I am from Texas judith and remember the incident very clear but the media did not expose was that James owed one of the culprits money from another transaction that had not been paid but yet wanted to buy more . This video made me emotional. It took me a long time not to be upset about the racial issues we, as African Americans face. My grandmother did not allow me as a child to know what it was to be prejudiced. I didn't learn our history until I was 27 years old and in college. Needless to say that I was traumatized and hated white ppl. It took me a long time to get where I'm today. I do not hate anyone anymore. Maybe it's bc I'm German, but I don't understand the problem at all. What's wrong with a person that has darker skin, why do people make such a big deal out of it? The only thing I care about is, if a person is nice or not, by personal experience, it doesn't matter at all what the one looks like, where one comes from and if one is poor or rich. I wonder if there's a larger story at work here as well. A story about the economic system we live in. A system that has allowed working class wages to remain essentially unchanged in real terms over the past 30 years while the costs of goods and services have gone up. It's a system that has allowed the fruits of productivity gain to be captured almost entirely by those who are already rich, making them even richer. The American dream dies when everything goes to the top 1% and the rest of us stagnate within a hardscrabble life. When dreams die, anger and frustration can move in to take their place. Yes, there has always been hate and violence, but I wonder if the increases we have been seeing lately have been brought on by the breakdown of that social contract we used to call the American dream.

I think we as African-Americans need to stop worrying about race relations in this country we didn't create the situation I think what we need to do is do the best we can and that's what we need to worry about relationships with each other the vast majority of European Americans are pretty much decent people and understand that a vibrant black community it's good for them to because all the negativity that the government created in the black community eventually seeps into the European American community. This video made me emotional. It took me a long time not to be upset about the racial issues we, as African Americans face. My grandmother did not allow me as a child to know what it was to be prejudiced. I didn't learn our history until I was 27 years old and in college. Needless to say that I was traumatized and hated white ppl. It took me a long time to get where I'm today. I do not hate anyone anymore. It’s a very new country compared to others, and a whole new idea and experiment. Nowhere else had branded itself as a “melting pot” and tried to create a place where all races, religions, from all over the world to come and be part of it. I wonder if there's a larger story at work here as well. A story about the economic system we live in. A system that has allowed working class wages to remain essentially unchanged in real terms over the past 30 years while the costs of goods and services have gone up. If we really looked at what our ancestors went thru we as blacks would not be able to harm another brother or sister of color if we looked back and saw really studied what our people endored we would be more accepting of each other.
Black people are too indoctrinated/brain washed but so are the people from the other races.

Which ancestors are you referring to? Let me guess...not the ones that "went thru" capturing and selling their "brothers and sisters" in Africa to the European slave traders? I mean, those ancestors are still today maintaining the only slave trade still in existence. Slavery is wrong period but lets be real that EVERY ethnic group has participated in it at one time or another. Its just as fucked up for whites to have slaves as it is for any group. At least we abolished it. Can your fellow "brothers and sisters" in da motherland say that?

I think we as African-Americans need to stop worrying about race relations in this country we didn't create the situation I think what we need to do is do the best we can and that's what we need to worry about relationships with each other the vast majority of European Americans are pretty much decent people and understand that a vibrant black community it's good for them to because all the negativity that the government created in the black community eventually seeps into the European American community. I'm talking about drugs, disintegrating families oh, and the other things that come wood government-sponsored poverty

There are beautiful people on this planet of all nations and colours it is these people that must come together for each other and make society a place where we can all embrace , share and love .
