@C C That's a gross misunderstanding. Not everyone who wants to be a parent is a child molester! There are people in this world who want to be parents non-traditionally! And many child molesters have their own children to molest them. This happens regardless of the dynamic of a family!
They are 3 grown ass adults raising a child together. If you can't wrap your head around that then that's your problem but the child is growing up happy and healthy and loves that she has 3 parents.
Exactly! It is frustrating that people don’t see how this is the same thing as kids being raised in one house by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and two parents. Kids all over the world living in the same house with three or more parent figures and never get confused. Kids in America have full-time nannies who discipline them and see them MORE than their own parents, and they learn to adapt. Three parent house-holds are common all over the world. People are just close-minded and also partially discriminating because it is a man that is entering the house and not a woman.

Agreed Julia. People hire nannies, move in with Aunt and Uncles and grandparents, have their older siblings move in to help raise children all the time. 3 parent-figure households are so common, not just in America but all over the world. It’S so beautiful that one child will have so much love.

Sooooo many people 100% feel they have more than their legal guardian. Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents- A LOT of times are reffered to as momma and dad and have a parental relationship with kids. Authority, protection, education, food etc etc etc. And everyone is so thankful and happy for it! A lot of people wish there was another legal way other than godparents to have this. It's so beneficial for kids! THIS ISNT WILD. Thank god that child has another person that loves them so much. Fucking hell how are you gonna disregard all the parental aunties etc., it straight up feels disrespectful

100% very common in Africa and Latin American countries. The 2 parent nuclear family is a white people thing, a family structure imposed on Americans during the 50s when racism was alive and well. It was used as a means of discrimination. Black people really have had white American culture forced on them for decades and now think it is there own.

But the kid will GROW UP in this environment so they will be used to this. People are too judgmental about things that are different than them.
I think the reason this raises eyebrows is because of the fact that it’s not regulated in all states and it’s a non-traditional family structure... the same way people have different forms and ideals of what they consider parenting and disciplining is the same way people can have different ideals and forms of family structures... this kind of family structure is legal in only 5 damn states ... this is actually a very interesting story... we’ve seen shows like Sister Wives where they show the lives of polygamous relationships ... I would like to see a show based on this kind of family structure... it’s something different and I would like to try to understand the reasoning and how the ins and out of that type of structure works

This was incredibly disappointing to watch! All of these women have nontraditional family structures and all of them will say they've learned something and valued the experiences they had growing up as it informed their development to adulthood. I teach on family structure and one of the main themes of family is that all families are made up of multiple dynamics. In the case of this particular family, I see no problem. The child is cared for and loved by three responsible adults who have made a decision to raise a child together. It's not like they found a random man on the street to be their child's third parent. The ladies on this panel need to expand their minds a little bit and understand that just cause it's not what they picture when they think of a family, doesn't mean it's wrong. This is how people thought of interracial marriages and parents in same sex relationships. Very ignorant and very disappointing when this show has a history of talking openly about progressive issues in more compassionate ways. Do better The Real Daytime!

If other kids are “confused” and that’s your concern- well those kids are going to have another thing coming growing up in this huge wild diverse world!! I would take a second Dad any day!!! My parents are divorced and although that was rough for a bit, I now feel soooo lucky because I have stepparents and that means I get FOUR parents!!! I am so loved 🥰
This is too weird. Sometimes two opinions/parenting styles get complicated, let alone 3. I wish today’s Society wasn’t so progressive... sometimes the things we come up with sheesh 🙄 Stick with two parents (gay, straight, whatever but TWO) your child will have more love and a bigger circle with godparents, grandparents, aunts uncles ect. So that “extra” person is not needed.

Why is this confusing? What about single parents? Aren’t kids confused that they don’t have a second parent? What about kids that grow up living in homes with grandparents and aunts and uncles? Do these women know that people all over the world live in households with 2, 3, 6 adults who act as full-time parents. I went to South Africa and saw family units that had 5 adults raising a child. What about kids who have full-time nannies? You have to explain to a child that the nanny isn’t a parent but... they are since they end up seeing the kid more than the parents and discipline the child all the same.
We like to think that because something has a different name that it is somehow weird or confusing or wrong; when in fact, it is the same thing we have been doing for centuries, with just another name on it. It is not unconventional at all, but in fact incredibly normal and HEALTHY to have more than 2 adults raising a child. Leave America you close-minded fools and see the world for what it truly is, a diverse place with alternative family structures that manages to raise people just fine all the time.
