We have the 100W panel mounted to the galley door of our teardrop camper - it works great! I have seen slightly over 100W when in ideal conditions even.
I like that a lot! I too live on solar in the RV, but the old tempered glass type on the roof. I like that "elderly" can even do it! I too resemble that remark, ha ha. I'm wondering if you could just run your cabling direct to the Jeep's main battery, keeping your roof edges & interior free of wiring? At least if you're not drawing big loads off it, as the Jeep battery is not "deep cycle". Such great new stuff they've come out with!
Yeah. At the moment, I don’t want to commit to 3M taping it to the roof. Using industrial Velcro would give me flexibility and options, or I could simply just hang it on the side of the Jeep when I want to. I’m not sure yet. 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Dino. Those panels look great. If you mount them, do they need a gap underneath to prevent overheating? The older flexible panels needed it. Btw, is that an old apple computer behind you?
I haven’t used it enough to try and measure but from what I read in general, solar panels reduce efficiency as they get hotter. These panels are meant to be taped down onto RV roofs and boat decks, but I still imagine as they warm, they would become slightly less efficient. The nice thing about the Jeep roof is that it naturally has ridges thereby providing gaps for air, which “may” help. 🤷🏻♂️ Yes, That’s an old Mac in the background upon which I have completed a lot of work in my early days. I can’t bring myself to toss it. Thanks for noticing. Cheers.
@CheaperJeeperTV Thanks for the response. I look forward to learning how the cigs do over time. I remember learning to code on the Apple IIe. Your Mac is very cool.
I checked online and it appears that the Jackery 1000 input voltage range is compatible with that of this particular panel. But check for yourself just to be sure. Cheers.
It certainly isn’t as cheap as some of those foldable portable panels, but if you needed the benefits afforded by the CIGS technology, it’s good to get these if they’re on sale that’s for sure.
Awesome! Congrats Dino! Best mod ever ❤
Happy New Year 2025!!!🎉
Thank you. Cheers.
Happy New Year 2025 to you too my friend. Cheers 🍻
Those are great for a cargo trailer conversion. Stick them to the roof and you'll never worry about hail damage.
Hail damage!!!! I forgot to mention that one!!! Thanks for pointing that out!
Cheers.
I have 2- 200 watt cigs solar stick on panels one year later . Absolutely amazing works fantastic .
Nice! Good to hear! They are impressive for sure. Cheers.

Thank you for the feedback on the video, AND my dog. He loves coming along when we go camping. Cheers.
I have a set of cigs modules going on 15 years. Still awesome!

Awesome setup, for your rooftop?

Great review Dino, thanks for sharing.
Hey Scott,
You are very welcome.

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if anyone would catch that Resemble remark!😊
Cheers.
I love your Jeep vifeos
Well thank you very much for the feedback on the videos. Cheers
You should do a video on how you install it on your Jeep.

A little solar goes a long way. I have 30w on my FJ hood. It's been great for camping. Eventually I'd like to add something larger to the roof.
Awesome. This CIGS technology also comes in. Smaller 100W size too.
Cheers.

Is this gonna work on my Jackery 1000?

I would never consider $3 a watt.... cheap
