Best freaking TV/ Display channel / website of all time !! You guys do the work and the testing that no one else does! Great job guys and you personally took the time to help me over Facebook chat in 2016! Thank you
Hi I have a question for you I want to get that 940e but I never really seen at TV I can get it for 2,800 I don't care about games just TV shows in 720 and 1080 and all the TV shows like Star Trek do you recommend that TV over the Q8 75 inch version
At 22:45 I have the X900F and I totally disagree with the bad viewing angle thing. The side viewing angle is very good even for a VA panel TV. I had an LG SK8000 that was IPS and had horrible side viewing angle issues.
Yeah I agree there some IPS panels that are worse. Friends Sony X800D was trash and even sitting in front 1 metre off to the side you can see all kinds of blooming and colour loss. Nowhere near that bad on my Sony X930E which has VA
You're running the Samsung in movie mode, which is the darkest setting. That's why one of you thinks it too dark during sup vs bat @ 12.45. Also, warm 2 slants the color toward red, which is why the sky and building is so reddish orange @12.34. Run it in standard mode and pic is stunning. you can turn down the backlight some in that setting too, as it is plenty bright. Also, leave local dimming to normal instead of high. All the motion and color filters can be left off, which is the way you have it, I believe. Contrast and color can be tweaked in the Samsung menu for an even better pic. Only thing I don't like about Samsung is the optical audio out totally cuts signal between channel changes and causes the relays to click in my Bryston processor as the signal is lost and then found again. I believe both TV's have a detachable C7 power cord if you're into that sort of upgrade.
Movie mode on my Q8FN has a much darker scene vs Dynamic or Standard.. This Q8FN is set to Movie, so measuring the brightness drops significantly since it makes whites warmer than cooler. Why they didn't scroll through the quick settings to find the proper HDR is mind blowing when testing NIT peak brightness..
Dynamic mod is the worth picture mod and cruch al details, standart is a mix from this two. And it only look brighter because it have another tonemapping for hdr. It brights hdr up but crush a lot of whitespectacularhilights. You can use dinamic contrast in movie mode to achief the same result
So do I use true cinema for motion all the time or have all motion off all the time. For regular 4K and ultra 4K. I’m streaming everything. Thanks in advance!
In Europe this Samsung model has finally arrived and it's called Q8DN. I'm planning to buy one. Today it's about 400€ more than the Sony X900F (XF9005 in Europe) and I think that if you can afford it it's totally worth it.
Considerable difference in price for a few points better, I sincerely still prefer the model with lower price, many may not agree but the set of cheaper model is enough for my room, could be better however, with this amount I am satisfied by what delivery.
Thank you for the detailed reviews .. I wish you guys also did lower end models since I never manage to find reviews for lower end models. Esp with scores that reflect the price instead of comparing it to 4000/10000eur oled screens.
I bought a Q8FN and LOVED the picture, However I had to return it due to really bad DSE. I could see it in almost everything I watched and games I played. I took it back and I picked up the X900F. I think the Q8FN ruined me because I enjoyed the picture (color) and the User Interface and remote so much more! At least I don't have to look at a dirty screen I guess.
@@maxwellmusick The OS is shit but bought a apple tv 4k and its amazing. If you are relying on the smart OS than move on. Paired with apple tv 4k this thing has incredible value.
Noticed on second nitt test at 18:09 how much input lag is on the Sony that even though you pause it for the big flash, it has already passed on the samsung. Technically your not testing the same scene, or at least the same frame.
You can adjust the TVs to match more though. The Sony's contrast it's up to high you can see details getting lost in the great sections of video and you can turn up the color a bit on it too. So why not do this? Is it because an HDR mode the TV preventing you from adjusting the color settings? I don't think I'll prefer HDR when watching or playing anything until picture settings are adjustable cuz they aren't on my LG monitor.
I like the calibrations with the Samsung hear they've done a good job getting rid of the funky purple Pixar look but the Sony I am not liking what I'm seeing. when they show the blank screens the Sony looks bluish in the Samsung looks grayish and usually Sony looks grayish and Samsung looks purplish.
great video just a suggestion volume was a bit too low hard to hear you guys. Would love to see a comparison to the LG OLED c8 and b8 and the difference the chipset the alpha 7 to the alpha 9.
