I'm impressed by your ability to condense these stories down into just one or two sentences that actually do basically sum up the plot pretty well, despite leaving out basically what happens in the game. I'd be pretty hard pressed to focus on the stuff the player does and I'd miss the forest for the trees, as it were. Very well done!
So Final Fantasy is basically Gods being dicks/Some random powerthing being misused + evil guy wanting to blow up the world + a party of weird-haired people that stop plan but only three or four of them can be on the battlefield at any one time with absolute no consistency between the games except the mechanics and a few exceptions.
Like honestly Square Enix, how many of these games come out until the ACTUAL Final Fantasy happens.

It's called Final Fantasy because Square thought Final Fantasy 1 on the NES was going to bomb so fucking hard that it would be their final game.

At least Fire Emblem games are somewhat connected, that makes it a bit easier to comprehend.
rather impressive however there were a couple mistakes here and there.
Though honestly following the plot of some of the games takes a master's degree in 'wtfology'.
Yeah sometimes I thought "wait, that's not that game at all" then I realized that actually it was, the major overarching plots he covers just aren't even discovered until the last 10 or 20 minutes of the game.
I like the parts where it's eco-terrorists and mercenaries saving the world, really makes you think about your choices in those games....
Yeah, I never really cared much for FF7 for that very reason. Hard root for my characters when they're blowing up cities because the leaders support drilling for oil.

Materia, mako, or whatever magic you take from the LifeStream, doesn't really leave the cycle permanently, even the bit expended as rocket fuel will eventually make it's way back to the planet, it's only when the use massive amounts at one time that you have problems, or when it gets exported off-planet like with Jenova.
Edit: You also have to remember, that any injury to the planet, also pulls resources from the lifestream, so a massive reactor exploding, was probably responsible for the death of a forest somewhere else.
Golden Sun in 3 minutes? It's not exactly hard but it'd make more people aware such a good game series exists!

With only in game story, only 30 seconds, with another 10 for DLC. If you add in anything from grimoire it'd probably increase it to 45 with another 15 for DLC, a minute with 20 extra for DLC at most.
In the not so distant future, humanity comes across the Traveller, a huge orb entity that protects races of sentient life forms from the Darkness. War breaks out as the Darkness makes its way to Earth and only one city is left standing with the now dead Traveller hovering above it. When it died it released little AIs called Ghosts to resurrect long dead people and give them powers to combat the Darkness. These people are called the Guardians and spend the next year destroying the forces of Darkness, including a Time-Warping Vex Minotaur, a Hive Prince, the Kell of all Fallen Kells, and dozens of high-ranking commanders of the Darkness. Learning of his son's demise, Oryx, King of all Hive arrives in the rings of Saturn and eradicates a fleet of Vanguard and Queen's Guard ships, including the Queen of the Awoken herself. The Guardians mount a counter-attack with the aid of the Vanguard's Hunter Commander and kill Oryx once and for all. After another year of keeping the darkness at bay, the Fallen use experimental biotechnology called SIVA to evolve themselves and only Lord Saladin, the last Iron Lord of the Iron Banner knows how to stop them. The Guardians work towards becoming the new Iron Lords and stop the Fallen and end their usage of SIVA.

thecarnagereport115 Lets not forget there's a good century or so between the traveler's death and when the character's ghost finds them. In between the traveler's death and the character's resurrection we have shit like Dredgen Yor with Thorn, the Battle of Twilight Gap and the creation of the Gjallarhorn by Feizel Crux, the Iron Lords sealing SIVA away in their attempt to destroy it at the cost of their own lives with only Saladin surviving, a few things that caused all but 1 of the towers to be lost or at least to stop being used (one of which we know the story for, Bannerfall, which involved one group (New Monarchy I think) plotting against the high council or whatever), and a few other things as well if I'm not mistaking. All of which is talked about in game at one point or another (except Dredgen Yor and Thorn, I think that's the one thing that isn't directly talked about).
all ff games are potentially connected,for example theres ff8 gilgamesh who asked squall if he is bartz(from ff5) and young shinra who explains to the player in ff10 how he plans to extraxt energy out of the planet(ff7)
not to mention that rhe rift connects every universe amd that type-0 explains gilgameshs origin.

Final fantasy is like DC comics, alternate universes that have all their events happening at the same time. that's essentially the plot of dissidIa and in final fantasy tactics, you pull cloud through a rift in dimensions.

Well done! Played through most FF's, but didn't realize the overall story behind them (was quite young). Most of it was "oh big monster appears, get badass weapons, get the next boss, get xp and gold, get better weapons, beat the next boss, beat the optional bosses, finish, and get heart warming ending. Feels good bro! Oh, the a new FF came out!".
I played some of these and none of this made any sense to me anyways!

