Their concerts were fun, i worked stagehand for their empire tour and attended the entire Operation Mindcrime tour!! Great memories! Love Queensryche!!
Boeing is based in Seattle… Hence “Jet City” … Geoff Tate was the vocal GOD of the 80’s, along side Dio and Bruce Dickinson. Although Empire was an amazing album… I’d still classify Mindcrime as their opus. … btw. She’s GORGEOUS
You mean Geoff Tate IS THE VOCAL GOD OF THE 80'S....and his vocal range is amazing....especially in the song Queen of The Reich. What an AWESOME VOICE!!!
Great song, love the video...lots of hard metal Queensryche fans gave them a lot of shit over the Empire album...I like it !!! Everyone wants to sing like Geoff Tate...lol...man if I had his voice just for one night I'd so go slay it at a karaoke bar somewhere !!!..So recommend "Road to Madness", dunno if there's a video..don't think so, but it's an amazing song..vocals are super incredible !!
I was lucky enough to meet the band during the Empire tour, get their autographs & see the concert. As far as I'm concerned the new Q-ryche is no match for Tate & his new bandmates. Todd LaTorre who's the new singer is just a Geoff Tate wannabe.
@@torybrown2312 I can't even give a try with this current band line-up, there is only one Queensryche..I kick myself constantly cause I had two chances to see them live but was unable
@@richnorcal Ah that's too bad. Sorry to hear that. You ever listen to the new Ryche with Todd LaTorre? I tried but was unimpresssed cuz as I said Todd is a Geoff wannabe.
There will be an interesting journey here, should you choose to accept it. The warning, rage for order and operation mindcrime actually all make sense together if you were to pull certain songs out. They fit together in a society we have seen an are seeing today. Please read the lyrics and listen to NM156, Roads to Madness, Screaming in Digital, I will remember off the early two albums. Geoff has two solo albums that are very different, but unique, self titled and kings and thieves. I enjoyed both for different reasons. He's also done the operation mindcrime band. You have to kind of pick and choose songs off there. I enjoyed "the fight" and "left for dead" there's a few albums after Empire all the way up until "Frequency Unknown" album. He's did a nice tune with Sweet Oblivion called "Disconnect". Now he's touring this year in the u.s. Try to catch him. I think you will enjoy Geoff as a person and lyrics that pique the thinking person's mind and emotions.
I saw them twice as support for Metallica in Germany in 88! Both bands killed it! You two missed out on a lot of great concerts over here. And cheap! ;)
I don't know how many years ago i saw this video. I don't remember if i made it to the end of the video. I only made it to about 0:10 this time watching. These two are legends!
I move from Hawaii to Jet City aka Seattle in Summer of 1989 and was around through a lot of the grunge movement. Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, and Queensryche were my top three Seattle bands. It was a great time to be in Seattle and catching live performances.
You two together are Hilarious!!!!! First time watcher here and I can’t tell if she is sooooo pissed off having to redo the video/reaction or that’s your two’s vibe together but it was great!!!!! One of the best tunes ever in my humble opinion and I love damn near all of Queensrycke’s music!!!!! Thanks for this you two!!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 🎸🎸🎸❤️😎🍸
I sorry to say this, but, #QUEENSRYCHE is not only better the Dream Theater, but they are greatest band especially with Geoff Tate/Chris DeGarmo era...after that they have not been the same 🤘
I've come to really enjoy the queensryche songs we've done but still think Dream Theater is better for me. I can appreciate others thinking Queensryche is better though. Can't fault anyone for thinking that. Both are outstanding.
To your comment about "this concert looking fun"..... The Mindcrime/Empire tour was an incredible show. Saw it here in central FL. Ryche was always flawless live in the 80's and early 90's. The entire live concert is available on RUclips if you want to just react to it. It's Operation Mindcrime front to back with some of the songs off Empire thrown in as well. Was a phenomenal setlist.
Little scary you didn't know that was Seattle....and yes, the Space Needle is still there. Seattle (area) used to be home to Boeing so it was often called "The Jet City"....one of the most theatrical shows I've ever seen. These guys are better live.....
As far as I'm concerned Queensryche & Dream Theater are in a class by themselves. I saw 'ryche LIVE twice & their shows are amazing. I'm going to see Dream Theater live for the 11th time very soon.
