Fr it can easily beat anything in game in a dogfight, it has no competition it needs to be nerfed in some way. It also has the best SARH missiles and best radar in game, it is unbeatable.

Ho-229 is even better, it's a stealthy UFO that turns on a whim. If you need missiles to kill people it's a big skill issue.
For me the r60m is really good simply because every missile in the game can be one flared at the moment so it doesn’t matter
It sacrifices range for better maneuverability and tracking at short range.
Literally cap I’ve had 9Ls hit flaring targets without burner from side aspect while going towards the sun. And for some reason ever since sky guardians update they’ve been more consistent with the flare resistance

I've played the MiG29 and the MiG23 extensively and I can't stand playing the MiG29, it might just be me but it's just so awkward to fly, and the MiG23 just feels alot better

Imo the R-60/60M hate is warrented. It has some of the worst range of any of the IR missiles, I've hit 9E's at longer range, gets flared just as easy as a 9E, and the bore sight is really small while the seeker FOV is quite large making it grab shit you don't want, making it hard to even use the HMS with them.
They're not the worst missiles but they're not exactly great, and as I said, I feel the hate is warrented, I've never had a good time with them besides when they were introduced and pretty OP.
Still pulls harder than any sidewinder in the game.

pretty much all the missiles are very easily flared anymore so i’d rather have the superior kinematic performance. The close range capability of it is a clear advantage over the aim9s and especially the Gs and Hs. It’s range isn’t that bad, it’s further than a magic 2. you’re just spoiled by navy missiles probably lol. but again, the 60M clears the 9H and G in terms of maneuverability and ofc it’s front aspect

@@SeekerHead idk why but the 9Ls have actually had good flare resistance for me recently, and it’s odd for me tbh. The range on the 9L is nice tho, I mean I wouldn’t say it’s essential at all but if used at the right time can lead to some fun kills. For me the 9Ls have been way more reliable, I think it really comes to preference but objectively speaking of which one is better, I’d say the 9L. The R-60M really does just go for cigarette ashes it’s been bugging me for a while

I've killed them with my F-104 TAF before
I throw chaff all over and try and goad them into head on and pull negative g because no one seems to remember you can do that
Half the time I shoot them down with my Harriers Aim-9ls because they didn't notice me above them, the other half the time I fly around like a brain damaged bird trying not to die until my team shows up to help...then I remember which game I am playing as his teammates show up after obliterating my team and I die anyways.

But yea I definitely agree the 29 is the best in the game currently. The ER is just absolutely cracked and having a 29 on your six is inevitable death, especially if no one else is around to help you. Too bad I suck with it bc the stock grind is hella rough.

Aren’t the Ru fulcrum and Ger fulcrum literally the same thing? the only difference im aware of is the German one being a little lighter

it's not just because you can't shoot it at an enemy who is aware of you,
but because you can't even shoot it at an enemy who is focusing entirely on a friendly,
because when they fire one of their missiles at your friendly,
your missile will go after THAT missile.
did you wait for the enemy to fire their missile before firing yours?
congrats! he is now flying through the flares your teammate just dropped, and now your missile will follow those!

If the enemy is relaxed after a lock you can easily get 50km range kills with r27ERs at around 8-10km altitude

the TWS is really slow and doesnt follow the target properly but other than that its amazing.
One problem though: gaijin really messed up HE damage this game. I've literally had R-27ERs hitting a target right in the face(or at least exploding) but not even get a "hit" indication. thats just ridiculous and gaijin has to fix it

Been having a lot of fun dogfighting mig 29s in ground RB in my f16A, most of them don't know I can outrage them on the deck, and since the new f16 flight model I havnt died in a 1v1, and most 1v2 dogfights
Yes the F-16 was designed from the onset to be rage fighter. US Naval aviators who primarily fly the F-16 aboard flying aircraft carriers call it the Raging Wyvern.

Dont know whats wrong but if i fire a r27er1 it starts and flies straight to the target for about 1km , then goes hard left , right , up or down .... even while the radarlock ist still active it just gets lost . Tried at ranges from 2-8 Km , 10 missiles fired , 10 missiles went somewhere else . In every case the radartarget was still locked.

