I FINALLY got my first harvest of silk banana! They are beyond amazing! I have a dozen pups from the 2 original trees, and I am scattering them around my banana farm this week. Out of the 6 or so varieties I have growing, by far, these are my favorite. They are also...just beautiful fruit.
I've seen u might have trouble getting bananas to grow fast enough in ur area before winter. I watch the millennium gardener too. He says pot ash, blood meal and ur pee. Makes them grow fast. I've added this to my bananas down here if Florida and I'm getting amazing growth right now. New leaves like every day
WOWWW!!! Just amazing!! So happy for you!! I’m amazed by your resilience on growing bananas in a climate that they usually can’t stand! I’m just very happy that you’ve succeeded and now you’re eating you home grown bananas! 🍌 Incredible! 😃 what a reward there! 🥳 God bless you and I really hope that you will continue in having success with your other banana species! All the best from Canada! 🙂🇨🇦
Wow I can almost taste your home-grown banana. The expression on your face told me how good home-grown is. Inspired to grow my own from sunny Perth, Western Australia. Thank you so much. Big fan 🌞
WOW! Awesome 👏 I’m glad you finally got to try your home grown Bananas. Great Job definitely worth the time and effort doing all that work and in the end you get to eat them.🍌❤️
Incredible! So glad you were able to get them to ripen up! I'm hoping one day I will manage it somehow, although I think I will have to grow them in the greenhouse all year to get enough growth out of them here.
Update is here and what a wonderful experiment!!! Probably the prettiest rac of bananas I've seen. Frost is a beast for us in 8ab. Sometimes we get all 4 seasons in 1 day in NrthEast TX 😆 🤣 the Greenhouses were insanely awesome, but I like the idea of seing what they can do. I'm currently saving my babies in a barrier with straw. We've been looking forward to bananas for a while. This taste test at the end is more motivation to make it happen. We'll see how it goes. Happy growing to U! Looking forward to the next update Peace N Love
What a pleasant surprise!! I’ve been waiting for this video release - you have given me hope for my bananas next year in 7b Arkansas :) Keep us updated on that VC. I have brought mine inside in large pots (cut to half height) and also I have stored two 9ft pseudostems under my crawlspace.
Definitely a good surprise. I did not think they would ripen. But I’ll keep updating on the VC. I think I might be able to keep it alive with a mild winter. I’ll probably cut the pup off though and bring it indoors just in case.
I wish I had seen your channel when I lived in SC. I had tons of space and very few days below freezing, and would have loved to grow a lot of bananas. I'm in Texas now, and I'm hoping to start next year.
11:25 CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 so happy for you! I have a question… I live in Florida, I have a banana tree that I purchased close to a year ago. That just started fruiting last month? I've never done this before and had no idea that I would even get fruit. I'm just not sure the process of all of this? I would sure love your help I'd love to be able to taste my homegrown bananas! My bananas are really small and skinny the bottom layers of bananas are not fully fruiting out. They surely don't look like yours. Any help would be wonderful and greatly appreciated.
This is awesome! So cool you finally got to eat Bananas you grew

Also try the kokopo banana. It's a dwarf. Only takes 5-6 weeks for for the bananas to be ready onces they start.
Good advice. I’ll check out that variety

It's best to bake them in air fryer or oven. Eat with any sweet sauce. Chocolate, strawberry, caramel sauce Nutella or whatever.
wow, beautiful bananas! good job!

There's no shame in a man crying. Happy to know that you finally had success getting your bananas to fully ripen. Enjoy!
