“One Day at a Time,” was a great Latino show on Netflix and not a lot of people watched and they removed it. Another great show is Disney plus, “Diaries of a future president,” with an all Latino cast and crew. There are shows out there, the companies producing them are just not pushing them more and people are missing out of them as well. We as a Latino community can do more by supporting what is already out there as well.

@@bsbgirl85 they know where she lives. They‘ve talked about in an old episode. Tamera said she can walk to Loni‘s house cause they live in the same area but was never invited. And Loni said that she want‘s to make it convenient for Tamera because she has kids she doesn‘t want her to pack up bags and get them ready and the stress that comes with all that so Loni has no problem going to their house instead.
What Loni doesn‘t understand is Tamera doesn‘t need that „help“ she wants an invite too. She literally asked how come I was never invited? I think Loni is using that as an excuse to think of the kids first. Like come on lol kids are hard work but not that hard where you can‘t leave the house and have everybody come over + I don‘t think Tamera asked for it. Don‘t make a decision for someone else.

Listen!!! The way this pandemic has shut us all down , physically , emotionally , mentally... I’m glad that a lot of people are opening up and sharing their personal stories whether it’s how they’ve been affected throughout their career , keeping up personas for the sake of society and the industry or even just the serious topic of mental health in general... I can tell you right now... there is nothing like having the gift of common sense , self awareness and eagerness to get help even when other may feel like you need it... I always say “everybody needs a somebody “ whether that’s somebody listening to you vent , a nice hug or cuddle from your partner or someone within your close friend group or family or hell even getting a therapist or counselor to help you figure out what the solution is to what you need to feel better and go forward in life without having certain scenarios and stresses wearing you out!

Honestly... idk how many times I can watch recreations of other films and shows based off ones life... I remember when I heard there was gonna be a reboot of ROOTS... I said “ why ?” I watched it in middle school back in 2014... and it was good then... why do we have to recreate and tell th same story again through another view point when it was role before years ago... The Selena Movie is timeless... it doesn’t need to be had! I think we need to show other perspectives and share other peoples stories !!! We much as we talk equity and diversity in the entertainment space... In my personal opinion... the lesser groups we see on television and the big screen are the Asian Community & Latinx Community... it took 20 years for another all Asian cast to be on s movie back in 2018 when Crazy Rich Asians was came to be on the big screen... the last time I saw a primarily Latino cast or a mix of cast that had many Latinos was when Anjelah Johnson was on Our Family Wedding and that was what ?! 2010 ?!?! It should not be that hard to come up with authentic , relatable stories for people to be able to watch and resonate with especially when it comes to their own community!

Is it just me or.... are people really mad at how grown men show affection and play and love on their children... 5 years ago we saw this when Perez Hilton was in the shower with his child... and now wer seeing it with a grown black man with his 16 year old son... what is going on in society where we have double standards and glorify girls being daddy’s girls and being older and giving affection to their parents... but let a black young male cuddle his dad and all of sudden the floodgates of homophobia , sexualization and age shaming come into play... stop making men feel as if they can’t show affection to their peers , their children or their emotions in general

They don’t get thrown in jail for that. My mother did that. We went to Virginia school but lived in Maryland. She did not go to jail. We just had to be put into our right school . The other time the school allowed us to finish out the school yr since we moved across town in the middle of the school yr. I think I know the lady you are talking about. She had drug related charges .

You had Jade the asian girl, Sacha the black girl, Yasmin the latina girl, and Chloe the white girl. 4 best friends, no ridiculous stereotypes, and unlike barbie dolls, Chloe wasn’t at the forefront of the group as the pretty blonde girl. They all had the same importance and exposure.

It is so interesting, because as an international viewer, I would never feel - and have never felt - like I have been missing out on anything simply due to the fact that I am not American. However, I do understand the place Adrienne is coming from. Hollywood and the USA in general has such an influence on societies around the world, that as an Arab, a Palestinian, I even feel like Middle Eastern families are treated stereotypically - from Religion to cultural traditions - in Hollywood.

I’m a black woman and I feel horrible for those black women who faced prison time but Felicity took responsibility and she be able to move in with her life. J’Lo has the biggest platform and isn’t creating jobs and opportunities for young Latin talent. That’s what it takes. Look to black entertainers creating opportunities for the community.
Also, J’Lo has the biggest platform as a Latino woman and her career has been one of appealing to white culture. This broke barriers showing that Latinos are diverse. At the same time, she didn’t set an example for how to be authentically Latina and gross heavily in the box offices.

I agree, there should be more movies and shows that combine different cultures. Thats Why I like On My Block. It's a young adult/older teen show. I would recomend ages 15 and up to watch this. 12-14 if you have kids that are mature for their age. It a comedic drama like series. It has black and latino/latina culture. Its funny and genuine at the same time. It has mystery, romance, and comedy. Like I said its for any mature teen or any adult of any age. Seriously my mom is 54, my brother is 32, im 21 and my niece is 14. We all love it. Im waiting for a 4th season to come out. Hoepfuly they renew it.