I don’t even think the aim7 has more range than the 27er. The er is a heckin beast and I can’t remember ever getting a 40+km kill with the sparrow. Meanwhile I’ve set my own pb at 45 km kill with the 27er. Big maps do be fun for for top tier.
7F/M definitely has more range. I have access to a side by side custom mission to launch both missiles at the same time. However, within 25km the ER is going to hit first every time.
@@SeekerHead At 10km altitude ERs engine gives it much better energy retention and now they loft really well. So you can get 50km range kills if you don't get notched of course. That's all I do since the patch dropped. I climb over the airfield lock a guy at 30-50km fire and snipe them.
it doesn’t matter what altitude you’re at, if you put the sparrow at equal altitude, it still out ranges the ER
I've gotten multiple 40+km kills with 7F/Ms on the large maps, you have to aim it up as far as the gimbal will allow to loft it in. It also heavily depends on your target being brain dead and ignoring the RWR
Hey Seek, is it possible to have notched the aircraft but not the missile? I think this only works with fox 3s right? Could this mean that we'll get them in the next update? Either way if you don't 90 chaff I find that notching doesn't work well anymore

offcourse in the first days the F-16 could Challenge it, Warthunder cant have that so 1-2 weeks of buffs and now nothing has a chance against it when its played right.

you can disagree all you want but the objective facts are the facts 😂. Stronger thrust to weight than anything, higher top speed than anything, better turn radius than most everything (especially when combined with a bit of air brake), and a better rate than anything but the F16. Idk what close range hud mode is all ab i’ve never heard it

@@SeekerHead i constantly play it in sim and if you dont kill f16s at long range the last chance you have is guns. miss that and its done, you can never get an f16 off your tail. whats on paper doesnt always translate the same to experience

I use a custom lang folder. Yak-41 is what they would’ve called it as a production model, and the one we have in game would be a production model, so the guy who made the lang pack changed it to that.

Does the mig29 have thrust vectoring? Or is it another russian plane?
That’s later versions of the SU-27 series; SU-30, SU-35, and their respective minor versions. The MiG-35 (modernized variant of the MiG-29) might but I’m not 100% sure. Either way, the MiG-29 9.12a and 9.13 which we have in WT do not have thrust vectoring and neither will the initial versions of the “Flanker” series (SU-27 and SU-33).
@@thomaswhalen3703 the MiG-35 has it, but it's optional. There was a thrust vectoring MiG-29, called the MiG-29OVT. It was only experimental though.
I usually play tank but I quit this game after unlocked mig 21 and 23 with r60m. Hated it so much never want to play this game again

personally the 27-er never works for me. They stop tracking and the seeker is so wonky and it goes all over the place

It is incredible for me. I climb to 10km and snipe with it. Works very well. Lock the guy and watch their speed vector in the radar, if they start notching immediately don't bother but if they do not care, fire the missile, drop the lock for 5-10 seconds and relock. Or sometimes you can just keep the lock. You can get kills up to 50km range with it.

the german one is a bit worse, the engines are a bit downtuned because soviet union exports only slightly worse stuff at best
The only difference about the flight model is the german one is 500kg lighter in fuel. So it’s actually technically better than the soviet in WT

@@SeekerHead the f14 outrates the mig29 easily on the deck. So if you get into a dogfight against a good f14 pilot, the best option is to run away because of mig29 superior acceleration.
@@HighRiskV No it doesn't, sub 340 KTS. range the MiG-29 obliterates the Tomcat, it turns tighter _and_ faster, unless the Tomcat maintains an absolutely perfect rate and never once messes up his geometry once a offensive MiG-29 will almost always beat the Tomcat in the 2C, flat or not.
@@HighRiskVObviously forcing a 2C usually means you're defensive as well, since most of the time you're establishing a defensive rate, in that particular instance your chances of beating a good Fulcrum pilot who knows his cues, and can establish effective offsets will essentially never lose.
Helps to note, if the Fulcrum pilot has an expert or ace crew while in a HST on deck with the Tomcat within the 400-580 kts. range it still wins in the 2C assuming they are both maintaining the same pitch/degrees per second.
@@SeekerHead When a friend and I tested both aircraft using our regular combat loads the F-14 was able to hold an edge over the 29 after the first circle when it starts unfolding its wings. After that its almost guaranteed victory for the F-14 unless they make a mistake or the MiG disengages to "reset" the fight

The mig29 got buffed and the f16 nerfed in the patch, now the fulcrum is better both bvr wise and in close range

1. assuming you mean IR missiles, the aim9L is better at range but has worse short range performance as it weighs twice as much with similar maneuvering fin performance.
2. launching a misile at the absolute maximum range is stupid, the aim7f is slightly better in range and loses this advantage when closing the gap just a little more because of the speed of the 27-ER
3. wrong (proof at 4:03 he pulls 12-13 gs at 1100kph)
as the r27 ER flys, it slows down as long as the engine isn't burning. it will rarely reach mach 5.8 and the longer the missile is in the air the more degrees per second it can turn. also, 30g missiles don't turn like 20g missiles when going fast. they turn at 30gs.
The F-16 and MiG-29 have just about the same flight performance, the MiG-29 will win most of the time though simply because it's low speed handling is insane.
