  • I wanted to improve my system for storing bolts and nuts and other small stuff I frequently use in my garage. The solution for me was a DIY project where I created wooden drawers with 3D printed small boxes inside. It made me super organized!
    Thanks to ‪@achappel‬ for inspiration! Head over to his channel to see even more videos on how to create different types of similar storage solution.

    Your childhood tool is a saw setter, used to set the offset of each tooth after sharpening. It's also sets the width of the kerf that the saw cuts. Back when a good wood saw was a lifetime purchase.

      Aha, that makes sense! I actually have a couple of very old wood saws as well, they are probably from when a saw could last a lifetime 😁Thank you very much for the info 🤩🤩

      A skränktång, in Swedish. If someone asks about an unidentified weird old tool, it’s 90% likely to be one of these things. One in every household!

    Hahaha the way you shoot to the beat of the music… that was a really great touch. Your OCD is way worse than mine 😂 Haha, love projects like this. Great camera work and just love the way you are goofing around but still have the serious note in the end. Well done my friend 👏🏻🇳🇴

      Thanks Thomas 😊 I am always rocking around in my garage when listening to music, timing the use of the nail gun to 120bpm was not very difficult (used a metronome app) 😬 Glad you liked the vid!

      @@kihestad THAT MEANS YOU FILMED AT 60BPM(IN REAL TIME) THEN DOUBLED TO VIDEO SPEED TO END WITH 120BPM?

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  Год назад +1

      The playback is at 400% speed, I shot each nail on each second beat 😊 The nail had to hit center on a 15mm = 1/2inch wood board, I did not manage to do it faster. It's safe to say I was pretty focused during the recording 😬😁

    You have copper washer kits, I have automotive blade fuse kits! 🤣
    I love the organiser pots, and I'm really protective of my JIS screwdriver bits too!

      The 3D printed boxes are great, I am still printing boxes with different designs to perfectly fit whatever I have. Boxes for fuses was actually a good idea 👍 Keeping your JIS screwdriver bits secure is definitely a must!!! 😁

    Euroboks, 20x30, 30x40, 40x60, various heights, designed to be stackable
    only "problem" is that you get a 10cm sliver of unused space on the side, but that could be used for long stuff, etc
    or... build your own, this is what I also tend to do :)

    Awesome! Now that is an improved cabinet space. I used to think I was weird from the comments I would elicit from people with my "extreme" organization. They're there freaks!

      Welcome to the club 😁 I think it's quite an exclusive one. From my experience most people does not care that much how their garage or workshop looks like, and seemingly do not care that much about tidyness either 😝

    Very nice! One suggestion is to put a clear plexiglass sheet over the top of each drawer. I have had a similar set up but unfortunately I bumped and dropped the drawer spilling the contents all over my floor! A nice plexiglass sheet would keep everything in place!

    I bought two Vessel impacta screw drivers for my birthday this year.
    Their not cheap, but I am very happy to have them. That one you have looks very nice and I saw it in the store as well.
    Was really surprised when I saw in the newspaper of all things this part of the store advertising that they have it.
    Probably the only store in the country. Pricing was the same as ordering from Amazon Japan.
    So I bought it locally.
    My first JIS screwdriver set was from Sealey, and I still used it. Though I can say the Vessel stuff seems to be stronger.
    I think (and hope) that it's only the black coating coming off of the tip.
    Also very defensive about those screwdrivers, and only I may use them.
    Very cool and neat setup.
    Really dig your garage setup. Dreaming of one day doing the same when I get my own garage.

      Thank you 😊 I just used my JIS screwdriver on a couple of Honda carbs today, the fit is just impeccable. It was my CB400 from 1984, it looked like the screws has never been touched. The screwdriver did the job! I say the same as you: these are for my hands only! 😎

      Glad you enjoyed it 😊 Your garage tidy up did quite a difference. Adding stuff into high cabinets or wall mounted cabinets that reaches all the way to the ceiling is the way to go in my opinion. Could be your next improvement? 😁

    I love the drawers! And the label section is genius! What goes in the center of the cabinet?

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  5 месяцев назад +1

      Glad you liked it 👍 The space in between the drawers has become the space where I put spray cans, oil cans and chemicals I use often. It's nice to have some free space not reserved for anything specific as well after organizing a storage system. If it is 100% utilized when done organizing, then it gets messy quickly since there is no space for new stuff 😔
