@@dylanjohndickerson Using the AddMotion plugin in FCPX has made it even harder for me to get stuck into Motion but every time I see @The Final Cut Bro do something cool in Motion, I feel like I’m missing out 😄
Whoa the auto animations and easing effects (bezier curves) may have just given me reason to jump from after effects finally!

Hey! I've missed about 15 years of dev progress from Apple Pro Apps & competitors, and I'm trying to catch up (worked for large media cies who all use Avid top-down). Back in maybe 2005ish I actually got certified as a "trainer" for FCP and what used to be called Shake. It seems most the how-to stuff about Motion centers on creating titles or overlaying textures and the likes (w/ some compositing aspect)... Here's what I'd like to know, and this is a big one for me, how good is it at breaking down source material (video or otherwise) to create animations. This used to be a pain in the * with Shake, but still possible. Can motion do it? Like split a skyline and a mountain range from a single source and play with them?

Hi Dylan, do you know of a workaround where I can import editable svg files or ai files in motion, without using Illustrator? I know I can import vector files with PDF, but then I can't edit them.

However, one quick question: when I was doing the clicking animation by dragging the Bezier keyframe up, it turned out that even though I just moved the keyframe a tiny bit up, the button actually enlarged 4x and covered the whole screen... and I see from the property, that my changing of the keyframe made the button size jump from 100 to 4000... Do you have any idea why it was like that? thanks a lot!

Hey Makwana! Unfortunately Motion is limited here. The only way to get sound from Motion to Final Cut Pro is by exporting your finished video using the share menu. Hoping Apple changes that some day!
