I love final cut, it runs so much netter than premiere pro, I edit twice as fast. I use a lot of plugins from motionvfx and pixel film studios, I really don‘t understand why no one is using motion 5? I would love to see more of that... I really don‘t like adobe
James motion came too late and AE exist for a long time maybe due to that but i have seen people using and its butter smooth compared to laggy AE, will be switching soon!
Have you checked out Simon Ubsdell channel? He does some amazing VFX stuff with Motion. After Effects is only amazing because of the plugins. I hope more people use Motion so there's an incentive for third party companies to make amazing plugins as they do for After Effects.
@@celestethoms Thanks! I have also started making tutorials on Motion don’t forget to checkout!
I use Motion all the time.
I'll check him out. Do you know someone else?
I love after effects, but I hate the subscription model.
agree
This comparison missed out one of the most important aspect - speed! U can see Motion effects run in real-time, u get immediate feedback whenever u make changes. In After Effects, u need to render it to cache before you can playback the effects in real-time... and every time u make a small change u need to re-render it! I think Motion is a game changer when it comes to productivity.
@BoneJoeBexperience LOL I'm stealing this. Dealt with the lag effects all day today.
I have used AE since 2005 and i love it! However, I am just now switching to Motion because I can actually buy and own the software as opposed to endlessly paying subscription fees. Also, it does most things that I need it to, and if I need to jump on AE for something, I can pay the $30 monthly fee and use it, export and import the content I created back into Motion. Its a win/win
thanks for sharing info man!!! much love
Hey can you please give credit where credit is due. Especially if you’re downloading one of our videos to talk about motion.
thanks for the video! Very informative.
Thanks for the awesome video. Very thorough...
Hi!
I have heard that within Motion, Apple provided some basic 3D object, and many more other 2D objects and textures. Does Adobe AE also have those things build in by default?
I believe the only thing that make after effects special are templates and plugins, and I wish soon that's gonna change, would be so great that envato, video copilot and red giant make more plugins for FCPX and motion
What about all of the free library content that you get with Motion vs the limited templates and content in AE?
Off topic question, but why isn't it possible for Makehuman to make legitimate photorealistic characters like in Iclone? It would make things a lot easier for indie game creators
Thanks dude
thxxx for this videooo

Apple programs are the best in every category IMO.
So I can make sam kolder transitions with motion?
is motion worth buying if you know how to use blender. if i use both blender and apple motion can i do everything that after effects can do?
I love when seeing amateur debate which one is the best. Ego fighting is the best.
Can you use apple motion with premiere pro? I can't find this answer anywhere if its a hard no.
Yes, you can
A serious contender to ae.....fed up continuously paying Adobe...when all I seem to get is a lot of annoying updates
As a personal user of animation and video editing software, I simply cannot afford Adobe's leasing costs. I can afford Apple's offerings of Final Cut Pro X and Motion which work perfectly well for me.
Make a video about Nuke and fusion
Yeah of course
Seconded. I would like to know more about Nuke alternatives please.
Is Motion comparable to Daz or Fusion in Davinci Resolve? I have both & am thinking of buying Motion. Please help, lol.
Hey Dean!
Motion and Fusion do many of the same tasks like compositing, motion graphics, titles and other finishing effects on video clips. Whether you choose Fusion or Motion depends on your if you prefer working with nodes ( Fusion ) or layers ( Motion ). Nodes can be incredibly powerful and easier to manage client changes on larger projects but layers can be simpler on smaller projects.
Another factor is your choice in NLE. If your already editing and color grading in Resolve then Fusion may be the right choice for you. If you are a FCPX user then you will probably enjoy the integration that Motion provides with FCPX.
You also asked about DAZ which is a bit of a head scratcher since it’s not really the same type of software as Motion and Fusion are. DAZ is more focused on 3D character creation and animation not video editing and composting like Motion and Fusion.
