It’s interesting to see the difference between countries. It astonishes me that they can do the surgery right after the consultation as in my country surgeons need to respect a 24/48h delay to allow the patient to reconsider the operation.
same in my country. Plus they ask you to get some blood work and analysis to see if you’re in good health to undergo anesthesia and surgery. My mom got plastic surgery to get rid of her eyebags and she had to wait like a week to get the approval.
I would think they had some sort of real consultation at an earlier time but showed this same day consult/surgery to shorten the video. But maybe not. Wish they showed all the results somehow.
@@Swizzenatorthe results requite healing, which could take weeks or months, and even some follow-up surgery. I would assume that they have had pre-consultation and lab work done beforehand.
I understand the confusion. This is the second or third consultation for the patients who get treated right afterwards. There is a lot that isn't shown. Patients need to do scans, blood work, test like blood pressure as well. And then clean their face and mouth with specific pre-surgery cleansers. They also are not allowed to eat or drink anything before surgery. If the blood work reveals that you have low iron levels they will cancel everything and they will reschedule for 3 months later which gives you time to get your blood iron up.
The surgeon is very professional and efficient, but can we also praise that guide? He seems to be very experienced and knows which questions to ask 😮 makes me want to go there have surgery as well😂
as someone who is interested with rhinoplasty, i found this documentary as informative. 3 surgeries for a surgeon in a day is just right. however, i just want to explore more on their clinical pathway post procedure, during emergency and what is the clinic rating for infection control. another thing is the anaesthesiologist side, i havent seen any pre assessment from the anaesthesiologist before a general anaesthesia, not just with this documentary but most of the youtube videos i watched. i've seen many patients returning to nhs due to complications of plastic surgery, fortunately, not much from south korea.
S.Korea has some top notch plastic surgeons. Years ago I even flew from Zurich to Seoul just for a plastic surgery ( nose & jawline ). The result's AMAZING !
Was it difficult to find a good clinic? And to communicate your wishes to the surgeon? Did you have to stay long for recovery? Or fly back for aftercare?
@@Dee8BeeWell..I contacted an agency who specialized in that. They arranged EVERYTHING, from picking me up at the airport, taking me to see several surgeons from several clinics, providing translation, taking care of me after the surgery etc etc. I spent around 2 weeks in Seoul for recovery and after surgery check.
Asian Boss made street interview a trend especially pre-pandemic, but I think documentaries like this will always be the top tier content that Asian Boss will make. This was such an interesting documentary!
As a Korean, I was surprised to see the comments. I saw many foreigners criticizing all Koreans for having plastic surgery. But there are many Koreans who don't have plastic surgery, and there are also many foreigners who travel to Korea just because they like Korean medical services like plastic surgery. I don't know why this is bad if they have plastic surgery and they are happy. I respect their decision. life is once. Do it what you want! Thank you for the good content !
it is somehow the difference between the real doctors who shows their passion for the patient's progress, hope we can see another side of plastic surgeon, the really help individual to be more happy and sustain for the next life. Thank you Asian Boss for making this video ^^
Absolutely- especially after someone has had a mastectomy due to cancer, plastic surgery can be so helpful for people to gain self confidence/esteem after such a terrible ordeal.
But it's like an addiction. The more your try to correct the features more imperfections you tends to see and it becomes a never ending cycle. One surgery after another. Today your nose is you insecurity, you corrected it. Then you found you chin is not perfect and so on. If you are not confident about who you are then nothing in this world make you confident.
Actually the people who does the most plastic surgery is USA and Brazil. This guy would be like a divine saviour for em Americans and Brazilians😂. Just look over here as well we see many of them are non-Koreans
I mean I understand that many people have low self-esteem and lack of confidence. However, I must respect their decisions to go with plastic surgeries given the pain and certain parts of their body being sacrificed.
Although I am a woman at the age where most of my friends are getting plastic surgery I cannot go through with it because my mother has had an addiction to it for 20+ years. Seeing this video calms my anxiety about procedures knowing that there are doctors who care about their patients more than the money.
Oh I wish I saw the results of the first lady with the sunken in eyebads because mine literally look exactly the same. When researching what they can do about it here was that they put in hyalorounic acid there. This is the first time I have heard about putting in thigh fat there..
obviously do read up on this more.... BUT a big advantage of fat repositioning is that the chance of a foreign body reaction is next to none. also all these hyaluronic acid fillers are supposed to dissolve throughout time by themselves, but recent research shows that it's often simply not the case, that the HA filler just migrates further into muscles etc. that's also why it's brilliant that he's using ear cartilage as a nose filler, too, the foreign body reaction is incomparably less likely compared to using foreign materials like many doctors do. even if the bioacceptability of a material is high, using tissue from our own body still remains the safest by far. foreign body reactions suck. (i went through it as well with an implant that is supposedly super safe and had been used since decades... i nearly died. google breast implant illness.)
This was really interesting and well-done. From what I’ve heard, not only are Korean plastic surgeons highly skilled, but the procedures are much less expensive than here in the US. I’d be curious to know how the economics work out with everything included (travel, surgery, hotels, how long you need to stay before traveling, etc.) I,p’m sure it depends on what you’re having done, but does it still come out to less when you include travel?
it'll probably ztill be cheaper, and you get to travel. but you'd probably have to get a really good tranzlator coz communication iz vital with theze kindz of thingz
There's a reason why South Korea is pretty much the global leader in plastic surgeries. The results are amazing and from what I have heard people are more often than not very satisfied. If it helps people with their self confidence it's going to be worth it.
Korean’s in general are really materialistic and superficial - That really is a big reason why they are the global leader in plastic surgery - I was reading that 1 in 3 Korean women have had plastic surgery
This doctor sounds incredible. He gives such a good and relaxed feeling to the patients. It's such a good feeling to have when you're doing something that drastic. They look like they're in good hands. Also, it's great to know that there are translators approved by the government. I know a lot about this "Ghost doctor" phenomenon and how common it is, so having someone to trust by your side, who knows the rules, is actually such a good thing to have. Cause I know that if I ever get anything done like this, I will probably choose Korea to do it. They're really specializing in plastic surgery, especially facial. They do amazing work.
I'm an aspiring artist so lately I've been learning a lot about human face anatomy. I tell you: the number of muscles, bones and tendons, how they're placed and hoye they interact, it's bonkers 😂 Plus, if you're a surgeon you need to know a lot about the nerves, the vascular system, the tissues, etc etc. It's a hell of a lot of knowledge to process 😮
I remember reading an article written by a sculptor here in the UK. She was once asked to do a bronze bust of a woman who had undergone cosmetic surgery. The sculptor said that it was a totally thankless task and that she would never agree to do it again. She explained that, after surgery, the muscles and tendons - and sometimes bones - are displaced and it is very difficult to get a good likeness without it looking totally weird.
If i knew how much the doctor worked i would be scared before the surgery, you wouldn't want someone who is sleep deprived/ tired and overworked working on your body. I hope he gets paid well for how much he works cause 6 days of this is crazy
Its criminal how they abuse their medical students then residents and then their doctors. If it's up to me there will be an overhaul from the ground up.
@@ABAddonfromHeLL This over worked doctor is performing surgeries on people though. Correct me if im wrong but physicians dont do surgery. I work 2 jobs over 60 hours at times but my job wont kill a person. I'd definitely want a well rested doctor for a surgery.

