He has great hand. That's not something new, he always had pretty good stats at the net.

Rafa just perfected his voleys because he understands that after a good shot, you need to come to the net and win the point.

He lets to his opponent to recover with a shitty slice and then lets go again, misses, loses the point.
Thats why Rafa has done smart adjustments in his game..
One of them is close the point on the net when its tikme for it.
Federer on the other hand has 10 times better voley than Rafa..
So yeah, Rafa has a good voley, nothing more than that and Federer has a great voley.
This tournament made me realize that Rafa is indeed the strongest player on tour. He hit harder and smarter than Thiem. When Thiem won that second set, Rafa just raised his game on clay to another level and the last 2 sets was just total domination.
Here he was hoping to win more to catch up to Roger. And now he has won more than Roger. Unbelievable, what an era of tennis. #VamosRafa

Great match & overall a greater tournament. Best 8 players came to quarters & best 4 to semis. 2 best players on clay played the final & the best player (ever) won a hard fought victory. Every player was treated the same & no seeding saga....what more you expect from a GS? magnificent!
I love how you put "ever" in brackets, because Fedovic fans like me would not be happy, while Rafa fans are happy that you mentioned it and won't go on a rampage.

The first Set of the Match was the Best Clay-Set i have ever seen. 2nd Set was also Top of the Game. 3rd and 4th Set Dominic played not so good anymore. If he hadn't play Djokovic in a 5 Set before, maybe we could saw a Thriller over 5 Sets in the Final.. But overall, 2 deserved Finalists and a deserved Champion !!!!!
Nah. No one has ever taken Rafa to 5 sets in a RG final. The match against Djoko had nothing to do with Thiem being unable to go the distance. It was Rafa who got really mad after losing the second set and raised his level to a point where Thiem looked helpless!

@@TheFlash3237 No. It was the Djokovic match. He played a 3 setter the day before. It significantly lowered his chances of taking a 5th set. In the fourth, he wasted around 10 break points. Had he been more clutch and not so tired in the fourth, he could have won it 7-5 or 7-6 to force the 5th, where he would lose 6-2 or something like that.

Nadal got fucked over in 2018 Wimbledon SF when they played with the roof closed on the second sunny day. Djokovic was the only one vetoing that. He was the one who made the call to keep it closed, not the tournament directors. Both players had to agree to open the roof.
After 2nd set thiem just gassed out. He never looked as the same player who snatched a set.
