I feel the Kfir has been quite misrepresented from release, not trying to throw shade at anybody specific, but I haven't seen a Kfir video highlighting these capabilities.

Since I feel somewhat addressed:
A point that I might have had to make a bit more nuanced.
You get kills in this thing by forcing people slow very often because the gun's are just not it and the missiles are defeated pretty easily.
At say 4-6km when you are going mach 1.4 you are not very likely to get many gun kills. Even in the head on where you might pick up a few. Going head on with a phantom which out ranges you completely with a Vulcan isn't the best course of action. You won't really be able to slow down until late game. Especially at altitude making you essentially dead weight in the team at that very moment. I think we can both agree on the fact that late game in top tier is basically game over because it's likely going to be 8v1. So you need to be there to support your team, your team will very likely be mowing the lawn and with a plane like this furballs are your friend. I feel like this play style is more effective if you have a good team/a squad to play with.
I do agree that the speed and altitude in ideal situations like that first game you had is an extremely powerful tool, but I think that the power of this thing is so situational in that regard that it's a very solid case of "man I wish I was doing the other thing right now" when you get killed doing the other. In the end it's largely preference I think.
On the new bigger maps this will be the method I will use to fly it, but quite frankly I only get those damn maps when I am in a 7.0 -_-
Also the 9Gs on the F-4J have a 4G overload warning, truly fantastic.
On the video itself I have not much to add other than some opinion based stuff I stand by my play style in this plane but I will most likely direct people to this video if it isn't working out for them
I definitely can agree on that second paragraph about wishing to have done 1 method over the other. I tried to illustrate that in 19:29-20:36 but I probably should've acknowledged other possible methods more frequently in the video, I just wanted to emphasize this one because this is the one I prefer, and the one that I haven't seen anybody really showcase. I'm not here to attack anybody, especially not those who are actually good at the game and have the experience to back up what they say. I felt the need to highlight that dodging SARHs is very possible and really quite easy when flying the plane in this particular way at altitude and speed because I had watched *many* videos of people claiming otherwise, and I wanted to bring the option to light. I did feel I heard something along those lines from your vid, but you're really not the kind of CC I'm referring to when discussing my gripes with how people make content on these jets, I think you already know the types of people I'm talking about. Anyway, thanks for coming in and offering a second input, as you said - much of it is opinions.
Edit: I did notice the F4J has a pathetic 4G load limit on launch. I didn't mention this when I said the AIM9G doesn't have any load limits because I believe it to be a bug on the F4J or something gaijin has been too lazy to fix. I mentioned it in the bugs section of the CC discord, but I may just be uninformed and look like a fool :P

It's hard with planes that are as new and different as this as there aren't many people I can ask for feedback let alone feedback I actually trust. It's easy to tunnel vision and forget stuff because of it.
Unfortunately that's a fair chunk of content creators especially the ones that try to get out day 1 content. But I also can't fault them for it. It's a plane most people won't do well in. It's hard to find a working playstyle for it when you don't have everything in your toolbox to make it work yet. Their community wants to see it and they're almost forced to play it.
On the win rates and stuff, while yes you can't impact the game as much. The teams right now are god awful. I got a 57% in both this and the F4J. That's comparable to the MiG-23M on release week. By far the lowest on my entire account. And I think we can agree on how trash that thing was before any of the buffs + the teams were just something else.

The 4g load on the 9g will be removed soon from what I heard and f4j is not the best jet, it has the best bvr missile but the key role the f4j plays is not how good it is but how high it is in numbers ,there's gonna be 10 f4j in every single match after a week while the enemy team has like 4 fgr and 4 mld and bis n stuff like that .

Glad to see someone who knows what they are talking about fly this jet correctly. This channel is a breath of fresh air when it comes to top tier jet reviews and gameplay. Saw bunch of the other reviews and couldn’t help but cringe when they said you are aim7 food when flying this plane. Like bro they are constantly dogfighting and dropping below mach .5 to get 1 kill on their gameplay… like do these youtubers know how to fly top tier at all??
I mean, back when the F-104S was still 10.3 I saw a few videos saying it was not competitive and hard to get kills with, basically one guy couldn't get an Ace with it, and I bagged like 3 in a relatively easy way. Doesn't mean he didn't know what he was talking about, it's just their opinion. Maybe it's just not their fav plane at all.

