I heard in a RUclips video by ScreenPrism that Ravenclaw isn't necessarily cleverness and book smarts but the ability to think in a way that is outside the box to solve problems through unconventional means. Which actually makes quite a bit of sense when you think about why Luna is a Ravenclaw and Hermione isn't.
Yeah, I’m actually a Ravenclaw and I totally agree, like I’m not the smartest girl, but people in Ravenclaw are also very creative! And I’m definitely also creative
Ravenclaws, since they are clever, also tend to be a bit narcissistic. That's why when you have to pick an object (a mirror, sword, scroll, dagger, etc), the Ravenclaw choice is the mirror
Also Ravenclaws aren't just about being clever. It's also about being open minded, artistic and free. There's a reason why Luna Lovegood is in Ravenclaw and Hermione Granger isn't.
Well that's because she was a hatstall, the Sorting hat agonized for 4 minutes whether to sort her into Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, but felt that she was a better suit for Gryffindor traits. So if you think about it, Hermione might have been sorted into Ravenclaw if there were no such thing as Godric Gryffindor.
@Pepper mint She may hate rule breaking but when it comes to her friends being in danger or over all for the greater good she is outright a Griffendore.
Yes but no all ravenclaw don't think records are necessary I am ravenclaw but i chose the rune than the nearly perfected dragon pox and than the records
Same with me, i took the quiz like so many times ... i'd get gryffindor but i have this doubt that i am Hufflepuff. In wizardmore i am least like a hufflepuff but i still choose it many times. I think i am either of these two lol.
So here’s my thing. He doesn’t think he’s a raven claw but I clearly see it. No, like he said, cleverness doesn’t drive him. It’s more of a subconscious way he does everything. With little things like a wider vocabulary than most and the way he analyzes everything to get the best possible outcome. He doesn’t even know he does it because it’s so natural. That’s why you’re a raven claw, although hard to see at times, if you step out the eye of the hurricane it’s crystal clear. But I promise you, it’s totally there.
Ben definitely seems like a Ravenclaw to me. He seems to really enjoy deep discussions about any fictional universe and is really intrigued by J's different lines of thinking.
Hat: GRIFFINDOR! Ben: ehhh... idek where you got that from Hat: *sarcastic mumbling* HUFFLEPUFF Ben: No I reject that. Hat: You can’t- Ben: I do Hat: RAVENCLAW Ben: No I d- Hat: RAVENCLAW Ben: *goes and sits at the slytherin table*
On the old potter more quiz, my friend was sorted into Slytherin. She really wanted to be in Gryffindor instead so she made a new account and looked up the answers you had to pick to be on Gryffindor. She got it, but used such a Slytherin method that pottermore was right in the first place.
I thid exally that the first time so i could be in griffindor 😂. Now i dont really know which house am i into. Is it revenclaw or sliterin, because every time i do this quez its deffernte 💙💚
My cousin wanted to be slytherin but got gryffindor. There was one question that had an obvious slytherin answer but he didn't choose that one. So he's definitely a gryffindor
Ben! Embrace the Ravenclaw! It's not just about being clever. It's about thinking outside the box, being creative, and appreciating the weirdness in others. Known Ravenclaws: Luna Lovegood, Ollivanders, Trelawney, and Lockhart (shutters). Not to mention the owner of Honeydukes. They're not brilliant in the traditional sense. They're artistic and imaginative and usually know a lot about a single subject. Embrace the claw. We have the best sweatshop in the world!
I would argue trying to outsmart the quiz trying to get into Slytherin, would be a very cunning Slytherin thing to do, rather than a Ravenclaw smarts thing
Kevin Mattsson I think thats bout thing to do. You need to be smart to be cunning, and if you are smart you will outsmarting other people very easy. And that is prety mach the same thing 💙💚
@@xcallisto_ I'd agree, but tend to be very intelligent, I think the difference is how said intelligence tends to be applied. (this is not me calling Gryffindors and Hufflepuff dumb btw, just making that clear)
I Feel Like He Was Either Just Boasting About His Own Abilities As A Teacher Or Was Speaking Metaphorically (Aka: "Fallow My Instructions And You Will Be Able To Gain Glory And Fame From Potion Making").
