The amp is a Fender EC Twinolux, an Eric Clapton signature amp, based on the Twin (but with quite a few features which no tweed Twin ever offered). This model was introduced in 2011, and is no longer in production.

George Harrison was just incredible. that was an AWESOME Les Paul such killer tone. the let down was it was about relic guitars I can't stand them.
To me, his life has been like a dream. Although he has had the trials and tribulations we all have, the one thing that breaks my heart, other than the tragic death of his son, is the fact his father, who he never knew, lived his whole life not knowing Eric Clapton was his son.
+Gio Tech Well... he makes a lot of money. With some effort involved - to doubt, it can't be done by money only - it is easier to do the things required to keep as fit and healthy as possible in your seventies, if money is not a problem. You know, personal trainers, dieticians and such... Some people also speak of notoriously costly special therapies in Switcherland, accecible only to the very rich. I mean, just look not just at Eric Clapton but also at Paul McCartney and especially at Ringo Starr...
I'm not against artist tribute instruments, but I'll be so happy when they get past the "relic" crap. I don't want a guitar that's a twin of some one else's guitar. One that has every nick and scratch that THEY put on it. I want a pristine canvas that I can put my own dents and stuff into. At least I'll know where it came from and have the memories that are attached to them. But hey....to each their own.
That’s why they do them in the VOS finish as well usually, those look old but they don’t have every ding of the original. I like when people like Fender do relicing because it’s always different with each guitar. Gibson usually just recreates someone else’s.
@@megadave1197 - Not sure if your comment was aimed my way or not, but if it was...yeah. Not a problem at all. While I may not be able to play a guitar like Clapton but I'm very capable of putting wear on any guitar as well as he has. oh yeah...🙄
I respect that opinion, but I like nicks on the guitar because it’s a tribute. Y’know, that’s just me, lol. If I wanted a pristine canvas, I’ just get a new guitar, like, for example, a Player Stratocaster
It's interesting to see a legend have to stop and fiddle with his amp... reassuring in a way. Nice to see him just playing at home like everybody else.
As a teenager in the sixties, one of my first albums was the Beano Bluesbreakers album and I could not believe Eric's playing and tone on that album. Still can't. Lightning in a bottle.
I was in high school when "Clapton was God", until Hendrix came along he was by far the best rock/blues guitarist in the world. Steve Vai has his 8 hour a day workout/shred fest, but back then they played with talent, passion and emotion. In the arts, technique means shit, photography can replicate a landscape or portrait. Feeling, baring you soul and passion will always beat shredding scales at light speed. Same for singing, if you want technique go to the opera, I'll listen to Dylan, Robert Plant or Van Morrison. Many have built this culture of shitting on our heritage and denying great rock music. There is an expression - "standing on the shoulders of giants". I turn on the radio now and hear mostly shit.cheers
Tom S. Much of what you said makes sense until you look at the facts, according to Guinness records, Beatles have sold over 1 billion records, 5 biggest selling bands of all time are Beatles, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Pink Floyd. Biggest selling albums, Thriller, Back in black, Rumours, Saturday Night Fever, Dark side of the moon. And you did hear all these bands on the radio on high rotation. Mum and dad didn't get a look in because the baby boomer generation wanted their music and a huge amount of money was made from album sales. Ricky Nelson and Barbara Steisand wouldn't even be in the top 100 albums. I know people now don't buy cds like we bought records, because of the internet and they download songs they like not particularly whole albums. I also agree that there are lots of great rock, alternative, metal bands around now but I don't hear them on the radio, I listen to Radiohead to Slipknot/Stone Sour and everything in between. I know the indifferent or ignorant, great unwashed general public out there don't hear new, creative rock/alternative music on the radio, we have to look for it and that is quite different to back then. cheers from Australia.
