Alot of people who don't fish often doesn't realize how long it takes some days to catch them. I caught my biggest fish at times that I was ready to go home and give up but tried that 1 more cast and that when the magic happened. Thanks 👍

There's also those days when it's nothing but toad fish, but that's part of the fun, it makes the good fishing days all the more rewarding.🐟🍀👍

haven't fished in over 10 years, a a kid up into my late 40's nailed em hard in the PAC NW, lotta lake and river fishing for trout salmon, steelhead, then the Puget Sound and pacific ocean, lots of fish, worked commercial fishboats as a young lad as well.. literally been up to my chest in fish! unloading hake, bow holds full, up to 60 tons, it was trucked to pacific rendering for dog and cat food, unreal they sell it at costco today as if its gourmet... I drank and swam in so much hake juice over my chest waders back then I never wanna see another, I can still smell that briny smell, 4 kids in the hold of a 150' catcher by the time its all unloaded each worker is drenched in this brown green fish brine, scales everywhere, arseholes n elbows..the bonus was we got to keep all the good stuff.. rock cod, salmon, steelhead, snapper, all of it, WE ATE FISH in them days for free, fresh fish... I love it

I love watching your fishing show. Not only because its so informative but because i am unable to get to the ocean any more and my poor mobility makes it hard to trverse the beach..
Watching you fishing and talking about it is like sitting on the beach watching a mate. There is somthing about the waves of the pacific on the south coast which is very soothing. Keep on keeping on Rodger and thanks for the break!

I might have said previously (your videos are regularly put before me by RUclips), but whenever I look at an episode I feel compelled to watch. In that, you get my juices going, big time, each and every time.
The salmon look to be fantastic sport and the Thai fishcakes sound magnificent, so I am seriously considering buying a suitable outfit and heading off to one of my Victorian, southern coast beaches to test my luck. Can't wait to acquire some of those fancy, prancy shorts you wear. 😂 😂 . . . I'll (not) look extra smart in a pair of those. 🤣

I've been living in Copenhagen for a few months now and these vids have me very excited to come home and get into beach fishing. Hey Roger, nice video. I fish beaches all the time, and really like your explanation of the rock structure. I like fishing with lightweight Trika rod and Matched up Penn reel. I am fishing a lot like you do, even the step over a wave with 1 foot... lol. The Whiting are all over Hutchison Island, they say there is coral structure just beyond the larger waves around 200 yards out. The beach has a trench where the waves finally crash right at the shore. I know there is a different structure at the other end of the beach, similar to what you just showed, So I will give it a go. Thanks.

Roger your program is very entertaining to me simply because my child hood was spent fishing in New England in the USA your program scratches that itch of experiencing new Oceans with Fascinating fish some whose genus I am not familiar with. But the " Treat" of your program is that you are knowledgeable show many details on how to catch your quarry. Your knowledge of your Quarry and there whereabouts in their/your knowledge in locating the and taking them home to dine upon. Meets that primal delight of hunter gatherer's, definitely you Program deserves local and International Notice, you have enough in your program , to enjoy in ones leisure and encourage people to get out and have the wholesome viscerally satisfaction of fishing . Thank you Roger may Ha SHEM bless you with his presence. During the meditation of FISHING

My favourite spot is also next to a section of rocks on the beach, lots of action there. 🎣
At high tide most of it is submerged so you fish the gutter next to it then.
At low tide you can get onto the rocks to cast into deeper water.. both options are good fun. 😊

Thank you sir! I for one appreciate what you taught me today. I just wonder if I can apply what I've learned to the local beaches here in the USA.

Hello, Thanks for the videos. I have never been keen on fishing but enjoy learning from you. Curious to know if you do fishing tours or actual physical lessons

Thanks for the video, Roger. Although I fish the mid Atlantic beaches here in the US, your tip is universal. The keyword is structure. And this applies to freshwater species as well, where I do most of my fishing.

Moving to NSW soon and stumbled upon this channeled. And much like the fish and most folks here, totally hooked now! Awesome content Roger. Love the way you detail out everything! Tight lines from Sri Lanka.

I used to fish a sandy shallow beach near a point for hours on end. I used tube worms and a hefty 3-4oz pyramid sinker with a good size hook (usually 2/0). The pole was about 9 or 10 foot, so you could get the bait out there. You could catch a huge variety of bottom feeders, rockfish, greenling and more importantly flounder. I have never seen flounder as big as those, they made great eating! I tried the other side of the point, barely any hits. Tube worms were like magic, at least up here in the PNW. That beach was the most productive I have ever seen and I have many fond memories of spending whole days there. The only trouble with the huge flounder: reeling those buggers in, it was like reeling in a brick. Catching 28 to 30 inch flounder made for a great time.