@Adamant Arcanine & @Demonic Queen Felix Felicis, aka "Liquid Luck" could be considered a potion to brew glory and bottle fame, since it makes you successful at anything you attempt to do (for a short period of time - after spending considerable time and effort to make it).
Thank you!!! I have to explain to everyone who thinks im super smart! Im not... I'm just weird and like things like riddles puzzles and I like learning about things I like.
But you must remember, Ravenclaws are not all about wit and cleverness, They also value creativity and acceptance as well as oddity’s. It’s not all about smarts. -A Random Ravenclaw💙🧡
@Supreme Leader Jim Pickens not trying to throw shade on Christmas, but you should be careful talking to Comrade Stalin with that screen name. Rumor has it, (mind you, I don't hold any stock in these rumors,) that Comrade Stalin is both paranoid and dislikes any threat or potential threat to his totalitarian rule! So just be careful, "Supreme Leader..." xD I would hate to hear you had been carted off to the Gulag.
If you’re trying to con the quiz, you’re acting like a Ravenclaw. Me, who has taken the test 5 times, trying to con it into Ravenclaw, and gotten Hufflepuff:
But actually if u think about it it's also a slytherin thing. They're ambitious and persistent and always determined to achieve their goal. So if ur goal is to be sorted into slytherin u trying to finesse the quiz would make u a slytherin.
Same XD First I got into Ravenclaw but lost my account, so I had to make a new one and it put me into Hufflepuff. I wasn't too mad at that, because I'm a bit Hufflepuff-ish too, so I decided to do a third one to decide which one I belong to more, aaaaaand then it sorted me into Gryffindor, so I'm all the more confused XD
I just did some calculations based on reddit user u/N1ffler's Sorting Hat Quiz Analysis, and here are the house results in order Ben: Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor J: Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff/Gryffindor (They tied) Fun fact: if Ben had picked tails instead of heads, he would have been in Slytherin, so there you go.
The Harry Potter magical mystery be like: "which house do you wanna go in" You be like: "I think Slytherin cuz it's cool, i think". Then Harry Potter magical mystery be like: "Congratulations, you are in Slytherin". Meanwhile: Pottermore: What would you like for a Christmas Present? a. A baby brother b. Lord Voldemort c. Beach ball d. A toilet paper roll
Welcome to Ravenclaw Ben, we have cookies. Also Ravenclaw isn’t only about cleverness, from the quote “wit beyond measure is mans greatest treasure” she probably valued wit the most, wisdoms also there and generally thinking outside the box and useing the most logical way to get around things! I’m proud Ravenclaw if you didn’t notice.... lol
Ok so I’ve been thinking about the black or white question since yesterday! White: Hufflepuff and Gryphondor Black: Ravenclaw and Slytherin Here’s why. For Hufflepuffs, white is something that hasn’t been tainted, it’s pure. It’s warm and white = light For Gryphondors, whitebis good, and those Gryphondors are always looking to prove how good they are (aside from a few note able exceptions) For Ravenclaw, black is mysterious, it hold things they can study and learn more about. Creativity (because people seem to forget that’s a Ravenclaw trait) stems more so from the darkness than the light. Look at the dementors . JK Rowling, yes I know she’s not a Ravenclaw, took something awful, her depression, and turned it into these dark and mysterious creatures. For Slytherin, I think they would chose black for a similar reason Hufflepuffs would chose white. It’s pure, but instead of something that hasn’t been tainted, black is something that CANT be tainted. Black is considerably harder to stain than white. Anyway that’s just my thoughts. Hope y’all like the result of a Hufflepuff having way to much time on her hands
I’ve recently taken the quiz four times. Weeks or months apart I don’t remember. 1- Gryffindor 2- Hufflepuff 3- Slytherin 4- Ravenclaw I AM A HAT-STALL. The sorting hat would take so long with me. I feel like I would ultimately end up in Gryffindor. But who knows
Why does everyone look down at Hufflepuff? It's an amazing house with powerful wizards. Nynphadora Tonks and Newt Scamander are in Hufflepuff! We Hufflepuff's are extremely talented at Herbology and Magical Creatures! Where are my Hufflepuffs at? 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
I feel like in a real sorting situation J would be sorted into Slytherin first, and Ben would ask the hat to put him in Slytherin too so he could be in the same house as his brother💚🖤 But forreal I think Ben is really on the fence between Ravenclaw and Slytherin hahha
@@ttalgihyej No. The hat takes your own preferences into account. You can choose your house if you want. Harry specified this when talking to his son Albus in the epilogue.
