Jimmy Barnes duet with John Farnham singing When Something Is Wrong With My Baby is the type of music that turns singers into legends. Has to be explored as soon as possible. Cheers
Second that. It’s the song that seems to have started the Barnes/Farnham juggernaut on RUclips the last couple of years. Simply outstanding vocals from both and a similar style to Stone Cold, which you obviously loved.
Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes with Joe Bonamassa ‘ Riding With The Kings ‘ you would love ,Mahalia can sing like her dad, and of course Jimmy and John Farnham as recommended by many others. Great reaction.Thank you.
Jimmy Barnes with Tina Turner "simply the best"...he was so nervous, he said Tina was his idol for years, she said don't worry i will make you look good!!!.....
Thanks for that insight..I knew Reece Wynans, formerly of SRV and Double Trouble, the keyboardist, is now with Joe, but now can check out Jimmy Barnes Granddaughter, on back up vocals. Joe is the real deal!
Jimmy singing this as a young man was amazing and as a old man, he is a legend that stood the test of time. This is my fav JB song and he is singing about his wife and sobriety
My first time for Jim Barnes. I really enjoyed his vocals! Of course, the guitar work from Joe goes without saying. Great reaction (lovely) Sam and Phil.
Strongly recommend you have a look at my channel as I post remastered high quality audio and video of Jimmy- have a look at Chandelier which I posted yesterday. Seriously it will blow you away !!
Cold Chisel Bow River, live at Ringside Jimmy Barnes Lay down your guns OR Khe Sahn OR Working Class Man John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes When something is wrong with my baby, live on Hey Hey it's Saturday INXS and Jimmy Barnes, Good Times All epic, loved songs by us Aussies
This was Jimmy at 58. He released a song last year just after his 66th birthday called Soothe Me by Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore. Jimmy's voice is still incredible and Sam Moore is 86 and I was blown away by how good he sounds.
Great reaction.. I love listening to Jimmy barnes plus cold chisel. Jimmy has also done a lot of duets with people like Tina turner, Keith urban, INXS and of course John Farnham ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
Bow River 2003 ringside live is one of the best live performances ever. Jimmy with his band Cold Chisel is truly amazing. Ian Moss the lead guitarist is on lead vocals in this song and on a few others that Chisel produced. Mossy is a top notch guitar player and vocalist.
For more Australian great talent - *Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing, 'When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" at the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Awards) is brilliant. *The Teskey Brothers. live at the Forum singing, 'Hold Me'. * Tommy Emmanuel, one of the the greatest guitarists in the world, playing, 'Initiation'.
This version is from the album 30:30 Hindsight (2014) It is Jimmy's 15th solo studio album - his 26th solo album (including live albums) & he was 58 years old. The kid on drums is his son. It's not done in 1 take.....Jimmy "dancing" in the background he's wearing an orange shirt & the close up of him singing he's wearing a white shirt - also, around the 11:08 & 11:14 min marks Joe's strumming isn't on the sound track (which is editing - but - in a 1 take performance you wouldn't edit out his playing.)
Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia is a great singer too and she recorded a song with Joe Bonamassa-Riding with the Kings. Another great guitarist is Johnny Winter-he and his brother Edgar have an epic video. Edgar plays several instruments and does the vocals in Tobacco Road. Blues with a little jazz scatting!
Joe Bonamassa absolutely owns the blues/rock genre. He owns the record for the most number one albums (studio and live) on the Billboard blues/rock charts at 25.
if it has been said before, I apologize, but, ya'll might want to check out Barnes and Joe doing a cover of Deep Purple's tune Lazy, is amazing as well
Jimmy Barnes is one of our royalty....... he does hard rock, soul and the most beautiful duets with John Farnham....... he stopped the hard rock after having node issues...... until he learned how to sing without shredding his vocal chords........ he is also a person who visits childrens/adolescent wards in Australia....he is a true legend......
You were talking about how amazing they were because it was done in one take. You have to know every single person in that room is a consummate professional with decades of experience...
This is a love song to his wife...... he has struggled with alcoholism... his wife Jane put up with all of it.... xx this was to let her know, he loved her outside of that drunken 'I love you'.....
Just found this. I loved watching you guys get into the Jimmy groove as much as I loved hearing Jimmy at the top of his game; he's like a good red, gets better and better with age.
Tina Arena is also on backing vocals. You're right: it can't have been one take, since Jimmy wears both a white T-Shirt and a red one, during this recording.
Jimmy Barnes (Barnsey) has been around since the early 70s, is 67 now and still performing. I saw him a couple of weeks ago and he still lifts the roof off. You need to check out Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham (Farnsey) singing When something is wrong with my baby.
Jimmy is pushing 60 here. He has been performing since the mid 70's. A very successful stint with Cold Chisel till they split in 1983..reformed late 80s and then played together off and on for quite a while. He then had heaps of solo albums in several genres including blues as you can see. This is a very deep rabbit hole. GOOD LUCK 🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺
The whole of Jimmy Barnes family are really talented , Mahalia Barnes is Jimmy’s daughter, she often sings with her father. She has a lovely voice too.
G'day again guys👋👋 Glad you have dropped down the Jimmy Barnes goldmine too 👍🤘 As others will say you must do his duet with John Farnham & Diesel...Live! With Jimmy you have decades of solo stuff and also with Cold' Chisel. Also with Diesel you have heaps of hits too. Start off with 'Never Miss Your Water'..as Johnny Diesel & the Injectors ..from the 90s. Other hits are, 15 Feet of Snow, Cry in Shame, Tip of my Tongue & many more! Enjoy 🙂🙃 ✌️❤️ 🇦🇺
You must go down the Cold Chisel rabbit hole, they are one of the best bands you will ever see live on stage. Two live songs you must see from them are Bow River and a live remake of the song Wild Thing.
Jimmy and his large family and friends helped so many of us (particularly in Melbourne) through the extremely long lock down periods we had during COVID by having mini concerts/songs each night from their loungeroom broadcast, to keep us all from going mad. Jimmy and Cold Chisel have been an integral part of the soundtrack of my life.
