    We definitely want to grow bananas. Thanks for the tips and tricks! Mulch is definitely one of our key success traits we have on our property.

      Hello @AmzBackyardOrchardandVineyard, thank you for watching and commenting! I feel that bananas are very easy to grow here in the Phoenix area. I hope my tips and tricks work for you, let me know if you have any other questions! Mulch really seems to be the key to success here in the desert for almost all plants. I checked out your channel and it looks like you have an amazing property here in AZ! If you're ever open to giving me a tour of your yard to feature on The Green Yard just let me know, it would be great to collaborate with you!

    Love your videos, I live in Phoenix as well. I am starting my own garden and I have two miniature bonanza peach tree. My plan is to keep them in a pot for a little while and then put them in the ground.
    I have noticed some slight yellowing, does that mean I am not giving them enough water or should I give them more?
    Also is there any special food or mulch that I should use with peach here in az?

      Hello @SportTrik, thank you for watching and commenting! I also appreciate your kind words! That is so amazing that you are starting your garden here in Phoenix. I would recommend, if you have a place to do so, put them in the ground now. I've noticed that, while Peaches can grow in pots, they seem to do a lot better in the ground. I tried growing mine in a grow bag for awhile and it was not as happy as it is now. I would say that the slight yellowing is probably from overwatering but it really depends on what soil it's planted in. Right now I water my Peach tree once every 2 weeks in The Green Yard. I would recommend putting on regular wood chip mulch. For my tree I use agricultural sulfur and fish emulsion for amendments. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Nice! Do you keep the dead banana leaves on in winter to keep them warmer?

    • @thegreenyardaz
      @thegreenyardaz  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello @SuburbicultureMicroFarm, thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, I keep the dead banana leaves on in the winter to help protect the banana stalks from any additional frost we may get. I am just now going through and removing the dead leaves since all of our banana clumps are starting to push new growth. I checked out your channel and saw that you have a beautiful Green Yard in Gilbert, if you're ever open to giving me a tour of your yard to feature on The Green Yard just let me know, it would be great to collaborate.

      @SuburbicultureMicroFarm, that is great to hear! I'm glad you're open to collaborating. I completely understand the weeds, I'm definitely dealing with the same issues! The best way is to send me an email at thegreenyardarizona@gmail.com. I'll keep an eye out for an email and we can hopefully schedule something from there!
