You know what's tiring? repeating false narratives. Lamar Jackson didn't flame out in the 2019 playoffs Greg Roman *failed to change his call-signs* from a game that they played against the Chargers two weeks prior! & you should _know this because _*_the Chargers TOLD EVERYONE THAT THEY KNEW_* what plays were coming as they were called because of it. Greg Roman threw the damned game intentionally or not & Lamar _still_ managed to score 17 points against a defense that knew every play in advance. Great season, and the fact that Luckman still held the Bears team volume passing records through the 2000’s is a testament to how much they run, and how little success they’ve seen at that position since him.
I can just imagine Barry's smile when he opens the Wikipedia page of some random player and his eyes detect the "controversy" section. His ability to point out the fact that many of these guys are not great people is journalistic integrity at its finest.
Unbelievable work ethic from Barry these days. Such a deceptively athletic, cerebral RUclipsr, truly the kind of man you'd want to be married to your son's girlfriend.
Yo! I’ll tel you what happened to David Gerrard. So, he got traded to Miami in 2010. He tore his ACLd literally from twisting in a spinny chair to grab something, and promptly retired that year. It was the same year Chad Johnson got traded there and Headbutted his Girlfriend. It’s the the Dolphins Hard Knocks season. Check it out
2011 Eli Manning is severely underrated. There's a common belief that Eli was carried by his defense and while that's somewhat debatable for 2007 (15th ranked offense, 17th ranked defense) it's absolutely not up for debate in 2011. By almost every metric the 2011 Giants were a worse team than the 2007 team. In 2011 the New York Giants had the 9th ranked offense while having the 32nd ranked rushing offense. They were a top ten offense with the worst run game in the league. Eli Manning led the 5th overall passing offense in the league. Their defense was the 25th ranked in the league - right in the bottom quarter. There were three great pass rushers in Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, and JPP, followed by eight guys when wouldn't be a starter in half of the league. Our defense was so stripped for talent that halfway through the season the team signed Chase Blackburn, a career backup linebacker and special teamer for the Giants who retired the year prior and was a teacher when the season began. He wasn't signed to be a backup either like he had always been, he was signed to be a starter. I like the guy but that's scraping the bottom of the barrel and really tells you how this defense was doing. The run game was so bad the offense could never burn clock effectively and the defense couldn't stop a nosebleed. This led Eli Manning to lead the league in 4th quarter comebacks - six. Six comebacks that *stuck* that is, as multiple times the defense failed to hold out after an Eli go-ahead TD with less than two minutes left. Without Eli this team would've had about four wins but they won the Super Bowl. I'd be remiss to not mention that the 2011 NFC Championship game is Eli's signature game. He played with the flu and got an absolute beating. It was a hell of a rough time for him even by the standards of the 1980s' NFL. 6 sacks, 12 QB hits (usually by two or three players), and still went 32/58 for 300+ yards, 2 TDs, and no turnovers against the best defense in the league that season in the mud. He was a smooth operator that night.
Even with the SB16 loss, I still think Ken Anderson should be in the Hall of Fame. Also, crazy how the Bengals have made 3 Super Bowls, and lost by 5 points, then 4, and then 3.
Because of this video, my wife’s boyfriend was in a great mood today and allowed me to take the kids to dinner all by myself so they could stay home for the night. Thank you Barry 🥰
As a panther fan I knew it would be 2015 Cam but I’m so happy you gave credit to Jake Delhomme. 2003 was a crazy season for my cardiac cats and Jake deserves more recognition for it!
Great video. 49ers fan here, and I was waiting, wondering, and hoping it would come down to Montana '89 and Young '94, and you described my feelings on the entire situation perfectly.
Bears may not have an amazing Qb history but Sid Luckman still to this day holds the record for highest TD percentage all time among qb's and set the single game passing td record with 7 that has stood for almost 80 years
For the Packers I'm inclined to say 1995 or 1996 Favre (especially considering the WR corps Favre had at the end of 96) but it's hard not to say 11. One of the greatest seasons ever.
@@fortynights1513 Rodgers 2011 had Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Driver, Cobb, and Finley. 17:30 let’s be fair here I just thought of many examples of many league, best offenses and historic drop duds in the Super Bowl. Chiefs in 2021, Rams, 2018, panthers, 2015, Denver, 2013.
