this is the most british looking american man ive ever seen
The American South, including Kentucky where this man is from, was settled and populated by Englishmen, ie Anglo-Saxon blood.
@@memalley A lot more Scots-Irish or Irish and Scots in the south and especially in Kentucky and nearby states. And Welsh too…I think you’re getting confused and mixed up with Georgia and Virginia which were predominately English settled historically.
Stereotypical looking I think you mean.
Russell Brand is an Englishman and doesn’t look like this dude.
Elijah Wood.
Bryan Garris : Singing the most piercing vocal chords ever in a history of hardcore bands that makes the crowd goes nuts
Also Bryan Garris : Looks like my dad wearing knitwear cardigan while shopping cd.
I love this dude.
Ever in history of Hardcore? Absolutely not.
the dick riding is crazy😂
@@slaythembeforeme yeah dude, especially in modern hc. So tell me if you have any name in mind
Martyrdod? Exploator? Skitsystem? That shit sounds way more raw than fuckin knocked loose.
ridiculous style
Why did i think this series literally made artists dump out their belongings to see what they carry around day to day and i was way more excited to see that
I thought thats what that was going to be about too 🤣🤣🤣
Same here
So same
Guess you’re an idiot? Not sure
I don't know about you, but I don't usually carry bags around. Phone, keys, and wallet lol
These guys are going to destroy Coachella lol 😂
I thought this was a joke and then looked at the lineup - that is amazing!
If people gave a shit about hardcore… it would be Woodstock 99 times 10.
You act like most of their fans aren't apart of the Coachella crowd lol
Gonna be really hard for those basic bitches in the crowd to post their 500th selfie when theyre getting crowdkilled lmfao
Idk about you but I’m going weekend 2 and they’re one of my 2 must sees for my group. Soul glo is my other.
It's so crazy how stuff in the metal sphere is considered by many to be just angry noise, when some of the most open-minded and creative artists in existence live in this space. Thanks for sharing, seems like a really great guy
It's not easy for the average person to digest anything in extreme music so it's not really that crazy when they dismiss Metal as just angry noise. It's definitely ignorant of them though
@@slaythembeforeme Yeah but you could say any niche non-mainstream genre is hard to digest. Metalheads tend to be more open minded to all types of music even if they're not into it. I've noticed most people will just call stuff "weird" if they don't like it
I mean, even I myself, as a knocked loose fan, would call it angry noise
But damn beautiful angry noise
@@KingJerbear definitely agree with you. Metalheads, especially metal musicians are very diverse and open minded and often eclectic in their taste and appreciation of music
The complete opposite of some of the gatekeeping fans of metal or hardcore as well lol
He's so chill and cool, while having one of the most psychologically devastating record in hardcore under his belt. That's neat.
are you referring to a different shade of blue
@@beckrussack8291 "A tear in the fabric of life" got me real good when it came out
@@darkcheaker honestly made me cry and think a lot😂
@@darkcheaker its horrorcore if u ask me.
The ending was so wholesome. You could tell he was very appreciative to be able to do this.
I saw Knocked Loose last year in Grand Rapids, MI and before the show, I saw him digging at a local record store there called Vertigo Music. He's definitely someone who appreciates a wide variety of music and I'm glad Amoeba asked him to do this video.
That’s cool to here! I was supposed to see them at the Dallas show, but they couldn’t make it because of transportation issues.
Knocked Loose and Tyler Childers are my two favorite artists, I NEVER thought i’d see overlap lol
Thought the same thing, just now really getting into Knocked Loose and Bryan pulling out the Tyler Childers album made me super happy.
@@milesprice527 same here
Whitehouse Road is Childers' only good song, and I LIVE in Appalachian eastern KY.
Dude Brian throwing love to both Boldy and Tyler is so great. Love to see the diversity in musical taste, both of them and knocked loose are in my rotation!
Shoutout Boldy James!! Never thought I’d see Bryan and Boldy overlap but here we are😂
Not sure how a Childers/Knocked Loose collaboration would work, but I absolutely wanna find out!
If anyone could pull it off, it would be knocked loose
Unbelievably good pick with Boldy. Criminally underrated artist
That High Vis record is one of the dopest albums I've heard in the last few years, so sick to see them represented in this series!
No sense No feeling is for sure worth a listen if you liked the followup!
That Boldy James record is fucking awesome.
Excellent. Cool guy. It’s so nice to see someone who doesn’t just pick The Beatles and Nina Simone once in a while.
Yes! Exactly!
Yesss!!! I come to learn from these episodes. It's annoying when guests are like here is a record everyone knows. I'm like "how don't you already have that in your collection."
