- It's pretty nice to have this since the actual Splatoon 1 servers got shut down.
Nevermind the official servers are back! This is still a super cool mod though.
EDIT: I just remembered, they announced the Splatfest results before the actual Splatfest because i messed up the dates in the Splatfest file

is this mod legal to develop or even play?
@@basedneutral1173 Illegal? No. But you might receive a console/online ban if you were to connect to try and play online matches. No one has gone to jail for modding a Nintendo game or system, they only get into legal trouble for enabling piracy which this mod does not do.

I believe that's part of Reinkify which is a separate mod for Splatoon 2, as I saw it in someone's gameplay video of a different mod where they also had it installed.
This looks absolutely amazing, the lighting, and textures on the maps look as if they were in 2 the entire time. Like a glimpse into an alternate reality where we actually had them ported in 2, or if Splatoon 2 was instead just Splatoon Wii U Deluxe or something. It’s pretty fascinating.

@@anarkuu i think its cause with modding its very easy to mess up the lighting of custom maps like this, in any game (for example early mk8 mods look really freaky), but here it stays true to how the game looks
The accuracy is insane. Even the running animation while firing with the aerospray is spot on

Honestly these are the maps that theu shouldve or reworked in splatoon 3. They masscured floundered heights like that.
Alternative timeline where the Inkling reveal for Smash Ultimate was actually a trailer for a Splatoon 1 port.
the plaza details are so much better than splatoon 3's. i love this so much
They really are! I think it's amazing how just a small team of modders made a better port of the Splatoon 1 plaza than Nintendo themselves

i mean its literally just a direct port of splat1's plaza with next to nothing added or changed to accomodate new gameplay mechanics from what i saw so. hard disagree? you are biased
@@nicodawisp I mean it's supposed to be as accurate of a port as possible so ofc they didn't change anything, I don't really think there were any new mechanics introduced in Splatoon 2 that would've affected the plaza so there weren't really any necessary changes to be made anyways

I would love if they just released splatoon 1 on switch as just a port. They don’t need to update it or anything just so I can play it’s online again

How did Nintendo mess up the maps worse than a modding community- absolutely no offense to them, this is completely amazing, just how did Nintendo, a professional company, mess up each and ever returning stage from splatoon 1? The gamebanana team made them look so good for splatoon 2’s style!
They're just that good at messing things up lol also I didn't create this mod, there's a whole team behind this who can be found on the Gamebanana page for the mod

I think the main thing they screwed up was how they resized everything. the maps now make the player feel comically large (or too small. it feels like both sometimes honestly?) so it was really refreshing to see them actually the right size in this mod haha

@@invisiblegoats3781I wouldn't say it's the size of the players. I'd argue the size change makes.the game look a lot better and engaging. The issue really comes from the maps themselves.
There's a reason why Manta Maria, Museum, and other maps feel translated well. Hopefully they can just improve on the design at some point for the new maps.
I can’t wait to see somebody make a mod for Splatoon 3 called “Splatoon 3 Ultimate” where it would have all the maps from the first 2 games (including the original versions of S1 maps brought back to S3) all the main, sub, and special weapons, all the battle themes from 1 and 2 (I mean it’s in the game’s files, why not?), all the gear from 1 and 2, all the shifty stations, and the remaining salmon run maps from 2.
I hope someday it can be real. 😢

Big Nostalgia for this. Some of these stages are still stuck in Splatoon 1 and I want them to bring them back.

The skip button is all we need for a good splatoon 2 (and the ability to travel to and from inkopolis square to the plaza.)

Oh right I forgot, thanks for reminding me! I fixed the description. It really is sad that official servers probably won't last too much longer, hopefully Pretendo is public by the time that happens.

Forget my last comment, I didn't read the online part. I'm pretty sure Splatoon 2's multiplayer is hard-coded to only allow 8 people in a lobby. I've never seen anyone get more than 8 on either Splatoon 1 or 2 so I believe that's impossible for now unfortunately.

Were the inkstrike and inkzooka already in the code of Splat2 or did some work have to be done to recreate them??
probably recreated because the inkstrike seems to be a modified booyah bomb while the trizooka is a modified rainmaker
All of the Splatoon 1 specials were in the code but unfinished so all we did was recreating the missing code 🔥

They probably could be improved by overclocking the Switch but besides that probably not. Hopefully the devs can find some way to optimize them better in later updates.

how did you download this? i’m having trouble downloading this mod. did you use a tutorial?
You just install it like any other mod, drop it into atmosphere/contents/*Splatoon title id* and open the game
You also need to be on Splatoon 2 version 5.5.0 (unless they added 5.5.1 support and I didn't notice)
How did you load reinkify and gamblitz at the same time?
I installed Reinkify then Gamblitz to make sure no patches got overwritten and it loaded. If you get any errors try completely uninstalling all Splatoon mods then reinstall both and see if that works

It doesn't unless you're playing on 5.1.0, which is currently unsupported by Project Gamblitz

No. Splat 2 uses a different engine. I think splat 2 and 3 use the same engine tho

I think the music bugs are being caused by the lag, and I'm not sure if that can be fixed, I'm also not a developer for this mod so maybe I'm wrong

if u wanna mod ur switch i reccomend investing in a seperate modding switch, it’s quite risky to mod your actual switch because even if you accidentally connect to nintendos network once with modified code, you’re pretty much immediately banned from ever accessing their network again

There are custom servers for this so you can play multiplayer (though lobbies are almost always empty) but adding a friend would require connecting to Nintendo though and connecting to Nintendo with this mod would probably get you console banned
im also not sure if there is pb support or not
So even if u tried disabling the mod (if that's possible), nintendo can still ban u (Also I forgot to mod my switch, lol)

Yeah, the Switch has to be modded but it should work fine on any emulator.

No, I used a modded Switch. Though Ryujinx does have some pretty solid mod support, you might be able to get it to work on that.

yeah I switched to motion not too long after this, Splatoon 2's motion felt really bad when I first started so that's why I was using stick
What about octo valley
Octo valley is the same as normal Splatoon 2. The only change is that the music got replaced with the Splatoon 1 story mode music

How are you playing online
This mod has its own custom servers, so I basically connect to someone's computer rather than Nintendo's servers. If I actually connected to Nintendo with this mod I'd get console banned.

Apologies for the late response. Your Switch being banned actually doesn't matter because the mod uses custom servers, it never checks if you're banned so you can play online anyways.
You can get weapons by going to Ammo Knights (warning: Sheldon will talk... ALOT.) and the stages are a toggle on Reinkify, I think it's Scene Changer > Versus > Gamblitz Maps > On after turning it on new stages should appear when you select a map.

Yeah, though this mod does actually have its own multiplayer servers, they sometimes host tournaments and stuff so you can play with other mod users