Just revisiting this video because as an Australian, I LOVE Jimmy, and this is one of his best. Phil mentions Jimmy dancing away in the background, then says that he read somewhere this was done in one take. I don't know whether they mean the music or the video, but you can clearly see Jimmy's shirt changes in the video, so the video was NOT done in one take.
Jimmy's daughter (Mahalia Barnes) is a backing singer with Joe's band. She sings "Riding with the Kings" with Joe. Power vocals run in the Barnes family!!!
A little piece of trivia (which surprised me when I heard it) - Stone Cold was written by Don Walker. He played piano and keyboard with Cold Chisel from 1973 to 1983, when they disbanded.
5 of Jimmy's kids are in the music industry in some way. Check out Mahalia with Joe singer Riding With The Kings, Jimmy and David Campbell Carol's by Candlelight You'll Never Walk Alone . During Covid he and his family did mini concerts from home daily to help people coop. His wife Jane learned to play the guitar.
Please listen to Stan Walker - Thank You. He is from Aotearoa New Zealand my home. Stan wrote this beautiful song for his mother and all mothers. Jimmy Barnes is a legend much loved here in NZ
To see where Jimmy came from, try the rock classic 'You've got nothing I want' by Cold Chisel. This song came out of the band's first experiences with the US music industry. Let's just say Cold Chisel wasn't impressed. For the more 'bluesy' side, try Cold Chisel 'Bow River'. This stars both of Cold Chisel's lead singers, Ian Moss and Jimmy Barns and an amazing harmonica solo.
This is not the original as recorded by Jimmy for his 1993 solo album titled Heat. Jimmy was 58 yo in this video and is about 68 yo now, and still performing. His daughter Mahalia is one of Joe’s back up singers, so Jimmy was visiting Joe at his guitar ranch ( where Joe teaches guitarists how to play the blues ). Planned or purely impromptu, Joe organised his house band and some crew and they filmed this performance in Joe’s private recording studio. They also did a cover of Deep Purples Lazy..... another video worth experiencing. Ps:- Heat was only Jimmy’s 6th solo album but he did a lot more with Cold Chisel before they split in 1983.
Hi from North Queensland Australia. This is Jimmy's good boy side 😉 his bad boy side is legendary 😂 he is still my favourite live performance I've seen. It was 1985 Working Class Man tour, the best concert ever. Jimmy does all genres.
After you see Jimmy with John Farnham, you really need to see some of Johns concert Gigs back in the 80's and 90's he is known as the 'Voice' in Australia. and yes Joe is a true Rock Blues guitar legend!
I suggest Cold Chisel's Bow River (Ringside concert). It shows where Jimmy's roots came from. Cold Chisel were a blues/rock/pop band who created a following from playing pubs and clubs night after night.
I was watching a young Jimmy singing "Forever Now" with Cold Chisel and am amazed at his career. This is a banger. Honestly - what male vocalist can come close to this?
Hello guys, I wonder if you'd like to check out another southern blues rock band, if so, then give this one a listen. "The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post 9/23/1970 - Fillmore East (Official)" this is blues rock at its finest (IMhO) --The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock band formed in Jacksonville Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman (founder, slide guitar, lead guitar), Gregg Allman(founder, lead vocals, keyboard, primary songwriter), as well as, Dickey Betts(lead guitar, vocals, songwriting), Barry Oakley(bass), Butch Trucks(drums), "Jaimoe" Johanson(drums). Sadly, we lost Duane Allman at the tender age of 24 yrs. old to a motorcycle accident in 1971. But we are very blessed to have his beautiful music to listen too. RIP: Duane Allman 💔🔥🎸U R Missed
If you liked this watch Jimmy barnes Joe bonamassa lazy amazing music like jam session Cold chisel wild thing live performance last stand version This is them as youngsters and guitar 🎸 player is second singer in band as good You'll see he's guitar work in this but other his sings in as lead Jimmy did a song with Tina Turner simply the best duo Cheers guys 🦘🇦🇺👍
G'day Guys! Yes he does have a large catalogue but you might look at some tracks from Cold Chisel like Flame Trees or Khe Sanh... I might also suggest a look at Midnight Oil another great Aussie band with "Beds are Burning." Cheers!
Jimmy Barnes has so many great songs, it's hard to know where to start with recommendations. Maybe the next could be Cold Chisel's live cover of "Wild Thing", so you can see him when he was a young and wild rocker rather than an older and calmer soul singer. But trust me, whatever you pick, it's a good rabbit hole to go down
Great reaction, Jimmy Barnes solo or with Cold Chisel have such a huge catalogue of great songs it's hard to know what to recommend first, try Bow River or Khe Sanh
Jimmy and Ian Moss were both the singers in Cold Chisel. Check out mossy killing it at the ringside tour, doing his Georgia live. Not on the playlist, epic anyway. Jimmy responded to the us record execs, in song, You've got nothin' I want.
Folks, great reaction to Jimmy Barnes, if you're sticking with him, I would highly recommend from his live album barnestorming SEVEN DAYS a real rocker to get the feet tapping and the heads banging. Take care.
Firstly great reaction. Defo legend no doubt. Jimmy's voice in his twilight years. The man's sound is do much more. Can't wait to see your future Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes content from their past because you're only tapping the surface. God luck finding the right version of each that everyone loves for each reaction channel to do and thank you so much Jimmy Barnes ruclips.net/video/RiDCl8rqQ_Y/видео.html waiting for the heartache
It must have been two takes. When you see Jimmy in the back ground when Joe is playing his shirt is a pink colour. But when the close up of Jimmy singing his shirt is white. Grew up on Jimmy and Cold Chisel
Solo Working Class Man or any of the Cold Chisel classics... Goodbye Astrid Breakfasts at Sweethearts, Bow River even "You an't got nothing I want" which is about how the band got messed about by US recording Execs during a US tour.
Jimmy’s got pipes. He does a really good version of The Easybeats. Good Times with Keith Urban. It’s on RUclips. It’s worth a check out also check out to kasamba cold chisel. He’s got a great blues voice but my opinion he’s at his best when he belts.
Elcome from Australia . You haven't heard John Farnham Live until you review His No1 Uptempo sensational Live performance. Song called " REASONS". If you YOU TUBE search the following you will find it . Search >>>>>> John Farnham - Reasons (High Quality)
Great reaction 👌 I'd like to see you guys do one on the song Little Darling by Jimmy, also Flame Trees & khe sahn by Cold Chisel, a band Jimmy was the lead singer in pls.
John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes duet of "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby" is tremendous. Cannot miss it!

