I just managed to snag a Samsung S90c on clearance for £799 (in the UK). Incredible price for an incredible TV, even coming from the Hisense U7K I had.
As an average consumer that just uses my eyes and not using measurements or other people’s opinion, I purchased a Samsung Q80D I would say that is an excellent midrange TV. I bought the U7N and took it straight back to the store for the Samsung and couldn’t be happier.
@@Tidbitkid For gaming, the S90D is even superior to the G4, due to the range and volume of colors due to the QD-OLED panel compared to LG's WOLED panel. I have a pair of LG B9 OLEDs, the 65in for the living room and the 55In for the gaming TV in the office. The 65in maybe has 200hrs on it (if that) . There is a couple of dead black spots in the corners one big one about 3mm. The 55in has tons of dead pixels on the bottom 1/2 in of the screen. That obe has at least 1k hrs And yes I have to windows toolbar hidden. Luckily none of them have dead pixels where you look. This will 100% happen. I'm telling you guys this after like 5 years. If you can live with dead pixels in the edges and corners. Go for it. I doubt the technology on the panels has gotten that much better. 0 burn in though on both so that's a plus. I dont have regrets buying them. I just wanna be real with my OLED experience. Great gaming/ movie TVs.
The LG C SERIES one through four are budget-friendly and have amazing pictures. I had a 55” C1 and just purchased a 55” C4. Both TVs are incredible!! LG is the only screen that does Dolby Vision for the Series X properly, in my opinion.
Not really, no. It lacks the more vibrant colors that its bigger sizes have due to the lack of quantum dots, plus it still lacks Dolby vision and has less capable low res upscaling (refer to their website’s review). Dollar for dollar the C4 would be better in the 42 and 48in sizes, but the b4 would also be a great deal as well in the 48 since I’ve seen it regularly dip down to $700 or less at some retailers
at that price point get a c3 and c4 they offerr better value. Dolby Vision is very subjective. I am not really the biggest fan, I have an LG c3 and Dolby vision isn't impresive to me but I don't watch Dolby Vision Blu ray.
You definite dont want a B4 for gaming, especially on a PC, either C4 or S90D yuo can't go wrong. I have a 42" C2 for my PC and love it. Plus LG gives better settings for costumizing.
Samsung's achilles heel is that none of their tvs support dts (x) and most of their soundbars do.🤦🏻♂️ Forget Dolby vision but without the QD in that size I'd go with the C4.
Just got my 77in S90D in tonight and I'll say with all sincerity this is the best tv I have ever owned. LCD brightness with the colors, deep blacks and beautiful contrast that you can only really get from an oled. Im coming from a LG C1, LG C9 and I often heard about the color loss when using game mode but I've never had anything to compare it to until now. The colors stay vibrant and pop even in game mode with this tv. Im gonna buy another one early next year for the living room. If you're in the market for a new display, do yourself a favor and buy this tv. P.S. movies are great on this set too. I watched avatar and the crow (94) both on 4K and each were incredible.

You look at the top end and the bottom end and the middle is in between, so yes by definition I'd say it's mid range. Of course we all want a g4 at $400 but that's not reasonable or practicle
Get the TCL QM7. The b4 isn’t midrange in any way it’s still a high end tv priced a couple hundred cheaper than the c4. QM7 is a real midrange option. Even the QM8 is cheaper than the LG B4

I'd recommend the QM7 over the U7N for best lower mid-range TV. TCL reliability is better than Hisense, as well as the Hisense exhibiting red smearing in gaming.
I bought a Samsung QN90A a few years ago. Great features! It was a 50 inch 4k gaming tv with HDR10+ VRR ALLM 120Hz FPS refresh rate 3ms response time input lag and is SUPER BRIGHT. I HATE the UI/OS though... -_-
I would get with the bravia 9 for mini led. That said I think the reason the Bravia8 oled is not as bright because thats not optimal viewing unless youre always in a bright room. I would bet it also outlasts other brighter oleds as that was all considered in build quality. I have an 12+ year old 50inch 1080p bravia. And it still looks fantastic even with some older 720p TV shows and movies that more modern tvs struggle with. Most stuff you stream or download will be 1080p upscaled anyway. It possible to get 4k copies of everything but you pay a premium.
