How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.

Hey Robin, you are amazing in teaching how to crochet comfortably. Loved it. ❤
Thank you so much!😀🥰
Beautiful squares, the colours are so pretty. Going to have to try this one.
Beautiful granny squares. Thanks for the detailed tutorial.
I have crocheted over my ends for as long as I remember. Even I have difficulty finding my ends again ( if needed). It’s as effective as sewing them in. Sometimes I pull the last inch or two in the opposite direction to keep it from unraveling. I also use Ch 2 at the beginning of each row, If I remember ( mainly on garments, I ‘Ll use a stacked sc. Thank you. This is an adorable motif! I may do a stash busting afghan using pastels.👩🏻🦳 🧶👍🏻
That sounds like a great ideal Laurel, I love a stash buster! 😃🧶
I LOVE, LOVE this. Thank you so much for sharing. A new 2020 project coming up. Again, thank you.😃

Very pretty. Thank you for explaining so clearly. 🐨🇦🇺
Fantastic tutorial, very clear instructions & I love the colors you chose!💞
OMG so pretty, definitely going to make at some point. I'll probably do standing dc to join instead of chaining at the start of each new colour. Thank you for the wonderful tutorial
Absolutely Gorgeous Pattern 💖🙏🌹
Thank you Robin. Another wonderful tutorial. Love the pattern. You make JAYG look easy. I am going to make this my next project after I finish the one I'm working on now.

Gorgeous ❤️ thank you.
Beautiful blanket.
Loved your tutorial Robin.
Thank you for the clear tutorial ❤
I love this and thank you for showing step by step I just wish you would have started from the first row and how to connect I have never done this so I was a bit confused but really liked how you explain.
This is perfect for a random square blanket I am making right now! Most of the stitches are swatches of edgings or stitches made in rectangles or squares, really doesn't matter... triangles ..whatever...and I'm just piecing and making a freeform Frankenblanket from seven skeins of RedHeart Color Block. I cut and balled up all the different colors and am making random sizes of samples, lines and seems will not match up and the edge will be well let's just say not straight but it won't be terribly crooked because when I don't have inspiration for some stitch or combination of stitches on a swatch, I am going to do something specific that will fit in such as a corner to corner wherein I will adjust the size of hook to be able to get the squares the right size to fit in where it needs to fit, or if I need something holey, I'll do some crossed double crochets when or the mesh stitches or something. I have had the idea of making some special granny squares to put in here and there or maybe just some plain old regular old style. There is one true granny square of log cabin design with the red hearth that is twice the with of the strips that go around it.
Beautiful!
Hi Robin, wow you certainly can crochet fast 😂! Adding this to my New Project list. Love your instructions soo clear and easy to follow. Still learning after 2 years of crocheting!
Love it!
It’s amazing 💕
Hi robin love this one thanks so much for sharing,it's so pretty love the circles and the colours are so pretty too,you are the tops xxx

How beautiful💕
OMG beautiful blanket. Going to give this one ago. Great video 😀
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo of I ❤️ PASTELS! So pretty thank you
Thank you for the awesome tutorial
Beautiful pattern & colors😊
Because I'm currently obsessed with hexagons, I made one of this circle and loved the result! The only difference is that I ch2 in the corners instead of the ch3. Now planning a field of hexagonal flowers blanket with bright yellow in the center, then variegated flower colors (pink, purple, and peach), joined by a leaf-colored green final round. Thank you for the inspiration!
What a great idea! My thanks to both of you for the inspiration :)
Simple but beautiful!
Simplicity is best sometimes! 😀
So pretty. I want to make this.