@@roros-reverie I think Harry was mistaken myself. He got to choose because he already qualified for several houses so while his preference got taken into account I don't think it would have if he couldn't suit the house to begin with. For example Harry could go to Griffindor or Slythering he says not Slythering and goes to Griffindor, Harry could go to Slytherin only and says not Slythering, Hat says Sorry and sends him to Slytherin.
I can see it, Ben does think of ideas that are creative and outside the box. For Entrepreneurs - Ravenclaw is perfect mind set to have to create a specialized niche to start a business.
@@thelizardthatkatyaburnt4743 He thought he was a Slytherin and when he was sorted into Ravenclaw he was surprised. I thought I would be a Slytherin but I got sorted into Ravenclaw and I hated that for a while ( because I thought Slytherins were cooler)
I honestly feel like Ravenclaw is so misrepresented. Our merch has the wrong symbol, we have no main characters, and everyone thinks Hufflepuff is the underdog therefore everyone likes them. I am a true Ravenclaw because I value creativity, wit and originality above all else. But I also value kindness, which is Hufflepuff. I love Ravenclaw tho, and welcome! Study sessions are Friday at lunch in the common room. Also Ben I think you are a Ravenclaw. Your creativity and wisdom adds so much to this channel, and with J as a Slytherin makes sense. You both are smart in your own way, but you are more creative then he is. Just some thoughts tho!
I feel like Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw are both underdogs. I don't doubt people love Hufflepuff, being one myself, but I've also seen a lot of hate on the house. The same likely goes for Ravenclaw.
The sorting process is a yearly tradition for me I start a new account each year and ive been doing so for 5 years now. Every single time I have gotten Ravenclaw without fail. Ive also done the patronus quiz 5 times First time I got a vampire bat. Second time I got a dragon. Third and fourth I got a grey wolf. And my most recent patronus is an Occamy. I dont know why my patronus varies so much but im just happy that I managed to somehow get two of the most rare patronuses you can get.
Ben, I think the sorting hat chooses based off what you want to be. Hermione is for sure a Ravenclaw... but she values bravery more than smarts. Fred and George are Slytherins but their whole family has been in griffindor and they want to be brave as well
They are super mischievous and even tho their mom wanted them to get ministry jobs, they decided to go against that. Their ambition to start their own business really defined them as characters, and their business did really well. honestly, I think everyone in Gryffindor has a lot of the other houses traits, but they decided to go against that and join Gryffindor, which is why it's the brave house. it's kinda just a mix of everything and everyone is different except for the fact that they chose to be there.
Eperke it might not make sense but Fred and George are very resource full and ambitious. They are also have to be leaders if they own their own shop. And you can’t say they aren’t extremely clever making all their own tricks and “treats”
The quiz, as it is right now, is actually kind of screwy. There are sites where you can take exact replicas of it as many times as you want, and depending on what set of 6 of the possible 28 questions you get, you could be sorted differently. It should be changed to include all 28 questions so there's no room for variability like that.
@@wariolandgoldpiramid Maybe then make it so that the only combinations of questions you get are ones that would still get you the same result regardless of which you get.
Totally agreed. I only take the 3rd party versions that include every single question. Some of them also show your percentages of each house so you can see how close it was. I usually get a near tie between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, though I choose to identify with Hufflepuff.
When I took the test many years ago, I was sorted in Hufflepuff. Tbh I didnt want to be in it, but when reading about the Hufflepuff house in Pottermore, it def convinced me Im from their house and let it sink in my soul (basically resignated). I’ll retake the test some time soon to see if Im still on it, but rn now Im a proud Hufflepuff 💛💛💛
Ben, if you feel you don't fit into Ravenclaw because you "don't have the wisdom" (personally, I think you are wise, but you seem to disagree) - there are plenty of other Ravenclaw traits that you could have. Wit, creativity, originality, individuality, and acceptance. Ravenclaws are also known to be extremely competitive.