Interesting video! I work in the mammography department, 99.9% of my patients in their 50s tell me they regret having breast implants because they were young and insecure. I'd never go under the knife unless it's health related.
@@fonzoNmeReduction is different, it’s corrective. As someone who developed DD at age 10, it kills your back. I have permanent spinal issues. Getting implants is cosmetic, and it can be corrective, but it’s very different from a reduction.
Me too and my late parents always told me that unless you look beyond bad then maybe consider plastic surgery. Otherwise, be happy with what you have since plastic surgery will affect your looks and health as you get a lot older.
I have very little knowledge when it comes to plastic surgery, so I always thought these surgeries would take alot of time to prepare, but they just chose what they wanted and got the operation done in the same day lol. Dont know why but this is a bit of a shocker to me, changing your body so fast and seemingly without much issue.
I even once heard in an interview with a plastic surgeon that they should discourage the person of actually getting the procedure and even make sure the person is emotionally stable. It's been a long time so I might be wrong or outdated.
It’s not fast. The guy said they do a lot of the preparation beforehand so that the in-person consultation with the doctor is more like a formality before the actual procedure
Prep work or not, its like the first time they see the doctor, they decide on permanent stuff after few minutes of explanation and then into surgery minutes later. If it was just a formality, they would not need to be explained all that stuff or decide what size or shape etc. how can you make such a permanent life altering decision on the same day, let alone in minutes? Most people take longer to pick out clothing then they do to pick what implant size or procedure they want.
Dr Jung is really good. His office/practice occupies an entire floor of a big building in Gangnam - the most expensive suburb in Seoul. The set-up is more professional than the surgeons I've met in Sydney, Australia. I also recommend Seoul Medical Guide as your medical agent because most Korean places don't speak English and they oversee every consultation and procedure!
I think what you are doing is noble! You help people with their confidence and insecurities! You help people who have had accidents or injury! And give them quality of life! Keep doing these great deeds!
Wow on the last lady. I didn't realize people wanted to look like they had plastic surgery. So that explains why I see people with obvious surgery and they are proud of it. I thought it always meant a bad procedure. I was wrong.

