Dance mini games in non dance games are usually painful.
The game with Han Solo dancing is Star Wars Kinect or something. Kinect wasn't bad, but people couldn't usually figure out how to make their games work for it so the Kinect usually suffered.

I got ET as a kid. It’s not hard to beat and a pretty good game. Not great, but pretty good. The problem was it was a financial failure along with Pac-Man. They manufactured tons of each assuming they would sell a lot just on the names alone as collectors items, plus in the case of ET they agreed to pay Spielberg quite a lot in licensing fees. In the end it was cheaper to secretly dump the surplus than store them, not just ET and Pac-Mac. At the time the market was flooded with consoles and games and many were not good to bad, eclipsing the good ones. There was no quality control and consumers got sick of not knowing what to buy and stopped buying in general. Articles wanted a scape goat and one of the last financial failures of the crash was ET, and people assumed it financially failed because it was bad.
The game was created by Howard Scott Warshaw. Some say it failed because it was because it was confusing or hard, but Warshaw previous game Raiders of the Lost Ark was far more confusing and hard to beat and was a major success. It’s why Spielberg wanted Warshaw specifically to make ET. Spielberg wanted ET to be a Pac-Man clone. Warshaw envisioned a search and rescue game on a cube map. He was given SIX weeks to complete in time for Christmas after signing the license agreement when games at the time took 6 months to a year minimum. He did the design in 1 week and programming and debugging in 5 weeks. I’m a software engineer by trade and that is insane. The catching ETs neck on pits climbing out of them was annoying and could have been improved but was easy to avoid once you knew what you were doing.
Six. Weeks. A good game made in 6 weeks in the 80s. When you manufacture more carts than consoles (rumored) your setting up for failure. It did financially fail, but I will defend it as a good game at the time. There were many far worse out at the time. Though, Warshaw is happy with the legacy. His first game (Yars’ Revenge) is touted as best Atari game and his third (ET) is touted as the worst Atari game. He says that gives him the biggest range of all. End rant. :)