Technically the sorting quiz isn’t 100% accurate. The quiz only tells you what house you match best with, in terms of if you’re brave, kind, cunning, or wise. But the houses aren’t about having those qualities, it’s about valuing those qualities. A good example of this is Neville, who is Gryffindor not because he’s brave, but because he values bravery. This concept is also explained further about the main 3 protagonists in one of their videos (I’ll add the link after this comment). So the quiz is sort of just what you match with, but not what you want to be in. I’m a Ravenclaw, and I’ve taken the quiz many times and mostly have about 50/50 of both Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. But I want to be in Ravenclaw, and therefore I am. Like how Harry would’ve been a good match for Slytherin, but he said in the books “not Slytherin”. He didn’t want to be in Slytherin, and so he wasn’t.
Yeah the issue is Ben has never gotten Slytherin....he has taken the test 4 times now and 3 times he is a ravenclaw and 1 time he is a Hufflepuff....u can't identify as a Slytherin if it's not even one of your options...that's like me saying I'm Gryffindor but the 10 times I've taken the quiz I've only gotten Hufflepuff
Cross Clearly you haven’t read the books. The sorting hat’s purpose is to choose which house suits a wizard the best. However, people are put into certain houses just because they want to be in that house. That’s why Harry was put into Gryffindor, because although his personality fit Slytherin for the most part, he wanted to be in Gryffindor, and so he was.
Neville isn’t a good example. Look at his growth throughout the books. He is a Griffindor and it’s proven multiple times. I think the better example is hermione. She should have been a ravenclaw. Even though she displays bravery and loyalty her strength is her intelligence. But in the end she too is a true Griffindor. Ben is smart. Every time he builds a fish tank he is dealing with physics and math as well as zoology (fishology?) I think he was sorted correctly into ravenclaw. He loved his original job more than J did. When the channel took off they decided it was J that would be the first to give up his day job. I’m betting that was Ben figuring how his day job was more flexible anyway etc.
Welcome to Ravenclaw Ben!!! But, let me say, us Ravenclaws are the ones sitting with our laptop, Crimes of Grindelwald screenplay, and paper, trying to solve that all important mystery! Proud Ravenclaw!
I’m late to the party on this video, but, you guys should take the quiz that has ALL of the possible Pottermore questions to avoid a scenario where your answers to the limited test can skew a certain direction, and then the final one is which house you would prefer, because the sorting hat takes that into account.
Ravenclaws and Slytherins have similar traits, it would seem. Ravenclaws are smart by wit, and Slytherins are sort of smart by slyness and cunning abilities. As a Ravenclaw(my friends think I'm Hufflepuff), I also didn't feel like I perfectly aligned with a lot of the answers...:D
It's interesting because a lot of my very intelligent friends and I are Slytherin. We're actually very good people, but we're all very cynical and have kind of dark thoughts, which we play off as humor or keep to ourselves. We're all very studious, so you'd think that we'd be Ravenclaws though.
@@sebastiansmith1223 That's the same reason I wouldn't be surprised to get Slytherin in one test, despite getting Ravenclaw in all three I've taken thus far. So I'm the opposite to you and your friends then.
Ravenclaw doesn't just represent knowledge; we value wit, creativity, acceptance, and outside-the-box thinking. A lot of people feel that Hermione ought to have been in Ravenclaw due to her bookishness, but as Rowling explained she had far too much rigidity in her thought processes to be a true Ravenclaw. We're often weird, quirky people, but that comes down to each individual; we're all very individualistic, have a great sense of self, and a desire to be unique or to look at things in our own way. It's hard to place your friends into Houses, as they all tend to end up where you wouldn't expect; I was certain that my friend would be in Slytherin due to his cunning and ambition, but he _values_ courage and bravery over others and so was placed into Gryffindor - where I never would have suspected.