@@hemendraravi4787 DEFYN is definitely a beast at the game and I certainly recommend watching, but he also said the Kfir can't dodge sparrows and should be played at low altitude lol. I do want to restate that he is very good at the game and has a lot of material to learn from, even if I disagree with some of the things he says about top tier jets.
@@SeekerHead the low altitude part , I kinda disagree with him there too but the thing with sparrows is I launch aim7e2 at 15km , the kifir won't see a missile coming it's way as it will only get an rwr warning so idk what it can really do u can use ur chaff but u will waste flares .
@@hemendraravi4787 You don’t have to have the plane spotted to get the missile indicator on your screen. At 15km, you only have to turn a single direction, it would be a foolish launch. I can show you in custom if you’d like. RWR exists for a reason. Just watch in the direction of RWR and the indicator will pop up on launch whether they’re spotted or not.
Funnily enough, the Kfir C7 should in fact feature a radar set with full LDSD/Doppler capabilities.

The kifir actually had a much better radar irl, with pulse doppler even, but gaijin fucked up, and instead of the Elta EL/M-2021B, the gave it the Elta EL/M-2001B which is a ranging radar., also when it gets python 3's (in the future when other nations get aim9l's etc), i imagine it's going to be coser to the meta.
A photograph of a Kfir C-7 was posted on the forums with the nose off clearly showing a EL/M-2001B. That said the EL/M-2001B was much more capable than what is shown in-game at the time of writing. It was a fixed (no sweep) tracking radar with a narrow emitting beam and range of 5km. The radar was able to track multiple targets and slave missiles to the selected target. Additionally it was pulse doppler & thus was able to ignore a significant amount of ground clutter. Tl;dr it would be like a "ranging radar on crack". Fun fact : Both Kfir C.7 and F-4E Kurnass are 1980s jet as now on their own configuration featured in the game. Which means : Kfir C.7 can have potential of having Python-3 missile&F-4E Kurnass must have Python-3 replacing AIM-9P.
The annoying part is, if Gaijin fixed the damage model for the ADEN, akan and DEFA, the 30mm cannons would arguably be some of the best in the game once given enough practice, but for whatever reason their 89g of TNT equivalent and the fact that it has the properties and energy that comes with a round of that size, seemingly always produce 'hit'. This shit should eviscerate ANYTHING it even so much as grazes. They *should* be hard to use but have high reward. It's just silly.
I literally just had a match earlier today in the Jag A where I hit a 23MF TWICE with HE shells and it did nothing. Not even a hit. I thought he flew in between the tracers, but when I went back into the replay, both shots were right down the spine. I could tell it was an HE round because it literally blew up on him.
The ADEN/akan/DEFA damage model is bassically just hisparko 2.0 they're incredibly hit or miss literally the sheer number of times you get instances where the planes just seep to fly through your shells and nothing happens and its not just because they tend to be mounted further apart from eachother on the aircraft their on they should be crippling planes with ease when compared to the gsh-23 eventhough it should be a good bit weaker every time I tap somebody with one of those they die with next to not (hit) problems like the ADENs or even the m61 at times
@@ballzdeep6974 Gsh-23-2 is a bitch to aim but at least when it connects the enemy will just explode. ADEN/DEFA/Akan are both hard to aim and do no damage.

@@cristobalalvarez5491 Every day the star tasks reset (you can check exact time on the WT site), you have to win 5 times in air battles (with a certain minimum activity) to get that star for the day. Do this 12 times before the end date (check WT site) and you got yourself access to the Israel air beta test.
Also maybe good to know: the F-4E is a copy of the US F-4E really, the line itself is probably worth it (as it can get the Kurnass 2000 in the future, similar to the EJ kai I guess). But the F-4E itself in the current meta is outclassed. The Kfir C7 on the other hand isn't as good as the F-4E perhaps in the current meta but it is more future proof. In the future it can get muuuuuuuch better missiles and you wouldn't need to research a complete new aircraft (saves you some grinding time later). It's kinda of like the F-5E right now, but faaaast, however it lacks the killing ability like the F-5E.

