that hitch is 100% not locked on the ball.

  • @michaelbegay9573

Depends on where you tow, if you stay on hiway and sleep at campgrounds 5th wheel is good, if you haul horses and cattle, gooseneck is way to go for articulation, not towing on flat/level ground. 🐴🐂🐮

That is very unsafe looking, In general

  • @VP23

Having the bed open is nice but all that movement from the gooseneck on the ball makes me leary that thing rocks around way too much for me to be comfortable, I'd love to have my bed but I'll take the secure feeling of my v slider hitch. It just looks and feels so much more secure that's why I bought a 5th wheel with lots of storage so I don't need my bed plus it's alot easier to hookup than this

Any issues with cab or bed clearance with the 6’ bed? Looking at this option for my 35’ 5er and ram with a 6’7 bed.

  • @Captain-Awesome

The dude in the hoodie was 100% right, install the hitch on the ball and use the jack for the back to lift it to the RV.

  • @Captain-Awesome

Okay, I got mine installed, I was wrong on my previous comment. Putting it on the ball first can actually jam you up. We nearly got stuck jammed in there and struggled to get it out. There is no chance of breaking the ball though, the gooseneck will sit on the truck bed, there is a crazy amount of movement at the ball and gooseneck connection. The way you guys did it was better than my idea and (red hoodies idea) but even better would be to have one guy on each side lifting and a wife, girlfriend, grandma, the mail man or another buddy insert a bolt or two to hold it in place. It takes 30 seconds to lift it up and insert a bolt to hold it in place. Way way faster.

When my wife retires and we can travel more my plan is to do either get the gen y or the Shocker with the air bag on my 5th wheel. I deliver campers with my truck and haven't had the chance to pull one with the Gen y. I have pulled one with the Shocker and couldn't believe how well it pulled. I have the bumper pull torsion Gen y 2.5" with 5 height positions and can say it's HEAVY! Very well built. First of your videos I've seen and very well done.

Thanks for the video!! Good job. I had a question. I have the GD 31MB also, and currently using the Anderson ultimate hitch which you seem to have used at one point. How much better is the gen y gooseneck hitch?

Have the same setup on my 43ft toy hauler. I love it. Have a short bed ram and a 4inch offset ball for b&w for cab clearance. The gen y is the way to go

I have a 10 3500 with airbags. Towed a 40' toyhauler. The airbags will help the ride height and smoothness as well.

My setup is a reverse leveled LML with the Andersen, the ability to flip the coupler around to adjust heights and tailgate clearance is the winner for me, except for the bucking that comes with it

Did the same swap on my camper. The ride gets even better after break-in.

Thanks guys! Almost convinced to swap to this hitch. First time seeing this, little more research.

There is a an attachment that bolts to the existing gooseneck so you have the option to use either one. I’m using it on my camper now

  • @user-nh4tb8xm7m

The goose neck ball is rated for at least 24000 lbs. So your idea of hooking it up should work

Any plans for a video showing the max turning radius with this hitch and your truck? On flat ground and on a slight slope.

  • @garymurphy9180

Great video. Did the Gen Y hitch move the camper back far enough as not to hit the back glass in a sharp turn. Thanks, have a great day.