As of right now shopping the 65" Sony 900f is $1599 and the Samsung Q8FN 65" is $2199. Here in US can still grab a Sony 65" Z9D for $1999 which I almost did instead of the 900F I got last weekend. The Z9D crushes the Q8FN and the 900F. My only complaint regarding the 900F is blooming around any words displayed over a black background which can't be corrected. You could constantly go up and up in price and get a better tv. The 65Z9D being available here in US until supplies run out for $1999 is the best led tv to buy right now...no dispute.
By far the best reviewers I've seen. It's all good and well giving facts and figures like most reviewers do but to actually show us all what it all entails is more important for the consumer IMO. It's nice to see a side-by-side comparison between sets as even in store you never really have the opportunity to do so.
U have to do more tweaking to the 900f. Cinema pro most accurate color reproduction. For HDR content on the sony, turn live color up to medium it has same color punch as samsung.
EyesOpen for real. It's fucking gray with their settings. My 900f looks so much better with live color on. I know it's saturates but that's better then no color at all.
wow. what a difference the glossy screen with anti glare makes on the Q8. the blacks and details disappeared on the 900F. you could barely even see anything with all those reflections on the 900F. but on the Q8 everything was visible and the blacks actually looked black.
Same on my 65x930e, during the day (not sunny day) I don't feel the high brightness, it feels like a ordinary tv, almost unwatchable, lots of dark details are lost. At night is almost unwatchable because of bright highlights, so.... yeah.
THA REAL K.I.D it’s was a live stream my guy. If they were to somehow stream in 4K live, no one would be able to watch it unless they are apart of that 3% with gigabit internet 😂 even with a 30 second delay that would be amazing
@@Nephilimator it would be alot higher than netflix and amazon prime that's for sure . RUclips doesent throw the type of cash netflix does at streaming .
Yeah it's weird. The technical people that knows more always have less subs while your normal youtuber who has flashy videos and not as technical have a ton more subs.
Gents, I really wanted to watch this video but the audio is VERY LOW as after turning it up all the way I could barely hear your mate in the light blue shirt as he speaks very softly. It's a problem and I am certain I am not the first person to mention this.
The Q8 SMOKES the X900F in color & contrast, but this could also be due to the fact that this should have done in a dark room, and also the Sony looks as though its on standard or cool, while the Q8 is in Warm? I prefer the Q8 overall here, looks like an OLED, everything just POPS!!!
The Samsung Crushes the blacks and ruins all the details. The Sony wins big. Also look at the sky in the first image they have up, Sony is waaaay better.
@@maxwellmusick ... Funny thing is i went through three 65" Q8's, all with bad DSE for gaming. Ended up with the 75" X900F and couldn't be happier! Before this i also owned the 75" Q7FN, 65" Z9D, and 75" Q6FN, traded all of them in. Very happy with my X900F.
@@EtherMagic I have seen older comments of yours everywhere on this comment section. Appearently you ate your own words haha. Black crush vs Light bleed. Indeed a hard choice but Sony only bleeds if you go nuts with brightness and dimming.
Hi guys,i need some help if possible.I have a Samsung Tv and im using color space :native.and really love the way it looks.I also have X900f does this tv have something similar?( i tried live color but it doesnt even come close)
That first question got a terrible answer lol. The answer is : if you plan to use FreeSync that yes otherwise, No! $500 for minuscule differences is not noticeable to most. Think this way if it’s $500 more it needs to be $500 better.
I'd like to see a video review. I read the review on their site yesterday and it's awesome. I'd like to see some video footage of it though. There aren't enough people with the tv yet as I don't see any videos at all on youtube of the quantum.
you guys realize that the Sony clipping causing higher nits is a BAD thing right? the Q8 being dimmer but showing the detail and color is better. if it lost it's tone mapping it would also measure brighter. the Q8 is capable of matching the highlight nits but in those instances it's correctly mapping . I thought this was a great video though!
On Sony, it clips only above 90% contrast and depends on the model. My 65x930e clips above 94% so it's plenty enough. You don't really need to keep it at 100% but Sony gives you few more steps. On OLED, even raising color at 60, the colors starts to look very weird so basically anything above 50 is just useless.
The english subtitles are hilarious. You should try em on. lol. Kidding aside, great video. I'm still confused wether samsung or sony. Im much of a gamer but basing on the visuals, I like the sony better. But with the interpolation, I think the samsung wins.