Geoff is a musical cheat code. Saw them in '94 (Type O Negative was the opener, what a strange pairing), unremarkable venue but it was their peak era. Great show and they sound just as good live! Della Brown is my favorite off this album, and the unplugged version is likely their best. Thanks for sharing.
He's absolutely right. You SHOULD mention if it isn't your first time reacting. What were you going to fake it? Transparency is integrity and makes people like you much better.
I'll just add in a reply of my own I guess--- my all time favorite Geoff Tate vocal treat is off Rage for Order--- Walk In The Shadows. But, yeah...for growing up playing trumpet and keyboards, and only 9 lessons from the "Maestro" he is definitely incredible... you could say he was a late bloomer when it came to discovering his voice.
Your reaction is so good! New release! by "ONE OK ROCK" 「Save Yourself」MV. So cool ! All English lyrics.(English ver: Fueled By Ramen official site) They are Japanese Rock Band.( Previously, They have collaborated with Ed Sheeran and Linkin Park) Please check out!
What a cool couple of people you two seem to be. I'm headed to see Mr. Geoff Tate in October in California. Hope you guys get a chance yourselves. Stay cool...people. Frank in southern California.
Did you guys switch roles today? He seemed like the Jerk today, and she was way beyond. Loved your stick on "The Needle" He really didn't know? Please don't show him the Grand Canyon, that would really embarrass him. Lol. I'll leave it there.......
Nice to see more people listening to my generation of super talented musicians. I feel most music today does come close and people of younger generations need to do this trip into the past. Operation Mindcrime is a masterpiece that still brings tears you my face. I know you will enjoy it.
Jet city was common knowledge of that being Seattle Washington back then, and still is or so I thought, it’s where the Boeing plants are and why it’s called jet city
When this album came out, Ricky Rackman was interviewing Geoff and Chris. He asked the question, “There’s a lot of great music coming out of Seattle right now, why is that?” Without missing a beat, Geoff replied, “well, it’s a little known fact that for the last decade, Boeing has been releasing chemicals into the air to stimulate creativity. Given the prevailing wind conditions, you should see a lot of bands emerging out of Southern Canada in the next five years.” Chris doubled over in the back with hands over his face to keep from laughing, and Ricky is totally serious, saying, “dude, that’s amazing! Southern Canada - looking forward to it.”
I am honestly shocked that you guys haven't even done a single AC/DC song yet.....so I would like to throw my hat in the ring and suggest WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE( live at the river plate)
This is one of the great tracks from the Empire album, along with "Empire" and "Silent Lucidity" (a ballad). I definitely recommend reviewing Silent Lucidity. As well, other truly outstanding ones from Queensryche are "Roads to Madness" from the Warning album, and "Eyes of a Stranger" from their Operation Mindcrime album. You should definitely consider doing reaction videos to those 3.
You're not wrong as a fan of Dream Theater also... I'll defend Queensryche as the more palatable band. They were awesome to grow up and listen to. They were the OGs of the genre.
Now you're getting it... good job you two. Jet city woman is an ode to Seattle where the band is from. Seems like you two really enjoyed this one and are starting to really appreciate the quality of Queensryche. "Is anybody listening"...or "Another Rainy Night" from the same album... best I can is the lead track and is anybody listening the last track on the album. Also so many great songs off of operation mindcrime from the official videos...sweet sister Mary... I don't believe in love... breaking the silence.. eyes of a stranger... or the lady wore black is another great official video. All these songs I've mentioned have higher production quality so they're easier to appreciate the quality of the song when playing these official music videos then take hold of the flame is. I mean "Best I Can" is about a kid who finds his dad's gun in his parents bedroom and accidentally shoots and paralyzes himself from the waist down when he was a young kid but decides to make his life the best he can... so uplifting! And is anybody listening is about dealing with the fall from fame of someone famous when the music stops... the lyrics to both are stupendous. And probably the video you should do next because it's probably their most famous song and it is a great video is "Eyes of a Stranger"...the last track on operation mindcrime that wraps up the entire 15 song Story.... the production value of the video is tremendous.

But I'll figure it out! See you then!
Operation mind crime album. Best album ever. :). But it's a concept album. Each song is a chapter in the story. All songs are great. Even more impressive when it's all written to developed the story.
If you listen to this entire album in order you'll probably be transfixed. It's a story from beginning to end. These guys together were extremely talented. Too bad they could not reconcile, not its two bands (one with Tate, one with the guitarist).