In Pottermore I was sorted into Gryffindor. Then I took the test in wizardmore to know the percentages of each house and I got 28% Gryffindor 27% Hufflepuff 23% Slytherin 22% Ravenclaw I think the sorting hat would have had a difficult decision with me :p
VyLynh Jensen lucky you my friends continue to argue with me about my own house. I have taken at least 15 quizzes telling me I’m a ravenclaw and I believe I’m a ravenclaw but they still insist I’m a hufflepuff. I don’t understand why they care so much about what house I’m in 🙄
I was sorted into Ravenclaw... They value; Wit, Intelligence and Creativity. Honestly I think this suits Ben quite well! While it's true that you both have Ambition, I had a hard time seeing Ben as a Slytherin. Ben is definitely Intelligent, as he can recall some of the most obscure parts of the books in the Quizzes, that J is lost on how he remembered it in the first place. I also think he's quite Witty, as he has a very charming sense of humor that adds to "SuperCarlinBrothers" in the best way. And last but not least, Creativity... It takes a great deal of creativity to come together and think of ideas of what to do for the next episode as well as writing the scripts. The theories are well thought out, having to use all three Ravencalw traits to come up with a viable theory that not only makes sense to the viewers, but entertains them as well. I know you feel a bit disappointed that you're not in Slytherin, but that's only because you're failing to look at Ravenclaw and see it's far more of a fit to who you are. Maybe you should go back to Potermore and read up on both Ravenclaw and Slytherin houses, it just might open your eyes. *;-)*
But sometimes the way other people see you isn’t who you are, and sometimes the way you are now isn’t who you want to be. Just because Ben seems like a Ravenclaw on the outside, doesn’t mean he’s not a Slytherin at heart.
The first time I was sorted was when they're still using the old pottermore before they become the wizarding world site. Back then I was sorted Gryffindor and that's the end. But last year (around November or December) I did another quiz since I created another account with the new site and I was sorted to Ravenclaw three times before I was sorted Gryffindor again. Maybe I am really a Ravenclaw. P.S. I'm new here haha. I usually watch other HP related channels but a friend recommended this channel and I'm glad she did.
I never felt like Ben was a Slytherin, but I can totally tell J is. There's nothing wrong with being a Ravenclaw, though. I actually wished I was sorted into Ravenclaw. Alas, I've been sorted into Slytherin, 3 times, on Pottermore. LOL
I use to think myself a Hufflepuff than i got Ravenclaw 3 times in a row and i accepted my fate, and I've come to realize how good a fit it is. Just embrace your destiny Ben 😂
I feel like people seem to forget that they can have characteristics of different houses, I'm a Ravenclaw with Slytherin tendencies so Ben can be a Ravenclaw AND a Slytherin.
Nikita Weaver that’s true, I personally don’t like hybrid houses so I don’t know😂 I really hope Ben looks into ravenclaw so he can maybe identify a bit better with it in the future, it’s my house and if he chooses to identify as it I would happily welcome him.
SAME. I like Ravenclaw, but I feel like I would be considered a Slytherin by many. Including myself. And the first time on Pottermore I got Gryffindor, which, no offense to Gryffindors, is not a house for me. You need to be afraid to be brave, bravery is overcoming your fears, and I'm just... not afraid of almost anything. Maybe failure in life, and with THAT I am not dealing well XD
@@itsrainingcantaloupes I don't know about hybrid houses, I just feel like I don't fit perfectly when only in Slytherin or only in Ravenclaw. I don't want to be in... Slytherclaw or whatever, I just want to be in both Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Does that make sense?
The first time I took the Pottermore test, I told me I was Slytherin. At the time, I was like: nnonnono, because I had not had my eyes opened. So then, next time, I tried to game the system to get Ravenclaw (the house I wanted.) I got Slytherin again. And so I looked up the answers to get Ravenclaw. I told my friends about this and they were like: This is why you got Slytherin. So...
@@malingreenleaf1414 He did. He said it as Snape, in the scene in the prisoner of Azkaban when Snape did the Defense against the dark arts class on werewolfs. But it was fitting and Hermione almost was a Ravenclaw :)
Because deep within you lies a brave and courageous soul that has yet to be found, but will be realized in time. That is why you belong with us in Gryffindor.