I own the 49X900F and it's a fantastic TV. At least a remarkable upgrade over the 43X800D I use to own. Blacks are very deep, colors are vibrant as hell, just everything about it for me is almost flawless. Great TV for gaming and even using a framemeister on it for retro gaming. Super NT looks awesome on it too. Only problems are the leggings which is very meh unless you're someone planning to get a soundbar to place it between the legs of the TV and avoid watching the TV at an angle. Angle has a white wash look but staring at it straight in the middle, looks fantastic but obviously that's how you're suppose to watch 4K HDTVs to begin with. I own a bunch of videos related to movies and games and a playlist on my channel demonstrating the TV. Colors are off due to being recorded on a Samsung S9. In person though, looks great.
I agree with you my friend. sony xf9005 is propably the best lcd. fantastic true colors, upscale is marvelous. I think sony not have competition in picture quality
49 900F How are viewing angles? Seating is a 3 seat couch and single chair, all accross opposite wall. Will that be ok or do I need to find a wider angle TV?
You people realise that you have to turn Live Color On for HDR? For SDR Live Color will just oversaturate colors while its must for HDR since it increase both brightness and color volume.
i'm own the 900f and this setting they use is not the best for sony they shoud use Cinema Pro mode and reduce contrast to 90 so the picture will not lose any detail and over blow like Custom mode with max Contrast and in Cinemema Pro HDR mode (Only HDR!) put live color on medium and color will easily match the Q8FN , Even though peak brightness is worse than Q8FN but the Real Scene Brightness is better on 900F
I was going to buy the sony until i have seen the complaints about the android ui. Samsung nu8005, anything good for casual viewing and movies once a while?
I want to upgrade in size from my 49 inch x900e. I'm hoping for a price drop back to $1500 for the 55 inch Q8f after Christmas. The 900e has a perfectly serviceable picture but it's a bit boring if you ask me. Even the MU8000 had much more vibrant colors (though it was way too dim). If you want to call the Sony more "realistic" you can, but maybe if I want reality I'll stare out the window. My only worry is dirty screen effect for sports on the Q8f. Is this really a problem?
@James Stephens read reviews. The 55inch xf version has 48dimmingzones(xe90 has 35) the 65inch version has 60zones and the xe90 45zones. And overall the xf90 is 200nits brighter
Great review. I am sensitive to jitter when moving objects in a movie Which one does a good job to keep the pictures smooth with out changing the colors.
Thank you very much I love 💕 this video, So I am not a gamer I am Netflix movies series person y 1/2 at day of Att broadcasting CNBC Right now. Price difference is 100 US dollars apart 1200 for the 900F. And. Q8fn. 1300. My living room set up is. Semi bright. I will say. 40 % on the bright side .Yes I do have windows but I have wooden shades and dark tinted windows so no glare 0 light reflection. Which one will perform better ???? .
I’m thinking about buying one of these two TV’s. When I’ve seen the TV’s with my own eyes the 900f looks better to me, but all reviews I’ve seen online point to Samsung. Maybe it’s prior to calibration that makes the reviewers see what they see.
The Q8FN looks closer to OLED, much closer, which is why it is rated higher. It also has a wider color gamut (as you can see in this video) and deeper blacks, 900F looks super washed out. You must be use to 1980's CRT TV's, if that's the look your going for by all means get the X900F. 👍
Why would you leave Quantum Dot in for the QLED, but turn off Triluminos on the 900F? Also the noise reduction still helps on a 4K Blu-Ray as not all 4K movies are mastered properly, but to each their own I guess.
Thank you guys after watching this video and some of your older ones I decided to buy the Q8Fn and wao this tv rocks !! I have the Xbox One S for now and playing Battlefield 1 is just crazy thank you again keep up the good work and Samsung should pay you guys for helping us in buying their Tvs thanks to you guys input.
Hmmm maybe Samsung do give them freebies? It seems this test is swayed towards the Samsung as they use totally different settings on each TV for contrast and saturation, making the Samsung look better and the Sony washed out on their HDR example. Sony gets better results for up-scaling material to 4K, better motion flow, and also having Dolby Vision (better for accurate colour reproduction in movies). So I think I will save £££'s and go with Sony. Just need to avoid using the TV's smart features as they are known to suck and you need to game in 4K as the lag on 1080p is too much!
