Sam Valentine 500 people with $20 admission is $10,000 split cost with 4 other bands and venue fees, is still something to $2000 or $3000 a night. Not even including merch sales
Lol poor Isaac not being allowed to drive. Also this might just be a messiest band van I’ve seen yet. This is a band truly committed to what they do and having to rough it through their journey.....
I know they've upgraded since then, pretty sure they have an RV with bunk beds and shit. Kinda felt bad for Bryan, he seemed tired as shit during this tour because of how small of space him and his members all got in that van. I love this band, they've got a lot of character and their drive is nutty.
I really love the concept of showing touring bands and how they tour in their vans! Just goes to show how tough it can be if you're not really commited to your passion. Before I joined our band the guys told me about their first tour that was 2 months long. Everyone just quit their jobs to go after their dreams and like a week into the tour the drummer and bassist quit. So they had to make arrangements and finish the tour acoustically. Before you decide if this is what you really wanna do, I would suggest watching these bus invaders clips and see what you're about to get into! This is really cool! Great job guys!!
Really glad you liked the video Shane. Hope you get a chance to check out more of them. Part of the beauty of this series is the show you the more glamorous buses, but also the vans, which is where the vast majority of artists start out. Even the buses aren't THAT glamorous. Imagine living in a 1,000 square foot apartment with 7-11 other people for months at a time.
Digital Tour Bus Man I tell you that's gotta be some kind of tough! I saw the 3 Teeth video and dude said rule #1 don't shit on the bus lol plus also no showers really and only bunks to sleep on and possibly floors
Digital Tour Bus Man I tell you that's gotta be some kind of tough! I saw the 3 Teeth video and dude said rule #1 don't shit on the bus lol plus also no showers really and only bunks to sleep on and possibly floors
Honestly, when this video was filmed, they could have easily afforded a bus. It was a conscious choice to do a van instead. Ultimately, they end up coming home with more money at the end of the tour if they tour in a van they own instead of a bus they'd rent for $1,000+ per day.
@@digitaltourbus Yeah I figure it's an economical decision, then again if they were that worried about making money I don't think they'd have picked this genre of music to begin with. It's hard enough being in a rock band nowadays, the idea you're intentionally going into a niche genre just because you are in love with it is admirable. I mean, I am not their accountant or anything but I would be surprised if they consistently make $1,000 a day just anyway.
@@voteZDLR This tour was selling out 500-1000 capacity venues in most cities. Between their guarantee for ticket sales, plus money made on merch and VIP meet & greets, my guess is they were making between $3000-6000 a day. I have no inside knowledge, just did some back of the napkin math.
@@digitaltourbus Yeah that sounds about right. They probably do make the bulk of their money from merch and touring. And if that's all they're making then to lose $1,000 a day for a bus is a huge expense. The van they are using isn't just unbelievably small or anything either, but having just that much more space to move around would be a luxury I would at least consider if I was spending that much time on the road and was reasonably successful enough to afford it. Otherwise living in such cramped conditions I'd be liable to go a little insane I think
"I listen to the bands we are on tour with" are you God? Haha jkjk, that strikes me as humble and genuine as fuck, probably the first metal musician I have heard on an interview actually admit that they LISTINE TO METAL😯😯 instead of going the pretentious douche route of saying "to be honest I dont even listen to heavy music"😜🤪
You haven't watched enough of our videos then. Tons of metal bands listen to metal music. You have to respect the ones that don't listen on the road though. They are surrounded by it all day. Plus, listening to other genres of music can help inspire unique new metal music.
@@digitaltourbus I actually got the idea from the Bus Invaders featuring Khemmis, but ended up watching a few of these videos before sharing my idea. Thanks for doing what you guys do! These are fun videos.
Please tell me! How you go on tour when you have a side job and not a lot of money! I need to get my band to invest in this! I’d be a dream to go on tour!
Label support is a thing of the past, even since the fall of record sales. If KL wanted a bus, they could definitely afford it, they wanted to have more money at the end of the tour and actually enjoy touring in a van.
A lot of bands upgrade for Warped Tour, since the tour is routed for buses and is very difficult to do in a van. I remember Pac Sun telling me when we filmed the one at Warped Tour that they'd much rather show off their van.
Who should we film with next?
For the Fallen Dreams
Phinehas
For all eternity
Ingested! They're new album is amazing!

Got bunch of sold out shows but still driving a van. That is how you keep your money
Very much so.

When have they sold out a show? 😂
Heal The Divide very often hahaha

I don’t think it’s too bad. Day in day out in a van is tough. I can appreciate their prioritizing laying down instead of sitting up.

I don't know why, but I tend to enjoy the Van Invaders the most!
They tend to have more character, since they typically look more lived in.

I can not imagine living like that for weeks and months. Such dedication!