I prefer the QM7 over the Hisense TV's for gaming. I tried the Hisense U8K last year and the dark smear in PC games was terrible. I returned it after a couple days. I currently have the TCL QM7 and it's much better in terms of its dark color response time in games.
In my region they all cost more or less with 200 euro difference. Which one would be the best for x box or to use as a monitor for Pc? Are all those Oleds so fast with quick response time input lag in online gaming pvp competetive that it won't make an difference which one i buy?
Haha no the G4 is definitely not too old, it's one of the best TVs on the market! It has very impressive brightness capabilities for an OLED model, however it's very expensive, so unless you really want that extra brightness, most people are better off saving some money and going with other options like we've listed here, like the B4 or even C4.
Bought an open box sale 55" LG C4 for $1600CAD, and love it - coming from a discontinued plasma tv that double featured as a space heater. However, this open box came with an MR19 remote; the previous owner must have switched before returning, as it had no more than 5 hours of run time upon my setting up! Deal or no deal?
Glad your happy but ipen box oled is scary. Because oleds need to be cared for most and you never know if they just left it on 24/7 with whatever image on the store wall.
Apprrciate these videos. Although it's probably not happening till Summer i'm planning on upgrading to my first Oled and i do game a lot. So far it looks like the Samsung S90D will be it.
Ah you can with poorer build quality and no Dolby Vision and worse image retention reduction implementation compared to tried and true LG or even a Panasonic which will have some reviews coming shortly from most RUclips reviewers.
@@Tidbitkid I've heard good things about the Samsung but like I said my purchase probably won't be until Summer 2025. That's still plenty of time for new reviews, new TVs and price changes to change my mind.
I'm surprised TCL Q7 wasn't on the list. Yeah it's more expensive than the u6n, but still much better than the u6n (As someone who's leaning more. to the u6n).
You could opt for the U8N as a replacement for the BRAVIA 9, but the Sony is the better TV overall due to its wider viewing angle, more functional VRR feature, better accuracy, and better contrast. We chose the U7N as our Best Lower Mid-Range Gaming TV simply because the value is too good for its price as it's even cheaper than the U8
I've always used LG screens in my house, bought a Hisense about two years ago and it died just passing the 2 year warranty. The LG ones are still going, some even for about 12 years without any issues
What model is your LG? Is that 2011 or 2012 model? Is it LED? :):) 😊 Also What Hisene did u get tho? They have the --Hisense ROKU tv which is the low end LED . Direct LED they sell at Walmart. Then they have the ULED which his like premium LEDs.
Because 2010-later 2011 maybe 2012 Global LEDs---100% produced by SHARP TV. So I am kinda curious now what Model/ year is your LG. Cuz by the tv stand n frame if u have high end LG it would be very telling. Espcially those glossy glass screen n TV stand . But depends what tier it is.
@ Monitors are very dim, they are meant to be dim n last long time tho. Yeah if u. Have a 2012 LED from LG its Most likely made by SHARP tv. 2010-2011 n Some of the 2012 --Global LEDs were all made by SHARP TV. Depends what tier u got the entry would be SHARP TV, the premium LEDS (SONY Bravia 2010-2012) were Sharp Aquos premium. Hisense bought SHARP TV in 2014. I have 2 Hisense U8 thats 3-4 yr old tho. They are alays on n they just wont die :)
@Yoga_Tv_buying maybe I've got the bad one but my sister in law has the same one and it failed about the one year mark (same issue) The same seems to be the memory module that makes the screen reboot or shut down randomly
I had the LG CX 48. My mom has it now. I Bought from Best Buy the 65 S90D for $1,499.99 which is $100 more than what I paíd for my CX. The S90D is just so much colorfull & vibrant. Can wait to use it for my PS5 PRO!