After watching this, i am still undecided. Which one should I get if dynamic range is my highest priority ? Cannot accept crushing shadows or blown highlights. Or should I consider LG C8 ?
c8 will blow either of these TVs away. Now is the time of year to buy it too. It really isnt even close. I've owned the 900e and 930e. I put the 930 and c7 right next to each other. Was expecting at least hdr gaming to be better on the Sony since it has so much higher peak brightness, but nope, even hdr on the oled was much better looking. It's all about the perfect black and self emissive property of OLED. Contrast is what matters most.
Don't listen to this guy, my brother owns a B6 OLED and is so sick and tired of babying his TV from burnin issues it's driving him nuts, he actually sent me a 2 page text on why not to get an OLED a few weeks back when i was deciding. I owned the 65" Q8 and it's honestly the closest I've ever seen to OLED, and IMO is the most well balanced TV on the market right now, even more so then the Q9. Ended up trading it in for a 75" Q6FN as the 65" Q8 was too small for my setup. If i could afford the 75" Q8 I'd do it in a heart beat. I'm trading in my Q6 next week for a 75" Q7, i could get a X900F but the blooming problems, the horribly slow and clunky Android OS, it's color processing issue's along with it's horrible input lag for gaming (mainly Switch) is not something I'm trying to deal with. Q7 beats out the X900F in almost all categories aswel, looking forward to my upgrade. 👍
I brought the 82" nu8000 for this exact same reason, I dont think there is another tv with so many features geared towards gamers, I was looking at the sony 900f, but that lag at 1080p is a no go especially when using a Nintendo switch. Samsung has no problem with this.
Do the Samsungs still dim/brighten the screen based on content? Even when all the ECO settings are off? I know our 2014 Samsung has it and I don't like it.
Liked the video! A video review/lesson comparing 2018/current year Samsung mid-high end models to mid-high 3 or 5 year old Samsung models might be helpful as I haven't found anything like this online (could be other brands too), e.g. if I have an H7150 model (2014 model year) is the UN8000 going to be a better picture or do I need to buy QLED 6/7/8/9? Anyhow, in the era of $1200 phones I pulled the plug and just ordered Q8FN 65" ($2300 in U.S. right now); 'upgrading' from 65" H7150 (2014 model) that I love and bought based on rtings review. The H7150 is not 4K so I feel like I may be missing out on picture quality and I'm guessing/hoping I'll notice a difference even though most content I watch is 1080p or 720p. The Q8FN I ordered will be same size tv, just 4K and newer - we shall see. If anyone has any experience in upgrading from a 3 or 4 year oldish TV would love to hear your experience. Ty
It's even more saturated in native on color bro something seems off with your q8fn for real like wow I have had it up against the x900f and on regular content the whites pop more on the q8fn and everything really does idk what's up with your lol what I dont get is how on warm2 the q8fn is accurate it really isnt where I tested it I had to out it to warm 1 also and if you notice the Sony is cooler so how are they both close to being accurate when one is much warmer then the other I think the comparison would be better with the q8fn on warm1 and that by itself makes bright scenes pop more because the whites are cooler and reds and oranges as we all know idk something seems off
considering the camera you use to capture the video, the youtube then compress, and then the monitor each user is using, kind of silly to try to compare what we are seeing with the actual picture.
The one that gives you 10 inches more screen! There's not much point in spending even 1200 on a 4K TV that is under 60". You won't get the image quality benefit from it.
So the Sony 900F gets brighter than the Samsung Q8FN. I thought it was the other way around. Either way, both are plenty bright enough. 75” 900F is being delivered tomorrow. :)
I love it! Highly recommend it. For the picture quality that you get for the price its unbeatable. 4K movies and video games look phenomenal. It upscales cable tv very good as well. 👍
bryce crabtree They’re not pitch black but they are as close as you’ll get with LCD. I don’t notice any blooming. If your set happens to have any you can always use bias lighting and that will get rid of any blooming that you see.
The Samsung gives the best skills in This video, but when you turned the Sony in the cinema pro setting, the Sony looked more Natural than the Samsung, i noticed. Is don't know whatever presettings you used during This event, but cinema pro is the reccommended picture setting foto Sony tv's. Thanks you foto tour contribute, good work. After alle the Samsung is more clear.
