Just for the record, on that Bones licking bones one, she was checking to make sure it WAS bone, not if it was human or not. This is a trick archaeologists use (at least getting a finger wet and then touching the material) rocks and some ceramic types will not stick to your tongue, while bones do. The show Bones is FRAUGHT with a lot of inaccuracies for sure, but this is something some archaeologists do, or at least joke about and Bones is in fact a forensic ARCHAEOLOGIST.
Hannah that is digesting lol 😆
I thought she was a forensic anthropologist...
@@imtherealnsa it's very much a similar field, she would have been trained in the same methods as a forensic archaeologist
Bones fans will do anything to defend that stupid show.
@@ninedaysjane2466 like clearly state that it's loaded with inaccuracies?
I love it when the Forensics Expert said this is complete horseshit during Blue Bloods tv show scene.
Looool
He absolutely HAS to analyze some of the Lucifer scenes XD
Nooooo those are so bad
The great thing about WIRED is that they know how to call on these experts who are not only knowledgeable and passionate about their field of expertise, but are charismatic and humble in sharing their knowledge with us. No superfluous crap attached. They leave all the attention on the experts and give them the space to just talk. You don't see that often these days on other channels. Keep it up, guys!
Proctologist examines Ant Man vs Thanos
Fingering Things your name suggests you might be a proctologist 🤨
Film Theory already did that, and discovered Ant Man ded...

MORE HANNIBAL ANALYSIS, MORE HANNIBAL ANALYSIS.
I genuinely don't know how it doesn't stress him out to see them contaminating scenes (even if it is fictional). I studied criminal justice and took a forensic course and I literally feel my muscles tense whenever I see that stuff in shows and movies
7:06 "This is complete horsesh*t, by the way." LMAO!!! Why don't you tell us what you really think?
The way she speak is also annoying with a brush of arrogance
I just like to stare at his face when the vids are being shown. He looks so awkward. I can understand his pain
Boen Hang lol
Especially while he said pubic hair. Haha

he presses his thumbs together at lot too which makes him look uncomfortable
Doctrine of fruit of the poisonous tree doesn’t apply in England. Luther’s alright!
Really❔ How!¡
Neither in Norway/Sweden. We have a doctrine called "fri bevisföring" which means that judges are allowed to freely evaluate any evidence.
Doctrine of the fruit of the poisonous tree also only applies to state actors here in the USA. Meaning it's for government employees especially law enforcement. Private individuals and whistleblowers can steal evidence and it will be completely admissable.
Unless someone in the government instructs that person to do it.

Can this guy please start his own RUclips channel? It's SO fascinating. And he's great.
That Brooklyn 99 one made me lose it. "Tell me why!" 🤣😂🤣😂
As someone who wants to study Forensic Science it is very good to know these things (even though some of them are pretty obvious) and learn the difference between what we think is real and what is actually tv.
But as a fan of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I can't believe he didn't laugh at the criminals singing I Want It That Way, that is the best scene of THE WHOLE SERIES.
Super glad the expert brought up the problems with bite analysis and the way they used to do hair analysis. Sign of a real expert is being able to accept valid criticism and the science has been critical of those two forensic methods for a while. Love these videos!
The way this guy casually describes horrible things... 😨
Please an eximnation of the tv show "Dexter"
I think Wired have covered Dexter in a previous technique critique. I recall a bit where they said how his blood spatter analysis isn't actually correct
Everyone else: “I want to hear about the mercury skull”
Me: “I wanna hear about you falling down at crime scenes”
I just stumbled into this today-it’s so fascinating!
Matthew is one of my favorite experts on this channel
Love this series, keep it up. Very interesting!
Nice you guys finally got a new editor that doesn't cut the person off every 5 seconds with some stupid joke.
Another fantastic addition to Technique Critique. I'd love to hear more of his real-life experiences.
i’m so disappointed that Hannibal isn’t on here 😭 the video is still good tho
This is the most interesting expert episode probably right next to the CIA chief of disguise episode.
The reason he hasn't seen any ghosts is that ghosts hate cops
who said that? we love cops!
@@shortsworldv1 I didn't like cops 100 years ago, but I since changed my mind

no.
This is the best series on RUclips. I watch every single one.
Excellent presentation. What he explains is one reason why judges instruct juries to forget what they've seen on television crime shows, because real life generally is not like how forensics are presented in movies and TV series.
"This is complete horseshit by the way" :D
These Technique Critique videos are so great, keep them coming!!!!
I wish Wired had English captioning in this expert series when they start to get into techno lingo.
HindsightPOV I'm not American but I understand everything
Yeah maybe you should just..... be smarter?
@@SjofnBM1989 there are people who are Deaf of hard of hearing who rely on captioning to watchthese videos. The auto captions fail horribly at science jargon. Accessibility is important.
Very interesting to see an actual expert commenting movies ^^
Wired does these kind of videos often. Check 'em out for more.
Next video will be me commenting on how to waste ones life
Wow just in time when I needed a rough idea on my assignment! Also this is a fun & informative video!

So just me, Matthew/Wired and my true crime podcasts.
Hello! Welcome to the neighbourhood! Here are some muffins that I baked, and a nice bottle of wine as a welcome gift! 😁
... Speaking of wine, have you seen The Staircase? What are your thoughts on that blood pattern? And Owls? Really? Do you think an owl could do that?? And what about the bloody footprint?!?

What are your favorite true crime podcasts?
Cliff McMasters Crime Junkies, Up & Vanished, Murder & More, Red Ball, Serial Killer, Criminality (was my hand down #1. It had all the original FBI interviews you see on Mindhunters. They stopped updating it and took a bunch down but there are some episodes left), Casefile: True Crime, Sword & Scale (not sure if they are still posting).
Fun Fact: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin based his wrestling persona after Richard Kuklinski due to him being so cold and calculated and having zero remorse.
Haha I live in the same town!
That's not true.
No he didn't...it was related to something his wife said and the sequence of words clicked, thus Stone Cold.
CrimsonNi I said persona, not the name.
Ninedaysjane It sure is. He’s said it in multiple interviews.