Got a brand new s90c gen2 panel for 940€ last week and did the anapeak mod all the way to max, disabled abl and it's now mind boggling good in both hdr and sdr. Ridiculously good PQ goes all the way up to 2000 nits in hdr and the full screen brightness while dim on other oleds is now IPS lcd levels of bright while having better color vibrancy.
Could you help me compare my Samsung QN90A with a better TV so I can decide on getting a better one? I just wonder if there's a better model I should consider but need help with the research
Great and informative video. Since I am treating myself with a new TV this black friday and need it primarily for gaming on PS5/PS5 Pro, I'm gonna get the 65" S90D. Thanks for making my decision easier. Before I started to dig into it I was aiming for an LG C series as for years I've been listening praises about how LG OLED is a must for a fantastic gaming living room experience. Glad to see they have stiff competition. For the past 10+ years I've been owning only Samsung TVs so it's gonna be a natural continuation. Never owned an OLED nor dedicated gaming TV though so I'm looking forward to it very much.
Gigabyte FO27Q2 is often on sale for $599. It uses a Samsung Display QD-OLED 27" 1440p 240Hz VRR panel with speakers. One of the best especially for the price.
Still have my LG CX 65 inch TV and love it. Got it when the new consoles were dropping and it has vrr my series X takes full advantage of. Best $2500 I've spent!
With the advanced upscalers like the RetroTINK 5x-Pro, RetroTINK 4K and MiSTer FPGA's upscaler, all of them can use a VRR flag to avoid time corrections and skips. Most analog era consoles are 60.8Hz or 59.3Hz some arcade boards are 55Hz, these need time compensations, causing skips to adapt to 59.94Hz or 60Hz. So... you do want a VRR compatible display for your SNES
Having just bingewatched a dozen videos on RTINGS before deciding to place a preorder on the Hisense U7N.... Im so glad it showed up on this list 😅 55" for 599€. Probably best value for most features and big "enough" screen.
What is the best 42-inch OLED gaming tv? LG C4 42 inch, Samsung S90D 42 inch, or Sony A90k 42 inch. Someone, please help! I can not find any information on which one is the bedt at that size. Money is not a problem.
The LG G4 OLED is one of the best TVs on the market and has very impressive brightness capabilities for an OLED model. However, it's very expensive, so unless you really want that extra brightness, we believe most people are better off saving some money and going with the LG C4!
The big question: does that Samsung 90D still have broken VRR? Nearly *all* of their TV's from a few years back were awesome, until you enabled VRR. Suddenly the entire gamma and color settings of the TVs would flip upside down and there was absolutely *no* way to correct it. I got burned bad by that on my Q90T, only to have Samsung and the stores go ''uhhhhhh... I don't know.'' If they managed to fix that, that'd be good.
But it also has trade offs compared to OLED ie True Blacks down to the SubPixel light control among other things. Panasonic is also going to give Sony a run for the same money so probably irrelevant in most things it does well for the money and quality.
I would look at the samsumg 8k mini qled or the Bravia 9 for top of the pile. HISENSE UN 7 OR 8 AND TCL QM7 OR 8 for midrange. There really isnt a low range or anything worth looking at lower than '7' versions above. *i think lg has a mini but not worth looking at over the above either.
If you want a good deal look at the Vizio MQX series. Depending on the size you can get a 50 inch tv with 4K at 120hz, 240 at 1080p and it comes with Dolby Vision. Not to mention FreeSync, HDR10+, game mode and VRR. All for about $450 (atm). Not even sure why the Roku tv is here judging that it costs the same without all the features. I'm actually thinking about getting it for my wife during the black friday deals because she definitely needs a new gaming tv.