This plastic surgeon seems like one of the good doctors. However, it doesn’t change the fact that there are some plastic surgeons in this world who are greedy and have no conscience. Not to mention, many people end up with botched surgeries. I’m not saying these things to be mean, but unfortunately it’s often a reality. Personally, I don’t care if you get plastic surgery or not. It’s your body and money. Just do your research, weigh the pros and cons, and be willing to accept the outcome.
Wow, he looks so young and skilled. Usually plastic surgeons don't do many body parts but he is so good with it. I think he should do ''Botched'' like the Hollywood two surgeons Dr Paul and Dr Dubrow. He will be fantastic at that.
Is the plastic surgery process usually like this in other countries? It seems incredibly quick for such an invasive procedure. From a consultation RIGHT INTO the actual surgery? That's insanely efficient. I even have to make multiple visits to my dentist just to get a tooth removed.
at 12:50 the guy explains that they do a lot of the prep work freeing up the surgeon themselves to focus on the last consultations and the surgery itself.
its because of the guides i think, they are licensed by the gov and it seems like the patients know all they need to know abt the surgery before meeting the doc
@@jalfredprufrock620 They also tell you to walk every day to reduce swelling. The tourists just walk around Seoul for that reason. Medical tourism is also often combined with sightseeing, and you might get a guide for one day from the government medical tourism agency.
Muy interesante, en mi país no es factible realizar ese tipo de cirugías en consultorios, solo se realizan en hospitales y por parte de cirujanos plásticos, además implica análisis previos para constatar la salud del paciente, su reacción en quirófano y su posterior recuperación.
idk why but korean doctors, in korea and in the states, all have the same way of talking. that calm, quiet demeanor with minimal facial movement, but subtly pleasant? idk how to describe it lol
Plastic surgery is a metaphor for our obsession with external appearances. We live in a society that values superficial beauty over substance. It's all about the packaging, not what's inside. Do we really need to alter our bodies to feel good about ourselves? Isn't it better to focus on inner growth, on becoming better human beings instead of just looking good? We should be challenging societal norms and unrealistic beauty standards instead of conforming to them. Plastic surgery perpetuates this cycle and distracts us from addressing the deeper issues. Real beauty lies in embracing our imperfections and being authentic. We don't need to chase after an unrealistic ideal. Let's focus on what truly matters: kindness, intelligence, and compassion.
It's not that simple. What we think about ourselves doesn't change the fact that we live in such a society. Even if we were to remove any conscious judgement based on appearances, it doesn't change the fact that people with "better looks" based on societal standards are awarded more opportunities and higher standings.
I'm kinda shocked right know :D I did'nt know there are people who want to have a higher nose bridge 😧.. (I have it naturally and remembering my childhood i wished i had a smaller nose bridge).. ! VERY interesting Video. I enjoyed it and the doctor seems to be such a kind and professional person.
Well made video. Much appreciated. I like that it supports the idea that it is a completely normal thing to have plastic surgery. Without any stigma or prejudice. That's how it should be in a free society. However, I do not like how "feeling insecure" is so strongly being promoted as being THE most common (and, by implication, "valid") reason to undergo plastic surgery. If somebody is really insecure about such minor details such as a typical and completely normal asian nose shape or slightly asymmetric breasts, would that person be willing to show up in a video accessible to millions of viewers in the whole world? I don't think so. And, hence, I do not think it was the main reason for plastic surgery of those people shown in the video. It's perfectly OK to have plastic surgery if you absolutely want to. But be honest with yourself and don't pretend to do it because you are supposedly suffering so much from "feeling insecure". This false standard of "feeling insecure" as a "valid" reason for plastic surgery is very harmful to many young people. Practically everybody has a phase of being insecure in teenage years or as a young adult. That's normal and should not be misunderstood as a reason to look for plastic surgery.
Strange to go in and hear someone say “I don’t care if it looks natural” 😅 I worked for an amazing facial plastic surgeon and he would flat out refuse to do a procedure if it wasn’t going to look natural. “Their face is my resume so why would I want it to look less than perfect?” 🤷🏻♀️ The man had a point.
I would love to have lower blepharoplasty like the first patient had. I have been wanting it since 5 years ago, but I have excellent vision, even at age of 45, and I am so afraid that blepharoplasty will have a risk of ruining my perfect sight. I also have hyperthyroidism, which makes me even more frightened to have blepharoplasty. One thing for sure, eye creams are all are scams. I know that the only thing that can fix my horrible eye bags and dark circles are blepharoplasty.