@@jordanwright5795 Thank you, Jordan, for taking the time to give me a full response! That completely answers my question. I'm waiting for DAZ to be compatible with Mac again so I can incorporate my renders into either Motion or Fusion.
@@Deankut Nice! DAZ is a lot of fun!
Hopefully as Apple develops its M1 and its own SOC GPU cores and whatever other GPU solutions it’s working on it will start attracting users and by extension developers back to Apple.
I used Mac’s exclusively for almost 20 years. Unfortunately when Apple dropped support for Nvidia GPUs it was a deal breaker for me. I love the Mac but too many of the 3D render engines I work with ( Redshift, Arnold GPU, Octane Render ) either only work on Nvidia or render much faster on Nvidia / PC.
I’m watching Apple Silicon closely though - it looks like it might really help bring people back to Apple. Motion and FCPX absolutely scream on my little 13” M1 MacBook Pro...
@@jordanwright5795 I totally hope so!!
After Effects is better for more complex VFX. But if you never do highly complex VFX then Apple Motion is great because it’s easy to use for motion graphics and it renders really fast. Also the interface is much nicer.
Genuine question….other than super detailed control of 3D objects, is there any high level compositing that AE does that Motion doesn’t do? I know AE is industry standard, but I’m comparing Motion and so far, it does everything AE can do.
I want to use apple motion for motion tracking with different elements, would this be ideal with Apple motion, I'm pretty new to it.
There’s zero tutorials for it
@@leonardpersin9694 I’m not sure that answers my question, but ok.
Try mTracker 3D from motionfx, which works in Motion and FCPX.
@@celestethoms I'll try looking for that, thank you! 🙌
Good news! It’s built in now.
second!
After Effect is great, but it is expensive comparing to Motion
Apple motion software runs on the iOS operating system. Is apple motion cross platform compatible? Can you run the software on windows?
Apple motion 🍎
Just don't like the subscription model from Adobe so I stay away from Adobe for that, I already have Lightroom and Photoshop that's all I can afford
after effects is the standard because there is nothing else to compete.
I can’t stand layer based compositors.
Can i ask why??? Just curious
@@syd-matters9562 just try node based compositing and you will know.
It's like looking at all your layers at once in a flow chart format.
You totally left out the fact that Motion can be purchased for about $50, while After Effects is subscription based only. Motion for the win!
I switched to Motion because I am so sick of this subscription model from Adobe. I feel scammed even being a year long customer. It is expensive and I can not own it.
only problem with after effect is its subscriptions i despise those motion all the way
Davinci Resolve Fusion is Best
I have DRF...and I also us Daz. Are they comparable to Motion? Or, should I buy Motion, too?
More plug-ins hahaha what you mean paying thousands to Red Giant and Boris...forget it
professionally I never met anyone that uses Motion. Nor Final cut pro X to be fair. Nobody requires them in freelance job descriptions (in UK at least)
the thing is FCPX is more optimized for Mac users, is faster and powerful to work, all my life I've been using premiere and after and now switch to FCPX has been my best decision ever, and Motion will be the best in some years for mac, I believe the only thing that make after effects special are templates and plugins, and soon that's gonna change
@@rgie._ Agreed. I switched a year ago to FCPX and Motion because the optimation meant I didn't have to upgrade my computer like I was considering because of the constant Adobe updates. The more people show the amazing work they're doing in Motion the better it's going to get.
If you've never met anyone using FCP, I wonder how many "professionals" you've really met?
Motion may not be on everyone's lips, but FCP is very widely used in industry.
@@w0mblemaniabeing myself a full time freelance editor since many years, I did indeed met many professionals. I work mainly in advertisement and Music. Never encountered anyone who uses motion or fcp. Probably it is more used in the US, I don't know, that is why I specified UK.
Clean, fresh water vs water from the toilet - which is better. Basically the same level of absurd as this video.
which one is the toilet water?
Not a single person on the planet is using Motion.
I do.
i do.
wrong
@@aleksandrmikhailov3255 yeah, no.