If you can talk a sale for a G4 you'll get years more of included warranty compared to the C4. Most stores that have sales people are often able to make authorized deals that are sometimes lower than the best Black Friday deals.
Omg absolutely S90C, brighter and 3-4X color Density of C4. C4 is SEVERLY Blue casted and very moody blue dim , also pestle. S90C is slightly blue but tis Such rich in ALL color volume they are still VERY pleasant to have . They do nurf your tv tho with updates, even if its turned off. U have to NOT connect to WIFI ever . Need to have external streaming device. 😊
Samsung is reported to having an issue selling high end panels especially the highest in their lineup. So most likely have an ever cheaper price going into next year.
I bought a U6N. It can not always keep up with the movement & lighting on my gaming PC. When still, it's gorgeous. But with Spiderman Remastered in motion it's toilet water
Omg TCL 6 series for sure! I believe the Samsung AU series are --Direct LED. The TCL 6 series or Hisense like EU Model ( E7K , E7N , E7N-PRO) thoes full Aray local dimming. Much better blooming control better contrast.
Waiting for black Friday and cyber Monday the 65 inch for 500 is on my top 3 list mostly due to price and size also 1000 is not mid range please try to include more tvs in the 400 to 900 range
I can only do 32-43" on my desk. I was going to get a u7n but it's only 55"+. I could do a c4 smallest size but I really didn't want an OLED. Even though they claim burn in prevention has come a long way.. I usually leave things on and open on one thing for a while.. QN90D it is?.. just want something that supports 4k@120/144hz, full array local dimming.. all the ps5 pro stuff

I prefer the QM7 over the Hisense TV's for gaming. I tried the Hisense U8K last year and the dark smear in PC games was terrible. I returned it after a couple days. I currently have the TCL QM7 and it's much better in terms of its dark color response time in games.
Just ordered a 65 inch B4 for my ps5 pro ❤ Time for the old lady (B7) to be a bedroom tv lol. Thanks Rtings keep up the good job 👏🏻
Thank you! Hope you enjoy it 😄
You'll absolutely love your B4. Still rocking my B2, and blown away every time I game or watch movies!
I just got the 55” B4 last week and I’m in love 😍 it’s also my first OLED tv so I’m blown away by the quality
Isn't the QM7 better than the U7N for gaming?
Hisense is garbage
@@damontroch4765nah it’s not
I've heard the black smearing is insane on the U7N
@damontroch4765 lol no it's not... I have 3 different Hisense TV's two 100 inch and a 75 inch and they are all fantastic!
If you have an XBox, want Dolby Vision and QD-OLED, and money is no object, consider the Sony A95L!
In my region they all cost more or less with 200 euro difference. Which one would be the best for x box or to use as a monitor for Pc? Are all those Oleds so fast with quick response time input lag in online gaming pvp competetive that it won't make an difference which one i buy?
Totally forgot about TCLs... C805K or C841K are absolute steals right now
Yep. TCL is still weeping for no one buying their TVs due to high prices
Uhm if anyone can help. Sorry for this newbie question, is it ok to use OLED TVs for gaming ? will the OLED screen burn in eventually ?
Will you guys review the Panasonic w95a?
RTINGS is a GREAT source!
Thanks for this breakdown.
Why isn’t the G4 a worthy contender? Is it too old?
Can’t go wrong with the S90 IMO.
@@Tidbitkid LG Cope is real…
Hello, a question, does the rescaling processing of televisions graphically help the Nex Gen consoles to see themselves with ?? higher resolution?
Babe! Grab the popcorn , Abby and Rtings dropped a video!!!
I'm surprised TCL Q7 wasn't on the list. Yeah it's more expensive than the u6n, but still much better than the u6n (As someone who's leaning more. to the u6n).
Rtings are very biased towards Hisense compared to TCL..
if im just going to use the tv for gaming should I go with the TLC qm7- qm8 or the u7n-u8n?