Let me clear this up: Just like how Slytherin doesn’t value evilness but rather ambition, Ravenclaw doesn’t value cleverness. What it does value is individuality (you have to be original. You can’t fake it), to think outside the box (this is NECESSARY as you won’t be able to get into the common room because the door asks a riddle that people like Hermione, who are strictly logical, wouldn’t be able to answer. This is why Luna is a Ravenclaw while Hermione was decided against it.), acceptance (this kinda goes with thinking outside the box. A true Ravenclaw would be able to look at a situation through someone else’s perspective and therefore we value acceptance of others), creativity (again. Originality is key. You have to be your own person.), as the sorting hat says Ravenclaw is for those who has a “ready mind”, you don’t have to BE smart, but instead admire and respect wits and learning. Ravenclaws are filled with inspiration, determination, focus, imagination, creativity, an open-mind. TRUE Ravenclaws are Luna, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), Anne (from Anne of Green Gables/Anne with an e), Sherlock Homes. So, in conclusion, Ravenclaws aren’t all nerds just like how Hufflepuffs aren’t all sensitive babies, Gryffindors aren’t all heroes, and Slytherins aren’t all villains. So don’t treat us as we are. Oh, and also based on your theory of Rowena Ravenclaw being a royal, you could say we were in a sense selected by royalty.
Sorry, but this was so cringy. And I'm a Ravenclaw. Getting offended because people call you smart is probably a bad thing. The fact is that Ravenclaw prizes all manner of intelligence and wisdom. That includes the book smarts, street smarts, wit and wisdom. A comedian, like Jerry Seinfeld, can be a fit for Ravenclaw, but so can an academic like Steven Hawking.
Ben is nothing like a Slytherin at all. Definitely a Ravenclaw, I can affirm, as a Ravenclaw myself. I think J is just so dominant, as a true Slytherin, that Ben wants to be with him; Slytherins have this inherent leadership about them that causes them to form true cliques with other people, snakes or not, so that people want to imitate them. But even the way that Ben tries to argue about him being a Slytherin is all the more evidence for him being a Ravenclaw. And no, the houses aren't based on your talent; they're based on your values. Ravenclaw's aren't necessarily clever; in fact, many of us are borderline insane; but the one thing all Ravenclaws have in common is the deep-rooted mindset that subconsciously prioritises curiosity and creativity as the main driving forces of ones life. Ravenclaws are generally not studious, being rather lazy, because our curiosity enthralls us in such a way we can't really focus on anything for too long before our infinite thirst for knowledge drags us to something else new and exciting; for that reason, for instance, Hermione would never fit in Ravenclaw at all. If you do the tests today, there is some extra detail and information to make that clear. Ben is a Ravenclaw. 💙🤎🦅
Technically it’s Slytherins that focus on cleverness and tactics. To make the difference more clear, if you were to look at the world as if it were a game of chess, which aspect of the world/people is the priority; the board or the pieces? The reason this question is so perfect for distinguishing these two houses is because the way that people think in these houses is so similar that it’s the finer details that set them apart. Ravenclaws would prioritize the board. It holds up the pieces and establishes the confines of the game, and similarly Ravenclaws prefer focusing on understanding the environment and how rules work with each other. That way, they can look at how to think outside the box and manipulate the environment to their advantage. Slytherins though, prioritize the pieces. To us, the board is easy to understand, it’s there and it keeps the game going within a certain perimeter. It’s the pieces that need to move to win the game though, and similarly, in life we can understand the environment as a general rule but we prepare for the unexpected and try to manipulate it so that it can’t catch us off-guard. Another chess analogy is whether you would instinctually try to win the game as quickly as possible (high risk, high reward) or whether it would be more natural for you to methodically remove your enemy’s pieces to force them into your hands easier; of which they respectively go to Ravenclaws on the first, and Slytherins on the second.
As a ravenclaw, I would not value either more highly, but want to know about both and also the relationship between them. Priorities are not a ravenclaw’s thing. We live to learn, not caring what knowledge we acquire, but only that some form of it is acquired. The ‘manipulation’ you mentioned us attempting to use seems far more Slytherin, and seems also to completely disregard the key principles of the house. Learning and learning and loving to learn.
For your second analogy, you use the word ‘instinct’. For a ravenclaw, we don’t have instincts. In fact, it also doesn’t acknowledge the principles of the house. Before playing chess, we would research which method yields more success, and have a strategy to implement before attempting to have a duel of sorts, which we have no prior knowledge of.