James Wellington if that is his opinion what difference does it make to you or anyone else ? The air on that high horse of your's must be causing you to have altitude sickness ... good luck with that
James Wellington The reason I mentioned Vai was because he is possibly the best guitarist on the planet in terms of technique, I admire his skills but I find no emotional connection to his music. Just my view. cheers.
I love how they tried to make a video about him talking about it a guitar dedicated to him and his friend, and then it slowly devolves into him talking about amps and the blues

I know Eric did all of those things, but yes, it was the 60’s and 70’s, so it wasn’t uncommon sadly. Eric had a hard life even before becoming famous, but I’m glad he is much better and I really appreciate him for that. Btw, thank you for sounding more kind rather than some people who can be nasty :)
This is a better ad for the amp than the guitar.
Alex Lazo Looks like a 57 Fender Twin in tweed =)
Daniel McCarten its a bassman
The amp is a Fender EC Twinolux, an Eric Clapton signature amp, based on the Twin (but with quite a few features which no tweed Twin ever offered). This model was introduced in 2011, and is no longer in production.
Guitar sounds like garbage amp also. He does too. Alan Wyles
@Alan Golias, so why are you here if you say it sounds garbage? Your comment was more garbage than anything
Great to hear Eric's memories of some classic sounds and guitars.
when he corrects himself about George "would have been able to set it up" just shows how close they were...thank god we still have clapton here
“George is capable, er George would've been capable....”
Let that sink in....
He’s got something connecting himself with his old friend right in front of him... really tells you how close they were😔
George was incredible, George was incredible, in my words let that one sink in.
He didn’t say that.

Yes, he didn’t say those words. Similar, but not those words. Have a listen properly.
I could listen to him talk about this all day
I was fortunate to meet with him, while of working at fender, great man to work with...
I don't know why a lot of people here saying Eric is overrated, the guy is an absolute legend, what are u guys doing here? If u think he's overrated go watch slash of some other shit
1:05 "you're not going to like this!" Yes Eric, yes we are.
For me the absolute cools thing about This video is it really shows how much respect Eric has for the instrument itself.... Mark of a true artist
such a wealth of knowledge and history from this man...the things he has done and the things he has seen in his lifetime are truly amazing.
His memory for details is impressive. A true craftsman. Humble too, refers to himself as a “simple human being.” Can’t make this stuff up.
Love his big smile when he turns up the volume. Ahhhhh here we are.
God I miss George
Man I keep seeing you In the comments of all these great rock and blues videos. Good taste my man!
There is just 1 word to describe this guy WOW! Eric u are just a freaking LEGEND man.
Didn’t he steal another guy’s wife ?!
I love listening to Eric, just do. LOve the way he quickly interjects other ideas before finishing a sentence, so much to say.
Eric Clapton was right when he said your going to like this. he was absolutely right. it's great to hear him talk about how he got some of the guitars he played. George Harrison was just incredible. that was an AWESOME Les Paul such killer tone. the let down was it was about relic guitars I can't stand them.
A Clapton/Harrison? What does it do: act like your mate then run off with your amp?
LOL
Haha
This was Eric`s atonement to George for "Patty". Excellent trade! You know Eric is still regretting/misses that Les Paul.
wesmatron LOL nice one..
all I can say is you are a bunch of gay boys like Newt Greenwitch with his Boys Club.
when clapton goes up on the stage to perform he becomes a different man a guitar and music magician.
Is it just me or does this tone sound absolutely insanely good
To me, his life has been like a dream. Although he has had the trials and tribulations we all have, the one thing that breaks my heart, other than the tragic death of his son, is the fact his father, who he never knew, lived his whole life not knowing Eric Clapton was his son.
I could listen to this guy talk shop for hours. He’s forgotten more about the guitar than most of us will ever learn in our lives.
“I might have to turn it up I’m afraid” mate I’ll be grooving even while you tune your guitar
is it me or Clapton got younger.
+Gio Tech That's true. I got the same impression. He might have started a healthier lifestyle, who knows?