I have a question with Samsung so if I get a 48 inch what does she mean whole ??? Im confused with 55 is a pure oled screen
Color accuracy in game mode on the TVs?
Quick qu: why go with the Hisense U7N over the U8?
You could opt for the U8N as a replacement for the BRAVIA 9, but the Sony is the better TV overall due to its wider viewing angle, more functional VRR feature, better accuracy, and better contrast. We chose the U7N as our Best Lower Mid-Range Gaming TV simply because the value is too good for its price as it's even cheaper than the U8
Does the lack of Dolby Vision matter that much for Xbox gaming in S90D?
Can we get the roku series tv in Canada?
I've always used LG screens in my house, bought a Hisense about two years ago and it died just passing the 2 year warranty. The LG ones are still going, some even for about 12 years without any issues
What model is your LG? Is that 2011 or 2012 model? Is it LED? :):) 😊
Also What Hisene did u get tho? They have the --Hisense ROKU tv which is the low end LED . Direct LED they sell at Walmart. Then they have the ULED which his like premium LEDs.
Because 2010-later 2011 maybe 2012 Global LEDs---100% produced by SHARP TV. So I am kinda curious now what Model/ year is your LG. Cuz by the tv stand n frame if u have high end LG it would be very telling. Espcially those glossy glass screen n TV stand . But depends what tier it is.
@Yoga_Tv_buying mine are low tier monitors and a 32" TV from 2012
One monitor is even from 2010
@ Monitors are very dim, they are meant to be dim n last long time tho.
@Yoga_Tv_buying maybe I've got the bad one but my sister in law has the same one and it failed about the one year mark (same issue)
The same seems to be the memory module that makes the screen reboot or shut down randomly
S90d 48" or C4 48"? 🤔 I have the LG CX and I want to upgrade it for the PS5 PRO.
55inch S90 with QD.
I had the LG CX 48. My mom has it now. I Bought from Best Buy the
65 S90D for $1,499.99 which is $100 more than what I paíd for my CX. The S90D is just so much colorfull & vibrant. Can wait to use it for my PS5 PRO!
For 48in, C4 is a better pick.
I have the LG c1 works great
TCL C765 not good for gaming?
the S90D is on a Black Friday sale in many places for ~$1399. Just picked one up from Costco a few days ago.
Could you help me compare my Samsung QN90A with a better TV so I can decide on getting a better one? I just wonder if there's a better model I should consider but need help with the research
Only top level OLED will beat it
83b4 is 2499. Insane deal.
The s90d truly is special tv
2:46 there is a eu model thats 55 and a woled so this part is incorrect.
Wonder why after all this time rtings has not reviewed a single woled version of this tv.
For gaming. Go OLED. It's just on a whole other level of how the games look. Can't get that with led
What is the best OLED monitor for gaming?
Gigabyte FO27Q2 is often on sale for $599. It uses a Samsung Display QD-OLED 27" 1440p 240Hz VRR panel with speakers. One of the best especially for the price.
Still have my LG CX 65 inch TV and love it. Got it when the new consoles were dropping and it has vrr my series X takes full advantage of. Best $2500 I've spent!
Bravia 9 &ps5 pro🎉🎉🎉❤❤
C4 or s90d??? For movies and gaming..
LG B4 is the best I think? Consider the price
Agreed just bought my 48 in model as bedroom tv my c2 is in the living room and still kicking
@@matthewmontgomery7764 what is the life expectancy for these tvs?
What's the life expectancy for these tvs
Having just bingewatched a dozen videos on RTINGS before deciding to place a preorder on the Hisense U7N.... Im so glad it showed up on this list 😅 55" for 599€. Probably best value for most features and big "enough" screen.
What is the best 42-inch OLED gaming tv? LG C4 42 inch, Samsung S90D 42 inch, or Sony A90k 42 inch. Someone, please help! I can not find any information on which one is the bedt at that size. Money is not a problem.
