I was reading an interview with Dee Snider, and he was saying that music today doesn't have enough "middle finger". There's too much whinning and complaining. He talks about how back in the 80's instead of complaining about things, they railed against it. That's what music should be like!
the point of him falling off the stage is to show.. either he turtles and doesnt become a rockstar, OR he sucks it up and performs like a professional!! 1:59 …..and the rest is history
You can see Mats thinking the same thing when he stops the stage hand from going to help. You can see him looking at Chris sort of saying, "Ok kid now's your chance."
You know, I'm just a regular guy! Who grew up with the posters of these guys on my walls.. AND NOW I'M ONE OF THEM!! !! thats right im standing here living proof that if you work hard enough and you want it bad enough dreams do come true so follow your dreams man, follow your dreams.. Because we all die young.
That part where he sings right after he gets up. One of the single best scenes in any movie, anywhere. That soooooo fucking kicks ass. Man I love being able to kick those vocs. I did it one day in the Home Depot parking lot and I scared these two older women who walked cautiously looking over their shoulder after that. Ha ha ha !!!!
They also recreated the audience nicely without having hundreds of flashes going every second. Nowadays you can't enjoy a concert without people taking thousands of pics. These people have no idea how much they will regret doing that down the road. Just enjoy the show.
Saw steelheart last night. Great show. They did Blood polution for the second song and to introduce it, Mike Matijevic asks if anyone has seen the movie, the he goes "damn, that F'in Wahlberg can sing huh?" LOL. Mili hasn't lost a note in all these years.
I agree, and it really captures the feel of how glam and hair bands appealed to us growing up in the eighties. The 80's was a great decade. People enjoyed themselves more and for the most part, music didn't lecture us. Steel Dragon was Crue, Warrant, GnR, Poison and Helix all rolled into one.
You know, I'm just a regular guy! Who grew up with the posters of these guys on my wall.. AND NOW I'M ONE OF THEM!!!!! So follow your dreams man, follow your dreams.. Because we all die young.. *starts singing We All Die Young..* haha I love this movie.
I'm over 50, but I know a great movie when I see one; this is one. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and since I'm an 80s rock fan I embrace it even more!
Tengo 67 años (68 en abril) y naci con el Rock debajo del brazo, ya que provengo de familia de musicos ! Me encanta Mark Walberg y su interpretacion en "Rock Star"! VIVA EL ROCK ETERNO!!!
the bands real name is steelheart. they wrote most of the songs preformed by steeldragon. steeldragon is actually a "super" band consisting of zack wylde on guitar, jeff pilson on bass and jason bohnam on drums. steelhearts lead singer, micheal matijevic is actually singing all the songs
It was cool seeing the movie while living in Pittsburgh, great flick. Killer they had the 3 Rivers Stadium shot before it was torn down years later - (in the car pushing scene) Even saw 2nd Ave that I took into work, dahn tahn. lol Seeing it at a brand new Loews theater w/stadium seating, you thought you were at the concert! killer
Hey all, Yes It is a great song, Nice to know Mike Matijevic is well known because of this song. and just so you know Jeff Scott Soto also sang for the fictional band Steel Dragon, which featured Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson and Jason Bonham for the soundtrack of the movie Rock Star along with Michael Matijevic of the band Steelheart, whose second album featured Soto on background vocals. Background vocals not lead. fyi Thanks for reading Rock On!!
Colorful is by The Verve Pipe written by Brian Vander Ark. It is the only song Mili did not sing for Mark. Mili even did the "Hallelujah" when Mark was in the church.
I love how the movie starts off with him playing these small garage concerts with his Steel Dragon cover band while living at his moms place and working this shit job then he gets a lucky break and BAM, 0:27 he's on stage with the actual Steel Dragon making an entrance into a 20,000 person arena. That's a rockstar !!
WOW that's too real when Mark fell dwn the steps it was scary I'm sure he had a great stunt double. It's so Awesome to hear Mili's voice coming out of him but I love everything he does. I'm gonna buy the movie I'm n love with Steelheart My Favorite Badass Guy's from Alpha 2 Omega! Thank's for posting this video I love this song🕸🖤🕸🎤🕸🎸🕸💣🕸🔥🕸🎹🕸✌🕸☝️
You know when you got two actual Metal veterans on stage! They're the ones head banging away. Zakk Wylde (Ozzy) and Jeff PIlson (Dokken). Dominic is kind of just standing their tapping his foot. Dude! This is not a blues jam! LOL
I had a feeling that was Zakk Wylde from the solo. Just didnt recognize him till now. Its 2024 and I barely recognized him and ive watched this many times. A+ for google and my wifes trivia. Solid fucking song i wish I could get this in an album version without the original band and singers
Check out Chillin Sun doing WE All Die Young.THe Guitarist wrote the song WE All Die Young.Kenny Kanowski is the former guitarist of the band Steelheart now with the band Chillin Sun.Check Out the song A Little Too High by Chillin Sun
The problem with that is....Marky Mark wasn't actually singing this song live. I'd pay to see them too, espec with the singer that originally recorded this song. GOOG SHIT!
and you're a music expert. all right, so from now everybody's gonna listen to your smart thoughts :D so tell me please, what is rock to you? jonas brothers?
You say Soulja Boy-I say Judas Priest You say Miley Cyrus-I say Led Zepplin You say T-Pain-I say Kiss You say Flowers-I say Metallica You say Pink-I say Iron Maiden You say Hip Hop-i say shut the fuck up You say Pop-I scream Heavy Metal!! You say hanah montana-i hit you in the face 92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos. DON'T LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE!!!
Don't you just hate it whan these 'Rock Star' type movies come out and the singer guy doesn't even have a good voice? That's why I love this movie, they got Matijevic and Scott-Soto in to do some REAL Rock n' Roll vocals. Now those guys can sing... For the record, Miljenko (Mike) Matijevic of Steelheart did the voice of Chris Cole/Izzy (Mark Wahlberg)and Jeff Scott-Soto of Journey did the voice of Bobby Beers (Flemyng). That should clear that up...
Mili did the singing voice for Mark. It is a common arguement. I only know what Mili "Mike" says himself and what articles and interviews say. Credited as Mike Matijevic in the movie and soundtrack for the songs he sang for Mark. "We All Die Young" is written by Mili and is from his CD "Wait" and a bonus on his EP "Just a Taste". Credits for Blood Pollution say Vocals by Mike Matijevic written by Twiggy Ramirez.
I don't if I could've got back up after that fall down steel stairs. But its the best scene on the movie. With the best quote." I'm gonna take a piss".
Man that was 80s metal....singer busts his ass, gets up screaming "YOU WANT BLOOD!!!" Damn I miss those days.
I was reading an interview with Dee Snider, and he was saying that music today doesn't have enough "middle finger". There's too much whinning and complaining. He talks about how back in the 80's instead of complaining about things, they railed against it. That's what music should be like!
In 2021 this comment is 1000x more true
I love that really high note after the guitar solo. Gives me goosebumps.
The way he picks up the performance after almost breaking his neck is brilliant. Even though it was a movie but the portrayall is brilliant.
And then breaks out the firehose for the haters
When he stands up with blood on his face and screams at the top of his lungs... that's metal as fuck 🤘
🤘
the point of him falling off the stage is to show.. either he turtles and doesnt become a rockstar, OR he sucks it up and performs like a professional!! 1:59 …..and the rest is history
YOU WANT BLOOOOOOODDDDD??? 😈
You can see Mats thinking the same thing when he stops the stage hand from going to help. You can see him looking at Chris sort of saying, "Ok kid now's your chance."

