Excellent advice. I'm glad this doesn't take an elitist attitude with things like motion smoothing. I have an OLED TV and while I want to have an accurate picture, I have to have a modest amount of motion smoothing enabled otherwise panning shots on 24 FPS content look terrible; a TV is not the same thing as a film projector with a shutter.

This is a very basic but yet good guide. The advantage is that it's applicable to all Samsung displays with the same or similar menus. The disadvantage is less tailor made settings for your particular model. I do enjoy the easy and simplified format of this video vs. other more in depth videos for specific models.
I end up turning on Intelligent Mode and set to Optimize on my QN90D. I got tired of changing picture settings every time I switch content/streaming services. So far, the Intelligent Mode has been excellent at 'standardize' brightness and tone from different sources, and everything looks at least good enough.
Hi! Just unboxed my s90d. The first thing I noticed was something called ”color banding”. I have done some research and i dont know how to fix this. It happens very often when playing games or watching movies and other content. Should I return or try to fix this by adjusting the settings?
These recommendations apply to any modern set, the plug for Samsung is immaterial. Play with the settings, you can't break the thing that way. A simple reset restores factory settings if things go awry!
True in general, but what exactly some of the settings are called, where to find them, and some exact options you have available, might be particular to Samsung - so I assume that's the reason for the "plug." Hopefully most viewers are smart enough to infer that they can find similar settings on other brands, especially since he does refer to TVs in a broader sense - not to mention that he says at the end that they plan on making other vids for other brands.

I bought a new samsung 75inch TV and having some problems. Do i need to connect main hdmi to TV to andriod box and another hdmi ARC from TV to AV amplifier ? do they need to be high speed hdmi cables ? Also if i put the settings on the andriod box to auto picture control it does not automatically go into HDR mode and after it does that the colours are all saturated and wont go back to normal when i exit HDR mode, so to avoid this a change the setting to SDR mode. But with the contrast enhancer on high so that the image still looks very striking, there wouldn't be any problem, right? 😭
My samsung tv is 5+ years old. I don't think it has some of these settings but I'm going to check to see if it has any that might be similar and see if changing them makes any difference. This is totally subjective. You recommend filmmaker and similar blurry muddy settings. When we selected that everyone in the room here audibly said how terrible the picture is in those modes. What’s the point of a mega clear screen if you just desaturate away all the color and make it all smoky blurry. Poor taste.
You seem to not understand filmmaker mode. Its not the most beautiful mode. Its the way the director intended you to watch a movie in order to transmit certain feelings or emotions. If you just want eyecandy, then go for Standard or Dynamic. Modes like Movie or Filmmaker are for purists that are obsessed with absorbing the true effect that the director wanted to trasmit.
By default most of the Samsung TV have the dinámica mode as the standard image mode but the right Choice its Movie mode / filmaker but need to be calibrated 📺🎨
Samsung qn95b has annoying remote detection issues. You must point directly at the bottom right corner of the tv, or it will not sense the command from the remote. Any suggestions?