+Gio Tech Well, if Clapton is God, maybe he fancied himself a bit younger. Then POOF. He made it so.
+Gio Tech
Well... he makes a lot of money.
+Gio Tech he got sober
he's been sober for years though he stopped drinking around the 90's
I'm not against artist tribute instruments, but I'll be so happy when they get past the "relic" crap.
I don't want a guitar that's a twin of some one else's guitar. One that has every nick and scratch that THEY put on it.
I want a pristine canvas that I can put my own dents and stuff into. At least I'll know where it came from and have the memories that are attached to them.
But hey....to each their own.
Albert Hammond's Signature by Fender is exactly that. Based on an old, genuine relic'd strat but comes clean for you to make your own dings
That’s why they do them in the VOS finish as well usually, those look old but they don’t have every ding of the original. I like when people like Fender do relicing because it’s always different with each guitar. Gibson usually just recreates someone else’s.
You comparing your canvas to that of Clapton 😂
@@megadave1197 - Not sure if your comment was aimed my way or not, but if it was...yeah. Not a problem at all.
While I may not be able to play a guitar like Clapton but I'm very capable of putting wear on any guitar as well as he has.
oh yeah...🙄
I respect that opinion, but I like nicks on the guitar because it’s a tribute. Y’know, that’s just me, lol. If I wanted a pristine canvas, I’ just get a new guitar, like, for example, a Player Stratocaster
Goes straight to the blues - i love how all top guitarists do this, give them a guitar during an interview and they start playing blues licks.
I could listen to Eric talk about guitars until my veins dry out
2 others worth a look are Joe Walsh and Paul Gilbert.
Eric said, "George was capable of setting it up". Very Cool George. RIP my brother.
Don't ya just love when legendary rock stars tell real cool stories like this?
Although I find him to be a tad overhyped, this man has my utmost respect. A very humble soul and somebody who truly loves what he does. Great man.
Sept 11 2019 was the 2nd most memorable sept 11th because Clapton played SF and my mum and I watched in awe
Clapton is without doubt a great guitarist, love his outlook on life too!
It's interesting to see a legend have to stop and fiddle with his amp... reassuring in a way. Nice to see him just playing at home like everybody else.
How awesome would it be to sit and listen to Eric play this?
When you hear him say "the sixties". Tells you what a legend he really is!
What a legend.. Respect
Love the man his music and his stories AND his guitars. So nice to see the Master with a Les Paul again.
Dont die. Just get ages, please
_tamtan_ I have no idea what I will do when this legend dies.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Full blown ages
Clapton is a racist fuck. Who cares. Not like he's gonna make any more good music.
Eric Clapton makes any guitar sound great.
I am happy that old man has started to play guitar, age doesnt matter for passion. Wish him best of luck
Ive watched this over and over
Love Eric - he’s such a brilliant guitarist ✌🏻🎶🎸
As a teenager in the sixties, one of my first albums was the Beano Bluesbreakers album and I could not believe Eric's playing and tone on that album. Still can't. Lightning in a bottle.
still alive, a force of life. Blessings to him.
just by watching him noodle on the guitar you learn so much more about playing
Just finished watching the new Get Back documentary. And I knew Clapton did this interview a few years back. Now I want this guitar
Its hard to tell if the guitar sounds amazing or everything Clapton plays sounds amazing.
Great to see Clapton turning up the gain... like in the ol' days!!!
I could listen to him talk about guitars for hours and be happy
He's so awesome, love Clapton, what a talent.
You saying Vai has no emotion? God you're fucking mental.
Just my view. cheers.
Steve Vai is better than Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix is the most overrated guitarist ever.
there's nothing i love more than watching a pro talk about a guitar
In a white room....
Kevin Sandstrom with white curtains .....
Dats raysis!
This guy is an absolute legend.
I love how they tried to make a video about him talking about it a guitar dedicated to him and his friend, and then it slowly devolves into him talking about amps and the blues
That Vibrato! Damn fantastic!
