@@SJ-ef4pv There's nothing better than bread and butter fishing. I love fishing offshore but Whiting give me the same excitement. Straddie is worth the effort if you can get over there 👍
@@dingydate Ha ha 🤣 One bloke cut in front of me while motoring away from the boat ramp. He clearly hadn't seen me so I knocked the boat out of gear so he could pass. When he finally noticed me he apologized and gave me a wave, but the wave put him off balance and tipped him over 🤣 They're frustrating but not all bad.
Thank you for sharing. You have bought back memories of digging blood worms in Boggy Creek , you really earnt every worm but if you couldn't get blood worms there was no point in going fishing for whiting. Only my opinion, but the blood worms would out fish every other bait by miles. You got some very nice whiting congratulations.
Thanks Glenn! I agree with you. The blood worms out fish every other bait, including cribb island worms. Digging them is worth the effort but it takes some commitment.
Hi Adam. Good sesh mate. My recommendation would be to go hit up the council chambers in the nerang for your whiting. Fished a lot but there's a reason for that, the whiting are there. Instead of putting your rod in the gunnel rod holder, try leaning it on the transom to hold a lower angle. Most of the time the hooks down the whithing's gullet so just flick em in unless its a stonker.
Thanks Smithy! I used to fish the Nerang quite a bit, it holds some good fish. This trip was also an RBAFC club trip and our fishing boundaries are north of the seaway. I'll make an effort to try the Nerang again though 👍
Back to basics fishing. Definitely need a four-wheel-drive to go to North Stradbroke.

Hey man down in Sydney we get blood worms the same way you do yabbies into a strainer
That's a good idea, that'd make cleaning them off much easier 👌
@@adamneeson yeah they break too but as long as your using them straight away doesn’t matter their still good

Good one mate 👍👍👍👍👍 I remember going digging bloodworms when I was much younger and it looked as fun as I remember
Thanks Cam! Yep, digging worms is almost a sport in itself 🤣 I enjoy the process but it take a toll on the body.
Blood worms.. are the go.. old man recons 3 to 1 catch rate more then ya yabbies
I agree with your old man, they are my favourite whiting bait. I only wish they were easier to dig!