Sam Davies Not all Ravenclaws want to learn everything. Most I know are very specific about what they want to learn all about. As for my use of “priority” I’m referring to which focus would come to the forefront
This is weird for me, but I have taken the sorting quiz twice, and got Griffindor both times. It is quite obvious on the surface, but people who know me know that I have some Ravenclaw characteristics, and the metaphor of the chess game with Ravenclaw seemed so natural and obvious to me and i don't know what to think anymore! I am just super obnoxious and loud, but i also think out of the box, but I'm also not really scared of normal things! I just don't know anymore, please help!
Dont worry man. I am a ravenclaw with a "bloodhound" as a patronus and "rownan wood, unicorn hair and quite bendy and flexible" wand. I am the literal definition of basic
Nope, the fans love hufflepuff. The fans now hate Gryffindor. Hufflepuff was liked for being the underdog but now more people are hufflepuffs and are too proud of it
Lord Harry Lord Hermione Tell me what is so bad about Hufflepuff? They are loyal, kind, and they will always be there for you! If you ask me, I’d like a Hufflepuff as a friend than a Gryffindor! 💛🖤💛🖤💛
WELCOME TO RAVENCLAW BEN!!!!!! I've taken the quiz 8 times the first 7 because I was sure it was wrong. I was honestly so sure I was either a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff but after the 8th time I just accepted it and now am a proud Ravenclaw Eagle =)
Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure. You can still value your cunning and ambition and rise to whatever heights you desire; a little knowledge, wit, creativity, acceptance, and outside-the-box thinking will only help you on your way.
Ravenclaw is a great house I think. I think I always get sorted there due to a love of learning. I am not at all clever and used to think I was in slytherin as well due to ambition but ambition early encourages me to expand my mind more than anything else so.... also any patronus is better than a salmon.
I'm a RAVENCLAW and I've taken the quiz about 5 times now, my patronus is a Baset Hound my wand is 12 inches larch wood with unicorn hair and very rigid, and my ilvermony house is puckwudgie
The problem with the Sorting Hat quiz on Pottermore is that you don't get every single question each time you take it, so you end up with differing results each time. What you need to do is go on google and search for the FULL QUIZ, there are a few versions on different quiz sites. They will ask you every single possible question you can get on the Pottermore quiz, that way it's more of a complete result and it takes everything into account so you don't have to do it multiple times. Pottermore kept alternating for me between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, so I took the full quiz on a different site and am now a full Ravenclaw. Here is the link to take the full test or if you don't like using links just google it. www.gotoquiz.com/pottermore_sorting_quiz_all_possible_question
PaperPriest Well on my first sorting I got Gryffindor, and when I did it here I got 74% Gryffindor and 68% Slytherin, which makes sense as both kinda seek glory and power.
When I do the sorting quiz I get Hufflepuff 🦡 When I took this one I got 82% Hufflepuff and 72% Ravenclaw, Which is much closer than I was anticipating, so I’m having a small identity crisis 😂
Beth Cox nice, no way!! Same house and patronus, what’s ur favorite spell. Answer it before looking at mine. Ricktasempra: tickling charm, possibly disarms opponent
When I was younger I really wanted to be Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. But when I took the pottermore quiz a few years back I was sorted into Hufflepuff. Which bummed me out at first. But after researching Wizards and Witches for Hufflepuff (Scamander!) I really fell in love with the idea. And if I am honest, It is the most fitting house for me. Plus it seems rare to me that ppl will fly their Hufflepuff flag lol, so that makes me like it more. I just hate the color yellow lol.