Great video guys! Take no notice of that bell end quantum apotheosis, he's just salty that he cannot compete with you guys when it comes to proper testing of various tvs on a consumer level! Much love chaps
The difference of $900 for the 55", for just a reflection handling, and lower response for gaming. Play 1080p content from a the same source whats the picture quality difference? Most people 90% of them dont watch broadcast tv in 4k or hdr. and what about YT 4k, and Netflix 4k a Blu ray inst controllable content
@@Nicky_Biggz sony is brighter. The samsung looks like color was set to warm. You can't see the details during dark scenes on the Samsung compared to the sony.
@@randomrt8135 i have the samsung and it comes with warm 2 default setting. It can be changed as well as anything else calibration wise. The Samsung is the brightest tv out there reaching 1500 nits peak brightness and my blacks looks stellar. Not sure what else to say other than i am over the moon with the 75 inch Samsung q8fn i just bought a week ago.
Q8FN is better, no one's gonna argue that, but the X900F hold it's own. Very washed out muted colors on the X900F in this vid though, but it is also a cheaper TV, $700 cheaper as of right now.
Got the X930E and Samsung NU8. Samsung has artificial colours where mainly the greens look fluoro and almost cartoony, even on nature docos. Sony is so much more accurate. Colour is too saturated on the Samsung, it makes it look fake. Even turning it down you need to do it alot and you can see the colour spectrum is not that good almost like one or two shades only on low and high colour. Obviously in this clip Samsung looks better for greens but watch it at home or in the store and not through a camera that can't show it accurately and you'll have a better understanding.
@@34sld no it won't that TV is totally worthless you know why because it doesn't have a 75-inch anything on the 75 in this day and age is way too small for me I have a 65in OLED in my lip in my bedroom my house is spaced out too much TV quality don't mean nothing to me if the TV is not big I rather have an 85 inch TV with average picture quality 1065 with OLED quality
You operate sony with live color off. It's like without a triluminos display. You have to set live color on medium. Then sony colors just like Samsung!
The Samsung Q series TV's were rated the best gaming TV's of 2018. Not only do they have a ton of features within settings strickly aimed toward gaming, but the input lag on these TV's are unmatched aswel. Also, these TV's are the first ever to allow Motion Interpolation at a latency of only 21ms, unheard of until this year! Motion Interpolation makes games running at 30fps look like their running at 60fps, RDR2 looks insane on my 75" Q6FN running in native 4K on my One X. Not to mention these Q series TV's support AMD's FreeSync, which monitors framerate on games running above 48fps and keeps the FPS steady without the loss or drops in frames. Pretty crazy features on these Samsung's this year.
P.s. I want to buy this TV but I'm kinda worried about the input lag. I can't find any info on the input lag on my current and very old Philips. But so far if I ever tried to game at friends I noticed their TV's had noticably higher lag (it always felt clunky) ..I didn't even realise that input lag was the issue and they are so casual I doubt they ever put their console on gaming mode. Q8FN is far more expensive.. the Sony really dropped in price recently. The Sony has a better score from most sites / places. But for some fucking reason the sony, SONY .. you know .. the FUCKS who make the PS4.. have double the input lag compared to the Samsung TV's.. ?! WHY?
Very informative. Please help me RTINGS! I had a bad experience with samsung and i just happened to settle with the sony 900f only a week ago! No complaints in the picture quality but UI is god awful and that remote ugh lol, did i mention them speakers? Their a dud big time. I would love it if you could show some footage of how to speed the UI up so i can give this tv one more chance. My tv has crashed twice thus far and has shut itself off. Others reported problems using Sling Tv and i can contest this is a MAJOR issue. I have to sign in daily and normally uninstall/reinstall the app just to get it to work. If im watching netflix and click the apps/home button the system freezes or stalls big time. I was looking at the LG 55sk9000pua very closely. Picture quality isnt as good as the sony or even other tvs in its class but the UI seems to be phenomenal with much better sound. Any thoughts on making the switch while i have time to do so? Is worse picture quality worth the switch for a better daily experience with the UI? Id GREATLY appreciate any feedback. Im a huge fan of your reviews and i research constantly. Im in a pickle and cant decide. Definitely need some professional advice.

The tv is well calibratet you only can t see it trough the camara
I like the calibrations with the Samsung hear they've done a good job getting rid of the funky purple Pixar look but the Sony I am not liking what I'm seeing. when they show the blank screens the Sony looks bluish in the Samsung looks grayish and usually Sony looks grayish and Samsung looks purplish.