One of the reasons I hold Kefka as one of the greatest villains ever - the dude actually succeeded in destroying the world. Oh sure you do kill him in the end, but the world is still hosed and Magic just disappears entirely - a bittersweet ending at best, much like 15.
Ardyn too succeeded in his plans.

i like how you play any of those games and you forget what it is about, because you get in the character without even notice. watching this video was like "oh yeah it was about that..." but what i remember the most is the heroes.
First time I watched this, I didn’t remember any part of their summary of IX.
Basically, 15 different games, it's just SquareEnix is using the FF brand to help sell them.

I've been seriously thinking about this video. If you were going for Chronology, you missed all the direct sequels: Final Fantasy 4: The After Years, X2, All FFXI Expansions, the FF13 Trilogy, and finally FFXIV Heavensward (Which is AWESOME). I recommend just going back and do each game in 3 minutes. Don't try to cram them all in, because even at the rate you went you still missed half of the games.

each one couldn't have been more different, Lightning was this military bad ass, Snow was a hopeful leader, Hope was a scared 15 year old who had lost his mother to this huge conflict and tries to find peace, Vanille hides a lot of her pain behind a smile, Fang is a over protective mother figure to the group and Sahz was trying to save his son
literally only 1 character has pink hair lol, Snow's hair is blonde, hopes is silver, fangs is brown, sahz's is black, Vanille is red, lightning's is pink.
Also, they werent even suppose to be friends, they're a group of very different strangers forced to work together or else they'd die on their own.
hate the game play if you want but the characters and their personalities were perfect, such a diverse group of people instead of just the typical JRP "emo guy with spiky hair and massive sword saves the day"

well, to begin with there are at least 15 diferent worlds (not counting with tatics and dissidia)....so yeah, its messy i know
Each game takes place in its own world. They're not connected story-wise.
They only crossover with each other in the Dissidia fighting games, the Theatrhythm rhythm games and Record Keeper. And sometimes special limited-time events in Final Fantasy XIV Online and Mobius.
Zværder *Worlds. Each number is a hard reboot of everything that came before. 15 separate universes at the least.
Bruno Santos Tactics is actually the exception of the exception. It shares a world setting with XII, with XII serving as a prequel.

I think it's because the company that made the game was running out of money so they named it Final Fantasy because they thought it would be the last game they make

I've also heard it was to be the director (Hironobu Sakaguchi)'s last game. Whatever the true story is, I think it's the same general concept. Lots of failure, and this game was meant to be the swan song.
The company was going bankrupt , he was making one FINAL game , a jrpg game full of FANTASY elements. But that one game called ' Final Fantasy' brought him so much money that he pulled himself out of bankruptcy and made a series of his game.

No, they're all more than tangentially related. That's the plot of Final Fantasy Dissidia.
jetairliner spartan Each individual number is a hard universal reboot of everything that came before. There isn’t even a hidden lore of connection between the different numbers. Example: VII is in a brand new universe from VI with a new world, plot, set of characters, history and laws of magic and reality; it is not a sequel to VI.
There was a rumor that FF 10 was a prequel to FF 7. It was semi confirmed in an official guide book by one of the developers. If you take that one developer's word that is.
FF13 and FF15 were suppose to share the same gods and shards and be symbolically apart of each other but that got scrapped due to internal management conflicts. Only the barest traces remain.
That Shinra from 10 is just a cameo , similar to Wedge or Cid.
But it's true regarding to FF13 , Versus13 and Type-0 , everyone of them were designed to be from Nova Fabula Crystallis , it''s just in different planet , but it was the same gods.
FF15 scrapped that , but many inspirations from it's Crystallis' root is visible: the Astral is the gods and the eidolon in one , Kings of Yore in essencially L'Cie , the messengers were Fal'Cie.
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone pronounce Ultimecia CORRECTLY. I also believe her name is supposed to sound like "all time mesh yeah" which is her goal.

Problem with FF8: Ellone doesn't send the team into the future (and she's not a sorceress). After Rinoa's possessed by Ultimecia, Ellone sends their consciousness back in time then pulls them back after Time Compression begins, sending them to the future.
DMC story in one line :
Papa wents to buy milk leaving his 2 twin boys who don't like each other.
"ENTIRE" is an overstatement considering how many final fantasies there are that are outside main titles (dissidia, tactics, type-0, etc) but I understand why he would leave them out. he only had three minutes.
Lol I was actually like "You're running out of time, you're running out of time... Oh you ran out of time" Cause I thought he would have XV in there as well, for a minute I also thought he would just use like 2 seconds to describe that game, but I should have looked at when this was uploaded xD

Honestly, these were all pretty comprehensive EXCEPT for XIV, because XIV has so many FF games worth of content all wrapped up into one. The Garleans are just one world-threatening force amidst the crowd. Like Primals, Allagans, voidsent, dragons, etc.
