Fun Fact when Thom Yorke first wrote Fake Plastic Trees he thought the lyrics were funny, however he didnàt know how to sing it. He then went to a Jeff Buckley concert, which inspired Thom Yorke and he then tried to sing Fake Plastic Trees in the "Jeff Buckley" style. When he was listening to the recording again he broke down crying.
Pretty wild to hear guy singing falsetto and go hey that's pretty good I'll try that and then record fake plastic trees in one take, underrated vocalist
Fake Plastic Trees is one of best written songs of all time I can't wait for the A Moon Shaped Pool reaction! I feel like he'll love the haunting strings and subtle everything about it
this will always be my favorite radiohead album i dont care what anyone else says lol.. this an album full of absolutely perfect rock songs that transcend time
Congrats on going down the Radiohead rabbit hole! Don’t focus so much on what your favorite Radiohead tracks are as it’s almost impossible to make a static top list. It will change as you go through different phases in your life. That’s what makes them so special.
High and Dry is Radiohead basically shitting on themselves writing High and Dry (they were forced to try and come up with a single as popular as Creep, and hated how they were sounding like a “normal” band instead of having their own style). Fun fact: the instrumentation in My Iron Lung is very similar to Creep, as is the buildup to the chorus. The lyrics mention My Iron Lung as the song Creep, because it gave them success but they were being limited to creating songs that sound like it to keep making money and being popular. In the lyrics he openly insults the members of his audience who like Creep too. 😂
Ricky I highly recommend you to listen to grace album by jeff Buckley, this guy inspired Radiohead to write fake plastic trees so there is a good possibility that you would like his music
I love this album and im glad you liked bullet proof cuz istg absolutely nobody ever talks about that song ever lol. To me it lowkey sounds like a beta version of how to dissapear in some ways with the ambience and strumming. Idk if you plan to do more albums in the future for radiohead but if you do please do "A Moon Shaped Pool" I have a feeling it may be one of your favorites.
Fake Plastic Trees got a special quality to it for real, kinda the same with Street Spirit. The kind of songs that just have an aura like they've always existed just waiting for someone to come along and sing them
First full reaction that I watch from you and I liked it a lot. New sub pal, glad you are enjoying Radiohead, they are my fav band of all time 👍🏼 Edit: I found great that you put The Bends as your second favorite over OK Computer, that just tells how amazing Radiohead is. Oh and finally I have to say that I think Black Star is such an underrated song in this album, I love that song... But in general the album is perfect to me.
thank you for reminding me what it was like to hear this for the first time. this album has been a part of my life for nearly three decades and I sometimes take it for granted. I've watched your other reactions but this was the first time I really sat here and listened as if I didn't know what was coming next (instead of just singing along and gleefully seeing you react to my favorite parts...) thank YOU!
I cannot express how much I love these videos bro. So great! I loves your comment about that one guitar part sounding like Zombies, I never noticed that haha. Keep it up man‼️ Also, if you're looking for something very different to react to, I really love Alvvays's album Alvvays (same name), and I think it'd make a great video!
I came back to this album whilst walking in Greenwich park down from Blackheath after 15 years or so. I heard it first when it came out and it blew mind mind. Hearing it again reminded me just how special Radiohead are.
I remember when I bought the Cd´s these times their albums came out ... I ran straight home when I wlked out of the store to hear their new album as the first on the whole planet as I felt ❤
they're live shows are unreal bro, I DEFINITELY recommend you reacting to one of their 2009 (In Rainbows) tour concerts. EVERY show has a different setlist with a tasteful mixture of each of their albums, giving you slowed down jams mixed with some heavy 90s guitar jams. PLUS when you see how they actually perform some of their sounds live...mindblowing and unreal
Wonderful reaction!!😁 It took me a long time to understand Radiohead - but once I did, I was all in! I think a band you would like is The Clash - Combat Rock is incredible - Very political, aggressive, funky as hell.
Very glad you are giving this one a chance. I think you chose to listen to them in a good order. This album isn't a standout, but it has some really great songs on it. I think going back and listening to this album after listening to the rest of the discog really give a lot of insight into their vision, and how they progressed over the years. You can hear little hints of all of the sounds to come in the future, and how they evolved and polished them. Every time I listen to this album, I remember how much I love the song My Iron Lung. The way the guitar riff comes in during the second verse is my favorite, and Thom's vocals are beautiful. The riff is right at the front of the mix and it seems out of place, but it works so well. Also, Street Spirit is an absolute masterpiece.
Amazing, 10/10 album, if you want to continuing listening to them, they're next albums are more experimental (except for Pablo honey) and theyre all a hit or miss (Except for Pablo honey) hares my recommendation if you wanna listen a new album: Hail To The Thief, It's a really good one, Amnesiac is also good, The king of limbs is more experimental and discreted as they're "Less good album" (its still a really good one), Moon shaped pool is devastating to hear, because its so melancholic, and pablo honey can seem boring as its they're first album, bust its mostly grunge I hope you enjoy those, radiohead is one of my fav bands ever!
Try listening to true love wait either the original or the live in oslo version (that live performance is incredible), it’s one of the tracks on a moon shaped pool. Gotta be one of their most beautiful songs
you should react to pink floyds albums like "the dark side of the moon" or "wish you were here" . Also from radiohead you might wanna check out "moon shaped pool" its my personal favourite atm.
Love the content, if you want some newer albums that have been praised as some of the best in years, especially from other British rock bands you should check out ants from up there by Black Country new road. A masterpiece
It’s not the oldest overall it’s the second album and imo the best. Pablo Honey is the first album which I also like but it’s more classic rock. Ok computer second best
if (for some reason) you're looking for a more uh... strange start to a discography (because the bends is their second record) then I would suggest pablo honey, I will say, it's a punching bag for radiohead fans, so uh... In other words, it's significantly worse than anything that came after it.
One of my favourites definetely top 3 I love the guitar led nature of this album and the transition away from pablo honeys commercial sound. Great reaction especially fake plastic trees that song always hits
This is probably the radiohead album thats easiest to enjoy on a first listen, and for sure some of the tracks hold up today, but its really the later stuff that showed their true brilliance. I do love it to be clear, and i think if it were from another less interesting artist it would be a classic, but in context of their discography you can see how they were still evolving here, and kind of aiming for commercial success to an extent

Hail to the thief is such a good album from Radiohead and is what got me into them
