[EXCLUSIVE] MTA MaBSTOA: 2023 New Flyer XE40 “CHARGE NG”

4965 FINALLY decided to grow some balls and run on the M42. I would have found this out too late or would have had to try and catch it but it came to me somehow. I was gonna go for a walk to get my apple fitness steps in and walk from PABT to my grandmas but 4965 was just chillin on the M42 so I said fuck it let’s give it a shot lol.
Anyways, 4965 is the pilot XE40 NG for the MTA, 4966 is the trainer I guess since it still hasn’t entered service, and whenever the time comes, 4967-5024 will be built, which will, or SHOULD be getting delivered to Quill, Kingsbridge, Charleston, East New York, and I believe Grand Avenue. Unfortunately, Jamaica opted out apparently. These 60 units will be kept permanently unlike NFI XE40s 0011-0015 and Potato Proterra BE40s 0016-0020. They should get them in the coming months.
PERSONAL ASSUMPTIONS (NOT CONCLUSIONS):
When Quill and Kingsbridge gets these, they will likely send LFS HEVs to Manhattanville to finally retire the remaining 2010 Next Gens up in that bih (sad days). When Grand gets them, idrk ngl, maybe some XD40s to Flatbush? Could help reduce the Next Gen count there too. When Charleston gets them, they could potentially go to Jamaica to send out their remaining XD40s to Brooklyn, if they decide to continue on with that plan. It’s unknown whether that will happen as the last official XD40 sent out from there was back in April iirc, but with the exception of 7550-7551 which went to Manhattanville, (now at Grand Avenue as of September 2023), and 7568, also going to Manhattanville and still there, all three units going there around April or May, they’ve only sent out one, 7571, to Grand Avenue. Dk what’s up with L avenue, they have a shitton of XD40s on loan right now which ALL have Grand Avenue Stickers, including Aesys XD40 7592.
