      The original LP Gods...
      Actually I think it was more that in those early days you could find the guitars, they would circulate and so the right soul mate LP found the right players in many cases. The right one for you might be the particular guitar 5 people didn't bond with.
      That's hard to do now, you can't circulate them casually once they become more than instruments & become objects of money, cult and ego status. It kind of demoralizes the pure musical prospect of having such a guitar as they are far too great a liability to gig and enjoy anymore. Historics seem like a grand rip off, trading on the cult status of the real thing.

    • @vanillacreem816
      @vanillacreem816 3 года назад +11

      @@brockr4377 yeah as far as who is the best , to certain degree it’s subjective. Blackmore is good, another one would be Jeff Beck who is a certainly a notable mention. I think Clapton is one of the greatest too. I think why I like Page the best is because he was so versatile.. hard core lead , 12 string, double neck playing.. just all around a great musician /guitarist. IMHO

    I own JPP 713 since new in 2006 and I will never sell it. It’s been on most of my bands’ albums and will be a part of my new band and is my only electric I will play. It’s insanely versatile. Switch in treble with knob up sounds like a Tele-middle is out of phase like Peter Green as he said -I can get a strat neck notch sound in the right spot on tone knob. The regular LP settings all rule. When I bought it I compared to it a 59 ES 345 with PAFs and the neck PU stood toe to toe. It’s probably the best work Gibson Custom ever did -an opinion shared my many. Only 860 were made.

    This is the first, and only time I have ever heard jimmy page mention peter greens name . Page and green are my two favourite guitarists . I have always wondered if they knew each other or ever jammed together. Would love to hear what page thinks of Peter greens playing .

      Jimmy has mentioned Peter a few times over the years. In one interview Jimmy said Black dog was inspired by Oh well. What he meant was the
      spoken part going into the main riff each time.

    That guitar is so iconic to me. It started my love for guitars and guitar playing watching this being used on stage in the Song Remains The Same. Can only imagine the appraisal price of that girl geesh. 🎸 #Zoso

    I finally got a reproduction that has the sound accusticlly so I put 50's pickups and Volume and now I can see why everyone liked these years of guitar. I prefer grover tuners, I just don't like plastic on a tuner, and the finer gear I feel is more stable.

    Holy Shaaaat!! The Holy Grail. They didn’t mention that Joe Walsh actually gave that guitar to Jimmy. Joe, well known for tinkering and doing his own customizations on his axes, had shaved down the neck. A bit too much for his own liking. Jimmy had basically done everything on his Tele up to that point, and by chance, the neck felt made for his hands. Of course, the rest is history
