PedroNotPeter no go for the tie fighters then do some empire maintenance, make some more sectors and consolidation while building up the fleets. also you need to take the area to the east that is empty for the resources . build the empire foundation stronger now or it will go to shit.
I vote for war against the Nurians first, smaller empires later. I also vote for The Galactic Empire to send aid/relief in the form minerals and energy cells to the Salarian Union in their war against The Republic so we could have an ally in the northern quadrant of the galaxy.
RealHoboJak Gaming, Salarians are awesome but they are weak and who is to say they will use the aid we send them in their war against the Republic. I say leave them, if the Republic does not destroy them then we will. Their empire is small and they are too weak to fight for our empire.
Shack! First off, definitely go with imperial dreadnought. Please keep in mind though that this is NOT the super star destroyer! It is the Allegiances class Battlecruisers... You need to look for the "Titan"research chain's that will eventually pop up in your research choices. I've play with these mods too. Also upgrade your government type already!
our navy might be massive, but the imperial army and marine corps needs a lot more updates, the infrastructure is, in most cases, over a century old, I suggest we reactivate the 364th directive, code name: daggerwolves
Super star destroyers will take in game years to be researched whereas TIE Interceptors will be immediate help and will bring more point defense and can destract some fire from larger capital ships.
Shack, you are literally the only reason I still use RUclips I love your videos. I've been a subscriber for over 5 years now and couldn't have been happier. Keep up the good work!
DO A COUPLE MONTHS' RESEARCH IN DREADNOUGHTS THEN SWITCH TO TIE INTERCEPTORS. Doing that will keep the dreadnoughts from disappearing and forcing you to wait for it to come up again.
In regards to Shack's comments on the ground warfare in Stellaris (44:45), I would agree that there needs to be a bit more control, should players want to tinker with it. If nothing else, at least giving an option to switch between different types of combat strategies (like orbital bombardment) for both offense (i.e. shock and awe, frontal assault, sabotage) and defense (i.e. hold the line, hit and run, scorched earth), each with a corresponding buff/debuff, or even a counter system a la rock-paper-scissors, would be a step in the right direction. What do you guys think?
Designers have indicated what they intend to do with ground combat. It appears they will remove ships and you just order sending troops from planet(s) of yours to theirs. Sounds like the MOO system. This should help the AI be more dangerous. I don't mind a system where you lack any control over ground combat, except for retreat. But they need a system where fortifications are actually useful. A grid system that doesn't allow all your 100 armies to deploy at once and that includes corridors and pill boxes would help. You can go back to 1990 and find space conquest game with this level of ground combat detail.
You should purge the Ela Gaan slaves and replace them with either machines or humans. Not only is freeing slaves not very Empire-ish in nature, but they also wanted you to be eradicated way back in the early days of the Empire
When you upgraded all your fighters from the scouts, you lost a lot of defense from missiles. You may want to consider designing a carrier that has only the scout tie fighters and throw a couple in your fleet.
while the super star destroyers are tempting, they wouldn't be quite so fancy without the impressive and highly effective point defense escorts of the Interceptor fighter frames.

*Senator Nikolas steps forward* fellow senators, this talk of "emancipation" is foolish all enslaved races at one point were a threat to our race and empire and now the themlar are marshalling an alliance against us. this only reinforces my conviction that the only place in our empire for xenos is on the end of our blasters, or under our boots. it is harsh I admit but for the survival of the human race, no cost is to great.
Greetings I am doctor Johnmary Len, of the IASR, Imperial association of scientific research. Our research community is pleased that the emperor is finally lowering our dependance on slavery, hopefully the reconditioned predators will manage to become productive and active members of the empire. They could make good lab assistants for us as well. We encourage to keep up with the emancipation of the Predators, but the Ela Gaan however will require more time in order to be made completely harmless to us.