When your Aim-9Gs lock the wrong thing, you can reset their lock by pressing the lock missile button once and the missile will still be cooled down so you can fire it once you get proper lock.

7:30 You can unlock a target by pressing the seeker warm-up key (forget what it's called) and then move the circle over the correct target. No need to completely turn off the seeker and wait for it to start up again.
it supprises me how many videos iv seen of people who dont realise this is a thing. i only found out accidently after fiddling around with my controls.
is funny to watch people trying to "wrestle" the seeker off the wrong target sometimes though

Most content creators are just average players but in thier minds they are the best pros out there cause they have fans
8:30 if your missile locks something else than what you want to lock press the bind that you have that warms up the seekers, as it will unlock that target instead of turning it off if you're already locked onto something.
This jet being good or not, its just wins by the looks of it, so beautiful
The Kfir feels crazy fast but... imagine when we start getting 4th gen fighters that make a hell of a lot more thrust and have less drag. The Kfir feels fast... what's the F-16A gonna feel like? And then the F-15, which is even faster? I could only imagine.
There's a noticeable performance power creep in wt. This kfir c7 in wt accelerates as fast as a near empty clean F15 in dcs. I'd argue every top tier jet is a bit higher performing than the real one rn.
If they keep this up 4th gen fighters are going to be absolute ufos
@@appa609 I think that is just the nature of the game, even in realistic mode. War thunder will always be a little arcadey no matter the mode simply because it makes the game more enjoyable for most.

In the Manga Area 88 they also flew the Kfir at high altitudes and they have bvr missiles too
That's what got me interested in the Kfir. Apparently the yellow and black triangle markings that they have in the anime were used on a few real Israeli Kfirs.

There’s a lad called Tom Gama and in most of his videos he uses the Kfir C.7 and he showed the raw power of the Kfir by wining a 1v5 saving both his team and getting an ace.

I'm not saying you shouldnt make videos to educate people, but I suddenly got a lot more scared flying my f4j after spitflyer clapped me in the kfir yesterday, most people dont know how to fly this thing at all, but holy shit. Seeing this thing behind you at altitude and the RAW closure is something to behold.
Very informative video seeker! The Kfir is on par with the F-16/79 IRL, so IDK what they've done to it to make people think its bad. It really needs its Radar lead indicator, and the HMD for the Rafael Pythons.

Also, the explanation for having a radar, it made me laugh since I find it hilarious that some people still don’t know how to retarget the missile seeker without turning it off

Never seen a video of yours but I refused to believe that this plane was bad because frankly I love the Mirages (the planes themselves, not in WT bc I legitimately hate them in this game) and I was fascinated with this plane when I learned the engine it had. Needless to say, I really liked this video. Certainly not going to buy the A4 or grind Israel for it but it definitely gives me hope that France might see a good Mirage yet.
I must say though, the thing I've noticed is that not necessarily everyone says it's bad or not good.. its just that it doesn't fit the meta. I still hella want it though bc I love broken performing planes 🤣 (I still reminisce about the 1.35 Meteor F.4s)

This vid still holds true. I circle like an eagle at 30,000ft altitude and at Mach 1.7......it's crazy how fast enemies get energy trapped trying to reach you. Currently doing this in the c2. About to unlock c7 and waiting for the pythons.👍🏾👍🏾

btw, pressing the lock button when locked onto something, it will reset the lock, not turn it off.

You can reset the seaker head of any missile by pressing your missile lock button (yes you should bind one)

I will just point out one thing. I am not sure if its modelled correctly in WT but in real life from what i understand (and you can see in DCS also) is that missiles of all kinds perform way better on high altitudes where there is low air density. Classical defensive maneuver of modern jets is to actually run away opposite the missile and dive as low as you can.
this is modeled in war thunder, but the missiles are so weak the kfir will out energy them by having such insane high altitude performance compared to everything else. DCS and especially real life are irrelevant to WT
@@SeekerHead Yea, I suppose. Also modern jet tactics for the cases i explained are against fox3 missiles that are mostly used on grater ranges and WT RB is mostly acm ranges so i suppose its different.