Lg but I like Sony cause of Google built in and it's super fast. Faster than my phone at times I think. And I have the older x model
If price is not an issue g4 all the way
What about the LG g4?
The LG G4 OLED is one of the best TVs on the market and has very impressive brightness capabilities for an OLED model. However, it's very expensive, so unless you really want that extra brightness, we believe most people are better off saving some money and going with the LG C4!
What about the samsung s95d vs the s90d?
And Sony a95l?
The big question: does that Samsung 90D still have broken VRR? Nearly *all* of their TV's from a few years back were awesome, until you enabled VRR. Suddenly the entire gamma and color settings of the TVs would flip upside down and there was absolutely *no* way to correct it. I got burned bad by that on my Q90T, only to have Samsung and the stores go ''uhhhhhh... I don't know.'' If they managed to fix that, that'd be good.
The Bravia 9 is a light cannon for gaming. The best part is no burn-in risk AND the screen doesn't dim over time. It looks absolutely brilliant!
But it also has trade offs compared to OLED ie True Blacks down to the SubPixel light control among other things. Panasonic is also going to give Sony a run for the same money so probably irrelevant in most things it does well for the money and quality.
@@Tidbitkid Also the price for the Bravia 9 is unjustified for a Mini LED. MIni LED's on average are MUCH LESS expensive to build...
Thank a lot …. Realy need this😢
I'd love it if you could make a QN, QLED, Mini LED etc roundup! I don't want OLED TVs and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Cheers!
I would look at the samsumg 8k mini qled or the Bravia 9 for top of the pile.
HISENSE UN 7 OR 8 AND TCL QM7 OR 8 for midrange.
There really isnt a low range or anything worth looking at lower than '7' versions above.
*i think lg has a mini but not worth looking at over the above either.
it always gets interesting at $1000 or less, what do you keep what do you sacrifice
Show us the UI of these TVs and give us a walkthrough of the settings menus and everything. That's majorly important to me personally.
U want Google and Sony is the king here
I own the S90d Woled & i think the display is outstanding, particularly for game mode
I'm looking to purchase my first oled tv. I’ve been eyeing the 65” LG C4 for Black Friday sale.
If you can talk a sale for a G4 you'll get years more of included warranty compared to the C4. Most stores that have sales people are often able to make authorized deals that are sometimes lower than the best Black Friday deals.
@@Tidbitkid thanks for the tip. I’ll keep an eye out on the G4.
Can’t decide between s90c samsung 65 or lg c4 65. What is good for gaming and movies
the s95D is on sale for $1,800 right now but for how long?
Samsung is reported to having an issue selling high end panels especially the highest in their lineup. So most likely have an ever cheaper price going into next year.
I bought a U6N.
It can not always keep up with the movement & lighting on my gaming PC. When still, it's gorgeous. But with Spiderman Remastered in motion it's toilet water
Sony Bravia B9 for the win 🏆
Hey guys, what is better TCL QLED tv 65C643 or SAMSUNG 55" AU8072? TY
Omg TCL 6 series for sure! I believe the Samsung AU series are --Direct LED. The TCL 6 series or Hisense like EU Model ( E7K , E7N , E7N-PRO) thoes full Aray local dimming. Much better blooming control better contrast.
Um... G4?!?? How tf is that not in the top 2? Rtings is really going downhill.
I'd put my 77 inch Samsung S89C QD-OLED up against ANY other TV on the market in GAME MODE!
Agreed. Got the same TV and it’s a beast.
Bravia 8 dropped the ball really hard. The input latency outside game mode is so high. I like playing games with motion flow/trumotion
Waiting for black Friday and cyber Monday the 65 inch for 500 is on my top 3 list mostly due to price and size also 1000 is not mid range please try to include more tvs in the 400 to 900 range
some lucky ppl were able to get the s90c 65" at Costco for $999.97 on clearance recently.
CRT still does things better than today's TVs with all their VRR, 144hz, etc..