2009 Michael Vick gets overlooked a lot for an Eagles pick, he was unreal. But they did lose in the NFC Championship game. Plus 2017 Carson Wentz would've prob won it if he didn't get injured late in the year. The Eagles have some very interesting quarterback years. I forgot about Foles great year in 2013.
Wentz would’ve taken it if he finished the season and won the Super Bowl, considering what ended up happening was that 04 McNabb did have an all around better year than Wentz did in 17.
Thank you Barry for the 2007 props. My wife's boyfriend is a Patriots fan and he is better than me at everything ( my wife told me), but this is the only thing I have in my favor.
I can understand 2009 being Brees' best year since you're talking about team success as well, but I'd still argue that 2011 was even better. That was an all time great offense that despite the postseason results put up absolutely ridiculous numbers
this is probably a super hot take but as an Eagles fan i think it’s 2017/2018 Wentz. i’m not gonna say Foles wouldn’t have taken us to the SB as a starter but Wentz going 11-1 definitely helped with that. he was an absolute monster (ofc with his weird times forcing the ball in bad places but disregard that) and if he wasn’t injured i think he was a clear cut MVP. but McNabb 04 is also a great pick so
NFL was much more popular Greatest game was played in 58? NBA was maybe 10yrs old at that time, Baseball was king too Nba finals games were shown later until Magic/Bird era
Namath didnt have the Best QB Season for the Jets....Chad Pennington did in 2002. Took a 2-5 Team to 10-6 while looking unbeatable. DESTROYED the Colts 44-0 before losing a close game to the eventual AFC Champion Raiders.
1976 Stabler also completed 66.7% of his passes in a league that completed only 52.2% In the AFC title game, Stabler was knocked out after the first offensive drive of the 2nd half. Mike Rae replaced Snake and carried Oakland to the win without attempting a single pass.
It's understandable, but unfortunately bc the Oilers don't exist, Warren Moon's skills aren't highlighted here... just imagine if he'd been under center for the '98 Vikings season
They do exist, they just became the Titans in the '90s. Moon was pretty damn good though, I think it's tight between some of his best years and 2003 McNair.
As a Bills fan, thank you for not coping out and going for an Allen season. Based on your criteria of including team success and accounting for era, Kelly was the right choice.
@18:00 as a saints fan it's 2011. Drew Brees was at his peak then still had full arm strength, and was an absolute master pre snap, we had the best offense in the league and it was cuz of drew. He broke the Marino record
For the actual Browns it's probably 2020 Baker Mayfield, on account of him leading the squad to its only playoff win since being [re-]established and having a pretty good regular season to boot, though not as good as his rookie campaign. It would be hard to leave a guy like Graham off the list though, because his numbers were otherworldly even once the old Browns joined the NFL.
There's no mention, for the Lions, of a singular Bobby Layne season while he was on the Lions. His best title winning year was 1952, his first title, with 16 passing TDs (17 TDs overall) and 1999 passing yards (2110 total yards).
Along with how they traded him He jinxed the team claiming they wouldnt win anything for the next 50 years.. something has to be said about that, notice how abysmal QBs have been for the team since then.. I remember Kramer Peete being okay, mitchell had flash in pan seasons.. Stafford is the best I have seen in my 40+ years watching
good list! only thing i would change would be your pick for the jaguars. I'd go with one of the years mark brunnel led them to the AFC championship game.
I would have picked Jalen Hurts over McNabb because Hurts arguably played the best that a Super Bowl losing QB has ever played, while McNabb had 3 INTs. In my opinion their regular season stats are similar enough where the Super Bowl numbers become the deciding factor. Hurts had more total touchdowns and fewer interceptions, but McNabb had a greater YPA, so it’s really splitting hairs in the regular season. Plus, you could argue that the additions of Terrell Owens and AJ Brown had remarkably similar impacts on their respective QBs, meaning that they both had similar supporting casts on offense.
Hurts season was not great by any means. Guy threw 22 tds, taking modern day defense inflation, that's like being 10 tds in the 2000s. And less than 4000 yards which is like throwing less than 3000 yards in the 2000s.
Also, wouldn't Otto Graham be considered part of the Ravens franchise as that was the browns team that moved, and the current browns were technically an expansion team?
