Jimmy Fucking Page, almost always plays a solo, and its almost always good. Just look at him slouching, like some sort of elder rock god relaxing in the country. What a man.
I used to belong to the side that believed Zep was great DESPITE Jimmy Page and his sometimes sloppy, offbeat guitar style...I had a profound awakening about a year ago as to how incredible and rare Jimmy's musicianship and musical spirit is. He occupies his own place of greatness.
Funny how Jimmy comments on bands at that time(84) were using computers too much and all sounding the same... I wonder what he thinks of music today?!?!?! haha
I love how Jimmy was always above gossip and bad mouthing. Notice he would only refer to the sound of current music in general, when the interviewer kept asking for specific examples.
+Frankincensed You have to get the Stormcock album. An absolute classic. Jimmy Page is credited as S Flavius Mercurius on this track. He also plays under his own name on Roy's Lifemask album.
jan thefan Never knew that. RUclips has shown me a lot of stuff that got under the radar. Of course there are so many artist out there tough to know them all. But the Tube is a godsend.
Jeeze, asking Jimmy why he didn't pick up a guitar for 18 months. Seriously, do you need an answer? Isn't it rather obvious? Bonzo's death completely traumatized him to the core. Look at pictures of Jimmy from '82 from Feather In The Wind by Dave Lewis. You thought he looked bad in 79/80? 1982 will shock you.
he said that it was quite serious that he hadn't touched a guitar for 18 months...i dont know about you but that painful to me...inconceivable to me that jimmy page did not touch a guitar for 18 months
I've been a professional musician for a little over 20 years now, and there have been two periods in my life where didn't pick up an instrument. The first time it was for over 2 years.
Wow that horrible interviewer was really rude to Jimmy Page. But Page, being a laid back genius who just wanted to get back to playing and could not care less about self-promotion, did not care a bit. He was always so kick ass. And he still is.
Boy there is a lot of tension between Jimmy, Roy and Mark. Mark is a bit pompous. Doesn't he realize he was interviewing Jimmy Page? Show a little respect son!
page always seems to us as a musician who always knew everything that he qould do, with his music and even with his image, but in fact he's quite crazy
To 'David Cult' below (no reply option for me), the last two albums by zep were just filler material to my ear. Hated them. When they had the big idea to wrap their album in three different covers, I thought that was just a marketing scam to sell bad tunes. There was only one tune on both of those that sounded Great, in the opening chords them it went pop.
I really hate seeing so called journalist interview real musicians and ask the most insulting questions. Mark seemed unprepared and unfamiliar with his interview subjects. What a waste of an opportunity. They seemed pretty disappointed as well.
I think it's appropriate to say hats off to Roy harper?
Page has this modest, quiet attitude. It makes him appear very intelligent. (which he is)
jimmy page rockin a brown leather jacket, bottle of wine and a cigarette in Langdale. Such a badass.
Jimmy Fucking Page, almost always plays a solo, and its almost always good. Just look at him slouching, like some sort of elder rock god relaxing in the country.
What a man.
Jimmy must have been very depressed when John Bohnam died.
Hats off to the Roy Harper...

I really wish page would do an acoustic album

I think the general theme among musicians is not to knock a possible future collaboration with them. Via will not bad mouth anyone either.
Jimmy...yup, he's been my favorite since '68 and Roy...well, my Hat's Off to Roy Harper!
Hung with roy back 20 years ago...great times...
Hats Off To (Roy) Harper.
Only knew of Roy Harper through Zep some 30 years ago. Just listening to him for the first time.
Roy Harper sang on the pink Floyd song Have a cigar cmon on dear boy you gonna go far !!!!
jan thefan you gonna fly high!....
+Frankincensed You have to get the Stormcock album. An absolute classic. Jimmy Page is credited as S Flavius Mercurius on this track. He also plays under his own name on Roy's Lifemask album.
+mmmaxaz you're never gonna dieeee

