  • In this video, I'm sharing some surprising updates to the way we treat and manage soft tissue injuries, like sprains. For a long time, we’ve been told to use ice and take anti-inflammatories. Well, it's time to rethink that advice! Join me as I reveal the new acronym we should be using and explain why these changes are so important. It also explains what to do in the first few days and then in the longer term, when to get back to normal movements and exercise. Watch the video to find out more.

Extreamly worrying, I will show this to the hospital today as I have been told ice and anti-inflammatories and weight bearing a must straight away this was also when I broke my ankle.

This is new guidance based on research, so not all policies and protocols have changed. This guidance doesn’t apply to broken bones though. Hope you’re on the mend soon!

Good video thanks - though I can't help but think the authors of the paper have overcomplicated an otherwise fairly simple thing :S

It’s not the easiest mnemonic to remember! I think some really key bits of info though that most people have no idea about and can make a real difference to healing and prevention of future injuries.

The oral contraceptive pill might be a good option, but have a discussion with your nurse or doctor.