I think the point most people were trying to get across is that overall and mostly due to its loadouts being sub-par the Kfir wasn't the most competitive jet, where having good/great missiles and all is more important than performance. Nonetheless, great idea to point out the strong points of the Kfir. Let's just hope people don't go bashing each other for a difference in opinions.
With phrases like “don’t climb” and “you cannot dodge sparrows” there’s a gross misrepresentation of the kfir within the community, even if the overall point is accurate of it being all performance without any killing power.
@@SeekerHead Thing is, they're probably trying to give a review for the average War Thunder player. While it's true it doesn't represent the plane well, going fast at altitude to avoid Sparrows isn't something most people are looking for in a plane, even though it's a very valid tactic.
I remenber watching this video back when the kfir c7 came out, bought the prem a4e instantly after watching it and grinded the whole israeli tree to get the kfir. 100% worth it. Got 500 matches played in it, 70% win rate 242 death and 890 kills (i never play in a squadron) i adore this thing, it's soooo fast you truly (almost) don't need flares it's such a nice change of pace from other top tier, i strugle to play anything else now lmao, I'm addicted to it's speed

@@sheeesssh646 stock it's not that great but at least now you got the 2 aim9d stock so it's finee, spaded with 4aim 9 g's it's quite deadly, what you need to know about top tier is that if you're on the ennemy 6 and they don't know you're there, that's a kill for you. You need to play the c7 as a stealth aircraft, go fast and high (super easy thanks to it's amazing engine performance) and go behind the ennemy at the start of the match at about 6000meters, then you roll back around with a slight dive and pick your targets, you want to pick ppl that aren't yet diving to the furrball and seem to have not noticed you. Launch an aim 9g from 4 to 6km aways and go climb back up to like 5-6km. i've managed to hit multiple times 2000+kph in small maps (but usualy go at 1600kph) and constantly managed to hit 2000+kph on rb ec maps. All of that without forcing myself to try to reach those speeds whereas in any other top tier you'll have to actively try to maintain your energy and not turn to hope to reach 1600kph and let's not even talk about 2000, the small maps are to small for other planes to reach those speed ahah. so yeah, go fast and high and uses the aim 9g long range to hit faraway targets without being noticed. the aim 9g are kinda the best missile you could hope for in this aircraft, they pull a decent ammount but the incredible range really bring this plane to life.

I'm still unsure about the performance of the jet. It has a similar but inferior T/W ratio to the UK Phantoms, and that's taking into account the J1E engine that it's fitted with (18,750 lbs). It's supersonic performance is too good, like F-16C with a GE engine good. I expect it to still be insane, but also that it will be slightly nerfed in the future.
That said I'm a huge fan of the jet, and I totally plan to grind the entire tree just for this, even if they nerf it in the future. I also expect that with that it will get better missiles with that engine nerf, likely in the form of a python or newer aim9.
The TW is a very inaccurate stat. It’s TW in very specific situations, as the stat changes throughout the flight
@@SeekerHead that is very true, but it's still overperforming a wee bit, at the very least in the high altitude supersonic range.
I think a nice change that would be realistic is the decrease in engine power, but give it better missiles in the form of a newer sidewinder or even Python missiles. Realistic but more meta.

@@SeekerHead this is true. I wished they changed it this patch. It's true that it wasn't until all aspect seekers that flare resistance really came into play, but this is ridiculous. It should take at least 5 pumps of flares to distract an R60, let alone a J.
I also agree that the DEFA's need a buff. Those are 30mm. A single bullet should create a critical hit.

I really have hated air rb since they added all the ground targets and have them all lit up. I think it was 1.77 or 1.79. Now at all battle ratings no one climbs. And prop dogfights are dead now since everyone just grinds 5 ground targets then dies in a head on.
This plane is all about performance. The MLD is a great balance of performance and weaponry. To be honest I think this plane is just misused and misunderstood by many players.

