- Last week, 'OU812' turned 35!
Sammy: "When It's Love" was the first song we wrote and recorded for OU812. It was the first single and it was a top-five hit. certainly one of my favorite love songs of all time, I can't tell you how many fans have said they played it at their wedding.

I honestly think they were at their peak in 95!! I mean man Eddie was on another level completely! Sober and sharp as ever . Can’t get enough of his playing or tone from this time period .dirty , but clean and cutting at the same time .

Alex needs more praise. He is one of the greatest rock drummers to date. I hold him up ther with Neil, Bonzo, etc. One of the best of the best ever!!!

I can only imagine the pristine tapes you guys have at home and in the vault. This recording is SUPERB. Bass is a little quiet in the mix, but everything is spectacular. I would pay for releases like this without a doubt.
God this song is more relevant today then when it came out.

Best show I've seen in years. They may be getting up there in age, but you'd never know it as they performed.

I was lucky enough to be at this show! Whatever problems there might have been behind closed doors stayed there. VH tore it up that night! Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw "Shaw/Blades"" were the surprise opener! Brad Gillis came out for a couple of tunes as well. Epic night.

Thanks for sharing the video and keep the stories coming. Tell us about how you wrote Bad Motor Scooter and what was going through your mind at the time. Or you could talk about working with the HSAS crew and the making and writing of that great album "Through the Fire" I thought hat was cool to see and listen to Kenny AAronson on that album. He used to play with one of my all time favorite musicians, Rick Derringer. Do you have any stories from the seventies about talking with Rick Derringer? Anyway, through the fire is a kick ass album that kind of fell through the cracks. Thanks for all the great music Sammy!!!

the 5150 tour they taped was by far the best preformance. Sammy's energy is just depleted here. Ofcourse during that time I didn't noticed and thought we was increadible during every album. Keep in mind his solo career was coming to an end and wanted to take a long break then Van Halen called. How he did it is beyond me.
Do grateful to Sammy as Van Hagar was Van Halen ,10,000 golden stars for this concert ,I was there to enjoy this showb❤😊