Two legends. Roy was the first to break new ground - check out his debut album: "Sophisticated Beggar" recorded in 1966!
that was some damn beautiful music.
Jimmy Page has this geneous off beat rhytm/timing that is impossible to replicate
when i was starting to play guitar jimmy page and his was who i imagined i would be. he is so sensible a musician .
thanx for the info..uk is so awesome.wish i could hike around there.
Well done for uploading. I remember watching this the first time round in England 28 years ago!
3:28 "Oy! Oy! Who's that over there?"
Me: "Paul McCartney."
This was so funny in Mark Ellen's book
he said that it was quite serious that he hadn't touched a guitar for 18 months...i dont know about you but that painful to me...inconceivable to me that jimmy page did not touch a guitar for 18 months

I am sorry for your pain...and thank you for your response

The music is all around us, all we have to do is listen. ~ August Rush
It's blowin in the wind
As described in great and hilariousdetail in Mark Ellen's book "Rock Stars Stole My Life".
the same roy haper that zep did hats of to roy harper on 3 and roy harper was the vocalist on pink floyds have a cigar
The boys are pretty stoned - good friends trying to stifle a giggle.
2 Legends .
i'm embarrassed to say that i never knew that roy harper sang "have a cigar". i always thought it was roger waters.
twinsmm1 Don't feel bad... It is better to enjoy and experience than to know all the details.
waters usually sang it live though.
the interviewer's smile is like paul mccartney's
Bonito paraje para esta cancion
Actually, Jimmy Page was his high school hurdles champion.
Great article in last month's MOJO Magazine about Roy... 80s weren't exactly his best "time"... but this is pretty cool.
good and high!!!!
Парни просто кайфуют на воздухе в Em)))))
Remember this well
God knows if Jimmy had that wailing through distortion no one would be able to comprehend his greatness.
Yes.....Roy Harper was brought in to sing 'Have a Cigar' by Roger Water's....aka Pink Floyd
Jessica
Many thanks for uploading this, and the other Roy Harper OGWT videos - much appreciated.
It's all goooood!
this guy, roy harper is the same who sings have a cigar by pink floyd??
the song at the end would have made a great Led Zeppelin song its awesome
cool as fuck.
.. caught that edit. good job.
Jimi Page traveling
A perfect match of musicians, would have been great to see these guys carry on together rather than Page go off with Coverdale, an inferior artist.
Langdale meets Blea Tarn. I saw this at the time, and always remember Depeche Mode being involved in the discussion - no sign of them here.
yeah dude
Boy there is a lot of tension between Jimmy, Roy and Mark. Mark is a bit pompous. Doesn't he realize he was interviewing Jimmy Page? Show a little respect son!
I agree, and me too man. Me too
Jimmy is god damn stoned ahaha
I thought the interviewer was Paul McCartney
mark grew up on david bowie and roxy music.
Oh the struggle to not strive.
Hats n aw that !!
They should've just interviewed each other. This interviewer is a dweeb
Baaaah it's the year of the sheep !!!!
seems that the interviewer felt in love with roy
The Lake District, UK.
jimmy didn't play for a while because he was busy kicking heroin, it's especially tough when your instrument is so associated with your drug use
Smouldering! A slippy Adamas each ;-)
Somewhere near Blea Tarn.
over anything "scarce any trace of human civilization/life"
*Roy Harper
paul mccartney was such a douche to those legends XD
what song are they playing anyone know?
"The Same Old Rock" from Stormcock..
thanks man!
were is that place?
kkkkkk.... mary jane session rules!!!......
page always seems to us as a musician who always knew everything that he qould do, with his music and even with his image, but in fact he's quite crazy
Harper calls Ellen "Martin" at 5;20.
Bob Page

He'd left the heroin by then so....your argument is invalid!!! Eh Eh...
They both ripped off Bert Janch for years and gave him no credit ever !!!!!! Thieves is what they are .....listen to this...
Cocaine is one hell of a drug.
