- I ventured up to Caloundra to chase some Bream in the passage.
The conditions were pretty good and because it was a Saturday I made a point of arriving early at the boat ramp otherwise a late start would mean there would be no more parking available.
I am not a fan of fishing in the dark but maybe I might have to invest in some better lighting for times like this.
The quality of the bream this time of year in the passage is very good. While I did not get that 40cm bream - with 6 bream above 30cm - it was a good feed. Спорт
Nice
Great work Johnny enjoy your video’s love watching your catches I get great pleasure from your shows keep them coming Poppyc
Thanks John - I enjoy doing the videos but enjoy the fishing more.
I used to live at coochin Creek as a kid. It was a great place to grow up fishing all the time.
When I retire, I hope to do a bit of fishing in Coochin Creek. Over the years my fishing there has been limited.
Another great video john! I've found using dough with a garlic scent spray you can buy, it really gets them going.
I admit I have my own recipe that I use but honestly you throw together any variation with some sort of scent and bream will take it.
John you were saying thar you were using a small treble hook for your dough mix ,being a treble what size do you use mate,
never though about a treble , always used #4 bream for dough. cHGEERS Chris
Morning John, i fished Caloundra about two weeks ago and i thought it was a bit quiet, and again no really
good fish , that 27cm average 1. about 30cm. picked 10 fish though still a good feed.
Cheers mate, tight lines. Chris.
Hey Chris,
I have been a little luckier - picking up some decent size bream on the two occasions I have fished there this season. I am unsure where you are fishing but don't be afraid to fish in 4 feet of water. They are fun in the shallower water.
@@johnthefishingman Thank's mate i like to try those edges shallow to going deeper ,i think it depends on the school that's swimming by at the time.
John, do you mean flavoured dough with eg cheese, sardines etc when you say dough ? How are you finding the new rods? Love your old style fishing videos.
Hi
Dough is just flour and water and cheese mixed together - I don't use sardines or anything like that but I am sure it would work the same.
I caught 5 of those bream on dough and 3 using bread.
Hey John do you fillet bream or clean them and cook whole.
Both. I fillet and crumb/fry them but recently I have been cooking them whole on the BBQ grill Using a fish cage so they don't stick to the grill - garlic, ginger, chilli, salt and pepper. Perfect.