Forget about the Greatest Show on Turf, Kurt Warner made the Hall of Fame just because he took the fucking Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl. Truly an act of God working through a mortal man.
I remember I told family out in Vegas to put money on the Cardinals that season. They thought I was crazy but they did it. Odds were amazing. Then they lost (or "lost") the ticket. I was so mad.
Barry's wife's boyfriend said he had to keep pumping out content and get over 200 k subs asap...he said he might let him start sleeping back in the house if he gets 200 k
If we are considering one and done playoff appearances to be sufficient enough, I’d throw in one of Ken Anderson’s first two pro bowl years for how well he played relative to his era.

He jinxed the team claiming they wouldnt win anything for the next 50 years.. something has to be said about that, notice how abysmal QBs have been for the team since then..
I remember Kramer Peete being okay, mitchell had flash in pan seasons.. Stafford is the best I have seen in my 40+ years watching
As a Bills fan, you are 100% right with putting Kelly in over Allen as Kelly actually got us to the big dance. Well done as always sir!
Not to mention, his stats were better for the early 90’s than Jack Kemp’s were for the mid 60’s when they won their AFL titles.
good list! only thing i would change would be your pick for the jaguars. I'd go with one of the years mark brunnel led them to the AFC championship game.
You should do this with running backs and receivers too
Dis lol
@@jackwilson5152 He had 35 total TD and over 4400 total yards while missing 2 games.
Tom Brady, the best quarterback to consistently have the best defense in the league constantly carry
Brady’s prime in my opinion:
2004-2017
And the head coach willing to cheat.
No Boomer Esiason mention for the Bengals? He also won MVP in ‘88 and went to the playoffs
thank you for this blessing today mr McCockiner
What a hero.
Hold on, just wait a minute, am I actually seeing my man JOE FLACCO get some fucking respect for once?!??!!?!!!!!
My wife’s son Requise loves your content Barry!!!!
I died at the bears one😂😂
Also, wouldn't Otto Graham be considered part of the Ravens franchise as that was the browns team that moved, and the current browns were technically an expansion team?
When the Browns began again, they rassumed their lineage.
breitbart starr is pretty funny actually
Isn’t David Gerard a assistant coach in the nfl ?
Forget about the Greatest Show on Turf, Kurt Warner made the Hall of Fame just because he took the fucking Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl. Truly an act of God working through a mortal man.
I remember I told family out in Vegas to put money on the Cardinals that season. They thought I was crazy but they did it. Odds were amazing. Then they lost (or "lost") the ticket. I was so mad.
Fran Tarkenton. Seriously. 1975. Era adjusted beats Cunningham easily.
I would love it if you made a video in this same style but of the season each franchise got the most news coverage
Barry once again with the great content.
barry is spoiling us
been a fan since the sportstalkjoe days glad to see you beat the 15 account deletions to finally be legit bruh
If only you had this video after this season I’m really hoping fields can actually make something work this year😭😭
I can't wait to see Johnny Manziel historic season on this list
I'm just here to confirm that the Best Lion's QB season was either last year, or one of Stafford's 5k passing years with Calvin Johnson.
I’m 40 something year old Bills fan and I agree with picking Kelly in 1990.
Barry's wife's boyfriend said he had to keep pumping out content and get over 200 k subs asap...he said he might let him start sleeping back in the house if he gets 200 k
I would love to hear your opinion on the Manziel Untold.
A new Barry video? In this economy? Clear my schedule
Barry you always make me happy
Boomer Esiason in 1988 shoulda been on there instead of 05 Palmer, Boomer won MVP and got to the Super Bowl.
If we are considering one and done playoff appearances to be sufficient enough, I’d throw in one of Ken Anderson’s first two pro bowl years for how well he played relative to his era.
Have to be on a burner account so my girlfriend doesn’t leave me for Barry again
Me as a Rams fan: "It's gonna be Kurt Warner in 1999"
Yep
Honourable mentions for 1990 Warren Moon and 2020 Ryan Tannehill.
1990 Warren Moon an Randall Cunningham were amazing!!
For his circumstances, 1970 John Brodie
@barryonhere was 2010 Jay Cutler not better than Sid what's his name?
Maybe not the QB play, but a case for the 85 bears post season run. What 10 points allowed in 3 games.