The holidays are crazy busy for making for others! I feel your pain!
Hi Robin, I just subscribed to your channel. Just wanted to thank you for sharing how to join as you go. I've never done it this way. Next blanket I will give it a try. Waiting on yarn to come that I ordered on line. Going to make me a throw blanket for these cold winter evenings when relaxing on the sofa. Your blanket is gorgeous love the colors.
Nice beautiful
Beautiful work ...I love your tutorials 😍 so neat n classic 👌 ✨️ ❤️
Thank you so much, that is so kind of you! 🤗🧶 x
Hi I absolutely love this pattern, and I'm in the process of trying it, I've not been doing crochet very long so I'm a real beginner could you please explain how to attach the first two squares I love your tutorials I live in the UK. Thank you x
What a pretty blanket Robin I’ve not done any jayg yet but this looks so lovely I will give it ago thank you 😊Amanda xx💕
You absolutely should give JAYG a go! 👍🥰 x
Great pattern and tutorial thank you
If I wanted to do a 2nd row in white after completing the white round what stitches would I use ?
I love this!! So simple but to cute!! I want to use ombré yarn for the circles instead of changing colors. About how much yarn would you suggest for a baby blanket?
You are awesome 👏
Thank you so much Shashi! 🥰
I have made your popcorn flower, and Bobble blanket.
Your look so much better .so neat .
I try but stitches aren't as even and smooth as yours
Hi Jane, it takes time(and practice) but I am sure yours will improve soon but I bet they look better than you think. Sometimes when we look at our own work, we see all the faults or bits we don't think are good enough that others would not see. 🤗🧶 x
This is so pretty! I’m wondering how these would work in a sweater? Do you think the JAYG method would hold up well on a long sweater coat?
I have never been a fan of the Granny square but you just convinced me . I never thought a Granny square blanket could be pretty and lacy but again, you have just proved me wrong. I can't wait to make one , it is just lovely. Thank you for the lesson and the pattern.
I'm so glad you are converted!!
This is gorgeous, Robin! Thank you ❤ I wonder if you can make a rectangular wrap/ shawl in this design?
🐐
I’m new to this channel, and love this pattern!...I can see coasters, lacemats. Rugs,...but question...is the round formula of adding 1 dc per ‘#09’e ch 1..7# it good infinitely?...or at some point will it ruffle???
If I wanna carry on square like big square do I have to do triple crochet or regular
I am loving how my solid color works up. Im gonna do a lighter border when I join. Do you know the name of this particular granny square?
I don't know if it has an official name as such I'm afraid!
I'm normally not a fan of pastels, but this particular gradient is beautiful. I wonder how it would look with two rounds each of the first three colours, and squaring up in grey. Sort of a pale fire colourway.
ooooh yes! That sounds gorgeous!
Hi robin can you tell me if it’s possible to continue in the round to make it bigger.if so how do I do increases
Hi Robin! How would the circle be done if you aren’t changing colors? I am just doing a chain three as the first double and going on from there but it looks wrong, so. Hopefully you might have some advice.
Love this pattern but am confused with the joining method. I understand what you did with the border colour - how did you work the square with the white border on the joining square?. Do you have to work the white borders for the centre squares first. Hope my question makes sense!!. The blanket you are working on already has squares joined - how do you start with your very first square?. Many thanks
This video may show it a little better - its using squares but the premise is the same :-) ruclips.net/video/cxcJW0hgp3g/видео.html
@@HookedbyRobin I am confused, too, and that other video didn’t quite help. Is there a video of these granny circles first being joined from two separate circles onward? Like the square video but for this exact blanket. I assume we have to start by adding white edges to our pieces, but how many of them? Etc. I can’t fill in blanks, I have to follow along exactly 🥲
Hello, this may be a silly question, but I was curious if it's possible for someone to just make a full-sized circle blanket if they did this without eventually adding the square boarder? Or if there are circle blanket designs that use something similar to this method?
What brand hook do u use. I love that,
🥰💞💞
Robin how many squares across and down in this baby blanket.?
How do I begin to attach my circles to one another to make a square around circle. I have been watching your video on crochet granny circle in a square join as you go. I started to make the square around the circle and left one end open, but now how do I attach another circle?
Sandy Pock
Hello Robin. I am crocheting this blanket in Red Heart Super Saver Ombre. I would like to know how many squares, did you crochet please? Thank you.
How many skeins of each color do you recommend to make this a decent sized blanket?
I noticed, your last round was 5 dc, and then you join with 4 dc and 4tc at the corner. How does this keep from looking wonky by decreasing ? I’m asking because I my circle is bigger at 5 dc all the way around
🙋♀️😍
🥰🤗
I love this blanket! I am wondering if anyone has made it using the yarn Robin did. How big they made it and how much of the yarn they had to use. I was thinking of ordering this yarn but would like to have an idea how much to order. Thank you so much in advance :)
The pattern is very pretty. Could you move your hands out of the way for a couple three seconds so we could see the pattern more. You voice and hands are beautiful and appreciate your teaching skills! Thank you for your channel!!!
Are my hands in the way during the tutorial itself or the intro? I'm keen to improve so feedback is always appreciated! 😀
What yarn do you use for blankets🥺 is it soft?
You always have nice nails
If you want it bigger how do you increase?
How to do border please
Plz lemme know thank u my lovely instructor
What brand of yarn are you using in this video??
Hello, it is: Stylecraft Special DK
Shades: (in order from yellow center of circle outwards) Lemon, Apricot, Candyfloss, Clematis, Wisteria, White (or Palma Violet as shown in video).
I hope that helps.🤗🧶
1 question plz
Hi is this pattern in US crochet terms?
Yes :-)
Please slow down Thankyou