The documentary style, edits, interviews, were all very well pieced together and made it for incredibly educational, interesting and enjoyable video content. While I think the street talks has it's own place for different takes and views, I think focused pieces like this makes it easy to follow. Keep up the good work and if you guys can continue to do more vids like this, would be happy to contribute to your cause

I’m very impressed with this plastic surgeon. He’s very calm, confident and truly an expert in his profession!! May God bless him always!!🙏❤️
Amazing confidence! One of the best videos of Asian Boss. This should go viral. His passion for his line of specialization radiates his action in all his cases. Be an inspiration to everyone.
Didnt even realize this was an Asian Boss video cause it was such a different format until I read the comments but I mean it in a very good way. This is by far one of the best videos theyve put out lately. Keep it up!
This is SO interesting! Thank you for such a close up look at this process.
He is one of many many top surgeons ~ but can see his very meticulous and calm and so very trhustworthy~
It’s interesting to see the difference between countries. It astonishes me that they can do the surgery right after the consultation as in my country surgeons need to respect a 24/48h delay to allow the patient to reconsider the operation.
Yes, same here.
same in my country.
If the blood work reveals that you have low iron levels they will cancel everything and they will reschedule for 3 months later which gives you time to get your blood iron up.

as someone who is interested with rhinoplasty, i found this documentary as informative. 3 surgeries for a surgeon in a day is just right. however, i just want to explore more on their clinical pathway post procedure, during emergency and what is the clinic rating for infection control. another thing is the anaesthesiologist side, i havent seen any pre assessment from the anaesthesiologist before a general anaesthesia, not just with this documentary but most of the youtube videos i watched. i've seen many patients returning to nhs due to complications of plastic surgery, fortunately, not much from south korea.
what type of complications?

As a Korean, I was surprised to see the comments. I saw many foreigners criticizing all Koreans for having plastic surgery. But there are many Koreans who don't have plastic surgery, and there are also many foreigners who travel to Korea just because they like Korean medical services like plastic surgery. Many people don't realize plastic surgery helps people regain their confidence and self esteem. I agree with the doctor here
Absolutely- especially after someone has had a mastectomy due to cancer, plastic surgery can be so helpful for people to gain self confidence/esteem after such a terrible ordeal.
Only if the surgery goes well which isn't 100% guaranteed

Oh I wish I saw the results of the first lady with the sunken in eyebads because mine literally look exactly the same. When researching what they can do about it here was that they put in hyalorounic acid there. This is the first time I have heard about putting in thigh fat there..
19:02 is post surgery with bandages but you get the idea
obviously do read up on this more....

Thanks Asian Boss, since there was no disclaimer in this video, I will consider this a tutorial for DYI self surgery

A great watch as always from Asian Boss!
Depends on what the surgery is.
It’s not fast. The guy said they do a lot of the preparation beforehand so that the in-person consultation with the doctor is more like a formality before the actual procedure
@@davidsalterego4481 Makes sense.
This doctor is so calmn! Someone i can trust ❤
Great great video. As a person who would love to have a minor plastic surgery I appreciate the content and information in this video!
Dr Jung is really good. His office/practice occupies an entire floor of a big building in Gangnam - the most expensive suburb in Seoul. The set-up is more professional than the surgeons I've met in Sydney, Australia. Just do your research, weigh the pros and cons, and be willing to accept the outcome.
the doctor did a great job in dealing with his patients.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You're simultaneously making yourself more attractive and unattractive at the same time.

Just make plastic surgery illegal, problem solved
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why not both? Just cause someone values external beauty doesn't mean they exclusively do.
It's not that simple. What we think about ourselves doesn't change the fact that we live in such a society. Even if we were to remove any conscious judgement based on appearances, it doesn't change the fact that people with "better looks" based on societal standards are awarded more opportunities and higher standings.
And then we all die.

So interesting. Thanks always for the various topics and videos ❤️
Valid point
Strange to go in and hear someone say “I don’t care if it looks natural” 😅 I worked for an amazing facial plastic surgeon and he would flat out refuse to do a procedure if it wasn’t going to look natural. “Their face is my resume so why would I want it to look less than perfect?” 🤷🏻♀️ The man had a point.