@@frankdemariany I don't think any of these artists give a flying fuck if you learn a thing or two.
Radio music. Shit you hear all the fucking time
I heard he’s a dick
One of the most thoughtful guests. WIMB Hall of Fame!
Well spoken musician. The future is going to be ok.
knew he’d have a variety based off of the rare t-shirts this man rocks. thanks for having a variety of different artists on here
This was an incredible video! Seems like a super chill dude. I saw knocked loose a few years back at the Sherman theater with Gojira. I kid you not, I have never gotten goose bumps like I did seeing them. I thought they out performed Gojira. Incredible experience and this guy knows his stuff.
I saw them on that same tour in Orlando FL and omg…I sure wish they’d had a longer set. Alien Weaponry was incredible too but they were a favorite of mine before I saw them. That show made me a knocked loose fan for sure!
Check out Zulu. They legitimately tried to kill their instruments when I saw them
KL puts on one of the best live shows if not the best live show I’ve ever been to!
One of my favorites. Love some of the best hardcore vocalist are super soft spoken and relaxed.
Most metal vocalists/members are. Just look at corpsegrinder the guy writes insanely depraved fucked up lyrics but irl he’s super chill and really friendly. One of my favorite things about him is he donates thousands of toys to children’s hospitals every year
Shout out Tyler Childers, we share the same name and had to meet him at a small bar show in Phoenix like 6 years ago, mans got the voice of an angel
You are doing great and living your best life . Proud of my cousin.
I love bryan so much love how he looks like an indie artist lol
I dig Knocked Loose, but had never seen the band members. I didn't expect Bryan to look how he does. :)
bryan really that friend who listens to every genre
Woah. This dudes vibe is so good!
I love that he listens to Tyler Childers, being from the WV, KY, OH tri state its awesome to see him supporting other artists from the area
He's such a cool dude and his band is amazing aswell. 🙂
Man, I am having a hard time connecting the Bryan sharing these insights about some very cool music with the guy at the end explaining how he gravitates to extremes in musical tastes and produces such extremity in Knocked Loose. I LOVE IT!!! Can't say Knocked Loose is a band I've spent a lot of time with in the past, and it's not really representative of a style of music I love but I hugely appreciated hearing from this witty, genuine, seemingly awesome person. Thanks Bryan, you rock!
i love that he knows his hip hop, was surprised when he mentioned boldy james and griselda
I knew all along he was brought up on the same shit I was. Wu-Tang, Biggie, early 90s east-coast Brooklyn shit.
what a great episode! I never heard about him or his band but I thoroughly enjoyed how he explained his picks! made me want to check everything out!
knocked loose is wicked
Brace yourself lol
What a cool dude with such diverse influences. Can’t wait to see KL again!
What a legend. Love this dude, love this band.
I'm so glad he mentioned High Vis. I fell in love with that band when I watched thier set from outbreak fest. Such a unique sound I hope they blow up and get even more success.
I’m genuinely surprised that he’s a Boldy James fan! Bryan has an immaculate and wide reaching taste in music. Respect!
Mad happy for The Chisel rec. Great new Oi! Band. Saw 'em live at FYA in Tampa this year and they did not disappoint.
yes! saw them in Richmond, they’re great
Saw Knocked Loose live for the first time in Sac when they performed at the $uicideboy$ concert. They are amazing live.
Bryan choosing Boldy is so refreshing and awesome!
It’s nice to find a healthy balance in your music listening, I grew listening to everything from old gospel in church to metal, to country, to hip hop, I kinda feel blessed to have grown up in the 80’s and 90’s, I got turned on to a lot of different sounds growing up, doesn’t matter the genre, I just love music, great thing about this channel is I continue to get exposed to good music often through artists I’ve never heard of, love Tyler Childers btw, “ Banded Clovis” is probably my favorite of his songs, gonna check out this dudes music now. Thanks For Sharing 🤘
Check out their EP A Tear In The Fabric Of Life. Its one of the hardest releases theyve put out and its so good. Theres a full music video/short movie for it here on youtube.
I wish I was near amoeba I could spend hours in that place!!!!!!! The best of the best.
love this. real thoughtful, genuine, passionate dude.
Nice. Garris is as intelligent as I always thought he probably was. Great selection of records too. Didn't know about Tyler Childers' 'Long Violent History' album and will now seek it out.
Crazy to see him here, congrats they deserve the recognition 🔥
What a sweet soul! Great picks too.
Did not expect the first pick to be Boldy James. This guy knows good hip hop!
I love knocked loose and Tyler Childers
Great list Brian humble guy appreciate your selection
A nice eclectic list. One of the better ones recently.
