    I love how you changed the join color. It gives the blanket a really cozy feel! I have made a number of granny square blankets and have always joined the squares with the same color throughout. I'm going to try your technique on my next project. Thank you!

    You're a great teacher. I'm starting this tomorrow as soon as my yarn comes. Two of my nieces are pregnant so at least one will be getting this as a baby blanket.
    *I just can't get the hang of a magic circle. I must have tried 20 times. So I looked up another way of starting the circle and now I have it!

    I was thinking, you could make the circles with a variegated yarn and the seams with a matching solid. Or the other way around.

  • @sabrinaehlert6934
    @sabrinaehlert6934 10 месяцев назад

    I have not seen the seams done with different colors. I’m definitely going to try it. The polka dots are fun and I can see using left over yarn for this pattern. I appreciate you taking the time to create this video.

    Thank you so much for this pattern! I love the colors and border. I am following your video and also bought your pattern on Etsy. Just wanted to comment that on the written pattern once you change color and doing the corners you do not specify that would need to do 2 dc in the same space twice. It is written 2dc, ch1, 2 dc in the same space. Thankfully on your video you do mention it and was able to continue.

    • @butfirstcrochet
      @butfirstcrochet  9 месяцев назад

      I appreciate that, thanks for letting me know. I’ll correct that error.

    • @butfirstcrochet
      @butfirstcrochet  9 месяцев назад +1

      Are you talking about the first corner made? The ch 3 counts as the 1st dc so that is 2dc in the first st. Then ch 1 and place 2dc in the next st to make the first corner. The rest of the corners are (2dc, ch 1, 2dc). Does that make sense?

    CAN YOU MAKE THE SQUARES ((THE WHITE YARN BIGGER WITH 4 ROWS)) ?? HOW MANY SQUARES FOR THIS BLANKET??SORRY SO MANY COMMENTS.

      I was wondering the same thing! I'm not good at math, so I was wondering how many squares were in it also!?

    • @Grumpytank59
      @Grumpytank59 9 месяцев назад +2

      To do another round repeat the last round. You will add 4 stitches to each side. If you have 10, you added 4 so you have 14 stitches. This next round will be 18. 2 in the corner 14 across and 2 in the corner. This is like making a solid granny square. I hope this works for you. Don’t forget the chain one space in the corner.

      I'm a beginner and not knowing exactly what stitch you're going into when you join the border color throws my count off...in either end up guessing it right, or having 1 less or 1 too many... I have too many off these yup make too keep guessing and taking it down to re-try🥹

      Try an adjustable ring. I will make a tutorial for one in my next video. I get this question a lot.

    • @kata7628
      @kata7628 8 месяцев назад

      I’ve found that doubling the magic circle ring makes ALL the difference. Suddenly it stays tight, feels secure, and is easy.