You should get the Super Star Destroyer. I can't wait to see a fleet like 5 k vs a single super star destroyer and enjoy how super star destroyer wipe them out. And you should do more frequent theese episodes. Good job ! Hi5 !
So glad to see you hitting multiple objectives like during the initial assault you sent first fleet to take out a Themlar core world and then sent 2nd fleet to knock out one of their frontier outposts. Good job!
Shack, a cool tip you might like to know, is that you can tell a building to upgrade to the highest version you have by "shift-clicking" the upgrade button.
Shack, get those droids (and later synths) spread across the empire! Colonize everything with them, and add those planets to sectors! But remember, droids are only good at food and minerals, but synths are good at everything, even research. Get synths ASAP! You can easily squash any possible rebellions.
"Squash any possible rebellions." Uh they can start an AI Rebellion of their own. It's why the card to research synths is colored red, for a chance to trigger a crisis.
+TheMatrixGamer yep, I know. But honestly, that crisis isn't very strong, and Shack can probably beat it by the time it happens cause he'll probably have SSDs by then. Also, he doesn't even have to do the rebellion, he can choose to enact the Three Laws of Robotics and the crisis will never happen. The benefits of synths are too great.
Also, try to go to war with the predators and the ikanians next and make them both vassals. After that's done, go to war with the Nurians. It would be awesome if you took down the republic up North in order to save the other federation assoc. up north (name starts with an "S".) Use the Dreadnought technology to destroy the Fiinal protectors and make them vassals (I don't know if this will give you there tech, hopefully it does)
shack and anybody else that doesn't know. after starting an integration of a vassal it shows in the middle right window as a planet and moon with an arrow curved towards the planet. you can see it at 46:42 in the video
Shack..... at the end of the episode, you just called all of your troops occupying the Themlar homeworld (Themmel) into orbit....While the Themlar Fleet was in orbit! Those troops got instantly destroyed and now the Themlar homeworld is much more open to invasion
RIP me. - Captain Hal Fischer was interviewed today relating to his father's death on the front lines in the Battle of Them, "My father died as he lived, in a fiery metal death trap"
Just a tip: Excess power does not go to waste but buffs some stats on the ship (evasion, combat speed, damage) which means you don't have to min/max power if you're floating in minerals.
Also TIE Interceptors are the way to go. We need the immediate improvement to our fleet strength and ability. While having an SSD would be freaking amazing, the cost in both research, building, and powering the thing is going to be enormous. And if we somehow lost it in combat, the expense might not be worth it.
plus it should need so many support ships just to give it fire support but with the fire power of 2 or 3 SSD's maybe that would work but or if he can get the oversized SSD that would be a ship that would be so OP
Great play though and thanks for it. I have a few suggestions for you Also a few suggestions: 1) though you changed the design for the science ships you have not actually upgraded them, I have not seen you do it. 2) upgrade your construction ships, with at least better shields and warp engines 3) after upgrading you upgraded the science ships please put them all of them over a planet to assist in research. That way you can level them up.
I mean no offense, Captain, but your micromanagement in this game is sorely lacking. Suggesting many things to do: a) Check all of your planets. Some of them have inactive buildings and unemployed pops. b) After the war, go to the ship designer, and refit ALL our ships to balance power output and minimize cost. Or do it offscreen before the next episode if you must. c) Salarians refused the trade because their acceptance was at 0, not 1. I advise supporting their war effort with a mutual research agreement, mutual star charts and sensor link, 30 year length, and a gift of instant transfer minerals and credits, 3000-4000 each. We must spare it if we wish them to survive the Republicans' assault. d) Vassal Integration Time is located on the Husko Communication screen, and on bottom of your outliner list. Just scroll down. d) You forgot to put the Two For Flinching in the Support Fleet, by the way. That's all for now, unless I spot something else, then I'll edit it in. Imperial High Vizier Shinigami, out.
////MESSAGE INCOMING//// FROM: CAPT HOWARTH: ISD CLASS TWO FOR FLINCHING TO: Grand Admiral Shack //////MESSAGE RECEIVING//// Admiral, I thank you for appointing me to the TWO FOR FLINCHING, she's a fine ship, along with my appointment to the defense of the Empire. Shakedowns and exercises have commenced and we are learning new fleet strategy's in which the Flinching will play a command role as well as the main firepower and damage dealer to enemies of our empire. Your loyal servant, Capt. Howarth. ////MESSAGE CLOSE///// ////ATTACHMENT///// On an unofficial record Admiral, I hear the brains are working on a new class of Star Destroyer, a dreadnought class, this will undoubtedly become a costly endeavour, I say focus more on ship launched fighters and the ti program, they have proven indispensable against missile based weapons. ~ Capt Howarth.
*The Holonet Projector flickers to life, and a regal looking Human appears on screen, bearing the marks of Polaris Prime, and a green armband, representing solidarity with the oppressed* "Greetings all on this glorious day, for today, a huge victory has been won in the endless fight against adversity. The new Emperor, has emancipated the Predators, letting them be free of their shackles, and live life to the fullest. However this war is not yet won. Our imperial brothers, the Alagaan (Forgive my spelling) still slave away in factories and farms for no pay. This simply cannot stand. That is why, I , Hazrengrath Beterkin, Lord of Polaris Prime, continue to plead for their citizenship! Our brother must be free of their shackles, FREE THE ALAGAAN!" *The Holonet broadcast ends and a news show comes on after a commercial for new Bakangi Inc. Blue Milk Supplement, now with 50% less fat!*