Absolutely love Knocked Loose! Thanks for having Garris on!
Love the sound of that Tyler Childers tune. I saw that album art floating around the internet. Will peep!
Nice. He actually took some time to talk about the records, not just name check them.
Just saved like every song , He's putting us on . Love KL
What a bloody lovely bloke!!
Saw Knocked loose in Missoula Montana 2017 and that band was outstanding.
So sweet! I loved everything he said about JUDGE and music alike because that’s exactly how I feel when choosing music. Can’t wait to see these guys in the fall! ❤
I love Tyler Childers and I love Bryan Garris and now I love Bryan more cause he loves Tyler
The fact he’s got boldy james on here is so fucking sick
Oh man this Hi Vis record…. Thank you!!
I saw knocked loose in Spain last year at resurrection fest and they fking smashed. Great live show.
Thank you SO MUCH for making me discover High vis
Boldly James hell yeah. I loved knocked loose even more now
Bryan had some really interesting picks, it's so awesome to see the variety of genres he's into
Nice recs!! Psyched to check out the chisel and hi res!! 😊
Yes to The Chisel and Hi-Vis! Both ace.
Boldy! Ayyyyyeeee!! Great picks 👍
This is the side of Bryan every fan should get a chance to see
Damn, Trapped Under Ice. Haven't thought of that name in a long time.
tThese are always a good watch, it's so cool to see inside the minds of all these great artists.
Would love to see James Hart from Eighteen Visions do one.
Finally an artist I actually recognize! Been a minute! Oldham on top!! KYHC
Looove Tyler Childers! Great pick up!
I don't know if it's because I'm in a good mood or he just has excellent music tastes
Damn, dude has GREAT taste in music!!!
bryan is so down to earth, i love him so much. when knocked loose opened for bmth last year, it truly opened my mind fucking up. i hope i can meet him one day 😭 also thank you for the new music bryan !!!
KYHC...Hell yeah man...I'm Kentucky my whole life...5 minutes south of Cincinnati...Knocked loose makes me proud
His vocals are fucking insane. Weird seeing him be so chill
fuck I wanna be this dudes friend. You almost wouldn't expect him to be so wholesome if you've seen him live. The energy and anger he brings to the stage is fuckin immense
I was not expecting such a variety!! We would love to do this sometime!! 🤘🤘
love this
"I love miserable sounding music..." That's the best way to put it, lmao. 💚
The boldly James shoutout was dope. Griselda is incredible. It kinda makes sense now with the gritty tone Knocked loose has, even though they’re 2 completely different genres🤷♂️ gotta love music man
So cool ❤
Seems like a very down to earth guy. I really resonate with what he said about music with extreme emotions. It's getting harder every year to identify with "nice" expressions of art. It simply doesn't match what the world looks and feels like in these dark times.
Calm disposition is very charming. I'd love to sit and chat with him
Brilliant.
Boldy 💪
Nice selections all around.
Wow! that was way more diverse than I was expecting...cool..
I feel like when bands like Knocked Loose do these, it's either mostly EXACTLY what one might expect, or the complete opposite. Who would have thought he'd be into bluegrass? Awesome.
To be fair all ya gotta do is take one good look at his lyrics and the sample choices 😂
lol and from Oldham county
Saw them last year in Louisville at a tiny venue. The pit was so crazy we knocked the sound system out.
I would never ever think this guy even know who is Boldy James. He bought me again.
I'm waiting on that Tyler Childers x Knocked Loose album. I'd settle for a single feature.
They’re both playing Bonnaroo this year! Maybe they’ll connect
@@cass6362 we can hope
further proof that the some of the best musicians in a given genre often don't just listen to music within their same genre
lol wow so deep.
best thing you can do is listen to a variety of genres. there is so much amazing music out there in every style and form. you miss out on so much if you never dig into it.
The 2nd LP High Vis put out last year was definitely the best record of the year. They should get more recognition from outside of HC scene.
Absolutely love KL!
I love this man. If you’ve not listened to KL, do so.
Saw them in Buffalo at the last tid the season. They were amazing!!!!
High Vis is so fucking good! SO happy to see them on here!
If we can get Tyler Childers, Bryan Garris and Austin Lunn to do a supergroup Kentucky-collab I'll die happy.
That would be sick but I think Austin lives in Minnesota now
this guy is very relaxing to look at / listen to. Would like to be his friend.
Other than Tyler Childers I haven't heard of anyone else here, I like that
BIG ups for the Boldy James pick and the Griselda shout out! *Boom Boom Boom!*