Can the mld be played in a similar way?
No, It bleeds speed too much at high altitude because of its full wing sweep position absolutely shitting energy at any touch of the key. The Kfir will get to high mach numbers way faster, and keep them throughout key taps to manuver.
U can climb to space n fire r24(ir one ) from 10km but ur enemy has to be below u once u run out r24s u can do so etching else or fly it like u do usually

I always tell people I rarely use countermeasures in TT aside from sparrow combat. They don't believe me and say "But you need them to dodge R-60's and Magics". I respond to them with a simple "Not when I'm almost never below mach 1 and almost always above them" If you have the speed and altitude advantage over your opponent, then it doesn't matter if he is flying an F-4EJ Kai, Mig-23MLD, JA-37C, or Mirage. If you have those two things, you have the ability to dictate the fight in ways they can't counter.
It depends on what altitude tho if I'm at 6000m and ur at 10000m my missile will still hit u but it will miss if I'm at 2000m n ur at 5000m the higher u go the worse it is , better to stay at 5000m as missile range doubles or even triples at 8000m+
Speed has more to do with it than altitude, I think this is demonstrated quite well in the video. People launching Missile at my Kfir going mach 1.2+ at just 3km from behind me, at 6000m and their missile doesnt even come close.

@@hemendraravi4787 They were launching both fox 1 and 2s. It doesn’t matter so long as I’m paying attention. At 1.4 I just have to crank a tad left or right after the missile is done burning, and it will shed too much speed to reach me. They definitely can reach greater distances at altitude, but that is if somebody is just flying straight, or is slow. But usually with altitude comes speed for jets, extremely so with the kfir, and it makes it very easy to dodge every 6 o’clock launch

Now that I think about it the j7e might just be a better kifir it has decent acceleration , pl5b which have more range than 9g and it barely bleeds speed when u turn.
the Kfir should make any J7E absolutely shit themselves. I don't agree with that statement at all, and the Pl5 having more range than the G is just factually incorrect.

@@SeekerHead yo j7e beats the kifir in a dogfight, I tried it in a custom battle with a guy who has wayy better stats than me ,so I don’t think it’s skill issue . We can 1v1 aswell but I may lose to u (I’m not a pro or anything ) but if u get ur hands on the j7e u will understand me.
@@hemendraravi4787 Well of course, in unfair unrealistic fights the Kfir will lose to a lot of things 1v1. F5E, Mig23 MLD, MiG23M, and the J7E. That is of course only if you create bullshit rules such as no leaving the fight and forcing them to keep turning at low speeds. The Kfir literally cannot die in a real 1v1, it can come and go from fights at will, regardless of if they have missiles or not. If it's looking bad for the Kfir, it simply runs away and resets. Something that isn't taken into account in 1v1 customs.
Taking away the radar is historically inaccurate. The Kfir C2 had an excellent Elta EL/M radar.
The kfir is just a baby f15 with medium range fox-2s. Play like that

It’s significantly faster than the bis at super sonic speeds, even pre nerf. Additionally, it bleeds speed significantly less when control inputs are applied at super sonic speeds. There’s been nothing like it ever, and especially so in current WT (which is all that matters anyway when saying something is matched or unmatched)
@@SeekerHead Significantly faster? The Bis has a higher thrust to weight with the Kfir weighing ~1.5 tons heavier with only ~1.2 ton more KGF. Its not because the bis looses more speed when doing slight turns or when fully turning that Kfir C7 is faster

US airforce f16 of all variants didnt use sparrows ( yeah for a looong ass time i thought they did too) air national guard f16a were upgraded to use sparrows though. I thought the same thing as well this is basically what were gonna see with the f16a but it will have better sustained turn and 6 aim 9J instead of G.

the harrier will only out accelerate it to 600 kmh, thats not even a fighting speed at top tier. After that it isn't even close
and thats ZERO - 600. As in taking off. If they're both already air Bourne, the harrier wont beat it at any speed. It simply gets off the ground faster