The TV's are not in perfect sync when playing the BvS scenes so those brightness numbers may be a bit off when pausing for comparison.
You right
Hahaha. Any excuse to defend Samsung lying about their specs...
So for gaming the Samsung is better for and an xbox as you say, what if like everyone else I am playing on ps4?
Jon Barrett what if the ps5 only supports Dolby vision? That being because Sony TVs do Dolby vision and not hdr10+
great video just a suggestion volume was a bit too low hard to hear you guys.
EyesOpen their 900f settings are horrible. Looks terrible with live color off and color set to 50
@@kstreet7438 👍....how to not take advantage of your expensive tech😅
EyesOpen for real. It's fucking gray with their settings. My 900f looks so much better with live color on. I know it's saturates but that's better then no color at all.
I just purchased the Sony x900f..I don't do much gaming,watch much more movies..in everyone's opinion,,what the best setting to use...thanks!! Joe l
J Lane well most think the cinema mode is the way to go. But I'm not sure what to think about the color temp being warm. Looks brown to me.
I got the Q8FN. I LOVE it!
Mitch McDonald yup same here
Same
How are the black levels? Blooming? Light bleed?
Q8fn is considerably more expensive though.........
Same!
Cedric is back.. I miss the French accent.
Gros Québécois!
There is also a huge difference in the TV's with just overall color temp. What's up with that?
I got x900f yesterday, and wow it's was worth it, so beautiful
Hi! What's the cheapest way to calibrate a TV properly? Which software and sensor?
wow. what a difference the glossy screen with anti glare makes on the Q8. the blacks and details disappeared on the 900F. you could barely even see anything with all those reflections on the 900F. but on the Q8 everything was visible and the blacks actually looked black.
The flip side to that is in a controlled environment it'll be switched
MASKOAA not really. Both tvs are about the same with their dimming.
The skin tones on the Samsung look too red.
Here’s a video of the 900f and q8 in a dark room see how much blooming 900f has ruclips.net/video/LrcEGB00BsA/видео.html
Same on my 65x930e, during the day (not sunny day) I don't feel the high brightness, it feels like a ordinary tv, almost unwatchable, lots of dark details are lost. At night is almost unwatchable because of bright highlights, so.... yeah.

Yeah Samsung and their bs oversaturation 😂
I don't think any other brand other than Samsung will have free sync because of the partnership they have with Microsoft.
I was looking to get the 65 inch version of either of these tvs. Is the Samsung than much better at controlling blooming than the Sony?
Hi guys,i need some help if possible.I have a Samsung Tv and im using color space :native.and really love the way it looks.I also have X900f does this tv have something similar?( i tried live color but it doesnt even come close)
That first question got a terrible answer lol. The answer is : if you plan to use FreeSync that yes otherwise, No! $500 for minuscule differences is not noticeable to most. Think this way if it’s $500 more it needs to be $500 better.
When are we going to see a review for the Vizio P series Quantum? I'm really excited to see the review.
They already have my friend, and it's excellent.
I'd like to see a video review. I read the review on their site yesterday and it's awesome. I'd like to see some video footage of it though. There aren't enough people with the tv yet as I don't see any videos at all on youtube of the quantum.
Annie Rexia after having it for a year I’m now getting the X900F, it’s just an overall better tv experience.
Witch betterscreentowatch movie900forthe900h
you guys realize that the Sony clipping causing higher nits is a BAD thing right? the Q8 being dimmer but showing the detail and color is better. if it lost it's tone mapping it would also measure brighter. the Q8 is capable of matching the highlight nits but in those instances it's correctly mapping .
Ah man i missed it!! How do i find out before you are about to do live session? Thank you!! Awesome comparison video!!
Is it me or Q8FN has better picture here? Maybe iam wrong you cant actually tell from a camera but still.
The english subtitles are hilarious. You should try em on. lol. Kidding aside, great video. I'm still confused wether samsung or sony. Im much of a gamer but basing on the visuals, I like the sony better. But with the interpolation, I think the samsung wins.
if i play a game on ps4 pro who's not on 4k and is 1080p will i get 40ms or will i get 21ms ?
49 900F
How are viewing angles? Seating is a 3 seat couch and single chair, all accross opposite wall. Will that be ok or do I need to find a wider angle TV?