The predators had paid the price long enough in my opinion and some of them are actually quite friendly even loyal to the empire and it's people......but those four eyed nazi scum will be free when the empire dies or a dreadnought that is going to commence extermination arrives. Until then those monsters can learn from their mistakes on trying to exterminate the galaxy.
Seeing as how the Ela gaan have not made themselves especially useful to the Empire thus far, leaving the currently enslaved populous of Ela gaan as they are would be fitting as a punishment. Eventually they may earn their freedom, though I do not think that time has come just yet.
I reccomend going for TIE Interceptors because the war could be won with less casualties then waiting for super star destroyer technology when it is not immediately needed.
Shack, you think about using the mods for vanilla Star Wars weapons and the Empire species mod. Season 3 maybe? They literally have Palpatine, Vader and Empire helmets and uniforms portraits. I have tested the Star Wars weapons mods extensively and it works great. This isn't the one were you can change the colors, its the other one. I wish I could be more specific with the names but I am at work :P. I have also added the Deathstar mod but haven't gotten to that level yet. Maybe something to consider if you ever do another Empire season. It was pretty cool when the Emperor died in my game it redressed the heir automatically in Vader's outfit.
Also, Shack, somebody else said this as well, PLEASE diversify your weapons, they specialize at different types of combat. Somebody also said excess power buffs certain ship attributes, it does not get wasted. I love this series so far, and im trying to make suggestions (I voted Dreadnought tech) that will make this series the most fun for everyone watching.
My vote is for the Dreadnought research. How about before you start a war with the Nuurians, you take out the automated dreadnought and add it as the first Super Star Destroyer. It will make a great news flash that will prove to all the Empire(and all other civilizations) that not only is the Empire capable of manufacturing ships of unheard magnitude, but can defeat ships of the same scale. News statement by Captain Korhil of "Blade Edge" commando squad: "We imperials do not look at a mountain and say 'How will I go over it?' We say 'How will I flatten it?"
Go for Dreadnoughts! As soon as you get a SSD up and running, or even just some bigger ships, your enemies will tremble and you're doing fine right now. If you were in trouble maybe the interceptors would have been a better choice but since your doing as good as you are i'd say go for the bigger and bader ships. Now you even have the reactors to support them :)
I suppose a three point agenda for the review of Emperor Shack. Once the war with the Themlar is concluded, I would recommend dealing with Nurians, before crushing the smaller nations that are in the northern rim. I would also like to suggest that we continue to send relief materials to the Salarians, as well as maybe offering them association status in the imperial alliance to help ward off Republic aggression
i would "start" the dreadnought research so you have some points towards it( if i remember correctly that should lock it as a choice) and then do the TIE upgrades.
Just an fyi, orbital support during invasions isn't a thing. You need the fleet to bomb away the fortifications, but one they're gone and troops are landed, the fleet is no longer contributing. Also, assign a general. Such an easy boost to your invasion forces.
We must research the TIE Interceptors. It my belief that if the empire is going to survive in the present conflicts we need that extra fighter craft now.
shack, that trade deal with the solarians didn't go through because you didn't have it set to +1 ... it was at 0. I think the obvious choice for your research is the better ties.
Can you list more of the mods you use? Like the race mods, such as Predators and what else you're using. Also, is there a way to make pulsed lasers? Beams look a bit odd on star destroyers. Maybe if ballistic weapons are recolored as a new category "Turbolasers"
I miss his Homeworld videos. About a year ago, maybe more, Shack said he wanted to do a play through of the Homeworld 2 Remastered campaign. He never did. Did he just suddenly lose interest?
This is Jhonmary from the IASR, we suggest to continue freeing the predators, while keeping the Ela Gaan enslaved until they'll be pacified completely. Their slavery shouldn't go on forever, but their lesson needs to sink in.
considering how long the dreadnought is going to take i would do the interceptors first. The immediate benefit outweighs the long term in my mind this time around
hey Shack i don't know if someone already said something about it, but you are building Defense army's not attack army's that's why you have all those troops but cant embark them to attack enemy planets.
In order for the Empire to grow we need bigger and badder ships. The Dreadnought class ships is what we must to. Yes the price is high, but it will win our wars and allow us to annex territories and they'll give us those resources back and then we repeat that process.
Shack, check the other worlds you've pt to terraform. Pretty sure they're done. Also, you forgot to upgrade the combat roles.
also, you forgot to bring the star destroyer into the second fleet.
PedroNotPeter he checked the planet he was Terraforming at the beginning of the episode and it still had 1500 days left
i hope he choses the super ISD
PedroNotPeter no go for the tie fighters then do some empire maintenance, make some more sectors and consolidation while building up the fleets. also you need to take the area to the east that is empty for the resources . build the empire foundation stronger now or it will go to shit.
Chris Green *late comment* True xD