For young Jimmy do "Wild Thing" live and for middle-age Jimmy do "Bow River" live 2003 - both with Cold Chisel. Just amazing!
Wild Thing shows Jimmy at his drunken best, no doubt, but for early Chisel the best true Jimmy is more like Goodbye Astrid or Forever Now tbh
@@ray.shoesmith "breakfast at sweethearts" is a great early chisel song showing young jimmy
Fellow Aussie here!
Both great suggestions and MUST-DO's!
Jimmy Barnes with Tina Turner "simply the best"...he was so nervous, he said Tina was his idol for years, she said don't worry i will make you look good!!!.....
If you watch some of Joe’s live shows you will see Jimmy’s daughter singing backup. She kills it as well.
Thanks for that insight..I knew Reece Wynans, formerly of SRV and Double Trouble, the keyboardist, is now with Joe, but now can check out Jimmy Barnes Granddaughter, on back up vocals. Joe is the real deal!
@@johnathanstruble1064 Her name is Mehalia Barnes, try 'Riding with Kings', she's got some killer vocals in that one.

Joe and Jimmy doing the Deep Purple classic song Lazy is a great version!!! Arlyn's keyboards are fantastic.
Great reaction.. I love listening to Jimmy barnes plus cold chisel. Jimmy has also done a lot of duets with people like Tina turner, Keith urban, INXS and of course John Farnham ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
And Josh Tesky

Heard Riding with the Kings? Mahalia and Joe, good song.

I’ve been lucky enough to see Jimmy and Cold Chisel live, several times over the years including recently. They have always put on one hell of a show.
It's great to see you reacting to Jimmy Barnes
By far one of the best reactions to this song.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Joe Bonamassa absolutely owns the blues/rock genre. He owns the record for the most number one albums (studio and live) on the Billboard blues/rock charts at 25.

Yes, I've been waiting for this, John and Joe are super. 100% soul vocal and guitar.
Listen to the song "Too Much Ain't Enough Love." Jimmy is singing, and Joe Bonamassa is playing guitar. Awesome.
He originally had a hit with that one in 1987 with Neal Schon (Journey) on guitar

Just found this. I loved watching you guys get into the Jimmy groove as much as I loved hearing Jimmy at the top of his game; he's like a good red, gets better and better with age.
Don Walker keyboards player from Cold Chisel wrote this one and gave it to Jimmy to sing knowing he’d do it proud! 😂❤
This was done in two takes not one. Jimmy’s son is on drums and one of his daughters is on backup vocals.