After being sorted into Hufflepuff, I was kind of bummed. It forced me to to look up what the house stood for... and I must say, I’m sooooo happy to be in Hufflepuff.
edit for Ben: 'cleverness' is a *Slytherin* trait, so if that doesn't drive you, you probably don't belong there. . .just saying i also had an identity crisis when i got Ravenclaw this year. . .but that's coz i loved it so much despite being a Hufflepuff for so many years before lol
@Moon Scamander first off, i love your username! anyways, yes, slytherins are cunning, but i'm pretty sure clever is also one of their traits. if my memory is right they have clever, cunning, fraternity, ambition, determination, self-preservation and resourcefulness -- like, i genuinely feel like they have the best qualities of all the houses in them and the smarts to not be taken advantage of. . .it's actually my favorite house 🐍💚
@@DeadlyHausfrau I have always thought that ravenclaw is about wisdom and not cleverness nor intelligent, while Slytheryn is ambition and the will to Go after what you want
To be honest, I was kinda disappointed when I was sorted into Hufflepuff at first. But it was only because they were the most under-rated house. If you’re a Hufflepuff, be glad! Badger Pride is key! 💛🖤💛🖤💛
omg this is so relatable. I took the quiz once and I got Ravenclaw and I really didn’t feel like I belonged there. Then 3 years later I took the test twice and got Hufflepuff so then I thought I was Hufflepuff but I’ve realized that Ravenclaw screams me more than Hufflepuff. So I totally understand how you feel not belonging in Ravenclaw! But you do :)

Ok so I’ve been thinking about the black or white question since yesterday!
White: Hufflepuff and Gryphondor
Black: Ravenclaw and Slytherin
Here’s why.
For Hufflepuffs, white is something that hasn’t been tainted, it’s pure. It’s warm and white = light
For Gryphondors, whitebis good, and those Gryphondors are always looking to prove how good they are (aside from a few note able exceptions)
For Ravenclaw, black is mysterious, it hold things they can study and learn more about.

Every single time I have gotten Ravenclaw without fail.
Ive also done the patronus quiz 5 times
First time I got a vampire bat. Second time I got a dragon. Third and fourth I got a grey wolf. And my most recent patronus is an Occamy.
I dont know why my patronus varies so much but im just happy that I managed to somehow get two of the most rare patronuses you can get.
haha i like that they both sat in their ‘respective’ seats when taking the quiz!
Ben, I think the sorting hat chooses based off what you want to be. Hermione is for sure a Ravenclaw... but she values bravery more than smarts. Fred and George are Slytherins but their whole family has been in griffindor and they want to be brave as well
yea i thought of that too
also i thought that Gryffindor is a combination of all the houses in a way
Yeah i think that too... But why would f and g be slytherins tho?
@@eperke2933 they are cunning, manipulative and ambitious. Those traits are used to describe Slytherins all the time.
But that would be an overly long quiz.
And that would make you a hatstall for not getting sorted quickly.
All four quizes are randomised.
I kinda agree, I think they should delete the "heads or tails" like questions and include the other questions.
Big facts
When I took the test many years ago, I was sorted in Hufflepuff. Tbh I didnt want to be in it, but when reading about the Hufflepuff house in Pottermore, it def convinced me Im from their house and let it sink in my soul (basically resignated). I’ll retake the test some time soon to see if Im still on it, but rn now Im a proud Hufflepuff 💛💛💛
Same but Ravenclaw.
BeebaLazyVlogs oof Ben is sooooo competitive. Yep he’s definitely Ravenclaw
Reavenclaws have a lot of opinions and usually get their way by convinving you they are right so I think that in many ways Ben does match Reavenclaw
Tbh every house is competitive except Hufflepuff maybe
Casey Greyson I think it is a bit like chosing between introvert/extrovert when you are a ambivert.
Casey Greyson a
Cross Clearly you haven’t read the books.
@@sebastiansmith1223 "my very intelligent friends" lol...

I wholeheartedly agree. He never seemed like a slytherin to me either
LOL

Exactly. I'm a Hufflepuff but I also have some Gryffindor characteristics :)
Slytherclaw they exist
The first time I took the Pottermore test, I told me I was Slytherin. At the time, I was like: nnonnono, because I had not had my eyes opened. So then, next time, I tried to game the system to get Ravenclaw (the house I wanted.) I got Slytherin again. And so I looked up the answers to get Ravenclaw.
WOW...
"Dont treat us as we are"
You know you arent _really_ apart of a house right
Nicely put 😊
I was about to comment with something exactly like this, and you've said it all perfectly.

RIGHT HERE FELLOW RAVENCLAWS 💙🦅💙