They also recreated the audience nicely without having hundreds of flashes going every second. Nowadays you can't enjoy a concert without people taking thousands of pics. These people have no idea how much they will regret doing that down the road. Just enjoy the show.
The scream that follows the guitar solo is so cool lol I wished I could do that
I like the gag reel at the end of the movie when Wahlberg is about to do a take on stage and they start playing "Good Vibration."
FAVORITE song off the whole soundtrack!

🥀Awesome Song sung by Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart lead vocals on this baby 🥀☝️

\m/
You know, I'm just a regular guy! Who grew up with the posters of these guys on my wall.. AND NOW I'M ONE OF THEM!!!!! So follow your dreams man, follow your dreams.. Because we all die young.. *starts singing We All Die Young..* haha I love this movie.

Blas Elias is their Cover band drummer from the REAL band Slaughter check them out!

01:35 today, the show would have been stopped and all would have rushed to his aid. Here, instead, you get an epic fking moment.
Growing up in the 80's was awesone, and if you didn't attend a show and wish you wete the guys on stage you would be lying!

love this movie. and the fact that my favorite musician (zakk wylde) makes a cameo in this helps it along as well...
@larmeh Trust me, I went to a lot of metal shows, this is what they were like. Never saw a guy fall on stage but this captures the energy.
Mark Sang some parts too, only the one's that don't have high pitched screaming, he sang the beginning of "We All Die Young"
As well as Jeff Scott Soto from Yngwie Malmsteens band.. They each did tracks. I think this one was Soto, he was great!
This movie turn my life around!!!
Actually i like the Rock Star version of We All Die Young better, gave me goosebumps when I watched the movie, hehe.
Nothing beats the start of a METAL SHOW!!!!!!
the singer of steel heart and jeff scott soto did almost all the vocals. Myles Kennedy sang this song
the guy who really sang this is called jef scott soto. He used to sing for yngwie malmsteen in the 80s.
did mark walberg sing that song?
tamistar13 no way bro
was singer of steel heart

What is it he says immediately after standing up and recovering from the fall? I can never make it out.
Brian Garrigan I think it's "YOU WANT BLOOOD" lol
YOU WANT BLOOD??!
I wasn't talking technically. They represent the genre the same way those bands did. =-}
WOW that's too real when Mark fell dwn the steps it was scary I'm sure he had a great stunt double. It's so Awesome to hear Mili's voice coming out of him but I love everything he does.