This would give us access to the north.

Shack - Extra energy generated for ships will increase the damage of energy weapons.

2. better capital ships
3. go aid the Salarians
4. I apologize for the Ogi-Nollox DMZ being a thing

it will increase ur influence
do stellaris twice a week
Yousef Wahed I agree on that but It probably take a long time to make them

Yousef Wahed and also attack the Nurian but put them as the Justkan's vassals so they could get faster into northern conflicts

Dominic Lycke yes with heavy loses and he's going to war with what ? 5 empires?
Dominic Lycke he needs to end the war the recover to attack that dreadnought
Dominic Lycke then*
Dominic Lycke yee
Dominic Lycke then I think he should rebuild the Dreadnaught. Have about a 3.5k to a 3.7k strength on it's own
You should get Tie interceptors

Gandy'sGrimm daggerwolves
that actually makes more sense than shacks guards
Gandy'sGrimm yea that will be great if he does this
i'm loving this Stellaris season 2
You're the empire, begin the construction on the Dreadnought immediately. FOR THE EMPEROR!
you should name one of the big ships the malevolence
Jacob Ray Or the Chimera
if he will choose dreadnoughts name it Ravager ( it was the last Executor class empire had) it will be a good name
Love the awesome commentary at the beginning. Had to sub after finding this vid. :)

I vote Super star destroyers
"be sure not to choke on your aspirations director krenic" the greatest line
shack dont enslave the ela gaan purge them!
It will make other empires hate him though.
I second that idea
He's the Galactic Empire... that's gonna happen eventually
Mr VrouFi Commence order 37!!
Lol yessssss
from what I've seen, corvettes are like cannon fodder; you send them in to keep your heavy hitting ships safe.
This is my official vote that you begin the research chain for SSDs. Anyone voting the same, please like this post
Shack you need to apply the perk upgrades to your space stations. You have some stations that are at tier 6 but have no upgrades applied to them.
Shack! You should do dreadnoughts
"Peace and prosperity.....through SUPERIOR FIREPOWER" loll
Unlock dreadnoughts over better fighters. The tech will take very long but will increase your fleet power significantly
Also, try to go to war with the predators and the ikanians next and make them both vassals. After that's done, go to war with the Nurians. shack and anybody else that doesn't know. after starting an integration of a vassal it shows in the middle right window as a planet and moon with an arrow curved towards the planet. you can see it at 46:42 in the video
DREADNOT
Joseph La Placa dumbass
Shack..... at the end of the episode, you just called all of your troops occupying the Themlar homeworld (Themmel) into orbit....While the Themlar Fleet was in orbit! Those troops got instantly destroyed and now the Themlar homeworld is much more open to invasion
Super star destroyers!!!
RIP me.
- Captain Hal Fischer was interviewed today relating to his father's death on the front lines in the Battle of Them, "My father died as he lived, in a fiery metal death trap"
DREADNOUGHT!!!
I have a few suggestions for you Also a few suggestions:
1) though you changed the design for the science ships you have not actually upgraded them, I have not seen you do it.
2) upgrade your construction ships, with at least better shields and warp engines
3) after upgrading you upgraded the science ships please put them all of them over a planet to assist in research. That way you can level them up.
I mean no offense, Captain, but your micromanagement in this game is sorely lacking. Suggesting many things to do:
a) Check all of your planets.
Imperial High Vizier Shinigami, out.
that sad moment when you see your ship and cap dosent lol. the Conquest is a humble ship she'll forgive and forget lol
EMPEROR sized SSD!!!!!
Shack! We need Dreadnauts in our lives! Please start that research!!
make the 2 fleet stronger
Hey shack, I remember that you had i new carrier design available. Would love for you to look into that.

