it all: don’t waste what time there is left. Make the most of it, it’s not a game worth missing out on. Even literally just OG mahi mahi makes it worth playing to the max. Even IF theres this pretendo thing to try out once its gone, idk if you’d go for that, so do give this game all the time ya can.
I only started playing Splatoon with the third installment since I wasn't interested in the series until 2021 when 3 was announced. I only went back and bought Splatoon 2 digitally for Octo Expansion when Side Order's second trailer was unveiled in September 2023. And I never owned a Wii U.
I got it back in splatoon 2’s early days when the original game still existed. 5 years and I still haven’t managed to play the original. I only have a few more months left. It would be neat if they ported it to the switch but that is not gonna happen. I really do want to go back to the splatoon 1 and 2 days where the game was so incredibly chaotic and wonky. Now they’re actually trying to make the game balanced so we can’t get double digit tenta missiles anymore.
amazing that people are still playing this was a huge part of my childhood. shame i cant go back for one match as wiiu gamepads are hard to come across nowadays
There's actually a secret weapon in this game that was removed from future entries. The Dual-Squelcher. It's like the jet squelcher, but with 5% less range and a better firing rate. Yeah, it was kinda pointless. Now we have the splattershot nova that does the same thing. Also the story mode is cool.
Splatoon 4 be on the wii U as april fools in like 2027-2029 would be the biggest troll and would make people decide if it's worth it for the newest installment or they just wait for Splatoon 5 etc, if they continue the series.

Recon? Broken? Ha, good one! 🤣 Also this is a _buffed_ version of the ability. Originally the effect would immediately end the moment you stepped out of spawn AND it didn't even show the enemy's weapons. Buffed or not, it's an absolutely worthless ability since conditions change way too rapidly for info acquired at spawn to matter. It wasn't even useful in competitive mode since Echolocator and callouts were plenty effective while still in the fray.
Since you bought the Wii U you should homebrew it and use it as a emulator. It can play games from the Wii, GameCube, N64 and more. Anytime I want to play old console games I’ll use the Wii U instead of my pc. It’s just a really good emulator
I remember begging my mum to buy a WII U for Splatoon but she said no 😂 I was okay with online gameplay videos for a bit but then talked myself out of wanting a WII U bc I gaslit myself into being too scared I eventually forgot about it for a while until I heard about Splatoon 2, and then forgot about it again and finally got to plat my first Splatoon game in Dec. 2018

no way im not the only one?? in july 2023 i decided to uh. ofc legally. um. to get it on cemu and played the hero mode- im not kidding. 12 times. until this christmas where i got a wii u for freakin $200 (thanks mom) and dudeeee. i love this game sm its so silly and fun to play!! i really wanna get the cap of legend since i love craig (actually kinda the reason why i wanted to get the console was so i could look at the 16th scroll erm.) buuut i dont think i have enough time since im only lvl 10 now and kinda busy HOWEVER could it be possible for players to host servers even after the shutdown? iirc when the game was under maintanance you could still play but idk if it will be possible to do it when the game officialy goes down yk? still i wanna get tiramisu to play the NA version for prefrences (got the disc for $39 cuz im in the eu) and since you CAN get the elite octoling gear (actually met a dude with it last week, though he did lose? eh maybe he was just hacking only for looks) so if you can get unobtainable gear in it, suuuurely you can also get the hat right? anyway inkstrike is fun im glad my main (inkbrush) has it! i cant wait to play more
I got my wii u in Christmas of 2020 so I can play Splatoon 1 and its the best splatoon in my opinion and now since the nintendo network servers are down I modded my wii u so I can use pretendo (you dont have to mod to use pretendo just if you want to keep your saves in another account since you cant use a account linked to nintendo network for pretendo) so I can keep playing Splatoon 1
for me because i watched this video it remembered me i downloaded a COMPLETELY legal copy of splatoon 1 on my wii u and i played online for the first time, splatoon has the best video game universe on all the planet, its honestly one of my favourite games, even if i almost never played But great video!
The signal was actually always booyah in other regions. My region has C'mon and booyah, while some other region (i cant remember which) has the standard this way and booyah
I recently got a Wii U Japanese region version and I don’t think was a terrible idea since heard modding exists and never had a Wii U and didn’t know it was exclusively on Wii U, excited it has Wii mode!! Always wanted to play Splatoon so it was incredible but I only made it to tutorial, haha! I hope my sisters love it just as much as me by time their bday comes around next month despite us just getting a switch for early Xmas present pft, excited!!!!

moray towers in 2 was an annoying for me tbh but with the specials (especially zipcaster) i can see it being much more fun in 3

The American version took a lot of liberties with the adaptations, that's why the european translation it's often being considered as the better one
