Why did i think this series literally made artists dump out their belongings to see what they carry around day to day and i was way more excited to see that
It's so crazy how stuff in the metal sphere is considered by many to be just angry noise, when some of the most open-minded and creative artists in existence live in this space. Thanks for sharing, seems like a really great guy
It's not easy for the average person to digest anything in extreme music so it's not really that crazy when they dismiss Metal as just angry noise. It's definitely ignorant of them though
@@slaythembeforeme Yeah but you could say any niche non-mainstream genre is hard to digest. Metalheads tend to be more open minded to all types of music even if they're not into it. I've noticed most people will just call stuff "weird" if they don't like it
@@KingJerbear definitely agree with you. Metalheads, especially metal musicians are very diverse and open minded and often eclectic in their taste and appreciation of music
I saw Knocked Loose last year in Grand Rapids, MI and before the show, I saw him digging at a local record store there called Vertigo Music. He's definitely someone who appreciates a wide variety of music and I'm glad Amoeba asked him to do this video.
For real. Folk and Metal has a lot more in common than people think. I’m hoping to see these artist colab in the future. Instead we got Jelly Roll and fucking FIR
Dude Brian throwing love to both Boldy and Tyler is so great. Love to see the diversity in musical taste, both of them and knocked loose are in my rotation!
One common thing i notice about talented music artists is their appreciation for other artists across a wide array of genres they don’t just listen to one genre
Most metal vocalists/members are. Just look at corpsegrinder the guy writes insanely depraved fucked up lyrics but irl he’s super chill and really friendly. One of my favorite things about him is he donates thousands of toys to children’s hospitals every year
This was an incredible video! Seems like a super chill dude. I saw knocked loose a few years back at the Sherman theater with Gojira. I kid you not, I have never gotten goose bumps like I did seeing them. I thought they out performed Gojira. Incredible experience and this guy knows his stuff.
I saw them on that same tour in Orlando FL and omg…I sure wish they’d had a longer set. Alien Weaponry was incredible too but they were a favorite of mine before I saw them. That show made me a knocked loose fan for sure!
I'm so glad he mentioned High Vis. I fell in love with that band when I watched thier set from outbreak fest. Such a unique sound I hope they blow up and get even more success.
Man, I am having a hard time connecting the Bryan sharing these insights about some very cool music with the guy at the end explaining how he gravitates to extremes in musical tastes and produces such extremity in Knocked Loose. I LOVE IT!!! Can't say Knocked Loose is a band I've spent a lot of time with in the past, and it's not really representative of a style of music I love but I hugely appreciated hearing from this witty, genuine, seemingly awesome person. Thanks Bryan, you rock!
Yesss!!! I come to learn from these episodes. It's annoying when guests are like here is a record everyone knows. I'm like "how don't you already have that in your collection."
Boldy James has a lot of prose that resonate with me. That's an amazing choice and thank you for putting me into his vibe. It will be in my driving playlist. Tyler Childers is amazing, as a Georgia grown I was around a lot of country music and bluegrass, those fiddles weep so much emotion.
So sweet! I loved everything he said about JUDGE and music alike because that’s exactly how I feel when choosing music. Can’t wait to see these guys in the fall! ❤
Love the fact that these kids are carrying on the Hardcore genre. I was in the music business when the Metal Blade compilation came out. I have an original pressing. Best wishes to the band. Go out, stay focused, don’t F up and you will go far.
bryan is so down to earth, i love him so much. when knocked loose opened for bmth last year, it truly opened my mind fucking up. i hope i can meet him one day 😭 also thank you for the new music bryan !!!
The boldly James shoutout was dope. Griselda is incredible. It kinda makes sense now with the gritty tone Knocked loose has, even though they’re 2 completely different genres🤷♂️ gotta love music man
Nice. Garris is as intelligent as I always thought he probably was. Great selection of records too. Didn't know about Tyler Childers' 'Long Violent History' album and will now seek it out.
It’s nice to find a healthy balance in your music listening, I grew listening to everything from old gospel in church to metal, to country, to hip hop, I kinda feel blessed to have grown up in the 80’s and 90’s, I got turned on to a lot of different sounds growing up, doesn’t matter the genre, I just love music, great thing about this channel is I continue to get exposed to good music often through artists I’ve never heard of, love Tyler Childers btw, “ Banded Clovis” is probably my favorite of his songs, gonna check out this dudes music now. Thanks For Sharing 🤘
Check out their EP A Tear In The Fabric Of Life. Its one of the hardest releases theyve put out and its so good. Theres a full music video/short movie for it here on youtube.
Seems like a very down to earth guy. I really resonate with what he said about music with extreme emotions. It's getting harder every year to identify with "nice" expressions of art. It simply doesn't match what the world looks and feels like in these dark times.
fuck I wanna be this dudes friend. You almost wouldn't expect him to be so wholesome if you've seen him live. The energy and anger he brings to the stage is fuckin immense
I feel like when bands like Knocked Loose do these, it's either mostly EXACTLY what one might expect, or the complete opposite. Who would have thought he'd be into bluegrass? Awesome.
I thought he wouldve leaned more into American Hardcore but he has good taste. The dude in Retaliation also sings for Chisel and does guest vocals for one of my favorite Oi wave bands (Home Front)
I do FoH for Charley Crockett and we played Coachella right after knocked loose. Their singer finished the set and ran from the stage to our show. Fucking legend!
this is the most british looking american man ive ever seen
The American South, including Kentucky where this man is from, was settled and populated by Englishmen, ie Anglo-Saxon blood.
@@memalley A lot more Scots-Irish or Irish and Scots in the south and especially in Kentucky and nearby states. And Welsh too…I think you’re getting confused and mixed up with Georgia and Virginia which were predominately English settled historically.
Stereotypical looking I think you mean.
Russell Brand is an Englishman and doesn’t look like this dude.
Elijah Wood.
I'm not super familiar with this band, and I half expected a British accent 😂

The complete opposite of some of the gatekeeping fans of metal or hardcore as well lol

If people gave a shit about hardcore… it would be Woodstock 99 times 10.
You act like most of their fans aren't apart of the Coachella crowd lol
Gonna be really hard for those basic bitches in the crowd to post their 500th selfie when theyre getting crowdkilled lmfao
Idk about you but I’m going weekend 2 and they’re one of my 2 must sees for my group. Soul glo is my other.

That’s cool to here! I was supposed to see them at the Dallas show, but they couldn’t make it because of transportation issues.
