    Really enjoyed your detailed demonstration from beginning to end and back again. Most folks won't do this. I have a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and it is terribly hard to find a cover that fits and sturdy and flexible enough to to wrap

    Thanks! I just got a car cover. I appreciate you showing me step by step how to put cover & off. I will be doing this by myself so I know it's possible. Your method seems doable. My sunroof leaks!

      @Zipsmith893 it is important to put it on first with a preliminary fold and then get that first take off folded right and you will be ready for the install and it will always be a easy quick job. Just keep the fold correct and always know the correct way to lay the folded cover on the hood.

    I watched the entire video, I’m going to purchase this cover. The one I got last night is not as nice and no Zipper! Thank you for taking the time to help everyone out!

    I watched the entire video and appreciate your time and effort. But, being s senior citizen who would be attempting this on my Subaru Forester by myself in an area with only grass and dirt, I have decided to forget the whole thing! (I appreciate the comments regarding the dirt issue-I hadn’t thought about that! I don’t have a nice cement driveway on which to spread the cover out.) I can’t imagine anyone with a double garage going to the trouble or expense of a car cover!

      @user-vc9ms2tq9w I will answer your questions. I traveled in my RV towing my Jeep for 6 months out of the year. The car cover keep a lot of sap and other stuff off my finish. As far as having to lay it out on the ground. I lay it out on a large tarp type material to do the initial fold of the cover. Once it is folded, it never hits the ground again. From the first folding, I can easily install on my Jeep, then when I want to remove, I fold up in my special manner. Notice I did not put it on the ground. With it folded, I place it in the storage bag for next time. Next time I need to cover, I take it out of the bag and gentle carry it to the Jeep, lay it on the hood and proceed to unfold. I believe you thought you had to lay it on the ground overtime to fold up. My video clearly demonstrated the steps to install and remove.
      I have used my cover for a number of years and have not seen a dirt problem. some folks may have a lot of dirt, well, a cover may get dirty. I am mostly worried about the pine sap in my driveway. If I did not cover it when it is out it would be covered in sap. Now rethink that cover idea and I think you would like it and my folding method is easy for seniors, I am 79. Good luck on what ever you decide.

      @@samowens44 Thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment. I have a Subaru Forester which is tall enough that I can’t reach the roof. I also have chronic back pain and an adversity to our hot, humid North Carolina summers. ( I, too, am in my seventies and I live alone.) I find it difficult to keep my car clean and am afraid of scratching the finish with dirt when putting on the cover. After watching your video and giving it some thought, a car cover might not be suitable for me. With the economy being what it is, I am being more careful about buying things that I will probably end up not using! Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to educate your viewers. You do a great job!

    Thank you! I wish I had seen your video before attempting to use my cover. It was hard, but now I know better :)

    • @samowens44
      @samowens44  8 месяцев назад

      @grealtor3-21 yes, without a folding sequence for the cover, it is hard to just throw the cover on. Rolling and folding the cover on a clean area the first time out of box Will allow for a controlled application and then the reverse action taking it off will be ready for next time. I have used it for years while camping to keep car from getting all messed up from trees.

      @kevinmckenna5389 you can get a wet cover and need to remove it. Just do not leave it rolled up too many days before installing again and allow to dry.

    I have a similar car cover, and I park my car outside. My problem is the cover gets dirty, and I can't figure out how to keep dirt from getting to the felt liner. Do you wash your cover before you remove it? The way you roll it will make felt liner to be in contact with outside cover which is usually pretty dirty.

    • @samowens44
      @samowens44  Год назад

      I live in a community with no dirt road. Just grass and paved streets, so I do have pine sap from trees. That is what I use the cover for. You should wash the cover before removing. The way I fold my cover makes for quick and easy installation. And removable.

    • @samowens44
      @samowens44  Год назад +1

      @rn9167 yes, you height would present a challenge for installing and removing the cover. Your Rav4 needs to be measured for length and go to the website to find the cover model that fits within that dimension. The website is on the description section of the video. Hit more if you can not see all of description.

    This is actually painful to watch. Obviously it is all wrong. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER put a car cover anywhere near the ground. NEVER. A car cover should be unfolded on top of a car with the fabric side against the vehicle and then should be unfolded. NEVER should a car cover touch the ground where it can pick up dirt, dust or pebbles. Anytime you are watching someone play with a car cover anywhere near the ground, they have no idea what they are doing. Car covers should also ONLY be put onto cleanly washed cars. Hear stories about car covers scratching paint? Yup because of things like this guy is doing. First rule of car covers? THEY NEVER TOUCH THE GROUND.

    • @samowens44
      @samowens44  2 года назад +5

      @Thomas K Odell, thanks for your comment. I agree about putting the cover on the ground. In my demonstration I placed a Mat down to not place it on the ground. The mat was too short and had to add some black visquine for the full cover. The first time you get the cover, it is best to first lay the cover out to find front and back. Then roll the cover as I demonstrate. Then it will be easy to install the first time. So I am glad you brought up this fact about the ground. Folks, to layout your new car cover out, be sure to follow my demonstration and lay a protective cover on the ground area and not on the ground, Once you get it folded as I show, it will always go on the car and unfold and fold back up. You will love how easy it is to put on and take off.

      @@Whocares282 - Car covers are never to be put on the ground. Period. They are to be put on top of the car and unfolded from there. This video is poorly done and it's too bad that you didn't put more thought into it.
