Brightness optimization is needed and works well on my Samsung 77" S90C. That TV is SO bright, you absolutely don't want it to be the same brightness in a dark setting . It's blinding!
If you are gonna recommend RUclips videos for sample video content, gotta also remind people to setup picture quality in RUclips itself. Some are watching 720p on a 4K TV when some videos claim 12K? But you get the point.
Very useful information about the essential settings of the TV. One could use it as a starting point for helping with the essential settings of other brands of TVs too. Thanks for producing it!
My samsung tv is 5+ years old. I don't think it has some of these settings but I'm going to check to see if it has any that might be similar and see if changing them makes any difference. I don't want to mess with the 2 year old samsung tv in the living room, though, because its the family tv and i would probably have to change them back.
Excellent advice. I'm glad this doesn't take an elitist attitude with things like motion smoothing. I have an OLED TV and while I want to have an accurate picture, I have to have a modest amount of motion smoothing enabled otherwise panning shots on 24 FPS content look terrible; a TV is not the same thing as a film projector with a shutter.
These recommendations apply to any modern set, the plug for Samsung is immaterial. Play with the settings, you can't break the thing that way. A simple reset restores factory settings if things go awry!
True in general, but what exactly some of the settings are called, where to find them, and some exact options you have available, might be particular to Samsung - so I assume that's the reason for the "plug." Hopefully most viewers are smart enough to infer that they can find similar settings on other brands, especially since he does refer to TVs in a broader sense - not to mention that he says at the end that they plan on making other vids for other brands.
@@supertrexandroidx That's why I suggest exploring the menu and playing with settings in order to find all the hidden goodies. The only real difference is labelling and layout!
@@OpinionFactChecker Okay, but let them make some videos that will make it easier for people. That's the whole point,. You guys seem to want to make the argument that people don't need them, but some of them obviously do. ;)
@supertrexandroidx Actually, information found in this instruction is rudimentary at best. I tuned my set using a guide from HDTV or another like him that was far more comprehensive. My argument is all UI is basically identical in function and experimentation is recommended.
I have a question if I use the standard picture mode with the contrast enhancer activated set to high, can I adjust the brightness and contrast to a level that is not so bright for my eyes? But with the contrast enhancer on high so that the image still looks very striking, there wouldn't be any problem, right? 😭
Howdy I have a "problem" with the TV, at least I think so. Because when I start a game on the PS5, the picture goes black for a moment. When I close the game, it goes black for a moment. If you have any solutions for this, I would be pleased. My TV: Samsung s90d 65 inches
By default most of the Samsung TV have the dinámica mode as the standard image mode but the right Choice its Movie mode / filmaker but need to be calibrated 📺🎨
Maybe you would like to add another top secret, informative video about how can we turn on/off the TV, up/down the volume, secret ways of puling the plug, how to secretly hold the remote!
Dumb question but if I have an Apple TV setup wouldn’t these settings be across the board for all apps because it’s just on one HDMI? Still learning all this but I know each app would have minor differences
Samsung qn95b has annoying remote detection issues. You must point directly at the bottom right corner of the tv, or it will not sense the command from the remote. Any suggestions?
I bought a used one that must be older because the remote doesn’t have the same features and neither do the menu options. The brights look good but I’m watching “The Piano Lesson” on Netflix and it looks horrible. Fortunately, this is a secondary TV so I’m not sweating it too much.
Digital Trends, great content! Can you help me with using wireless headphones with Samsung tv's? I can connect my Bose QC and Sony WH-1000xm4's, but after a couple of minutes there is some sort of distortion that makes listening impossible. Any ideas? Thank you!
My hearing aids are almost impossible to connect and listen with the normal speakers on at the same time. Also once I get them connected they go on and off if I turn my head a little. (not all the time) If I get up and walk around they are ok even in other rooms.
I'm so happy the TV reviewers stopped pushing that terrible "move mode" and changed to a recommendation as their tastes. There are many people like myself that cannot stand warm color temperatures. Good job!
Your eyes are broken if D65 doesn’t look correct… idk how the world looks to you then. Guess blue like Smurfville? Most people once they see a proper D65 white point will never go back. So I find what you say as completely unfactual. As someone who used to have a mindset like this…. Back when I was just a young pup, and before I learned to understand the tech and standards… most importantly actually witnessed and learned to know what true reference level is…. It not overly yellow like people claim. D65 isn’t even technically a warm color temp….. its on the cooler side, but our eyes considered it a neutral white point, which should have almost no bias towards a hue… So sorry to say, your eyes are playing a trick on you, or your tv is know where near D65 with its factory white point calibration.
@ye-rochawkins5432 Oh no, here comes one of those toxic people who thinks they know better people on experience. It can't possibly be that people's eyes are different or that some have different tastes than others.
What if I love vivid mode and every other picture setting to me does not look as bright !? Do I force myself to watch in another mode!? Cause other modes seem to dark
I get why cuz it was less bright and clear and too warm that it leaned green hue?? Natural mode looks so much better, digital clarity is auto and eco mode off.
I have QN90C connected to a Yamaha YHT-5960U AVR .. facing sound drops through the RUclips app .. the issue is non existent with other apps .. anyone else having the same issue ? Any solution?
i dont care what anyone says standard is the best setting and you can then tweek it to how you want. but the gameing mode is worth useing if you are gameing. even the so called exprest mode is not as good and loses a lot of brighnes, contrast etc. basicly you want as little interference with the picture as possable.
Fantastic breakdown Chris. We need you on the show more alongside Caleb
Just moved and unboxed my S90D. Great timing!

All TVs should ship in FILMMAKER MODE by default. The average person doesn’t change it, and they should be seeing the image the CORRECT way!!!
Any plans for Sonos Arc Ultra review any time soon?

Yes
Samsung S90C and TCL QM8 both priced the same.
Which one are you taking home?
Sammy
Sammy all day!!!
LG next pls🤝🤝🤝
They're all the same nowadays!
is that TV already running Tizen 8 with the OneUI Skin? looks slightly different from mine

How do you turn off automatic brightness limiter on Samsung? When I’m playing ps5 HDR game, certain moments while I’m playing the screen dims
Same problem
I have always kept it in adaptive since day one, but with the latest update, the image seems blurry and very clear, what should I change? thanks
Turn off picture clarity on your tv
How do you turn off or adjust the timer for auto-shut off? I have the Samsung QN 90-B
Should be in the General Settings Menu.

do this for bravia 8
My Samsung must be too old as I do not have these settings ....
Ok, Thanks! But I don’t have a Samsung.
K
Sony next?
Since I updated my q80c to one UI i can't go back in the service menu what happened?
Some TVs are locked down like Fire TV. They let you do some settings but not as much as you could back in the dumb TV days.
For LG please

LG next plz 🤝🤝

Turn it off
So that’s what I done wrong for all this years I did not turn on the tv 🙈
