FISHING REDCLIFFE 5TH MAY 2024

- I decided to try my luck fishing in the Redcliffe area with my main target being snapper.
This is the first time I have fished in this area and with little knowledge regarding actual fishing spots I was a little worried that I was going to have a do-nut day.
There was a 6 knot breeze and a little rain about but it was an enjoyable day on the water. I managed to catch a nice snapper and a 40+ cm tailor (and a couple of sharks) - so at least I caught myself a dinner.
I hope you enjoy the video. - Спорт
Hi John, great video. Thanks again for the Snapper, it tasted really good roasted whole in the oven. 5 stars all round
My local John hope you had a good time 👍
Yep. I will venture out there again and try different areas. As long as the wind is around 5 knots - I think if it is 10 knots it may get uncomfortable in my tinnie.
Love your videos John. Where do you buy Jimmy crane rods and what pound line do you use???
Unfortunately, Jimmy Crane Rods are no longer manufactured by Jarvis Walker - luckily I have several of them.
I was using 12lb line with a 30lb trace.
I probably don't need that heavy a trace - I thought there would have been more ledges and rocky outcrops but where I was fishing the bottom was more shelly and flat.
Got a nice feed there, John! Was that a Pink Snapper?
I have never called them Pink Snapper - yes they are light red colour. I call them snapper or squire.
A great result for a new area John. What were you using, half pillies?
Half pillies on one line and strips of mullet on the other. Caught the snapper on the mullet.
Have you ever tried fishing port of Brisbane for snapper
@@shanewilliams1312 Not yet - I may have to give it a try one day.
@@shanewilliams1312 Hi Shane - I have never ventured down there. Maybe one day