You people realise that you have to turn Live Color On for HDR? For SDR Live Color will just oversaturate colors while its must for HDR since it increase both brightness and color volume.
i'm own the 900f and this setting they use is not the best for sony
they shoud use Cinema Pro mode and reduce contrast to 90 so the picture will not lose any detail and over blow like Custom mode with max Contrast
and in Cinemema Pro HDR mode (Only HDR!) put live color on medium and color will easily match the Q8FN , Even though peak brightness is worse than Q8FN but the Real Scene Brightness is better on 900F
Is there a place that lists all the settings you're using for your 900f?
Please, can you give me setting for Sony XF9005 TV
Sony 900 has auto game mode this isn't a new feature its been in tvs for years.

Is it just the angle you guys are sitting at or is the samsung really that much better with reflections ?
I want to upgrade in size from my 49 inch x900e. I'm hoping for a price drop back to $1500 for the 55 inch Q8f after Christmas. The 900e has a perfectly serviceable picture but it's a bit boring if you ask me. Even the MU8000 had much more vibrant colors (though it was way too dim). If you want to call the Sony more "realistic" you can, but maybe if I want reality I'll stare out the window.
My only worry is dirty screen effect for sports on the Q8f. Is this really a problem?
@James Stephens + higher peakbrightness and 1/3 more dimmingzones
@James Stephens the xf90
@James Stephens read reviews. The 55inch xf version has 48dimmingzones(xe90 has 35) the 65inch version has 60zones and the xe90 45zones. And overall the xf90 is 200nits brighter

Xbr55x900f and apple tv 4k for the win!
Bro you are saying that 480nits is all that q8fn real scene can do? Put the tv in standard mode and you'll get 1500 nits easy
Why would you leave Quantum Dot in for the QLED, but turn off Triluminos on the 900F? Also the noise reduction still helps on a 4K Blu-Ray as not all 4K movies are mastered properly, but to each their own I guess.
Is triluminos off in this vid???
Huh? You can’t turn triluminos off 😂
720p? really?
Hey Cedric is back ¡¡¡
Thank you guys after watching this video and some of your older ones I decided to buy the Q8Fn and wao this tv rocks !! I have the Xbox One S for now and playing Battlefield 1 is just crazy thank you again keep up the good work and Samsung should pay you guys for helping us in buying their Tvs thanks to you guys input.
Pete, did you buy the European version (edg lit) or the American version?
Hmmm maybe Samsung do give them freebies? It seems this test is swayed towards the Samsung as they use totally different settings on each TV for contrast and saturation, making the Samsung look better and the Sony washed out on their HDR example.
Sony gets better results for up-scaling material to 4K, better motion flow, and also having Dolby Vision (better for accurate colour reproduction in movies). So I think I will save £££'s and go with Sony. Just need to avoid using the TV's smart features as they are known to suck and you need to game in 4K as the lag on 1080p is too much!

@@MrPjb135 ... Great TV man, never seen a TV get so close to OLED, I'm jealous!!! lol
Exactly man, over 40ms when using a Switch on the X900F.
Do the Samsungs still dim/brighten the screen based on content? Even when all the ECO settings are off? I know our 2014 Samsung has it and I don't like it.
NO!!! 75" Q6FN owner
Ty
It's even more saturated in native on color bro something seems off with your q8fn for real like wow I have had it up against the x900f and on regular content the whites pop more on the q8fn and everything really does idk what's up with your lol what I dont get is how on warm2 the q8fn is accurate it really isnt where I tested it I had to out it to warm 1 also and if you notice the Sony is cooler so how are they both close to being accurate when one is much warmer then the other I think the comparison would be better with the q8fn on warm1 and that by itself makes bright scenes pop more because the whites are cooler and reds and oranges as we all know idk something seems off
Thanks guys very informative. Both very good TVs.
Review Hisense new 2018 line-up, stop giving them the cold shoulder's. Lots of people buy Hisense and would like to know the detailed specs.
considering the camera you use to capture the video, the youtube then compress, and then the monitor each user is using, kind of silly to try to compare what we are seeing with the actual picture.
In Italy the Q8FN55" is 1200€ and the Sony XF9055" is 1400€. Which do you advise me to take?
q8 in europe is edge lit , not worth the price imo ... I am late aint i .

Which is better for gaming?