FROM: CAPT HOWARTH: ISD CLASS TWO FOR FLINCHING
TO: Grand Admiral Shack
//////MESSAGE RECEIVING////
Admiral, I thank you for appointing me to the TWO FOR FLINCHING, she's a fine ship, along with my appointment to the defense of the Empire. Shakedowns and exercises have commenced and we are learning new fleet strategy's in which the Flinching will play a command role as well as the main firepower and damage dealer to enemies of our empire.
Your loyal servant, Capt. Howarth.

On an unofficial record Admiral, I hear the brains are working on a new class of Star Destroyer, a dreadnought class, this will undoubtedly become a costly endeavour, I say focus more on ship launched fighters and the ti program, they have proven indispensable against missile based weapons. ~ Capt Howarth.
Also i think you should produce more corvettes as you have the new combat roles technology.
DREADNAUGHT ASAP
12:37 It's been 111 years 11 months and 11 days since the beginning of your empire.
Death to the death dealers.
Jacob Hornicak Keep the Alagaan scum in shackles!
The predators had paid the price long enough in my opinion and some of them are actually quite friendly even loyal to the empire and it's people......but those four eyed nazi scum will be free when the empire dies or a dreadnought that is going to commence extermination arrives. Until then those monsters can learn from their mistakes on trying to exterminate the galaxy.
yay blue milk with less fat!
Seeing as how the Ela gaan have not made themselves especially useful to the Empire thus far, leaving the currently enslaved populous of Ela gaan as they are would be fitting as a punishment. Eventually they may earn their freedom, though I do not think that time has come just yet.
Shack, after battles where ships are lost do you think you could scroll through the fleet lists so we can see if our ships survived plz?
The justikaan Fleet Looks So badass and all those ships will be your fleet size one day, made solely of super star destroyers.
I reccomend going for TIE Interceptors because the war could be won with less casualties then waiting for super star destroyer technology when it is not immediately needed.
Hope shack builds a more destroyers. Still hope to see my character on join the fleet :)
I still think despite the amount of firepower from dreadnoghts you would strategically better off at the moment by researching Tie fighter technology.
Just a great idea off the top of my head, DEFENSE STATIONS ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE!
I fell horribly ill today and the sight of your mighty empire cheered me up 😊
I suppose a three point agenda for the review of Emperor Shack.
Hey Shack. wouldnt it be better to make the Venator you got now and a Venator witha fighter and bomber and Point defense?
i would "start" the dreadnought research so you have some points towards it( if i remember correctly that should lock it as a choice) and then do the TIE upgrades.
Your citizenry cries for a show of ultimate force. Bring on the Imperial Dreadnought!
17:50 there was a ship called Australian
"How is it we don't have better space station technology?" *Neglects almost all space station research*
Hey are u still doing X3AP, I really enjoyed that series and hope u are still continuing it.
I miss his Homeworld videos. About a year ago, maybe more, Shack said he wanted to do a play through of the Homeworld 2 Remastered campaign. He never did. Did he just suddenly lose interest?
45:00 A Total War type thing would probably be a bit much, but it would also be really cool.
At last the sith will rule the galaxy and we shall know peace (Emperor Palpatine)
This is Jhonmary from the IASR, we suggest to continue freeing the predators, while keeping the Ela Gaan enslaved until they'll be pacified completely. Their slavery shouldn't go on forever, but their lesson needs to sink in.
i say for sure that you should start the super star destroyer research
A Great name for your flag ship Emperor's Grasp because it is a Interdictor-class heavy cruiser.
Dreadnaughts, as nobody else appears to have fighters so there is no point in currently upgrading them
Remember Jehet. Unity is the path to victory.
considering how long the dreadnought is going to take i would do the interceptors first. The immediate benefit outweighs the long term in my mind this time around
A few things: You cant vassalize someone who is already a vassal or tributary and the integration is in the Outliner.
Shack can you do a rebel season after this season?
Did the nurians have Tacheyon lances. or am I seeing things. They are quite advanced.
Do not let the dark side of the force cloud your judgement and instead research Tie interceptors.
Two for flinching is a UNSC ship it i remember correctly?
@11:45 not digging how it's just an ISD with Immobilizer grav gen sphere glued to it
hey Shack i don't know if someone already said something about it, but you are building Defense army's not attack army's that's why you have all those troops but cant embark them to attack enemy planets.
In order for the Empire to grow we need bigger and badder ships. The Dreadnought class ships is what we must to. Yes the price is high, but it will win our wars and allow us to annex territories and they'll give us those resources back and then we repeat that process.
You created defense armies at the end of episode instead of attack armies, you won't be able to use them for planetary invasions
